This time I opted for the Pastrami Heat, a double cheeseburger fortified with spicy grilled onions and a not-too-large topper of Wagyu pastrami. I don't usually go for such an elaborate burger, but I just had a hankering. And while I won't say the burger was small, it was not as ridiculously enormous as you might get other places. The double patties were juicy and flavorful, nicely seasoned and coated in properly melted American cheese. The spicy grilled onions did pack a nice punch, but there weren't a lot of them, so their effect was minimal (definitely could use more of those). House-made pickles were pleasingly artisan, with a layered, briny flavor far more enjoyable than the commercial dill chips usually deployed. Finally, the Wagyu pastrami was really quite good. Marbled and juicy without be too fatty or too rich, thinly shaved and portioned just large enough to make its presence known without becoming unwelcome halfway through. Though decadent for sure, this was an enjoyable treat that was only about 50% guilt-inducing. Fries were fresh, hot, crispy and well done, cooked in beef tallow. Also a treat. Prices are in line with what you're paying at other fast casual burger places like Five Guys or Burger Lounge, but the quality here is definitely a step above, so you could almost say it's a deal. This review is not about the food or quality thereof, This review is about the incompetence that the person filling a simple order could not even do, and the lack of action taken by the store to rectify the situation. My wife went to the drive through, ordered a very simple order, a wester bacon cheeseburger and a famous star, and two criscut fries. She gets home, about a 3 mile drive from there, I look in the bag, and it has two criscut fries, a famous star, and a regular fries. I call the store, and speak with someone claiming he is the manager, (that is after finally someone answered the phone). The first call rang for 2 minutes and then a second call back in when the phone auto disconnected due to no answer. I advised the person claiming he was the manager that the order was missing an item and had a different item in it that was not ordered. Its not about the money, it is about the inconvenience of having to return to somewhere to pick up something that should not have been missed in the first place. The so called manager after explaining to him quite a few times the order was missing the one burger, apologizes and all he can do is offer me a free meal. I don't want the free meal, just what I paid for, but not at the expense of driving for 10 minutes while my fries get cold to have to then physically walk into the store to ask for my burger. I suggested he simply issue a refund for the missed item on my card charge which is easily trackable in their system, and he went silent, did not say a word until I repeated myself and he simply said sorry. Frankly, that is not the point, I understand it was a mistake, but how a mistake is handled makes all the difference. I have been going to this Carls JR. for 4 years, and this is the first time I have ever had the order wrong or had to deal with such incompetence. I will be contacting carls JR corporate, because what should have happened, did not. Issue a credit for the amount of the missing item, I already was told sorry, so I don;t need another apology, but I do want my money back for the missing item. I have several choices in fast food burgers all within a couple of miles of me. I could go to in n out, mc donalds, the habit, burger king, etc, but I chose carls jr because I like the taste and was in the area. Poor customer service won't prevent me from going back, but take care of making sure the order is right. read more

This carls Jr is the worst I have lived in Sherman oaks since 1998 and everytime I go to this one thinking it might be different or simply because everything else is too far I have the same bad service. the drive through staff always have attitude the ordering screen is broken so you never get a total til you get to the window they don't greet you when you pull up theyre uniforms and the store are almost always dirty. The honey mustard containers are never full when they give them to you but act like its a hassle to give you more if you ask. Im disgusted wit this place the best part of this Carls Jr is the public restrooms they have available. other than that. oh yeah and the bacon swiss sandwhich that shows a chicken patty in the picture is actually two chicken strips .....I Hope they close this one down and put a KfC or a mcdonalds instead .....or maybe even another 711 read more

Its weird to review a fast food restaurant. . . but after doing a full reverse in their drive through today I had to. I have worked in the area several years and have come here for lunch every few months. Last time I went through the drive through, I ordered a Santa Fe Chicken combo (small). Pulled up and realized a SMALL combo is nearly $13 with tax. . . uhmmm what?!? Am I all of a sudden NOT at a fast food chain? Well, the deed was already done and I paid for that meal. I had totally forgotten about their pricing until I pulled up today. The cheapest combo on the menu is just under $9. I can go down the street to The Habit and get a great combo for about the same price but with a much better burger. I will not be returning to this location due to their pricing alone. I give this location zero effing stars cause unlike what everything says "even the signs in their own freaking window" they are supposed to be open 24 hours a day "the drive thru" but yet they have the drive thru blocked off and all though there is a completely rude employee just sitting in the dinning area watching television yelling at people who try to go in cause the drive thru is closed. If I was the owner of this location I would fire every one of the worthless jerks on the night shift cause not only did they run off this customer tonight, they ran off this customer for good!!! The staff at this location at night allows vagrants to bathe and live in their bathrooms. The smell is so horrendous that we had to sit at the opposite end of the restaurant just to eat our food distant was so bad. The employees do this on purpose because they do not want to work and they want to keep customers out of the store. It's obvious because the employees did not even want to help us. There were two of us and we were the only two other people in the restaurant besides the vagrant. They all do drugs together in the store at night. There's a reason why this restaurant location has more one star reviews than five star reviews because where there is smoke, there is fire what the customers are saying about this restaurant are completely true read more

im on strike with this carls jr. the first time i went it was awesome. three times in a row after that they messed up my order completely. the lady that works the drive thru doesnt understand american english because she is foreign. i dont mind foreign people but if you cant understand english your job shouldnt be to take peoples food orders. also everytime she messed the order up she acted like she understood what i wanted and then i open the bag and its all wrong. read more

I ordered a sausage, egg and biscuit. I watched as the cook prepared the food and noticed that after cooking the egg she threw it on a tray without any covering on it. Very unsanitary and I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I informed the manager that they have to be careful on how they prepare food and asked for a refund. I will never eat here again. read more

This would be an average, decent Carl's Jr overall except they are always severely understaffed and as a result have the slowest moving drive through imaginable. I live almost right next to it, but it's faster for me to drive half a mile to the nearest McDonald's. If there's another Carl's Jr near you, go to that one instead. read more
