The place is famous for its burgers and the reviews on yelp were so good that I decided to give it a try. Ordered Chicken jalapeño burger with criss cross fries and a thick Oreo shake . The shake was outstanding!! Super thick creamy and very refreshing. The criss cross fries came second super crispy and fresh. Thankfully not loaded with salt! The chicken tenders in the burger were super tasty. But the overall assembly of the burger didn't go well with it. I'm not disappointed but it didn't live up to the hype. Btw they also do a bun less burger (patty wrapped in lettuce) for people on KetoDiet. Will I be back again? Hell yes! Will try another burger though. But the shake and fries will now talk to me in my dreams. Yummy! Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambience: 3/5 Must say though, the place was super clean and well maintained.

The downtown Vancouver Carl's Jr is a short walk from my work and I tend to have it occasionally either as a bite after work or for lunch. It's okay and it's something different if you are looking for something that isn't the usual quick service restaurant options. Had the Famous Star with cheese combo on this visit.

I've been wanting to try this place because I've heard great things about their criss cut fries, or more popularly known as "waffle" fries. It's kind of at an awkward location, since it's not immediately close to the skytrain -- I probably wouldn't have known this place existed if I hadn't looked it up specifically on my phone. We walked in and noticed that the seating area was EXTREMELY nice -- leather couches and a modern looking set up. I was actually pretty impressed by how it didn't look like a cheap fast food joint. We ordered the criss cut fries (only comes in 1 size - medium) to "eat-in" -- they give you a number that you're supposed to put at the edge of the table and they bring your order out to you so you don't have to stand and wait for your food. The wait was kind of long. 10 minutes for a single order of fries, which is much slower than what I'm used to at fast food restaurants. But the server apologized for the wait, so I didn't mind too much in the end. The fries were delicious! Nicely seasoned, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the portion was bigger than I thought. Overall I'm impressed! I'd definitely be back to try their burgers

It's fast food. Again, I know what to expect. But seriously, for this: http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/carls-jr-vancouver-3?select=fIv96VZ-yuChh3dv0b-YKA#yHrcvgnOtQcLDyqX4BTrVw $11.75? Even though it was a double patty, bacon, cheese, and a small onion ring, with fries? Everything being frozen and all. Really? Granted, I am willing to try everything at least once, this is not worth repeating. I walk by this place a lot. It's busy during the weekday lunch hour and I've seen the line ups. I came on a weekend. No crowds at all. $11.75 for this combo and I didn't even order soda. I had bottled water. Should have asked for tap water. Even In-n-Out is at a fraction of this price.

That's for their milk-shake, maybe not diner style like Smile's or Modern Burger, but sure beats the rest of the quick service restaurants like Burger King, McD's etc. You do see them hand scoop, just right thickness.

A good friend of mine told me this was their favorite place so Saturday afternoon we stopped in after volunteering. We both enjoyed their portobello swiss burger with cross cross French fry medallions. Amongst a sea of Vancouver burger offerings I feel this fantastic fast food hotspot is head and shoulders above the rest. Non-traditional incredibly satisfying hit-that-empty-spot-in-your-tummy best kept secret. Free refills and the medium drinks are gargantuan. Check em out

While I was walking on the streets of Vancouver doing some shopping with my wife I see that "STAR" from far away and I'm like... what??? They have Carl's Jr in Canada??? The answer was yes they do. I hadn't been to a Carl's in years in LA and the menu was really unfamiliar. I thought it was funny that they didn't have the "6 dollar burger" which wasn't really 6 bucks (it was less) in the States on the menu because all the burgers are over 6 bucks... that I had to just laugh. The 6 dollar burger if we had such a thing would have to be called the 16 dollar burger in Canada because everything is more expensive here. Meal combos which are not doubled (meat) were typically around or over 10 dollars each. The food is big, the boxes they come in are big. Doubles are huge. I just ended up getting an extra bacon Western on a fresh baked bun and my wife had the bacon avocado which also comes on a fresh baked bun. I had upgraded my fries to a bacon poutine which I'm guessing they don't have in California. They did have bacon ranch fries but I wanted poutine. I hadn't had poutine in about a week! They give you a number when you order and you just have a seat where ever and they end up bringing it to you. The seating is really limited here. There are maybe 2 or 3 tables for 2 on the level of the counter and about 10 or so tables "below" on street level with only a few tables that are more than 2 seaters and they also have a window facing counter bar style seating. Anyway the staff is really friendly and the people bringing your orders to you ask if there's anything else they can bring to you. One of them even took my tray and garbage away. I would have done it myself but the employee said he didn't mind. The food is ok and if I'm going to have a different kind of fast food burger this is a nice alternative from say Wendy's or McDonald's. It's more expensive but the food is different too. I wouldn't say it's as good as 5 Guys for a bit more money but it's decent. The fries are about the size and shape as what McD's offers, shoestring style.

The burgers are good but are on the expensive side. The milkshakes are pretty good too. It is just OK, there are better options out there.

Solid reviews on Yelp had us on the way. What a great little spot! There used to be so many diners of this style, it's a shame so many are no longer there for us to enjoy a simpler time. It's 100% diner right down to the mini juke boxes in each booth to the red and chrome bar stools. Even found an old Kellogg's individual cereal box display like one we had in my parents diner in Ontario, that was very cool! The service was spot on with our two servers working in unison to get waters, tea, orders, delivering food, cleaning up like a well oiled team. They even have old fashioned milk shakes and an Hamilton Beach machine to blend them up. WOW, nostalgia. The food came out quickly and was cooked exactly as we asked, and it was plentiful and a solid breakfast for the price. My potatoes were a little greasy, to me, but everything else was perfect. The bacon, three slices, of good quality and perfectly crispy as ordered. We will most certainly return to The Templeton when downtown again. Our hotel close by, not so much, but this little gem, unquestionably!

Portable old fashion jukeboxes on each table, too bad none are functioning, only for show, could have used a little Elvis Presley during my meal. Service staff so complimented the diner atmosphere, smiley, friendly, hustling used plates off the tables and eagerly waiting for their returning daily familiar customers. Ordered the classic benny and huevos rancheros. Hollandaise sauce on the benny was excellent with a slight lemon tanginess. Eggs runny, smoked ham on a crispy muffin. Heaven's perfect breakfast creation. Huevos rancheros could use improvement. Scrambled eggs with green pepper and onions could have used some additional seasoning. Black beans didn't seem fresh but then again I'm not a black bean expert, rosemary potatoes were crispy with a moist center. The retro vibe was 5 star, I was expecting retro .25 drinks and $5 breakfasts but alas inflation is an unstoppable monster in our everyday lives.

After going to a local sporting event and looking for a late night bite to eat, we decided to come give them a try. The interior is quite minimalist, and the menu is simple. While they were preparing our food, we made our way down the long hallway to the back where the speakeasy was located. We just wanted to peek our heads in, but didn't stay for a drink. The cool thing about Hundy is that the speakeasy will serve their food while apparently also serving up some tasty cocktails. But back to Hundy and the food. The cheeseburger was absolutely delicious and the french fries were cooked to crispy golden perfection. As for the poutine, it was some of the best that we had on our trip.
