I think I was expecting a lot from them food-wise, but maybe that was my mistake to do so. Service was really good. Everyone was very welcoming and nice and made sure all of our needs were met. The banana chocolate chip waffles were very good. It is hard to mess up waffles, especially when you can never go wrong with banana and chocolate, and it was exactly what I wanted. I also ordered a side of sausage and you get 3 for $5. The biscuit (though not the traditional shape) was very tasty. Not dry at all and tasted just how you would want a biscuit to taste like. I probably wouldn't order the gravy again. Overall, I'm glad I stopped by to try them out, but I probably wouldn't come back for brunch. Maybe for dinner? Stay tuned!

Bad: Their "Kobe" burger was $29 or so and was a good portion size. The problem? Lacking any kind of flavor or seasoning. The beef was flavorless. The stroganoff was a good portion size but again it was severely lacking in the seasoning department. Good: Those who ordered the corn soup and the porcini mushroom ravioli enjoyed them. They especially enjoyed the sauce from the ravioli. The desserts overall were enjoyed by the table. The sticky toffee pudding, while not as rich as we are used to, was still relatively good; soft and moist enough. The dark chocolate oblong with mango passion fruit was enjoyed by everyone too. The interior remains unchanged; like a classy London gastropub. Service: communication is key. Where they dropped the ball was that we mentioned on the reservation that we were there for Father's Day and prime rib, which they do on Sundays. As you walk in you even see the sign for the prime rib special. We sat down and the server mentioned that there was no prime rib this weekend. I had even chatted with them on the reservation app and they made no mention of this. We could have gone somewhere else had we known in advanced. Our server was relatively nice too.

We were very impressed by how quickly and thoroughly Myra cleaned our room and how thoughtful she was in taking care of us! The café had great food and delicious coffee, and the bar at the restaurant was very cozy for evening drinks. We didn't have time to experience the Spa or the Tasting Room, but they looked wonderful. We happily give the Appellation Wine & Roses Spa Hotel 5 stars and hope to re-visit it the next time we need a luxurious holiday!
