Worst service ever! I ordered ahead for pick-up, and my food was ready pretty quickly, the food isn't the issue here, it's the extremely rude customer service! I ordered fries and they didn't put ketchup in the bag, so I had to go back and wait 10 minutes just for somebody to acknowledge that I was there just to get ketchup. Then I needed to ask for the code for the restroom door, and AH-gain, another 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged my existence, then the gal mumbled the code as she was walking away from me with a scowl on her face, like she couldn't be bothered with me! Brought my kids here after a soccer game and this is by far the most disgusting McDonalds Ive ever been. We walked in and the staff was blowing balloons up for some sort of event happening. However both trash cans inside the location RIGHT NEXT TO THE REGISTER are overflowing. Then we went to use the restroom and there is toilet paper, women's pads and literally poop smeared on the wall. We watched several female staff members use the restroom however not a single person cleaned it. Our table is covered in dried ice cream and salt. As a former food service worker I try to be as patient as possible when it comes to staffing and being busy. However they were maybe 6 or 7 customers already eating, drive thru empty and they looked well staffed. Wow, at least 3 separate orders in a row. This is the McDs on PCH in Dana Point. They consistently forget at least 1 item on the order. Have been using the app. However after picking up, and getting to our somewhat nearby destination or to our home, we always find a missing item on our order. Then I either let it go, or have to drive back, after which, my family is done and I missed having lunch/dinner with them. Have called the manager who is nice enough, but it keeps on happening. I went to the McDonalds off of Bristol, but they're all pretty much the same. The manager there was great! Helped me right away and was very polite!! She was the best part of the visit. I gave a one star because there's nothing less that I can pick. I purchased a chocolate sundae. It was terrible! A big yuck! They certainly have changed the recipe because it wasn't the ice cream that I remember. No way! It was watery and not much of a vanilla taste to it. Sort of had a lumpy look to it. Not the creamy ice cream I remember. I'm Very disappointed!! I would never recommend them again and will never go to McDonald's again. Used the McDonald app, enticed by one of their specials, ordered the barest of orders so it would be quick, 2 hamburgers ice cream and a cookie. I ordered on the app and 15 minutes after arrival I called up the restaurant from outside the drive thru and canceled. 17 cars went through after me and the lot was empty and still no order. There is something wrong with this McDonalds. Every other McDonalds is better. I really have held back on this review because its a local food business and I would rather be supportive, but i cant stand it. Every time I go to this location there is some issue. Normally the fries are cold. I dont know how thats possible when the place is full of cars/orders, but they pull it off. I have started asking for hot and fresh fries, but they just blow it off. Otherwise or also, the rest of the order is somehow wrong too. Missing or wrong sized fries, missing burger patties (that happened tonight) missing or incorrect drinks... This is why I debate driving an extra 15 minutes to the McDonalds in San Juan Capistrano every time, and then regret it when I dont. Woah! The worst service I have ever seen. This location is clearly understaffed. I came in at 1:30pm & stood at the cashier waiting patiently to order. I used the Mobil app to order my. At 5:32 I got to the McDonald's the door was locked. The sign on the door said it was open at 5am. There were 2 people inside who saw me knocking but ignored me. I am a local, i frequent every food joint in town, as well as being a consumer a customer I also deliver doordash in San Juan and San Clemente. The employees here will treat you like GARBAGE! Yelp, McDonald's website and on their front door they open at 7:00am. 7:20 comes around after knocking for 10 minutes along with 4 other customers and a maintenance guy there to work. Finally someone comes and says 7:30. I point at the sign as it says 7am. She said she knew. Well if you decide to make your own hours then change it on the door at least. There were easily 12 cars in the Drivethru with one lane open. Somebody needs to learn how to run their business. Two of the people waiting are regulars and said they do this all the time. I've never been happier that they put too much sauce on BiMacs because today when I decided to take it apart and lose the middle bun because it had become a mess, I found a hair (see pic). I'm not sure what is going on at this McDonald's but today I drove thru on my lunch break. Keep in mind I'm on my lunch so time is limited. I ordered a quarter pounder with cheese. I asked about a coffee and they stopped talking altogether and after numerous times of me saying HELLO? Finally Came back on but like they were just helping me for the first time. I then asked about the coffee again and she disappeared for 2 mins again. When she came back I asked her if she heard me and she said "yes" but didn't respond to my Question about coffee until I mentioned it again, to which she finally Replied they didn't have it. I pulled forward, paid and they had to pull up to the #1 space to wait for my food. Almost 10 mins later they give me my bag and I go because my lunch is almost over. Located on PCH and it has a two lane drive thru. The drive thru window had the thickest and longest plexiglass that I've seen at a drive thru recently. There was a space at the bottom to pass the items and money through. Nice. Came here to order some cool refreshments on a hot day. I ordered two small fruit punch slushies and a hot fudge sundae. I asked for peanuts. Cashier: M'am? We have not had peanuts for a verrrrry long time. Me:Okay, guess I haven't been here in awhile. Let me get back to 2020. I live nearby so I go here once in a while when I give into my cravings. I'm not gonna lie, I friggin love McDonald's! I don't eat there all the time, because I know their food is unhealthy (doh), but I do indulge once in a while and thoroughly enjoy my McFlurry and chicken nuggets. I've been going here for years and they have been dependable and never gave me any problems. They don't get my order wrong, their staff is always courteous, and the food is always tasty. Drive thru service is quick enough usually, even if they have a line of cars during lunch or weekends. I love that it's 24 hours, although they occasionally have the McFlurry machine break down late at night or in the very early morning hours. It's close to the baby beach and harbor, although there are many great options nearby and on the same street from $ to $$$$ options. Definitely McD if you're looking for something quick and reliable quality. read more
