    Western bacon cheeseburger :)
    Lillian W.

This is Carl's Jr is my favorite one to go versus the one in Placerville and Folsom (near the freeway). Since the pandemic, I have been living the drive thru lifestyle more so and have used this drive thru 4-5 times since. The food is always served hot, the burger fixins are fresh, packaged well, and terrific customer service. On my last visit, the drive thru staff person asked if I had a coupon. I did not, so she matched the prices to the best available discount option. That helped me save around $2-3 dollars. Yay!! The CJs is a block off the Highway 50. Pretty easy to get to and back in the freeway. To be honest, I do not know if the dining room is back open yet. I only use the drive thru.

Placerville location burger! (Don't go there!)

From now on, I will take the drive down to this Carls Jr because they are SO much better than the Placerville location! Staff has always been welcoming and nice at the window and they know how to make a burger! Just look at my Placerville burger in comparison to my Cameron Park burger! Carls Jr is my favorite fast food joint so I know which ones are good!

    New and clean

Most fast food restaurants get terrible reviews, you see 1 or 2 stars often. Why? It's not clean, and that turns people off. This place is above average clean on my recent visit and even the restroom which used to be pretty old, at this location has been recently remodeled. It's the same old Carl's, but orders here come out fast, correct and it's generally above average for the genre. Patio and play zone for children is also a bonus. Parking here can be tight, but if you are coming through with a rig or boat, you can use the dirt lot in the back (near the motel) or the Safeway parking lot across the street and do some walking, through not very walkable Cameron Park. Of all the fast, cheap food in Cameron Park, a road stop between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe, this place does pretty well.

    Beyond Meat Burger. Yum!

Once again, thank you Yelp, for leading us to this super friendly, local, and family owned dining establishment. And may I say, very popular too! Inside a couple of large booths and real nice bar-type seating too. Perfect for that solo diner. There is another room with more seating also. So about that European food... owner's, Mom, Dad and two daughters, hail from Croatia and Bosnia and offer modern, authentic European dishes as well as American eats too. And I can state with confidence those breakfast/brunch menu items are awesome. Open 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. , with the best "welcoming" customer service on the planet. I experienced it first hand. This is a delicious and happy Cafè for sure. Do not miss it if you are in the Shingle Springs area. Happy eating!

It's a nice, friendly neighborhood spot with a full bar, lots of seating, pool tables and a little arcade. The menu has lots of burgers and plenty of other great choices. And the burgers did not disappoint! I went for the PacMan, a basic cheeseburger, and my husband had the BlueCue. Both were delicious and juicy, and the buns tasted super fresh. We subbed salad for our sides and it was a really nice salad with cheese, onions, and tomatoes, not just a few greens. Servers were all really friendly and we had plenty of time to enjoy even though we arrived close to last call. We will definitely be back!

But I called them up and they said they do have a full bar. So here we are!! There's plenty of seating. They have a bar area. Then a restaurant style area with booth seating. Then some high tops where the pool tables are. As well as some regular tables in front of the TV. They have the ability to turn the game sound on as shown by when the 49ers game came on (they got smacked by the Seahawks). But during the Broncos game they had the music playing but thats ok. The tvs here are at least 55 inch tvs. Crystal clear. Great for watching the games. There were no Broncos fans or Bills fans here. So it was just my wife and I having basically the entire place to ourselves for the game. We sat (stood too) for the entire game. It was an epic OT win by the Broncos. We each ordered about 4 drinks and had 2 apps. The drinks were all very pretty. Some were good. Some not so much. They are able to make up drinks on the fly as well as customize them. We had their boneless wings and pretzel sticks. Good finger food type snacks. Our waitress disappeared for long periods of time. I think initially she was annoyed that we were just ordering drinks. But I feel like we made it worth her while with 8 drinks and 2 apps ordered.... They have a small arcade to the back. As well as a large private event room. No tvs in there as everyone was coming out to watch the ending of the Broncos game. Overall a nice restaurant. Lots of older people here. But also some families and young people on dates too. So fun for the whole family. Good amounts of drinks. Good amounts of food as well.

We went the day after Christmas so it was pretty packed with families and friends still celebrating. My main qualm with Mimosa House is they have expanded their restaurant into a huge space that is usually packed with patrons, they have an extensive liquid menu, and yet, there's only one (1) single bathroom? Y'all. It's untenable. Yes I know there are bathrooms out in the plaza but that's not very convenient. I just wish their bathroom offerings was commensurate with their mimosa menu. Okay, I digress. Other than that, the food here is pretty good. I got the lox eggs benny and the sugar plum mimosa. I can't say I loved the sugar plum mimosa but I think that was just personal taste. The lox eggs benny was solid. Overall, I will be back, if only because this is a nostalgic meeting spot for me and my friends.

*** Vegetarian Review ***…read more Cool spot. Plenty of seating inside and out. The place/location feels like it's out of a Hallmark Christmas movie. All it needs is snow and someone making a life changing decision, bumping into a past love while shopping for a Christmas tree. Service is super friendly. Food came out fast - we came for brunch. The place was half full. Parking is free and I can imagine getting very full during special occasions and Holidays. Would I Come Back? Yes, but not for the french toast. I really enjoyed Fruit Salad listed in their Light Bites menu. This was special and I do not like yogurt at all. Comparisons - If you are a fan of Cafe Bernardo, you'll enjoy this spot. There are more choices - no board menu, it's a 6 page food menu and another 3 pages of drink specials. I had the french toast and in a blind taste test, I wouldn't be able to tell who made what. Your basic french toast - homemade tasting, but nothing so special to make you want to tell your friends. Classic French Toast (Grade B) Like I said above, these are just your everyday french toast. Not like a signature dish you'd find at Tower. With that said, they are good and taste homemade which isn't a bad thing. They offer this in a FULL $16 or a COMBO $22. The combo includes 6 toast halves, 2 eggs and 2 slices of bacon or pork links. They do offer substitutions to make this vegetarian friendly, but since I was sharing with a meat eater, I just asked they put the meat on a different plate. I did appreciate the mound of butter on top and that certainly did help with the overall taste. Fruit Salad ($16, Grade A+) This was awesome. I avoid yogurt at all costs. Never been able to eat any of the brands straight out of the container. But I am so glad I was at the table to share this dish. I am never hesitant to try something and it paid off. Seasonal fruit yogurt, honey, raisins, and granola. Taste popped off the plate. This dish I would return for. Bottom line - fast and friendly service. Although the french toast was just a classic french toast, I would like to try their Maui French Toast which has flambeed bananas and macadamia nut in a vanilla batter. It's close to Regal Theatres so a fruit salad brunch before eating a tub of popcorn might be the better option.

But how could I know that experience (and the service!! OMG the service!!!) was going to be so outstanding, that I would come back again the next evening to eat again?? The first night it was happy hour, with a spicy jalapeño mule, buffalo cauliflower, smoked Brussel sprouts, and a couple of beers. But the service was so attentive (almost too attentive) that we felt like we had to watch for gaps so we could take a bite or a sip in between folks checking in to see if we needed more food, more refills, or just a friendly hello! The next night was burgers, and brews, and bloody Marys - and again, the most amazing thoughtful, interactive and attentive service I have ever seen! And being a business owner, I can tell you that it's not enough to have a beautiful setting on the river with great views and a decent menu.
