I was driving home from my daughter's soccer game and found myself craving a Western Bacon Cheeseburger, so figured I'd try this one. My expectations were pretty low, and I was pleasantly surprised. Clean, friendly & fast service, and a good burger / fries that was prepared with at least a bit of care and attention. Pretty fast drive through, no hassle Carls Jr. perfect in its proximity to the freeway for you to pick up and go on a hungry hungry drive back from Tahoe. The inside is no frills, the bathrooms are OK maintained and the staff pretty much know what's going on. However, the drive through is actually much much slower than the regular walk in for some reason. It takes them a while to just grab ketchup... so recommended you actually stop inside. read more

Carl's Jr used to be one of my favorite fast food restaurants until I noticed a regular pattern at certain locations: they charge more than the menu price. Not an insane amount - that would be easily noticeable - but 5-6%. But if you think about it, 5-6% across all sales really ads up. And you can always tell which franchises are over-charging: you have to ask for a receipt. Honest franchises always hand the receipt to the customer or throw it in the bag. When I lived in Atascadero, I stopped eating at that franchise when I noticed the constant over-charge. I was working in the Sacramento area and stopped into this location for breakfast and immediately noticed the over-charge. Flabbergasted. After 20 minutes of trying to get their card reader to work in order for us to pay. They said for us to leave the food on the table, not to eat the food and then leave. I asked if they were just going to throw the food away and they said they would restock the burgers. Then they said they would have us try card readers in the back. They tried my credit card and debit card which both were not working from either a unknown failure or loss of communication. The counter attendant recommended going to a different restaurant to get cash back so we could return and pay. It should be noted that there are plenty of sufficient funds available on both of my cards. I have never experienced such lack of customer service. I will never return to this location. Last week (4/12/2024), I ordered a Jalapeno Angus Burger combo on location: 2241 Del Paso Rd, Sacramento, CA...and we went out-of-town and I realized, they give me a different Jalapeno burger with BBQ - which I hate. And worst thing is, they're so small and flat and it looks like it someone stepped over my burger. I'm already pissed with this burger and I took 3 sips on my LARGE drink and I saw that my soda's already gone. My cup was mostly 90% of ice. I've never seen anything like this. I don't know if this woman was a manager, but I do know this female is an older India woman. She has no consideration for us. Today (04/18/2024), we went another location (3776 Northgate Blvd, Sacramento, CA), and there's another older India woman and she handed me a combo what I ordered: large Jalapeno Angus Burger combo. Then, when my family and I got home, I opened my burger...and again, I'm just so disappointed. My burger does not have anything (i.e., lettuce, onion, tomato). All I have is a small beef patty, cheese, and jalapeno. Nothing else. In one week (with two locations) I've already saw Carl Jr's quality had diminished. I don't recommend eating in Carl's Jr right now until they find regular employees. If not, you be disappointed. read more

Wow I've been coming to this Carl's for about 3 years, because I live near it. And today I meet an employee name Victoria a Shift leader and Wow she has excellent guest service. Wanted to use my Samsung Pay it wasn't working at the front register, so she went the extra mile took my phone to another register to do that for me. Most employees wouldn't do that. Then when she brought my food to me she still wanted to make sure I was okay by asking if I need a cup of water and some other things. I usually do not have any issues but of course the one time I have an issue I then get dirty looks and feel discriminated against for my medical condition. I ordered an El Diablo burger and I asked for no bacon. I have an allergy to the nitrates in bacon. When I got home I opened the box and of course there was bacon which forces me to drive back. Going inside I explained how I can not eat the burger and need them to make me a new one. When the cashier explained this to the cooks they all gave me dirty looks like they where doubting my condition. They reluctantly made a new burger. After it was made I asked if I could get any compensation for me having to come back to get a new burger. She told me only if I pay. I am sorry...
