    two burgers on wax paper

Ok, I'm a local and seriously fed up. I have been putting this off for a long time hoping there would finally be some improvement. They haven't been able to make anything we have ordered the right way ALL YEAR. I even stopped going there for nearly two months, but it's convenient to where we live. The same people that have been working there still cannot listen and do not know how to make anything right. So today's order was a #18. There isn't supposed to be mayo on the double and they put ketchup on the chicken and then scraped it off (the only change we made was no cheese). I ordered a chocolate oreo shake which today they suddenly don't know how to make because they have a new computer system. Yet it's the same employees. The shake, of course, was the consistency of water. Same as it was almost two months ago. It took at least 20 minutes to get through the drive thru with two cars and another 10 minutes at the window. I was so hungry, I didn't take a pic of the screwed up burger. I didn't eat anything else, not even the cold stale fries dumped inside the bag. BTW I went to the Carl's in Salina a couple weeks back and everything there was perfect and hot. I don't know how the Elsinore Carl's even stays in business.

I've been to many Carl's Jr in my life time, but like I said, this was the best Famous Star I've ever had.

It is spacious inside with large tables and a friendly, welcoming staff. I had a margarita with my lunch; only one though because I was driving. It wasn't strong but was tasty enough. The beers are mostly domestic with only one micro brew selection but there were plenty of national brand choices. The food was home made and not bad for bar food. I had a Pittsburgh cheese steak sandwich that I thought was good. I ordered it with a side salad instead of fries as I had also ordered the loaded Pastrami fries which came with cheese, pickles and mustard on top. It was a bit too rich and heavy for my taste and the flavors didn't really work well together. Maybe without the mustard I would have liked it more. Not a bad place for a rest stop or a reasonable local hang out as well with some decent food.

The cheesesteak was alright. It was nothing to complain about or write home about. The jojo fries were kinda undercooked but good and seemed homemade almost. Attentive service, not overbearing. A lot of locals since Richfield isn't exactly a destination but you'll get the same treatment and be just as welcome.

Red clover cafe was like a lighthouse in the dark as the road leading up to here was quite dark but the lights outside were like beacons of light drawing a moth. The burgers here were great and it was about a 45 min drive past Torrey to get here. The server was really nice and this seems like a small family run business. Definitely would recommend on the drive from Capitol reef down to Bryce Canyon city. We tried 2 different burgers: 1) 5/5 - Twisted mushroom burger (wagyu patty, bacon, American cheese, mushrooms, and we subbed the bleu cheese aioli for the bbq aioli). 2) 5/5 - Utah Slammer ( Wagyu patty, pastrami, and grilled onions) Both burgers were very juicy and tasted great. My wife preferred the twisted mushroom and I preferred the Utah slammer (it's a mountain of meat). Onion rings were okay and the sweet potato fries were nicely crisped. Definitely worth stopping by!
