This store don't care about customers service they just care about their drive thru timer. I have twins and asked for 2 kids meals, when paying I only get one, which I told Silvestre I requested 2. Very argumentative he said I only requested 1 which how would I if I have 2 kids. I told him to give the the other one and I'll pay for it. He stepped out of the window to attend to dine in customers making me think he was charging me for the send kids meal. He comes back and ask what did I wanted to do, so I told him I wanted to pay for the second kids meal. He completely refused to charge me for the second one and told me just to get back to the drive thru lane. He just made me wait for nothing. read more

( update- they only make the when-fresh-delicious iced tea once a day in the am-meaning it's going bad by late afternoon and they don't care. But weekdays are probably safe all day because of how much drive-through traffic they get on weekdays- came back on a slow Saturday afternoon to tea going/gone bad. Saul was amazingly helpful and the ladies cooking nailed it. Still in the area so came back 4-5 hours later to see if they'd made new tea by then: nope, and?. Got an unfortunate experience with a fellow who said roughly 'we only make it in the morning and ( emphatically) it's always fresh - no one else complains- only you ' at which point I thanked him and departed with the 2/3 cup of bad tea from earlier in the day. This Carl's now on a time-out but only because of the bad attitude guy this evening- everyone else is golden) . I do worry about my beloved Carls though. Under CKE's foolish watch? Having made fresh unsweetened iced teas after 8 hours out of a commitment to quality? Or 2. I'm not very impressed with the burgers I order two of their guacamole burgers based on the pictures on the menu. It looked like their was going to be a fair amount of guacamole on the burger. BETTER RECALL SAUL!! I visited Carls in Dana Point and went through Drive thru to order, among other things, 2 chicken star combos for my kids. I asked the attendant how many chicken stars come in a combo to which he replied "3,5, or 10 chicken stars". I proceeded to order two 10pc chicken star combos. The attendant replied "you want 2 10 chicken star combos"? to which I replied yes. Proceeded with rest of order and went to pay. At the window, after paying he asked me to pull forward to wait for order. They do this all the time to hit their restaurant drive-thru waiting time KPIs... yes, they do this, and I have a photo to show for this from prior visit. He brought me the order after a long wait (10mins), I drove home, and when I pulled out the food for my kids, they were 20 pcs of Chicken Strips. My kids were disappointed, they wouldn't eat it and actually my younger 10yr old couldn't eat it as he has issues with his teeth and these strips are too hard for him. I went back to the restaurant, walked in to give back the food and get it replaced. This guy barely look at me and he didn't even let me explain, he just YELLED at me "No Refund!!". I say I don't want a refund; you got my order wrong, I just want it replaced. He said "NO, you ordered chicken strips!" yelling again. I said no, I even have a witness in my car if you want, you repeated it back to me and said "chicken stars", he yelled saying that I was wrong and I do not know how to talk... not sure what he meant by that? He then wouldn't help me. I asked for the manager and he said "I am the manager", he proceed to work the window and fully ignore me. Two cooks were in the back seeing this harassment and one of them came over to help me. He went back to the kitchen and remade the order. This manager guy totally continued to ignore me and I was the only one there at the counter. When the lady brought me the food I asked for this guy's name, she seemed scared but she told me "his name is Saul". I told her this Saul guy needs to learn some manners. I am writing in hopes that they do something about this guy's behavior as it seems to be recurrent according to what I read in Yelp with the same mistake!! Chicken Strips instead of Chicken Stars!! I particularly come here for their Western Bacon Cheese Burger and it's always done right, extremely tasty and fresh. One of the employees there named Kasa usually takes my order and is very pleasant to talk to, professional and genuinely nice. In comparison to other fast food places, this location has a very friendly staff and the food consistently good. The manager at this location does a great job with big orders. I did the drive-thru and had an AI speak to me. It got the order correct I had a coupon to get a discount and I did get that discount when I asked for the coupon back to see if I could use it again for the future, he said no. I got the food. It tasted lukewarm like it had been sitting there for sometime. I would not recommend this Carl because the food seems old and no one seems to go visit. It is the first time I have posted a seriously negative review but this Carl's location has earned it. I live nearby so have been there multiple times over the years. The fries are consistently cold, the food is inconsistent. Recently I got chicken tenders that had been refried so many times they were tough and inedible. The final straw was being overcharged for a burger (not charged the posted price), and the order of fries was left out of the bag. I did catch the overcharge but the cashier said it wasn't up to him. He said that's what the register charges. I didn't notice the missing fries ($3.09) until I got home. I filled a complaint via the receipt survey but know nothing will happen. It is a shame because I do like the Carl's menu but this location is terrible. I try once a moth or so hoping it will get better but I give up! read more

I got burger, fries, and a coke. Half way through the burger I knew something was off. Threw the rest away. That night and for the next three days i had the worst food poisoning ever. I followed the order, he charged us correctly but totally forgot to give me my free drink and I'm wayyyyy too tired to deal with it. I just went through the drive through, two cars in front of me, took 25 minutes. I should have backed out of line when I had to shut my car off waiting for the car in front of me to get their order taken. I waited it out, pulled up and placed my order, pulled around the building and there are two cars waiting. Shut down again and 10 minutes later the first car leaves, same thing with the next car, I shut off and restarted three times. I get that things are weird with the covid thing but if the are going to be open they should have more than two people running the place. read more

Carl's Jr...Keeping us humble! Upon entry into the drive through I was greeted by what I thought was a terrifying homeless man who pointed at me and screamed "GOD DOESN'T HAVE MY MEDS!!!" This deep, philosophical take on religion vs medical science gave me something to ponder while eagerly waiting for the line to move forward so I could put some distance between myself and the mentally disturbed drifter who was screaming at me through my window. Then it hit me...It's October! This wan't a dangerous schizophrenic, this was a professional scare performer not unlike the ones you'd see at Knott's Scary-Farm or Hollywood Haunt! I found this as a great and innovative way for Carl's Jr. to scare and entertain guests who would normally be bored in the drive thru and was very impressed with the attention to detail used in the costume and behavior of the "Horror Drive-Thru" performer! After pulling up to the speaker I was greeted by a female employee who welcomed me and asked what I wanted. I ordered one of their $5 value boxes that includes a cheeseburger and a hotdog with fries, a drink and a cookie. The order seemed difficult for the young lady to grasp and after hearing her unenthusiastically mumble the wrong order over and over I realized that she must be part of Carl's Jr.'s efforts to provide local rehabilitated drug addicts with employment opportunities in the community. Being an alcoholic myself, this really put Carl's in a new light for me and I applaud their efforts to take part in programs like this to provide jobs to those who would never be considered for hire by another fast food chain like In N Out or Taco Bell. After verifying my order and pulling up to the window I handed my debit card to a gentleman who proceeded to charge it. After looking at the receipt I realized he charged me $10 when the value box is advertised at $5. When I brought this up he promptly corrected the issue and refunded me the $5. After having just spent 3-4 minutes clarifying my original order with the girl going through withdrawal, I assumed this must be an elaborate up-selling technique implemented by upper management to increase profits and sales. A simple person would be upset by this, but I am super smart and know that you need to be tenacious and ruthless in the business world if you want to succeed. Steve Jobs didn't become a billionaire by taking the moral high road. While I was waiting at the window for my order to be cleared up I was visited by a second scare actor who called me the N-word...not sure what to make of that since neither him nor I are African American but I didn't know what to make of Cloud Atlas either and a lot of people seemed to have really enjoyed that movie so I just went with it in hopes that no one Watching would think I'm too slow to keep up with an intricate piece of performance art. After finally receiving my food I pulled out of the drive thru directly onto PCH and made my way to the harbor so I could eat my meal while watching people play Pokémon Go at Baby Beach. When I got there I was disappointed by the lack of people to watch but was really thrown for a loop when I opened the value box to discover there were zero hotdogs included with my order... At first I was in denial, searching desperately through my car for the hotdog. Then I was overcome with anger and rage. HOW DARE those bafoons forget MY hotdog! After I settled down I pleaded with the lord, "Please! I'll do anything to be able to go back and check my order at the window!". When I came to terms with the absence of a hotdog in my car I became sad. I sobbed and imagined how different my life would be if the hotdog was here. An hour later, gazing off into the horizon, listening to the waves crash, I accepted the reality of what occurred. My life would keep going with or without Hotdog in my life. I needed to cherish the hypothetical memory of Hotdog and not let it consume me. I felt like a new man, I WAS a new man. This complete spiritual dismantling and rebuilding of myself was one of the most incredibly humbling and gratifying experiences I've ever been through. All I did was try to order a hotdog but I now feel as though I've lived a thousand lives and loved a thousand lovers. I was reborn in a parking lot over looking a small, man-made beach and none of it would've been possible without the spiritual guidance of this Carl's Jr's angelic staff. 5 stars. read more

I went through the drive thru with still plenty of time from closing and the male on the mic sounded bothered and like he did not want to be there. Aside from that we waiting a long time for the food to come. On my part I messed up because I didn't check my bag but when I got home I was missing a major item from my order. Another time I was there to dine in and and they took 25-30 minutes to bring the food out. Food quality is good but service is terrible.
