The workers themselves were nice but I'm disgusted with what I encountered couple days ago. My order was wrong as I had ordered a double burger, and I got a single patty burger. I went back and I told them my order was wrong and I was communicated that they had charged me for a single patty. And asked them if they can charge me the difference and give me a new burger and the lady communicated if they took my burger and threw it away she would have to charge me the full amount and suggested that I just pay for an extra patty and I said okay. Mind you I had already opened it and touched it and the lady was like we will just add you the patty even though it was already opened. The reason for this post is because from working at a restaurant we are not allowed to take opened food to the back counter due to causing cross contamination and find the need to report it to health department. I remember when Carl's first came out with this, the pitch was basically a "burger that tastes like it costs six dollars, but at a lower price," or some such. Apparently that six dollar burger will cost you close to six dollars now, and in a small combo? Seven bux plus. I rolled into our brand new neighborhood Carl's Jr., today, to fortify myself for a road trip I am leaving on shortly (yes, many burgers will be consumed!). This gleaming structure opened a couple months ago, replacing a KFC (which we miss, actually). The counter girl mumbled something about "Would you like to try our XXXXX six dollar burger?" And I replied, "why yes, I think I would." I glanced at the menu board and ordered the Original Six Dollar Burger combo (about $7.50), which is described on the Carl's website at charbroiled 100% Angus beef patty, two slices of melted American cheese, two slices of tomatoes, mayo, mustard, pickles, ketchup and red onions on a toasted sesame seed bun. I was the only dining room customer. The counter lady gave me my number and I waited - about 8 minutes. No sweat. Now, the difference between what I ordered and what I received? I received the big beef patty, between toasted sourdough bread, a couple kinds of cheese, and bacon. I know they used to offer something like that in the six dollar line, but I don't see it on the current menu. Whatever. It's pretty tasty. Unlike the "big 3", this patty actually tastes like beef. It's a shitload of calories and carbs, for sure. Carl's also features "natural cut fries" now (I have never figured out what "unnatural cut" would mean), and they were pretty OK. Better than Wendy's product of the same ilk. They still taste similar to an extruded product to me. Would I have it again? I think so. But maintaining my girlish figure would require me to skip the bread and fries. With a fork, the six dollar burger would be quite nice. I'd like to pay less, of course. And by the way? 100% Angus beef? Yawn. 80% of the beef cattle in the US are Angus. If it was 100% "Certified" Angus, that would be something to brag about. read more

Stopped by for a large fry on my lunch break last night. I waited 24 minutes because the line was so long. That's okay, it's peak dinner hours, I understand. But, when the car directly ahead of me pulled out of line because they were tired of waiting so long, I arrived at the window and the cashier asked if I had "x items", I said no, I just had a large fry. The car in front of me left. He rang me up and gave me an extra sauce for free, "for the wait". I appreciated the thought. But the cook brought up the TWO FULL BAGS OF FOOD which should've gone to the car ahead of me, and the cashier threw it ALL away, even after I asked if I could just purchase it (my coworkers would've eaten it happily). So. Not even really sure where to start. A friend stopped in to get a soda on her lunch. She pulls up to the drive-thru and the friendly recording comes on "Welcome to Carl's Jr. Would you like to try the new natural burger?". She replied "No thanks". While deciding what she was going to order and waiting for someone to tell her to go ahead and place her order the man on the other end comes on and say (insert extreme attitude in the voice) "Let me know when you are ready" to which she replied "Oh. I'm sorry, you sound upset. I didn't know you were ready for me to order".... and this is where it goes WAY down hill! He replied "You wouldn't like your job either if you had to listen to this fu#$ing thing all day". Really? This is the kind of customer service that you give? I thought you had to go to Las Vegas to Dicks Last Resort to get cussed at! She asked to talk to a manager (Lordes) who stated that it was actually the recording she heard. Really? Newly built in 2012, replacing the KFC adjacent to Buster's. It's a combined Carl's Jr/Green Burrito, so the Mexican menu is available. Friendly staff, and a spacious dining area. Not so great, I've been charged for items I didn't receive multiple times from the drive thru (check your bag before you drive away!) and if you go after eight and there is no one else in line, there is a good chance your food will be smashed and cold like mine has been a few times.
