Usually this location has done fairly well. I went yesterday though and they messed up my order by giving sandwiches I didn't order and not having the sandwich I wanted. Didn't notice until I got home. I'm sure an honest mistake and they must have mixed my order with another. Called and talked with a manager and she said to come back by tomorrow with my receipt and they will either re-make the order or refund me. I come back the next day with my receipt wanting a refund since I wasn't in the mood for their food. The person working drive thru said no refund and they can only remake it. They would not budge after I mentioned the manager already said I could get a refund. Didn't want their food so they told me to drive on thru. Very bad not honoring what the manager had already told me on the phone. I took the time to drive there and get my refund. I'm not patronizing them any longer...and for $11 refund? First: I like Carl's jr burgers a lot. In the fast food burger realm they pack a lot of flavor into their sandwich---IN THEORY. I say this because whoever the manager of the Salem area is, they are not putting their customers first. They chose the day mgr at this location, a Hispanic woman- (people I have been trusting to do a great job for several decades now) who has no clue. 2:30 this afternoon- hardly a rush hour time- I mask up and walk into the store. I was THE ONLY person in there, I stood there for 2 1/2 minutes while some kid was showing another kid how to do something. I finally said, excuse me please but could I order a #2. He looks up and says, I'll get to you in a minute, I'm trying to teach this guy something. "Uh, no. I'll have a #2 please it wont take 30 seconds to put the order in". Sorry, you'll just have to wait. "Look, just take the damn order". I'll get the manager he says. Out comes Ms Hispanitude, with dirty hair and says, I told him to do this you'll have to wait. "Could you please take my order, I'll have a #2". I dont wait on people, I'm the manager! Well hoopty doo, arent you special but I'm a paying customer who has been more than patient. Ordered the hand breaded chicken sandwich, onion rings and fried zucchini in the drive through. I was told that the entire store was out of pickles... ok. Then directed to park in front of the store, where I sat for 15 minutes waiting for my order. It's brought out to me, no ranch for the zucchini, onion rings dumped upside in the bag. I drive back around and ask for ranch as well as sauce for the onion rings. I'm rudely told that they have no sauce in the store but ketchup or bbq. No ranch, nothing else. OK. I drive away from this ill-equipped establishment and hit the road, where I find my food truly inedible. I found them to have the worst burgers among all the fast food burger joints, especially the double western cheeseburger.

Their veggie/"no-meat" burger was just a patty-free burger. It was filling and messy. The lettuce chunks were huge! The employees weren't very helpful when we asked them for directions to a Starbucks (for wi-fi) and they charged me almost $4 for the no-meat burger when another Carl's Jr a couple days later charged me less than $2. BOO! (Yeah, I don't know what hit me. I normally don't go for this kind of fast food.) I was a bit bummed because when the drive-thru gal listed the fillings of their no-meat burger, she failed to mention the mayo and cheese. Just said "lettuce, tomato, pickles" and something else. I didn't want the mayo OR the cheese, but was too hungry/spacey to guess that she would skip over some items. It was an OK drive-thru burger joint experience. Just waited on a line 5 cars deep and had the best experience. Every car was handled quickly and efficiently and my order was all correct. I love that they have keto and weight watcher options, it keeps me coming back. I must recommend the chicken stars for kids and the chicken club in a lettuce wrap for low corners. So delightful! I will always choose this restaurant over McDonald's. I also hear their coffee is bomb, have yet to try. read more

Keeping in mind that I'm just not into burger joints like I used to be, Carls Jr is pretty good, and better than most. My dad and I had the Sourdough Patty with jalapeños and my son got the steak burger. The sauce used on the sourdough patty burger was really good although I wished the jalapenos were hotter, I understand that restaurants usually don't serve habanero-hot food items. The steak burger was awesome and I'll be getting that next time! The fries were very mehhhhhhhh. My kids loved their cute star shaped chicken nuggets and the toys in kids meals were super cute. Excellent customer Service review !!!! We stopped by last night to grab a quick dinner for my son and myself after he got off work from a nearby fast food location and while ordering in drive through we got a phone call to also pick up food for another member of the family who didn't know what they wanted. Our order taker was super polite and waited for us to figure out what everyone was going to order and I really appreciated this accommodation. My son mentioned we should give this guy a little extra for his patience since he knows what it's like. I never tip at fast food but I'm really glad we did. I think he probably appreciated the thought behind the extra couple dollars (I'm poor) more than the money. He also hooked us up with a few treats and extras. This location used to do really well, but lately they seem to be going down hill each time we go here. Today, they messed up my burger (quickly replaced it tho!) but when I got home 5 minutes later, the patty was cold. Absolutely no warmth to it. My burger and my fathers burger had waaaaay too much Mayo and ketchup on them which made it gross to eat and made the bread soggy by the time you get half way thru it. This was the worst experience at Carl's Jr I've ever had. I don't typically post reviews. I tried calling the restaurant to chat with them directly but the posted number was eventually picked up by a fax machine squeal. The 1/2lb original 6 dollar burger I received was stone cold. The patty must have been cooked hours beforehand but there was no attempt to warm it back up. The cheese was completely unmelted as a decent indicator that the burger was assembled cold. The Big Chicken sandwich was at least somewhat warm but had been over cooked to an almost burnt deep brown. It was topped with one huge piece of lettuce stem. The fries were ok if not hot. Perhaps this was just a one off because I special ordered my burger without tomato or pickles. No restaurant should let food go out the window like that however. Carl's Jr. is the worst of both worlds; you get the terrible, overprocessed, overcaloried, awful-for-you usual fast food, but it isn't fast. Rolled in on a Saturday morning for the first (and last) time looking to get a quick breakfast to go. Ordered two biscuit sandwiches. There were two tables with people at them in the whole place and they already had food. I didn't time it, but I ended up waiting a LONG time for two stupid egg sandwiches. I finally walked up to the counter and the guy saw me and the unhappy look on my face and checked on them before I even asked. He told me there were "making fresh biscuits" and it would be just another minute or two. He finally brought them out and did apologize for the delay. They tasted fine and were pretty cheap (2 for $3, there was some promotion or something going on) but I won't be going back. Hey, I like Carls Jr. just like millions of other Americans. What I don't like is being called a Bitch by some punk ass manning the drive thru. Here's my story: So I go through the drive through with a co-worker and as I'm ordering, the punk inside keeps saying, "Huh? What was that?" So I talk louder and louder to ensure that he could hear me. I'm not being a bitch, and I'm someone who will totally admit to being a bitch if I am indeed being a bitch. But when it comes to drive thrus and fast food, I KNOW BETTER than to be a bitch because I know what might happen if I am. Hence, I'm on my best behavior. Anyway, so I finish yelling my order at the box and the guy that seems to be deaf. As I'm about to pull away, I hear a very definite "bitch!" uttered through the box. I stop. I look at my co-worker. I said, "Did he just..." and he nodded slowly at me. I was shocked. When I got to the window (it was a different person delivering the food), I asked for a manager. When I told the manager what happened, he gave me a look of sheer horror. He ran away, came back, and told me that the punk ass kid admitted to it and blah blah blah here's your food for free. I look in the window and see the punk standing there hangin his head in shame. Yeah, that's right! Anyway, about the food now. Our family is traveling down to the Oregon coast and we stopped for lunch. No bathrooms of course because of COVID. We ordered 4 burgers and fries, one with out mayo (my son won't eat it). They forgot to take the mayo off and the fries were so salty and cold that we couldn't eat them. My 6'4" teenage son had nothing to eat. We ate at Baxter store a couple weeks ago. Food is so so but the crew was amazing. I recently read that kids don't want these "dead end" jobs. This crew seemed to be happy and interested in what they were doing. The standout guy though was Reynaldo. From the moment we walked up to the counter he treated us as though we were in a high end restaurant. Showed interest when we weren't sure about what we wanted and politely and kindly offered suggestions. Was articulate and polite. I don't think he views this as a dead end but as a way to gain experience and show initiative. If I still owned a business I would hire him in a minute. Good job Reynaldo. The problem here, is that every time I've recently ordered at any Carl's junior the workers have gotten my order wrong and they won't remake it or refund it in store. My first job ever was working at a Carl's Jr back in high school. Surprisingly, that experience actually endeared CJ's to me and whenever I'm on a road trip I make a point to stop at least at one.... as was the case with our stop in Salem en route from Seattle to Sacramento. Speed is a quintessential component of "fast food" (especially when you're on a road trip) and unfortunately, for whatever reason, this CJ's was just plain slow during my visit. Despite not appearing very busy I had to wait quite a while for my simple to-go order. Other than the speed issue this CJ's was just fine. Went to CJs to satisfy my late night burger and zucchini craving. The service was excellent; no complaints here!! It seemed as if the employees were a bit extra friendly so maybe corporate got on their case about the previous bad reviews? Hey, whatever works! I was glad to get my extra ranch sauce without being charged extra and without the dirty looks. This particular CJ's was very clean and spotless. No messy tables, no crud on the floor, heck even outside was clean and spiffy. CJs has a new thing where if you have an Android phone and download their app, you can spin the wheel and get discounts and even free food and prizes. My hubby and I both won something and the assistant manager had no problem giving us what we won. All you do is show the winning item that pops up on your phone to the employee so they can punch in the code. It's great! No papers!! Saves trees!! I'll definitely return when I get another one of my zucchini cravings. :) read more

My family and I went here after a long day. We were starving and wanted some good fast food and Carl's Jr is close to our house. We ordered several items including 2 beef super nachos that were inedible. 1 of the nachos didn't even have any meat on it and both were so over cooked that we couldn't even separate the chips. My wife got 3 crunchy tacos, all of which were soggy and falling apart and they didn't even have cheese on them. My chicken soft tacos were full of fat and pretty disgusting.
