My interactions as interpreter are always flawless and the waiting time for everyone I have helped with my language skills have been always minimal (which has saved me time as well). I was sent to this place for a CT scan by insurance. Everything was ok however their billing department leaves a lot to be desired. I was sent a bill for a copay which was not covered which was fine. However, I was sent to collections with no bill sent out to me. The billing dept. stated that a bill was sent out to me but no bill was received. Given this day and age a bill cannot be sent electronically with the patient consent to avoid this issue. The collection agency that they used sucks and I will advise my new insurance provider to not use them. read more

Carlsbad Imaging Center is the best. I have been coming here for the past 5 years or so and I highly recommend it. I always feel so welcomed and when I am getting my MRI I feel like the technician truly cares about my comfort. I appreciate how they stay in communication with me while I am in the machine and they let me know how long each section will be. I have a bit of claustrophobia and anxiety so knowing how long and when I will be done each step of the way is extremely helpful. These folks were fantastic and very friendly. I had a foot x-ray and they said the Urgent Care would have the results in about two hours when in reality they had it in 1/2 hour. I called Urgent Care since I didn't hear from them and they said that they haven't checked the FAX machine. I called back to Carlsbad Imaging and she knew exactly the time she sent it and said she would send it again so I could follow up with Urgent Care. She was correct and the Urgent Care never bothered to look. I am now going to go to CORE Orthopedic and they can get my images electronically from this group. So you don't need to know why I was there but it's no big secret: I had to have an MRI :) This place is great. Conveniently located off Palomar Airport Road and what about the check-in? Friendly, concise and comfortable. They were great. The wait? Right on time - no waiting. The MRI staff? Excellent! I wish I could remember their names, but I had one lovely lady and a gentleman and both were very comforting. I realize an MRI can be a little intimidating, but they set my heart to rest right away. The facility was clean, restrooms were super clean and the process rolled very smoothly. You secure your items in a safe locker so you don't have to worry. This place was great. Able to get an appointment quickly. They ran on time and were very efficient. Friendly too. The Technician, Adam, was knowledgeable and painless with the IV. Couldn't ask for more. Other imaging places had waits from 6 weeks to 4 months for an appointment. More medical offices should refer to this place rather than only referring to a select few imaging places with which they may have some sort of agreement or arrangement. read more

I have to say - these guys are pros! I am not afraid of anything except I am a big old chicken when it comes to getting an MRI. I just can't do it. Even with the open MRI, I was feeling trapped. My techs saw my apprehension and did everything they could to make me comfortable, to turning up the AC (I was burning up!) to the mask they gave me to put over my eyes. I put it on my chest just to be my emotional support mask, I guess :) They talked to me the whole time and when I finally got in the thing, once they put my arms out to the sides (outside of the machine) I knew I was fine!!!! I got through it with absolutely no problem! These guys know what they are doing! read more

The only good part of this experience was that the wait times for MRI's are a lot shorter than at other locations throughout NorthCounty. The negative however was that the contrast IV wasn't applied correctly and a small amount was very painfully injected into muscle tissue.Very aware and cautious about the possible side effects of contrast in the first place, this was a very distressing experience. I had multiple IV's in the other arm before this experience and it was never a problem. I expect very qualified and experienced personnel when it comes to setting a contrast IV and that just didn't appear to be the case. Please don't train on patients with contrast...Do not recommend!! read more

I had never had an MRI before so I was a bit nervous. They were very kind! I also need a cane to walk & they told me to park in the back for a shorter walk: that really helped. Lobby is clean & attractive, paperwork organized & wait time about 20 min, like everywhere. The music was really nice & I was lulled into relaxing to old soft, happy rock. Loved it! A brain MRI isn't exactly fun but the women were so kind and thoughtful, doing everything possible to get it done and encourage you along the way. This place was amazing! It was so easy and quick and affordable. They only charged me $400 and I didn't need any insurance. Other places quoted me 2-3x as much. They emailed me the MRI and gave me 2x copies to take home. I will always get future MRIs here it was so easy and the staff was so nice! I had to get an MRI for my neck pain and I started having a panic attack due to the part of the machine being close to my face. I thought open meant it was all completely open. Made an appointment 2 weeks advance, after waiting for authorization approval from my insurance and going through hoops to book an appointment with them just for them to call me a day before to tell me "we are canceling your appointment because our ultrasound machine is under maintenance" then they proceed to tell me they can reschedule me two week out?? Canceling my appointment and then you don't have any other morning appointments until two week is ridiculous. Customer service here is horrible. If you're pregnant and wanting an ultrasound please go somewhere else this facility will make you go in circles and waste your time. read more

I walked in for an appointment today and the receptionist handed me forms to fill out (not a very pleasant person to begin with). I was there for a workman's comp appointment to get an MRI. Upon reviewing that paperwork they wanted me to sign a patient financial responsibility form, to which I signed after crossing off the line about me paying, since it is not my responsibility and if they were allowed to require payment from their workman's comp clients, I would have provided my own insurance. Anyway, the girl at the front desk very rudely told me I HAD to sign everything (which was already signed) and called her billing lady to come up. LITERALLY THE RUDEST WOMAN EVER. You can tell she either hates her job, or is just a miserable human being. She told me she cancelled my appointment, while she had already turned her back and was walking away. Awful customer service and the lack of care was astounding. So, now I'm left in pain, without imaging, for another 2+ weeks. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. read more

I am a Veteran contracted through the VA/TRIWEST. I went today for my 1st MRI and their paperwork says I have to pay anything insurance does not. The contracts that providers receive says they CANNOT bill the Veteran. So I crossed out the language and told them that it was a violation of their contract to bill Veterans or hold them on any way financially responsible. The "billing person" kept saying it's standard paperwork and every patient including Veterans contracted through the VA. I told them that is a violation of their contract (like 5 times). She told me if I didn't want to sign they would not see me. So IF YOU ARE A VETERAN CONTRACTED OUT THROUGH COMMUNITY CARE DO NOT SIGN FOR FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY ANYWHERE!!! I would also be weary of companies who violate terms and conditions of federal contracts. Update: the reply from the office was what they told me. Your lawyers need the VA contract so they can remove that financial responsibility paperwork. It is NOT a Veterans responsibility to pay for community care services. Period. I've contacted VA VBA, VHA, and OIG. If you don't fix it you will lose those contracts and you will be audited. If you have charged Veterans for community care via a VA contract you will be held liable both financially and legally. read more

The 2 stars are for one of the girls that checked me in, it went smooth and she was kind and professional. I booked this place because I'm severely claustrophobic. I did wait almost 35 min after my appointment time to be called in by this young unprofessional guy that had no bedside manners. He repeatedly asked if I'm wearing a bra with underwire, I said no. He takes it upon himself to tell me to take everything off except my tank top and he gave me a pair of scrub shorts. I left all my stuff in a locker and was dressed within a minute and proceeded to wait in the lobby waiting area where he said someone would call me. So I'm sitting in this area with no socks no blanket and I'm cold and anxious. I watched another lady get escorted in with a female that was very kind, offered her options and was very professional unlike the guy that checked me in. Five minutes go by and I'm getting more anxious, 10 minutes go by and now I'm thinking of leaving, finally at about 17 minutes I get called into the MRI room by another young unprofessional guy that did not explain anything and proceeds to put a cage over my face when I lay down. I kindly asked why is this over my face and he said oh you have to wear that because you're getting a brain MRI and oh by the way this is gonna take about 45 minutes to an hour. He took no time to make me feel comfortable or relaxed. So now I'm partially undressed, having an anxiety attack and want to leave because my claustrophobia kicked in big time from both these dudes. In the end I have 2 rude guys staring at me and eventually tell me well your gonna need to get sedated and reschedule. I've never felt treated so unprofessional and awkward like I did at this place. I will never return to this location. I ended up getting my MRI done in a closed machine elsewhere and was treated wonderfully and made to feel at ease through the entire process. The thought of having A brain MRI terrified me. However from the moment I walked in to Carlsbad Imaging Center I was put at ease. The office was clean, bright and offered a non medicalized ambiance that was calming and peaceful. From the moment I walked in I was greeted by a friendly and welcoming front desk person who was kind, personable and actually smiled, a rarity anymore in many medical offices. From there my experience only got better. Marcella, the MRI technician, was calming and thoughtful in her approach to me having knowledge of my intense claustrophobia She offered a blackout like eye mask, something never offered to me before when having prior MRIs elsewhere and made the great suggestion I put it on BEFORE the head cage was placed and that suggestion alone made a huge difference for me because that was the one thing I was most dreading and her suggestion eradicated that huge fear and truly helped me in my ability to actually successfully get through the MRI! Also, throughout the MRI, she consistently let me know how long each segment was going to be and that was extremely helpful because I could focus on my breathing, another great suggestion made by Adam, and counting backward on the amount of time so my brain was focused on breathing and counting and not freaking out about how how much longer I had to be in there. I do want to also mention that before my MRI, I encountered Adam, another employee, who actually recognized and my "nerves" and was kind enough to engage and make a wonderful suggestion to focus on my breathing and to keep my eyes close throughout the process to help make the MRI successful and boy did it work! This kind of acknowledgement is another example of what makes this place different from other centers in a good way. He cared enough about me the patient to recognize my apprehension and to offer a very helpful suggestion. It is these kind of suggestions and considerations, from seasoned, caring professionals, that made my experience with Carlsbad Imaging Center exceptional! I truly felt seen, heard, and treated like a human being by all the staff and NOT like a chart number being processed by uncaring robots for employees. Good luck with even getting through the phone with the front desk customer service. I can tell this location has poor management. I tried contacting them for over 3 weeks yet still get put on hold for over 15 minutes at a time just for no one to answer and they hang up on you. I read another review and they are obviously lying about being in another call. They have no intention to help you. They have cause for me to be late on an important ultrasound appointment because they cant even answer a phone. The one time i was answered they refused to do their job and contact insurance themselves like they should. Worst experience. Don't even deserve a 1 star. No phone etiquette read more

MRI's are no fun, especially for those of us who suffer from anxiety. Even though my case is fairly mild, I struggle some with the MRI process. Robin did an excellent job of talking me through the experience, always giving me options, so that I was able to complete the task. It is a special skill to have both the patience and personality to help patients navigate this test. Robin has both. Adam did my last MRI, and he also did a wonderful job. I can't understand how this place stays in business. Every call I've made (3) has taken over 14 minutes and up to 20 minutes on different days. There is no direct number to the location so your call goes to a call center which is incredibly inconvenient on all levels. After my appointment, I got a text notification that another appointment was made by the center without my consent and I had to wait another 14 minutes - the shortest time I've waited - to cancel because there is no "cancel" option through their texts. My Dr. Did not make that appt. It took them 2 days to approve my Drs request to see me. TWO DAYS. I didn't think it would get worse than this, but the experience inside the facility was traumatic to say the least...these people are not trained well. I want nothing to do with this facility in the future. read more

We were referred here by Urgent Care next door. They told us to show up Friday morning at 8 for an X-Ray at the imaging center. Yelp and Google show the imaging center opens at 8. We show up at 8am to get in early to avoid missing as much school as possible only to find out they are not open. When I called the answering service answered and I asked "you aren't open on Fridays?" she said yes we are just not today. I said "oh did something come up?" and she said no they just decided to give us the day off. Great business practice:/ Your not a private recreational center where it doesn't matter if you close unexpectedly, you are a medical facility. What really did it for me was that there was no apology. She was just stunned that anyone would be upset that they weren't open. read more

If you have to get an MRI - this is the place to go!! I tried a standard MRI at Kaiser last week and the noise level gave me a horrendous migraine. I was referred to Carlsbad Imaging and it was worlds different! They are taking every safety precaution in these questionable times, the staff is great and the techs who did my MRI were so good! Not a good medical establishment. First, the ladies at the front desk are rude on the phone. When I was in the office waiting for service, I overheard one of the office people answer a call and tell the person, "Can you please hold? There is one person ahead of you," but she was BSing with her workmate. She was not on the phone. The person finally hung up, and she just waved at the phone and said "bye-bye." The appointment was late. The technician was not friendly. She was complaining that the protocols between this office and their other office were different, and it caused problems. Like customers care about their poor management. The appointment was STAT, and I needed the results promptly. The tech told me they would finish reading and posting before the weekend, which was great as I have a Monday morning appt that requires the results, but guess what... They didn't post them. I won't return and will be sure that the doctors at Perlman Clinic know they provide third-world service. It's just a money business; they no longer care about good medicine. With all this BS, I don't trust the evaluation of the exam as nothing here suggests high levels of professionalism. I'm sure they will have some excuses about this review but it's just not a professional establishment. read more
