My friends and I were looking for a breakfast spot and have heard good things about Michael David's cafe. We were seated right away on a Sunday at 11am. Tables were full, but service was really quick! Pretty nice setting, away from the wine tasting festivities on the other side of the winery. Felt like a homey diner. I ordered a breakfast burrito with chorizo, my friends ordered chicken fried chicken and Chilaquiles, and we got French toast to share. My breakfast burrito did not disappoint. It was really flavorful and the salsa on the side was a good addition to each bite. I did try my friends' choices. The chicken fried chicken was a little lackluster in flavor and the Chilaquiles was on the saucy side. They were OK, but if I were to come back, I would stick with the breakfast burrito. Would definitely come again!

Michael's is a fave in any season. I had a chile verde omelette. It was a bit heavy on the tomatillos possibly... the balance of the green chiles can be perfected. Service was great and very attentive. Next time I'll try the chilaquiles. The ambiance is great. Take a look when you're in the area.. worth it!

Always consistently delicious food, accommodating staff, and cute friendly and casual atmosphere. Went for breakfast this last Sunday. We hadn't been in a while because if you're not in there before 9am on Sunday, you'll find the wait gets longer. We were lucky when we got there at 930, that a party of 2 just left. There were a few new menu items since we'd been there. I ordered the delicious Chorizo Benedict. hubby got the stuffed French toast and asked for Blueberry reduction/compote instead and loved it. I also wanted to try a bite of each of the bakery breads. Everything was so flavorful! We will definitely add this to one of the regular weekend breakfast spots.

Date: 07/21/2024 Party of 2 We've visited The Farm Café quite a few times beginning 2018 and always loved their Lemon Ricotta Pancakes (if available on special menu. I apologize in advance for not having to complete my review back on July 21, 2024. I still remember it like it was yesterday though. Friendly staff- were immediately seated as soon as we arrived. Given that the lemon ricotta pancakes weren't on the menu, I decided to order a short stack instead which consists of two pancakes. The photo may not do justice but the only way I would describe the pancakes- DRY AF! I actually felt embarrassed for the restaurant for walking out disappointed due to pancake cravings not satisfied that we actually forced ourselves to visit the nearby IHOP the very next day just for comparison.

The ultimate breakfast, French Toast, Scrambled eggs, and ham.

I have been here a few times and finally getting around to saying how great it is. They do tend to have longer wait times, for a group of 6 at 10am we waited 30 minutes, it gets much more busier after 10am so try arriving early. The restaurant itself feels very homey and cozy. I got the ultimate breakfast with French toast and it was incredible. The flavor in everything was wonderful. Their menu has traditional items along with specials, such as Dubai French Toast which would be my next try. They have a great variety of mimosa flavors and a delicious michelada. I definitely can't wait to be back.

Went in for breakfast. We went to the podium to check in and were sat right away. It's not a big space but they have plenty of tables. I decided to order the chicken and waffles. The waffle has bacon cooked in it which was tasteful. The boneless chicken was perfectly crunchy covered in gravy. It was a great combination. The veggie omelette plate came with country potatoes, choice of bread and fruit. Added the avocado. Overall good service. They serve breakfast and lunch through out the week. They have to go snacks, fruits meats and cheese, and pies. Perfect if you decide to do a little wine tasting while you're there. They have great wines!

I love breakfast! A Mexican Benedict with jalapeños? Yes! So good! I had them replace English muffin with a biscuit. The food and service were fine. I have no doubt the business is busy on weekends. The menu had many options including fried chicken, pancakes, and omelettes. Coffee options are limited and no alternative milk is available for the dairy-sensitive.

Day 3 Stop 1 In anticipation of our wine tasting we went early as we did not want to have to wait in line... They do get busy as the morning hours tick on. Fortunately for us, there was no line and we were seated right away. For seating, you can seat inside the cafe or get a patio table, both of which are comfortable and pleasant. We were presented with the menus and offered coffee or other beverages upon seating. Within a decent amount of time our server returned to take our order (I was impressed that we were not rushed...) and refill our beverages. Meals were delivered, food was good, timing was perfect for our schedule. I would like to make a suggestion that if you are not hungry, order side orders instead as the portions are large. I'd go there again even if I wasn't going to attend any wine tasting.... Hana Hou

Chicken Fried Chicken - $20: barely toasted english muffin, cold eggs, room temp gravy. Disappointed.

What once was our favorite breakfast place in Lodi, but no longer.. For Father's Day 2025, we hoped to start the day with delicious breakfasts and fantastic service. Unfortunately, we had a deeply disappointing one at Michael David Winery's breakfast cafe instead. As they do not take reservations, we made sure to be there 15 mins before they opened the doors. Good timing too, as we were the 2nd party of a growing line. This is where the first issue occurred.. When taking our names to be seated, the host ignored us, seating the party who arrived after we did. No smiles, no greetings; just an unenthusiastic question of "how many?". I mentioned to her that we had arrived first, but she seemed very unconcerned, brushing away the info. Not the best way to start our experience.. Looking back at it, I believe this is moment where our morning was sent downhill. Service used to be so much better here. Several of our orders were either completely forgotten, incorrect or arrived cold; leaving us waiting far too long for our food. Tables who were seated after us got their food 10min before we did, even though we placed our orders in first!! Our server was friendly, attentive with coffee refills and attempted to fix our orders, but the staff overall, seemed a bit disorganized and indifferent, which ruined what could have been a lovely morning. From prior breakfast experiences her, I expected so much better. We used to look forward to enjoying delicious food, amazing service, a couple bottles of wine and homemade jam to go. Sadly, with a heavy heart, we won't be returning for a visit anytime soon. Food: 3 Ambiance: 3 Service: 1 Value: 2

I have been to Michael David on many occasions, but always for events or tastings, so when a friend wanted stop here for lunch I was happy to oblige. The grounds here are nice and the location is convenient if you are on HWY 12. There is also plenty of parking. The Farm Cafe has a rustic feel and felt a bit cramped. It was also quite loud and warm. The selection was basic and the food and service were mediocre. It was not a terrible lunch, I think I just expected a higher level of quality from my previous experiences here. I'm not sure if I would return for the cafe alone.

Geny excited to have her kids meal!

Ask the Community - The Café at Michael David Winery

    Do they offer vegan options?

Can you get coffee or tea from the bakery if only getting items from the bakery not the dining room?

Coffee and tea are available from our cafe while dining.

Is it a dog friendly patio?

Our grounds out back and large tasting room are dog friendly. All we ask is that the dogs remain on a leash at the owners side.…

What is the chances of a big group to get a seat at the cafe- planning to have lunch on Thursday with a group about 20 people?

It's first come first serve. Not too big inside. Might be able to fit you in the patio area. I'd try calling them to give a heads up. A lot of places are short staffed. Hope you can get in, the food is really good!

Are you open for Mother's Day breakfast?

Yes! we are open from 8am til 3pm on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Can you still order breakfast during lunch hour?

Unfortunately, no. We serve breakfast from open until 1130am and lunch from 1130am - 3pm daily.

Hi, I know the bistro is open, can we come in the morning for that or what are the hours for the bistro?

    The bistro is open from 11am - 5pm, 7 days a week.

Is the Farm Cafe open for dine in?

Not yet. We do have our bistro open out back serving wood fired pizzas, paninis and selections from the BBQ as well as bottle sales to be enjoyed with your meal.…

Is the winners or restaurant patio dog friendly?

I don't believe the cafe is unless they ate service animals but the patio might be. I would recommend calling

We also tried the chicken Parmesan--big portion accompanied by marinara sauce. Another great choice was the wine braised short ribs: very tender and plentiful atop mashed potatoes and vegetable medley. Real tasty, I had to steal a corner from my wife . Bad: Their "Kobe" burger was $29 or so and was a good portion size. The problem? Lacking any kind of flavor or seasoning. The beef was flavorless. The stroganoff was a good portion size but again it was severely lacking in the seasoning department. Good: Those who ordered the corn soup and the porcini mushroom ravioli enjoyed them. They especially enjoyed the sauce from the ravioli. The desserts overall were enjoyed by the table. The sticky toffee pudding, while not as rich as we are used to, was still relatively good; soft and moist enough. The dark chocolate oblong with mango passion fruit was enjoyed by everyone too. The interior remains unchanged; like a classy London gastropub. Service: communication is key. Where they dropped the ball was that we mentioned on the reservation that we were there for Father's Day and prime rib, which they do on Sundays. As you walk in you even see the sign for the prime rib special. We sat down and the server mentioned that there was no prime rib this weekend. I had even chatted with them on the reservation app and they made no mention of this. We could have gone somewhere else had we known in advanced. Our server was relatively nice too.

It's contemporary and the furnishings are quite comfortable. It's the type of place you can settle in and have a casual meal without feeling rushed. Prices are high yet the quality is excellent. For the first evening at the bar we settled into a high top table. You can sit at the bar, lounge type seating or outdoors on a pleasantly shaded patio. They had an expanded bar bites menu as the main restaurant is closed on Wednesdays... most of it quite enticing. We opted for cocktails to start and I chose a specialty Date Maple Old Fashioned. It was really good with a large ice ball to chill it. For bar bites we shared the pork belly sandwiches (small, delicious but messy to eat), the sausage skewers (amazing!) and crab cups (refreshingly light and easy to eat). After cocktails we had glasses of a light white wine, made with Santorini Greek grapes. For the next meal in the dining room the place was a buzz with activity but conversation was easy without a lot of excessive noise. It's intimate and the room is quite pleasant for a gourmet meal. We started with cocktails (same Old Fashioned) and shared the grilled Brussels Sprouts which were plentiful and ever so delicious. They were slightly over grilled for my taste yet it didn't distract from me enjoying them. We got bread which was a baguette with butter and the consistency perfect for a French style loaf. For my entree I debated between the scallops and the pork chop and went with the chop. I was quite pleased as the chop came in thick slices and drizzled with a tarragon mustard reduction sauce. It was amazing, tender, juicy and at 22oz I couldn't finish it all. It came with a tasty apple sauce and grilled seared cabbage. Absolutely delicious. Ed, celebrating a birthday, had steak which came with a huge bowl of mashed potatoes which I tasted. Oh my gosh, the creamiest potatoes ever! For dessert we shared the cheese plate, a really great way to end the meal, with glasses of a twany port. All of the cheeses from a brie to a hard cheese were top quality. Service both times was very attentive, professional yet personable. We were well cared for and everything went smoothly. It's expensive yet the experience and value is worth visiting. The layout includes a mix of seating areas, which gives it a more relaxed, layered feel. The bar area, known as the Ghost Lounge, adds a darker, more lounge-like element to the overall atmosphere. Service was excellent. Our server, Lacy, was friendly, attentive, and witty - easily one of the best servers we've had in a while. For drinks, I had a local Oak Farm red wine that was excellent. Others in our group had mimosas, which were well received... especially the grapefruit mimosa, which my partner really enjoyed. For food, there were several highlights. My partner had the chicken and waffles and loved it; I tried some and would agree it was very good. Another person in our group ordered the steak breakfast tacos, which came as a set of three. They only ate two, and I had the third and it was delicious and something I would recommend. Another in our group had the eggs Benedict and thought it was excellent. I had the biscuits and gravy with fried eggs. It was okay, but not something I would go out of my way to order again. In terms of value, prices felt consistent with the quality of the food, service, and overall setting. It's not a budget brunch spot, but it feels appropriate for the experience. Overall, it was a really enjoyable Easter brunch with great service, a comfortable and well-designed interior, and several strong menu items. I'd rate it a 4 out of 5, though if half-points were an option, this would land closer to a 4.5. We'd definitely come back.

My girlfriend and I stopped by Maison Lodi for lunch before spending the afternoon in town, and as…read moreusual, it did not disappoint. We both ordered the prime rib sandwich. I got mine with no cheese and a side of onions, and it was every bit as good as I remembered. One thing that was a little odd was that my friend's plate came with chips and veggies while mine only came with the sandwich and veggies. I'm not sure if there was a difference in how the orders were entered, but it definitely caught my attention. That said, those chips were absolutely delicious. We liked them so much that we packed up the leftovers and took them with us while we walked over to the visitor center afterward. That's always a good sign when you're making sure not a single chip goes to waste. We've been here quite a few times over the years, and one thing that keeps us coming back is the consistency. The food is always excellent, and even on busier days they seem to keep things moving. During this visit the restaurant was fairly crowded, but we were still served promptly and never felt forgotten. The atmosphere is one of my favorite things about Maison. It feels relaxed without being overly casual and always makes for a nice lunch stop when we're in Lodi. Helpful tip: If the chips come with your meal, don't leave them behind. They're surprisingly addictive and worth taking home if you can't finish them. Between the great food, friendly service, and reliable consistency, Maison continues to be one of our favorite places to stop whenever we're spending the day in Lodi.

Quaint, charming and with top quality product this is well worth a stop. Of course prices are on the high side, but the value is certainly there. There's an array of awesome looking baked goods/pastries, including large loaves of round bread choices for sale. They have a number of other food choices too- sandwiches, salads, etc. Other products including cookbooks by Charlie Palmer are also sold. The room is large, comfortable and the ambiance is rustic country. I got two Butter Croissants and two Jalapeño Cheddar Scones for me and the husband. Both were excellent, delicious, and quite large. The jalapeño is strong so be certain you like it as it is my particular preference. The service was very helpful and efficient. This place is very professional in every regard and well worth a stop.
