I love Phillip's farm! My mom's been taking me to this cafe since I was in my late teens. The food quality is great and you can definitely taste the fact that everything is scratch made and fresh! Today I brought my fiancé for the first time after we dropped our kid off at school. He ordered steak and eggs and I ordered the brisket Benedict special. I've had the steak and eggs before and it's always delicious, he loved it. I didn't care for the cornbread in my Benedict but that's a taste preference and not a quality issue. The brisket was tender and flavorful and the eggs were poached perfectly. His steak was a perfect medium rare which is uncommon for diner steak and eggs and he was really happy. We each had coffee and we were given to-go coffee refills at the end. The service here is always great and welcoming, just like home. Special shoutout to their fresh made preserves (today was strawberry) and pies- I've yet to find a better pie anywhere except my grandma's kitchen!

Enjoyed a nice Sunday Lunch! I've always heard great things about this place and I was not disappointed. We came after the lunch rush, so we were seated right away. Service was great, we got our food fairly quickly. We ordered the chicken club, garlic fries, and half tri tip sandwich with a cup of clam chowder. The sandwich was good but it had a lot of mayo dripping on the sides. My favorite was the potato salad, I'm a sucker for dill. Clam chowder was also really good, creamy, and big chunks of red potato which I enjoyed. I would definitely come back and try their breakfast.

Michael's is a fave in any season. I had a chile verde omelette. It was a bit heavy on the tomatillos possibly... the balance of the green chiles can be perfected. Service was great and very attentive. Next time I'll try the chilaquiles. The ambiance is great. Take a look when you're in the area.. worth it!

My friends and I were looking for a breakfast spot and have heard good things about Michael David's cafe. We were seated right away on a Sunday at 11am. Tables were full, but service was really quick! Pretty nice setting, away from the wine tasting festivities on the other side of the winery. Felt like a homey diner. I ordered a breakfast burrito with chorizo, my friends ordered chicken fried chicken and Chilaquiles, and we got French toast to share. My breakfast burrito did not disappoint. It was really flavorful and the salsa on the side was a good addition to each bite. I did try my friends' choices. The chicken fried chicken was a little lackluster in flavor and the Chilaquiles was on the saucy side. They were OK, but if I were to come back, I would stick with the breakfast burrito. Would definitely come again!

Always consistently delicious food, accommodating staff, and cute friendly and casual atmosphere. Went for breakfast this last Sunday. We hadn't been in a while because if you're not in there before 9am on Sunday, you'll find the wait gets longer. We were lucky when we got there at 930, that a party of 2 just left. There were a few new menu items since we'd been there. I ordered the delicious Chorizo Benedict. hubby got the stuffed French toast and asked for Blueberry reduction/compote instead and loved it. I also wanted to try a bite of each of the bakery breads. Everything was so flavorful! We will definitely add this to one of the regular weekend breakfast spots.

Date: 07/21/2024 Party of 2 We've visited The Farm Café quite a few times beginning 2018 and always loved their Lemon Ricotta Pancakes (if available on special menu. I apologize in advance for not having to complete my review back on July 21, 2024. I still remember it like it was yesterday though. Friendly staff- were immediately seated as soon as we arrived. Given that the lemon ricotta pancakes weren't on the menu, I decided to order a short stack instead which consists of two pancakes. The photo may not do justice but the only way I would describe the pancakes- DRY AF! I actually felt embarrassed for the restaurant for walking out disappointed due to pancake cravings not satisfied that we actually forced ourselves to visit the nearby IHOP the very next day just for comparison.

The ultimate breakfast, French Toast, Scrambled eggs, and ham.

I have been here a few times and finally getting around to saying how great it is. They do tend to have longer wait times, for a group of 6 at 10am we waited 30 minutes, it gets much more busier after 10am so try arriving early. The restaurant itself feels very homey and cozy. I got the ultimate breakfast with French toast and it was incredible. The flavor in everything was wonderful. Their menu has traditional items along with specials, such as Dubai French Toast which would be my next try. They have a great variety of mimosa flavors and a delicious michelada. I definitely can't wait to be back.

Went in for breakfast. We went to the podium to check in and were sat right away. It's not a big space but they have plenty of tables. I decided to order the chicken and waffles. The waffle has bacon cooked in it which was tasteful. The boneless chicken was perfectly crunchy covered in gravy. It was a great combination. The veggie omelette plate came with country potatoes, choice of bread and fruit. Added the avocado. Overall good service. They serve breakfast and lunch through out the week. They have to go snacks, fruits meats and cheese, and pies. Perfect if you decide to do a little wine tasting while you're there. They have great wines!

I love breakfast! A Mexican Benedict with jalapeños? Yes! So good! I had them replace English muffin with a biscuit. The food and service were fine. I have no doubt the business is busy on weekends. The menu had many options including fried chicken, pancakes, and omelettes. Coffee options are limited and no alternative milk is available for the dairy-sensitive.

Day 3 Stop 1 In anticipation of our wine tasting we went early as we did not want to have to wait in line... They do get busy as the morning hours tick on. Fortunately for us, there was no line and we were seated right away. For seating, you can seat inside the cafe or get a patio table, both of which are comfortable and pleasant. We were presented with the menus and offered coffee or other beverages upon seating. Within a decent amount of time our server returned to take our order (I was impressed that we were not rushed...) and refill our beverages. Meals were delivered, food was good, timing was perfect for our schedule. I would like to make a suggestion that if you are not hungry, order side orders instead as the portions are large. I'd go there again even if I wasn't going to attend any wine tasting.... Hana Hou

Chicken Fried Chicken - $20: barely toasted english muffin, cold eggs, room temp gravy. Disappointed.

What once was our favorite breakfast place in Lodi, but no longer.. For Father's Day 2025, we hoped to start the day with delicious breakfasts and fantastic service. Unfortunately, we had a deeply disappointing one at Michael David Winery's breakfast cafe instead. As they do not take reservations, we made sure to be there 15 mins before they opened the doors. Good timing too, as we were the 2nd party of a growing line. This is where the first issue occurred.. When taking our names to be seated, the host ignored us, seating the party who arrived after we did. No smiles, no greetings; just an unenthusiastic question of "how many?". I mentioned to her that we had arrived first, but she seemed very unconcerned, brushing away the info. Not the best way to start our experience.. Looking back at it, I believe this is moment where our morning was sent downhill. Service used to be so much better here. Several of our orders were either completely forgotten, incorrect or arrived cold; leaving us waiting far too long for our food. Tables who were seated after us got their food 10min before we did, even though we placed our orders in first!! Our server was friendly, attentive with coffee refills and attempted to fix our orders, but the staff overall, seemed a bit disorganized and indifferent, which ruined what could have been a lovely morning. From prior breakfast experiences her, I expected so much better. We used to look forward to enjoying delicious food, amazing service, a couple bottles of wine and homemade jam to go. Sadly, with a heavy heart, we won't be returning for a visit anytime soon. Food: 3 Ambiance: 3 Service: 1 Value: 2

I have been to Michael David on many occasions, but always for events or tastings, so when a friend wanted stop here for lunch I was happy to oblige. The grounds here are nice and the location is convenient if you are on HWY 12. There is also plenty of parking. The Farm Cafe has a rustic feel and felt a bit cramped. It was also quite loud and warm. The selection was basic and the food and service were mediocre. It was not a terrible lunch, I think I just expected a higher level of quality from my previous experiences here. I'm not sure if I would return for the cafe alone.

Geny excited to have her kids meal!

A favorite spot of ours to enjoy a delicious breakfast. The servers are always friendly. The atmosphere is chill very nice. And clean. Definitely recommend.

Ask the Community - The Café at Michael David Winery

    Do they offer vegan options?

Can you get coffee or tea from the bakery if only getting items from the bakery not the dining room?

Coffee and tea are available from our cafe while dining.

Is it a dog friendly patio?

Our grounds out back and large tasting room are dog friendly. All we ask is that the dogs remain on a leash at the owners side.…

What is the chances of a big group to get a seat at the cafe- planning to have lunch on Thursday with a group about 20 people?

It's first come first serve. Not too big inside. Might be able to fit you in the patio area. I'd try calling them to give a heads up. A lot of places are short staffed. Hope you can get in, the food is really good!

Are you open for Mother's Day breakfast?

Yes! we are open from 8am til 3pm on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Can you still order breakfast during lunch hour?

Unfortunately, no. We serve breakfast from open until 1130am and lunch from 1130am - 3pm daily.

Hi, I know the bistro is open, can we come in the morning for that or what are the hours for the bistro?

    The bistro is open from 11am - 5pm, 7 days a week.

Is the Farm Cafe open for dine in?

Not yet. We do have our bistro open out back serving wood fired pizzas, paninis and selections from the BBQ as well as bottle sales to be enjoyed with your meal.…

Is the winners or restaurant patio dog friendly?

I don't believe the cafe is unless they ate service animals but the patio might be. I would recommend calling

Always a good sign. We were quickly seated in their covered patio area. The seating was quite comfortable. The staff were prompt and attentive. I ordered the Potatoe Platter. Probably not the healthiest of choices but who can deny a heaping platter of country style potatoes mixed with grilled ham, bacon, onions, and topped with melted cheese. I mean seriously. I ordered mine with eggs and ordered the pancake instead of toast, more on that later. To say this is a hearty meal would be the understatement of the year. Try as I might, I packed over half of this delicious dish for breakfast the following day. Judge me if you must, but I measure all pancakes against the gold standard of pancakes, McDonalds. The Avenue Grill offered a solid pancake, light, fluffy with a slight snap, every bit a worthy competitor to my favorite. Before I knew it, the pancake was gone. My wife ordered the French Toast. Want we loved about the Avenue Grill is sometimes you just want good, simple food and this was the case with the French Toast. Based on a light Sourdough, the french toast had good flavor and came together nicely with the syrup. All in all, we absolutely loved Avenue Grill. I was not used to enjoying a salad with beets + watermelon, so now, I am a fan. The crab cakes were flavorful, especially paired with the house-made lemon aioli sauce. The Beef Wellington dish was divine. The meat was super tender, the brown sauce was dynamite and the vegetables + mashed potatoes were the perfect complements. Lastly, the sticky toffee pudding was great, as the dessert was not overly sweet. The green apples added on top provided a nice balance of tartness against the richness. Junior was my server. It's in Lodi in the cuts, and has this woodsy type of feel to it, serene almost too. The grounds were done really nice, and had tons of space too, very scenic. They've got a few different places on the grounds to eat at, and a huge spa which is my guess the main reason people come to stay here. The spa was very nice and a cool cool experience. The rooms are nice, just a tad odd how close they are to a residential sub division nearby where you can see into peoples yards and whatnot, that part threw me off a bit, kind of takes away from the privacy a bit. That's probably the only thing I would change from this. I would return 100% here.

Tonight, we returned for another birthday, but the experience was nothing like before. We arrived at 6:10 PM for our 6:15 reservation. Upon entering, the hostess walked right past us with another party, without so much as a "I'll be right with you." Another employee eventually asked if we'd been helped; when we said no, she said she'd find someone. We were finally seated, and our server, Monica, was the bright spot--attentive, friendly, and kept us updated on our food. That food, however, took nearly an hour to arrive, and we watched several tables who were seated after us receive their meals first. When our dishes did come, they arrived in stages--the succotash and salmon first, then the pork chop and gnudi about seven minutes later. Worse, nearly everything was cold and overdone. Pork chop: Unevenly cooked--some parts dry and overcooked, others undercooked. The potato purée was gummy and overworked, though well-seasoned. Salmon: Overcooked and bland; I had to ask for salt and pepper just to add flavor. The corn velouté underneath was unpleasant--the corn kernels were dried out and rock-hard (I circled the pieces I had to spit out in the photo). The beans were burnt, not charred, and tasted bitter and inedible. The succotash was flavorless and had 1/2 cherry tomato poorly executed. Gnudi: The lobster was chewy and overcooked, and the dish was dry--it desperately needed a sauce and a bright note like lemon to bring it together. The only course that delivered was dessert. For the price, the quality was disappointing across the board. Needless to say, we'll be looking for a new spot for our future celebrations.

They also have chilaquiles and a nacho bar. Our favorites are: chilaquiles, tortilla chips, sausage, and bread pudding. If you'd like to come here from lunch or dinner, everything is just as good. Especially their desserts. I've tried them all and they're all winners! The ambiance is very rustic and cozy with optional outdoor seating. Service is always superb.

We were greeted and seated promptly after arriving. The restaurant is decorated in vintage paintings and furniture, a large brick oven for pizzas and a cute outdoor patio with additional seating. Our server was very attentive, ensured our drinks were topped off and we were satisfied with our orders. We ordered a pizza, wings & mozzarella sticks as starters. I ordered the Tri Tip Green Chili Melt which was really good, others in the group ordered, wings, fish & chips, chicken caprese sandwich & the French Dip. All of our food & drink were delicious & our service was top notch. We enjoyed our dining experience at Dancing Fox and plan to dine here again in the future.

What a sweet find in Lodi! Never really came out here but met up with some friends for lunch…read more I got the chilaquiles and they were so good! Flavorful, tortillas were crunchy, customer service was nice and place was clean. I'm usually not huge on potatoes but these were so gooood! Salty, flavorful, seasoned so well! The chorizo and eggs were on the bottom more than the top so by the time I was done I had a bunch left over. My friends got the biscuits & gravy. The portions are huge & they're saucy! Had a chance to try it and I usually don't get biscuits but felt they were pretty dry without the gravy. But even with the gravy more on the dry side. But would recommend checking them out!

The staff was friendly and was able to find us a seat either inside or outside. We elected to sit outside because the music inside was slightly a little too loud. The staff understood and we got to sit on the patio under the umbrellas for shade. I ordered the BBLT; Bacon Lettuce and Tomato sandwich, with the homemade potato salad. I'm always nervous when ordering a BLT somewhere as some places hardly give much bacon on their sandwich. Not this place however, they loaded my sandwich up with bacon and it was amazing. The potato salad was light, not over salty, or sweet. Just right, where you could season it up however your tastebuds like. We enjoyed our brunch outing and will be back next time in the area.

YAY! :0) We came here on a weekday for the 1st time and were delighted by the staff and delicious fresh food, pastries and bread. We enjoyed the fresh perfectly baked, crusty baguette, croque monsieur, almond croissant and avocado toast. We arrived too late to try their quiche because they sold out but were told we could try to call in the order on the phone next time. Additionally, we were informed that their focaccia pizza on ?Thursday? is a "must try" too! :0) Thank you to the entire team for your very welcoming hospitality and your beautiful and delicious brunch options! We can't wait to return soon! Merci Beaucoup!

Anyway for the food, you walk in, line up, order, then find a seat. It was difficult to find seating. It was loud, crowded, and felt a little packed. I think next time I will order my stuff for to go. They had soo many choices. It was hard to pick just one or two things, so we got 4 to share. Everything was delicious. Freshly baked. My favorite was I think it was called croque monsieur? Sough dough bread, I think maybe bechamel and cheese, and veggies. It was hard to cut so I just ate it with my hands. The concha was also really nice, still soft the next day.
