    Loco Moco with longanisa
    Kelsey N.

I was excited I was right near this place and got to have a good hawaiian style breakfast! The pancakes were amazing and the ube syrup really made it. The loco moco with the longanisa was good but I would want to try another meat next time. Good portions for the price and the staff were super friendly and kept everything clean. I also really like they had a lot of outdoor seating where you can enjoy the views.

I had this California omelette. Wife had a stack of pineapple coconut pancakes!!

Really great food and atmosphere. The servers are so nice,m and so was the atmosphere! I ordered two spam musubis, a kids breakfast with an Oreo pancake and a biscoff latte. Very much enjoyed the food and time there.

I was skeptical about going to a pancake chain, after several unimpressive experiences with IHOP. This is the only Stacks I've been to and it was good. The portions were generous, and it was surprisingly tasty. Everyone finished their meals or got takeout boxes. Service was friendly. Seating is tight on a Saturday, so grab a table quickly if you see one. The parking situation in the complex is even worse, but not an issue if you don't mind parking on the street and walking.

This place hit the spot. It was such a great surprise to find a breakfast spot with a Hawaiian twist. The food was fantastic and the juice was fresh. Order out the window and then grab a seat.

Casual breakfast place when staying in Dana Point that I've been visiting for over ten years. It closes at 2:00. I recommend the buttermilk pancakes, eggs Benedict, Loco Moco and the breakfast sandwiches. There are several tables inside and outside. If you see a table, have someone in your party snag it because the seating will fill up quickly on the weekends. I could eat there 2-3 days in a row. Huge breakfast menu, but you got to get at least one pancake!

this is one of our favorite brunch places! we got the the loco moco with katsu & kalua pork omelette with a side of macadamia pancakes. the pancakes were so delicious. they had the crispy crust on the outsides and were soft in the middle. the sauce in the loco moco complimented the katsu very well. the food is delicious however it might be a little difficult to find parking in this area.

The food was good at this place, the waiting line was like 20-30 min. The parking is next to the building. When you park get down by the stairs and it takes you directly to the place. The environment is nice, music not loud, good to talk. The reason I give 4 stars is because of the cashier she wasn't paying attention, I asked for macadamia pancakes but she didn't put it on the order, we have to reorder and waste.more time because of the time. We are shorter on time sometimes because of work, and visiting places like this will be amazing if they can save us time.

Breakfast Egg Burrito with kahlua pork and hawaiian latte

We had such a good experience here! got a breakfast burrito with kahlua pork + a hawaiian latte (macademia nut + coconut). I will say the drinks run a little sweet (I asked for less sweet and it was perfect) but the staff are super nice and can make it with fewer pumps!

I ordered the two eggs with protein bacon was my protein. I selected pancakes. I also had coffee. Everything was good. The pancakes didn't come out with the eggs and bacon. I was almost finished when they came out. I had to use a lot of cream because the coffee was strong. It reminded me of Kona coffee. Everyone was really nice and I liked the island music.

Love the food here. The pancakes are some of the fluffiest pancakes I've tried. We got the cookies and cream Pancakes, eggs and steak hibachi, and the loco moco with chicken katsu. Everything was so flavorful. The steak was so delicious and tender. Maybe a little on the saltier side but nothing that was deter me from getting it again. The loco moco sauce was flavorful. You order before you take a seat. So take a look at the menu beforehand so you know what to decide on. And good look deciding because everything sounded so good. I would like to go back and try some of the other pancakes they have. It's a small place but nothing overwhelming once you find your seat.

The hostess, Zoey, gave me the estimated wait time (which was an expected amount for that time in the early evening.) My mother-in-law has a portable oxygen concentrator that runs on batteries, so I inquired if there was an outlet we could use in the meantime to save the battery while we waited for our table. She politely asked me to wait while she spoke to her manger. Moments later, Kat, the manager arrived and I explained the situation. An unusual request I'm sure, so Kat took a minute to figure out a way to accommodate us. She also politely asked me to wait while she researched a solution. About 5 minutes later, Kat returned and informed me that a table by an outlet would be available soon if we could wait another 10-15 minutes. I happily agreed and let me party know. Not more that 15 minutes later, Kat gathered us in and showed us to our table. Our server, Alyssa, promptly greeted us and took our drink order while we perused the menu. We started with both the fried calamari and crispy brussel sprouts appetizers which were delicious and large enough for the 6 of us. For dinner, we had the Double Smash Burgers, Fresh Catch plate, Grilled Local Fish Sandwich, and the Cali Clam Chowder. Each entree was brought out fresh and tasted amazing! Alyssa was very attentive to ensure our meals were prepared to our liking and that our beverage needs were met. Kat came by as well to check on us and to make sure we had everything we needed. The staff and management at Jimmy's Famous American Tavern in Dana Point went above and beyond to accommodate our party of 6 and provide us with the perfect balance of personal and professional care. Thank you!

Today, on a Saturday at 12-ish, as a family of 4 we were able to get seated right away. Our server was attentive and offered/brought waters right away. We were seated inside which was open and spacious but loud enough to make it family friendly. The tables were far enough a part that you did not feel like you were on top of each other. Next time, we might ask to sit outside so our young boys can watch the cars drive by. We learned that the kitchen is nut free (always double check as this could change), which was amazing since our son has a severe nut allergy. He was so excited to learn this as he can be limited at other places due to cross contamination or the wrong oils. Then when the food came out and it was delicious - it sealed the deal. It is now in the top of our list of places to go. The kids cheeseburger is good size and not a smaller version as some places do. The chicken tenders were panko crusted which was so crunchy. My husband and I shared the smoked carrot and chicken tacos and we enjoyed them both. The beer was also very good with my husband and I each trying a different kind - an IPA and a Pale Ale. UPDATE: After receiving a response from the GM, I took a look through some of the other negative…read morereviews and noticed a pattern: nearly every criticism seems to receive a lengthy explanation or rebuttal defending the policy or practice being questioned. And respectfully, I think that's part of the disconnect here. When customers repeatedly tell you that something about their experience feels unwelcoming, explaining why they're wrong to feel that way isn't necessarily the same thing as listening to the feedback. Of course children shouldn't be running through servers carrying heavy trays, climbing on bars or fences, or lighting leaves on fire. I don't think any reasonable parent would disagree with that. But none of those examples remotely describe what happened during our visit, nor were we suggesting children should have free rein of the restaurant. My concern was--and remains--the punitive three-strike system and the way it's being enforced for fairly ordinary kid behavior. There is an enormous amount of space between "children setting things on fire" and "a kid got out of their chair," and that nuance seems to be getting lost. We live in an incredibly family-heavy community filled with busy restaurants that somehow manage to maintain safe environments for their employees, children, and other guests without making parents feel like they're accumulating demerits throughout their meal. And that's really the feedback: a policy can be created with safety in mind and still be poorly executed. If multiple longtime customers are telling you that the experience of being on the receiving end feels punitive and unwelcoming, perhaps that's worth considering rather than simply explaining why the policy exists.
