Just got off the road, and we stopped at this Carls. I got the Big Carl, and some large fries and drinks. We were a little hungry. We sat inside had some food to eat. Brought a group of adults with disabilities here for lunch. We all paid for food. Some of us paid a whopping $17 for food I might add. Staff was extremely rude when we asked for the bathroom code. Manager said he was busy and had no time to deal with us. Another customer even took the dude aside and lectured him about customer service in Spanish. Manager then yelled at us after he left. Great example of how adults with disabilities are treated as second class citizens in SB, just for existing and asking to use the bathroom. read more

possibly the best fast food place in the area. workers seem well trained and organized with professionalism. they were also very hospitable, even coming to the table asking if we needed anything. food came out before we could even finish getting our drinks. this was during christmas night rush hour so i was extremely pleased with the experience. food was hot and was pretty much the best carls jr food could get. also very clean and the bathroom is passcode locked to avoid any homeless people. will definitely be coming back here over mcdonalds more often read more

The food is what you expect from Carl's Jr. Tasty but way too salty. I think the drink guy might be speaking English but I am not sure. I think he is refusing to give me another drink refill. Not even if I pay for it. I thought I was minding my business after eating lunch. I guess he is too busy with his other duties of standing around the drink machine doing nothing. Fortunately, McDonald's is a couple of blocks north and Habit (which is actually pretty good) is a couple of blocks south, so it is not hard to find a place where people want to work. read more

Wow, I had to repeat myself 6 times to ask a question about a breakfast items and they still didn't get it. Took 2 people to try to understand what I was asking. the guy that came on after the girl and said "oh I'm sorry it's because the Mic is not that great." And I said are you serious you still don't understand me? He said no. I said, never mind just forget about it. And he said OK, so he certainly understood that. If you cannot get people to properly understand what you're trying to order in the first place you know your order is not going to be right. A while back Carl's Jr. sold biscuits and gravy for breakfast and I did not see it on the menu, so I was simply trying to ask if they still sold it or not and for the life of them they could not understand. read more

Place is a toilet. Overrun with homeless like the rest of Santa Barbara. I usually make a purchase if using the restroom at a business. Did not this time cause ran out of restaurant and back to car as fast as I could. Was third place had to try to use toilet in this area cause too many homeless waiting in line at other places. Stopped same place last trip. Never stopping in Santa Barbara again if can help it. Homelessness is impacting tourism. City ought to do something if the state won't. Worked with homeless for years. These people are on drugs or alcohol, need mental help, or like the majority of current homeless in Ca just don't want to work. Avoid Santa Barbara at all costs or at least this part if it. I went to this Carl's Jr at 9:45 on December 12 and the worker who made my food was very lazy and did not care about making the food at all he was throwing food on the quesadillas with no care in the world and other peoples burgers looked very sloppy as well. We came here on a Thursday evening. Didn't see security and the patrons were your average take out people. This was my first time at this location although I've been attending the one on Upper State for over two decades. Our food had special orders (no tomatoes for example). It was ready quickly and exactly like we ordered. I don't recommend the new ranch bacon fries however. It's very short on the dressing. Another plus: they have cherry Coke on tap. It's one of the few places that has this, and drinking it from a can just doesn't do it. I will be returning here for sure. read more

I love coming here! This place has really nice workers, and the food is great. As a vegetarian, I love how they have a vegetarian option! They have what is called an Impossible Burger which is made of a juicy plant based patty with lettuce, mayo, and melted cheese! They even have an Impossible burger that has barbecue sauce Even if your not vegetarian, this burger is so good and it's something you should try at least once. My sister who is vegan, gets this burger just without mayo or cheese. read more

I love Carls Jr's burgers. I like this location as I've always received good service. It also helps that I can see my food being cooked after I order it. I'm OK with there being no drive-thru partly because I don't like using them and I agree with the whole pollution thing. Large parking lot. The place is clean with lots of seating. Serve yourself soda, tea, coffee station, and salsa bar with other condiments. Some items are a little pricey for fast food, but they do have some $5 box meals that includes alot of food. The people are friendly. The food came out hot, and overall decent. read more
