First time eating at a Raising Cane's. Clean, nice place. Customer service could be a little more friendlier, engaged. Food was well presented and looked and tasted very good. Enjoyed the toast and cole slaw as well. Fries done right. Chicken cooked just right as well, liked the lightly breaded and fried chicken breast. Only negative was the banner outside where we choose to eat was hanging down and flapping. Easy to fix, but someone should have done it at the start of the day. Also, a little bigger catsup containers or use individu a little packets.

Finally visited this north Anchorage Raising Cane's. We are frequent visitors of their south location. Raising Cane's north has a better drive-thru. Raising Cane's south has a better parking lot. Visited Raising Cane's north today and was asked to pull up front to wait for my order. No biggie, except the parking lot is narrow and tight. It took me so long to squeeze my SUV into a parking space, that the worker was already waiting on me to put down my window...stressful. Food was consistent with what we've received at their south location.

They do one thing and they do it well: Chicken Fingers. If you're interested in something other than chicken fingers, you probably shouldn't bother. Space is eclectic and squeaky-clean. Chicken fingers are tender and piping hot. They are smushed together chicken meats, they are white chicken breast tenders. They thing that really ties everything together is their sauce. It's not spicy but it's got an irresistible, addictive tang. (it appears to be similar to a 'fry sauce' commonly found in Mormon areas, which is a mix of ketchup and mayo, but with some spices added. I know it sounds weird, just try it, you'll be a believer.) I love that they are open very late: till midnight. I wish you could just get a basket/bucket of chicken fingers only. Y'know, like you can at wing places? As it stands, you must get them with fries and Texas toast, which is a lot of carb in one sitting!

With 2 new Cane's locations coming to the area I realized I never reviewed the "original" location! I will admit I'm not a big fast food person. I like food, and I like it most when it's elaborately presented in a restaurant setting. You could say I'm a bit bougie when it comes to eating out. That said I was intrigued with trying Cane's when it opened in Chicago because friends kept telling me how good it was. I never made it to the Chicago location before I moved to ANC so when I saw cane's opening here I knew I had to go. First of all I like how this chain has ties to Alaska even though it wasn't originally started here. The interior is decorated very nicely and pays homage to Alaska, which is really cool. Decor is pretty upscale for a chain restaurant. The menu here is very specific. It's called Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers, and they only sell chicken tenders. I do enjoy tenders once in a while so this works for me. The fact that they focus on a niche certainly isn't a bad thing! The portion sizes on the chicken tenders are pretty good. The sizing of the tenders isn't uniform, but that means that they're actually using real pieces of chicken breast cut up--so sizes are going to vary. The breading is good, and tenders have always come out hot and crispy. The fries are on the soggier side. I love crinkle cut fries so they definitely get points for that, but they could use some additional time crisping. The Coleslaw is pretty flavorful, and I like when coleslaw is served with the cabbage diced rather than shredded. The cane's sauce that the tenders were served with is what I consider "zippy" it wasn't hot sauce, but had a nice little kick to it. They have the "good" fast food ice, which is the crushed ice. Sweet tea was tasty. It seems that they listen to the customers, and adjusted the prices. When I dined there a box combo (4 pieces) was $10, which is reasonable for the portion of food. Customer service was fast & friendly. For a fast food restaurant the food was pretty good so I was impressed! It's simple, but I think it produces a reliable product and doesn't try to be something it's not. This is a solid 3.5. It got the 4 star rating because as a fast food restaurant I believe it exceeds expectations!

    That's some upscale fast food

The interior of this place would lead you to believe this place is swanky fast food (if there is such a thing.) But frankly, it doesn't quite deliver. Their menu is EXTREMELY simple, so you would expect that they would have what they make nailed down to perfection. But they don't. The chicken fingers are great, but not fantastic. When that's ALL you make, I expect them to be awesome and they aren't. And they portions are small for what you pay. And the fries are not good. The bread is not adequately crispy. And the coleslaw they served us was actually rancid. They only thing that actually impressed was the dipping sauce (which I promptly went home and figured out how to replicate.) Long and short, the only item on them menu worth buying is the chicken fingers and you cant even buy them ala carte, which I find really fucking annoying. I dont want all that carby bullshit. Will I go back?.. eh, maybe. Let's just say I'm ambivalent.

I think the thing that will surprise you the most is the size of the chicken fingers. They're pretty small. But sometimes great things come in small packages. In a town (and state) that is missing a Chick-Fil-A, raising canes is filling the niche of "slightly better quality fast food chicken." Their sauce sets them a part a little. It's a tangy, slightly hot, slightly creamy little tub of fresh homemade goodness. Other than that, it's a simple menu that has fast service for the quality you're getting. I was happy, but not blown away.

Dinky chicken strips, breading falling off, cold fries. 16+ bucks for this?

This place is garbage. Both times I tried them (about 3 months apart), the chicken strips were dinky and the breading just sloughed off, the fries were cold, and there was very little flavor in either. For a place that only makes chicken fingers, you'd think they'd know how to make them not terrible. $16+ bucks for mediocre chicken strips, no thanks. I won't be back. You're better off going to Carr's or Fred Meyer.

Don't listen to the dumbos hating on this place. Not naming names, but some people reviewing here must either be flat out lying or just miserable no matter where they're eating! Raising Cane's is Raising Cane's; something unique in Alaska, but super common in the lower 48. They serve hot, fresh, crispy chicken tenders, decent toast, good slaw, and decent fries, with delicious house sauce for dipping. That's pretty much it. Don't go here if you don't like: Chicken tenders, crinkle fries, coleslaw, or Texas toast because that's all there is. Good stuff, but limited! I have never had a bad experience, and the service is bar none the best in Anchorage for fast food. Immaculately clean, pleasant workers, good location, and the food has ALWAYS been hot and fresh. Never soggy, never old. The chicken portions are decent for the price, these aren't whole breasts they're frying, they're strips. They are not "nugget sized" (unless you're a sasquatch and then I guess maybe they might be!), they're the size of the typical chicken strips you might buy from the meat market at any grocery store. If you're starving then get the six tender combo, it'll fill you up, don't purchase a smaller portion and then complain about the smaller portion you knowingly purchased! Price wise, Cane's can't be beat. What they charge here isn't too far off from what they charge down South, and unless you're eating at McDonald's or some other odious place, it's about as cheap as you can get for quality fast food. Overall, I love this place, it's delicious, and I recommend you try it out! P.S. Get extra sauce, it's worth it.

Ok seriously, everyone I work with told me to not try this place because it's garbage, and I'm the type of person that never believes other people's opinions of restaurants, case in point this place having 4.5 stars on yelp. Today I finally had some time today to give it a shot, I pulled in exactly at 11 so I can get the freshest chicken possible. Yet somehow every item inside the box I received 100% literally tasted like left over fried food you threw into the microwave the morning after the most alcohol you have ever drank. But me a sober non hungover individual was unable to put this wet Soggy day old chicken and fries into my body. After powering threw 1 chicken strip that btw was disappointing because on the photos the chicken strips looked 9 inches long, then you get your food and these are small enough to be counted as nuggets, but I digress... but no joke after the soaked in old grease chicken I couldn't even touch another to my lips and threw it out and went down to pita pit which is good but when you were craving good fried chicken a healthy pita wrap just doesn't cut it. But look at the picture it will say it all for me. They could t even put lettuce or something on the bottom to help with the grease.

My "hunker down" Caniac Combo: six chicken strips, fries, toast, coleslaw, two Canes sauce, and a Dr Pepper.

I thought I would try something new, and I've heard a lot about Raising Cane's. The simplicity of their menu is a good indicator of the complexity of their food; Raising Cane's makes chicken tendies and the rest is an after thought. Everything looked good when the Caniac Combo arrived. The crinkle cut fries were perfectly done, not all soggy and not cooked dry, but they were annoyingly plain. The fries tasted fine but needed ketchup or something. I ended up throwing some some Lawry's on and getting ketchup. I'll remember to not order from Cane's if I don't have access to extras. The chicken tendies were perfectly cooked, too. Cane's really knows their tendies and put an impressively thick layer of moist breading on their chicken. The breading does a really good job of holding the boring sauce that comes with the Caniac Combo. I ate the toast. I'll probably go in sometime just from curiosity, but this isn't something I would ever have a craving for or make a regular treat. For as much as I paid for the Caniac Combo I could have a whole bag of frozen chicken tendies and plain crinkle cut fries. Yeah, the tendies are perfect, not they're tendies. Perfect tendies is like racing tires on a Yugo. Next time I'm watching anime in my hat I'll pass on Cane's and warm up the oven.

Daisy, the manager is ridiculously friendly and professional! She's ALWAYS so pleasant and our experience there is better whenever we have interaction with her. Whether she actually remembers us or not, she always acts as though she does. All of the staff are pleasant in their dealings with us, but Daisy, we find is over the top AWESOME!!! Mr and I love the Sweet Fire Chicken, sweet and spicy, crispy chicken breast pieces... I recently tried mushroom chicken, which was tasty too. I like to go for the Sweet fire and Kung Pao chicken. The Kung Pao isn't overly spicy, if you're a spicy lover, but it's a nice mix of spicy heat and flavor. I wasn't a fan of sesame chicken, which I recently tried. It wasn't horrible but Sweetfire is much better in my opinion. Mr usually enjoys Orange chicken too. It's sweet with a little bit of heat as well. Beijing Beef is also a favorite, again, a little bit of a sweet and spicy mixture, crispy beef with peppers... suddenly as I'm writing this, I see a pattern in our pallet when we frequent Panda Express!! But hey, that's how we roll! All in all, we have no gripes with any of the restaurants, the food is consistent as is the dealings with the pleasant staff. The extra effort that Daisy puts into her restaurant and customer service makes it that much more of a reason for us to go to Tikahtnu, rather than other locations.

To set the scene I was driving a 15 person passenger van filled with youth to an event thinking I was going to park come inside the restaurant and order. They had the lobby closed most likely due to staffing. I totally understand. It's very very hard right now. So I had to drive this van through the drive-through not something I would recommend anyone doing, especially with 15 who wanted to order things that weren't even on the menu. The staff were extremely patient and the one taking my order was very kind and nice to let me know. She was going to help the other car for a minute while they were deciding. Orders and these are some of the most complicated orders I've ever heard in my entire life it's like these kids have never been to a McDonald's before ever. also I didn't know that you could request an extra hamburger patty inside a burger that already has too many. What is this in and out burger? I have no idea how they make the frozen café drinks but to see them make eight of them so rapidly blew my mind. I apologize profusely to every staff and all of them. We're extremely kind and nice to me. When I got up to the window, I knew it might take a while so I offered to pull the van out front out of the way so they let other cars get their food and move along. They told me there would be no need. They got us all of the drinks right away by the time they were done handing us all the drinks food order was then coming through the window quickly. We had two other cars in our caravan that were also in the drive-through that had a similar amazing experience. All of the youth love the food , even the strange things that they ordered who doesn't get pickles on a burger? Out of all of the order, there was one item that was forgotten we didn't find out until we arrived at our location. But we still had a car that was close by. They went back and were very kind to immediately make the item for them and apologize profusely. It's very strange to order hamburger patties by themselves. but the youth was going to feed his dog them. The place was clean and the staff acted like this was a normal thing. they did an amazing job. I personally don't frequent McDonald's often and I think this is by far the first time I have ever given one a 5 Star Review! but the entire team did amazing. Thank you so much.
