I came here as I was passing through Santa Barbara. The parking lot is tiny and so is the inside but they had a lot of tables outside. The cashier was very friendly and helpful as I was using a coupon. I was sad to see they didn't have the specialty lemonades that I love so I got a Coke Zero. The food was good but it did take a bit to get it. Everything was very hot and fresh. The salad had a lot of dressing which was nice but it was almost too much in some areas. I ordered on line for a specific pickup time. When I got there it took at least 5 minutes to be acknowledged, though there was no one in front of me. I asked for packets of condiments. The albacore tuna sandwich that we had for years and years and years is now an ahi tuna sandwich and is terrible! It's nothing like the sandwich that made this restaurant great when it started. This is the smallest and dirtiest the habit I've ever been to. The service was good. We came in the middle of lunch rush so I could normally excuse some mess but this location is so filthy. It's truly not a wonder with the 2 single occupant restrooms opening into the little indoor tables they offer. Probably healthier to sit on their patio. I had a horrible experience at another Habit in Santa Barbara that shall not be named and was reached out to and given char-burger tickets to redeem for free burgers to give the place another try. I went into this Habit location today and tried to use my ticket and they said they didn't have the reader??? I asked if she could input the code that's displayed on the coupon and she said she couldn't. So I just had a bad experience, was given tickets as an attempt of the Habit to redeem itself, and then was denied and had to spend my own money to give them another attempt to make a good meal. Was passing through CARPINTERIA, and decided to come here because I figured their food is pretty consistent. The food may be, but not the rest of the place. This location was not very nicely maintained as the others I've been to. One of the 2 all gender bathrooms appeared to be out of service, and, the other was pretty disgusting. Upon entry, there was trash all over the outside patio. we probably should have just left but we were just making a stop off the highway and wanted to make a quick stop and in and out was super busy. I went to the restroom and the graffiti on the bathroom was unexcusable. My wife used the other restroom and there was no toilet paper. No restroom checks were being done. The manager was dismissive when asked about the key to the restroom. We took our food to go and quite frankly the food was mediocre at best. it was definitely not worth $7 for this burger. In-N-Out will put the habit out of business. this is the second time I visited this exact location and neither time have I had a positive experience. I have visited other Habit locations and this is truly the worst one. When my wife complained to the manager about the overall filthiness of the restaurant, the manager argued that he was busy and short-staffed. No responsibility, no accountability, nothing but excuses. There were five crew members in various stations working on our one order. Can't go wrong with the Habit, they haven't gotten an order wrong, which the service is great. Menu is like other Habits. It's not the original Habit, but being next to my workplace makes things so much easier. Food is always consistent and no issues on taste. The only dilemma you'll get is the lunch time parking.
