What a wonderful place to enjoy good food and great atmosphere. I brought a party of 8 people and was our first time. During Covid the outside is set up with nice heavy duty tents and tables. Had a 7:30 reservation and got seated around 8:00. Got a couple drinks at the Outside bar and mingled with our crowd while overlooking the Delaware River. Met the owner at the outside bar and chatted for awhile. He sent a large complimentary appetizer to our table with olives, cheese and Italian meets. The table ordered a dozen blue point oysters and an order of calamari. Oysters were cold and fresh and calamari cooked perfect. I ordered filet mignon medium for main coarse and it was cooked perfectly. A little small, menu said 9oz but was more like 6oz. But mashed potatoes and veggies that came with meal filled me up. Entire table ordered their own deserts varied from cakes and cannolis. No complaints here. It's certainly not an inexpensive place but the atmosphere, the food and the food treatment justifies the prices In fact taking 7 people there for diner tonight. Just went for my anniversary dinner and sat outside on their brand new Terrazza! The view of the water was incredible. The service was spot on. We both had some frozen cocktail and meat and cheeseboard to start. I ordered a Delmonico steak while my wife ordered the Chilean sea bass. Everything was cooked to perfection. My one girlfriend has a lot of her children's parties here. She lives close by and this truly is a great location for a party. OR just to have lunch/dinner outdoors. It is on the river and it's peaceful with plenty of great 'backdrops' for photo opps. I had salmon for my lunch selection. It was a small, but tasty, piece. Sides were string beans (cooked right) and a mashed potatoes (gave to my girl - not my thing). Vince had a chicken special that boasted spinach and tomatoes. He enjoyed his, which is saying a lot! The kiddies had fried shrimp and pasta. They were happy with theirs I suppose. My son seemed to enjoy the bread and butter more! Service was okay. Well ... the ambiance is really nice with the outdoor dinning area and waterfront view. That I would give a 4 Service: young girl very nice and polite. However, after the appetizer we waited 45minutes for the main course! I was hoping that the wait would have made it worth it, but the food was mediocre. Tonight was our first time coming to Carlucci's and really happy we did. I would like to first thank the entire staff, especially our server Harry who really made the evening fun and the most memorable for my daughters 21st birthday!!! We had 15 people and the night was flawless. The food was excellent. I very rarely find Braciole on the menu and that was such a treat! Everything was so delicious. Everyone enjoyed everything from the appetizers to dinner!!! Ambience was so beautiful!! Very nice place. The setting is nice. They have a outside patio area that overlooks the bay area. Makes for a nice breeze off the bay while eating. The staff was friendly and attentive. Manager helps out making himself known if you need anything. The bread they give you is very good for starters. Variety bread basket and the bruschetta was tasty. We had a part of 7. Two had coherent soups and both came on the cool side. The rest had salad. And the salad was very fresh. But you only get one tomato and one cucumber in the salad. The crab cake was not real crab meat. Was a combination of imitation and real together. The lamb chop was the best of all dishes ordered. They were tender and tasty. The Egg plant was good. The sauce had good flavor. The fried seafood platter looked good and had a lot on the plate. But had a bland taste. The menu had nice choices to pick from. At check in. I got the calamari which is very tough to make so came out ok. Then I got a side salad with there lasagna. The linguine in scallop pescatore was blah. The meatballs was good (not heavy), I was happy it didn't have pork in it. The Caesar dressing was great, most places miss the bar with this dressing. Loved the scallop Angelica. In the future to go orders always need utensils (I didn't get any until I asked) and extra napkins. Smells like old lady house, floors are squeaky, old furniture... we came for an outdoor sitting which is quite nice (furniture could be updated too). Wine filled to the top not because they are giving you extra, it's just the glass is a tiny wine glass from a dollar store. Bloody marry garnished with not the freshest lemon and lime slices that looked like they were sliced with a chainsaw. Prices - Manhattan 28$, 29$, 33$ entrees and salads. But this would be fine if it wasn't so bad! I ordered a 29$ entree Australian bass (which was weird, but okay)... On the menu it says served with SEASONAL VEGETABLES ... They bring it out with CANNED STRING BEANS ‍ No, guys, I'll eat that when I'm in a nursing home forgotten and missing most teeth.... this is so terrible, beyond any words... it's like they are trying to cut corners anywhere it's possible. Yes, it's much easier to pop the can open rather than order fresh veggies from dozens of farms around the area. We had my son's 1st Communion Luncheon at Calucci's last Saturday! EVERYONE; and I do mean everyone, from the moment we stepped in the doors, to the moment we left was kind, approachable, attentive, and genuinely interested in making our experience a great one. Even in the weeks prior with all the planning; this staff was professional, yet they felt like family as well! The food and service was amazing. Even the "picky" eaters devoured their plates! We dined outside, and it was sunny...we requested enough umbrellas to accomodate a table of 12, and they were setup within minutes! My mother and mother-in-law are "tough customers" and even they could find nothing negative to say! Now that is a major win! I had my graduation party here years ago when I got my bachelors degree, and it was such a nice time. I was excited to find that we were nearby on a Friday night with an empty stomach, so we stopped in. Beautiful outdoor views, but we opted to eat inside tonight. They brought out complementary bruschetta covered with fresh tomatoes, and a basket of bread and butter to enjoy while we waited for our food. We started with the fried mozzarella appetizer, which was essentially mozzarella sticks shaped like grilled cheese. I ordered my favorite dish of theirs, the rigatoni with vodka sauce (minus the meat and peas) which was as amazing as I'd remembered... but the pasta fagiole soup that came with it was just okay. My boyfriend's francese was good, as was his chicken and rice soup. This place can get pretty pricey, but the yelp discount helped with that. We did leave happy and full, which is how every evening at dinner should end. I'd recommend saving this place for special occasions, including bigger events in their nice banquet room. read more

We visited this place for the first time. Reserved a table outside. The view was nice. I ordered Seafood Cannelloni and it was delicious! My husband got Orecchiette Foggia (pasta tossed with sweet sausage in a creamy broccoli rabe in garlic and oil sauce). So this was tasteless and over salted! He couldn't eat it. So I shared my Seafood Cannelloni meal with my hubby. We mentioned about Foggia to the server couple times. At the end it was taken down from our check by manager approval. Thanks for that. Also we ordered red Sangria and white sangria. Didn't really liked it. It was $13 for a drink. Garden salad was ok. As usual. There were three families altogether with us at the table. So we asked to do a separate checkes. The server was nice, but she informed us that it was not possible :( Ended up spending $87 plus taxes plus tips, so we left $100. I dined at this establishment for a work dinner. There were over 20 of us so we had our own room (with no view) and a pre-fix menu. The calamari was a good start with an average Cesar salad that followed. Next, the penne pasta was tasty and my prime rib dinner came after. The platter portions were generous and it also included mashed potatoes and vegetables. Our dessert was cheesecake which wasn't bad but it reminded me of coming from out of a frozen box. We booked a surprise party for my mother in law last Saturday. Carlucci's is on the Rancocas creek. The view is nice and it's a pleasant place to sit outside during the warmer months. The decor is pretty nondescript. Crisp clean white tablecloths and neatly attired wait staff. There is a pretty big U shaped bar and a couple of different eating areas. We had a nice long table to accommodate the 20 guests. Tom, our server came over promptly and got our drink orders. We ordered several apps for the table including calamari, bruschetta and mozzarella tower. All were very good. Everyone ordered from the menu and all were satisfied with their entrees. Tom and the other members of the wait staff were present without being overbearing. They even cut up the cake and served it and took numerous photos of our family. It was a wonderful time and a great experience. The staff were all very friendly and the food was good and plentiful. Order fried mozzarella app, basically two slices of fried bread with a slice of mozz and watery marinara sauce (almost $20) Scallops and bacon five small scallops with small slice of bacon (almost $20). Sausage and broccoli rabe (over $20). flavorful but small portion for price. Ordered red sangria "bottle" ($36!) filled with ice and could barely taste wine. Has a much slimmed down menu, with the basics and little exciting to offer. I go for the view outside, service was OK, although my order was incorrect from the kitchen. I personally got the seafood cannelloni expecting it to be filled with something like ricotta and was pleasantly surprised to find it was full of even more seafood inside. Last week, partner and I shared a chicken salad club sandwich for lunch which, for $12 each, was pathetic. Slices of plain white "wonder bread" with a 'smear' of chicken salad (which was barely discernable), lettuce, a few bits of bacon, and egg, cut in fours with a pile of french fries in the middle. No onion, no tomato or celery in the sandwich as described on the menu. There was no chicken salad flavor at all, we tasted mostly lettuce and egg salad. We got a slice of lemoncello mascarpone to go, which was also skimpy even for one person. It was $9. Our server was overly attentive to a fault. He asked me FIVE times if I wanted another beer, once while I had a full glass in front of me. He was also a tad too familiar, touching my and partner's shoulder a few times. A real no-no these days. They should drop the "Waterfront" from their name as the view is of a large, ugly white tent blocking any view of the water. It should be moved about 25 ft to the left, away from the windows. read more

Another "aging movie star" location. As an FYI, we were there on a Friday night at 6:30 p.m.; it was not crowded and I don't think there'd have been a wait without a reservation. First, Carlucci's is on the Rancocas Creek and is in an excellent location. For all of us old timers, it's the former Pirate's Inn. Although we were there and it was dark, once my eyes adjusted, I could tell sitting outside in the appropriate weather would be dreamy. I'd also like to relay that the note in my OpenTable reservation was read and honored. I requested a particular type of table--and for the first time, a restaurant not only honored it, but mentioned it while seating us. And we had a beautiful location in the dining area. As to the building, one could tell in its heyday was probably beautiful. It would not take too much of an investment to spruce up the obvious--do something with the drop ceilings and the ceiling vent. It was rusty with stains and made for a slight bit of disgust if you were unfortunate enough to look up at it. This is all I will say about the interior because we are all here for the food. Our server was pleasant and attentive. But service is slow--which was okay with us on this Friday night when we were celebrating an early Valentine's Day. But if you are on a timer or you have kids, let your server know and maybe that will get you out of there in under two hours. A low-key acoustic guitarist/singer played in the background at the perfect level. Usually music is too loud or intrusive. This was perfect. Although I didn't notice him front and center, it definitely added to the ambiance. The lighting is low and romantic, with the white table clothes and linens. Again, this could be a super restaurant, if only... They start you out with a small basket of bread and two pieces of bruschetta. They will ask if you'd like more bread if you finish it. The bruschetta was very good and I wish they'd offer more of it. Much better than the bread, which was nothing special. Your entree comes with soup or salad. I had the pasta fagioli--it was literally the best I've ever had--and was creamy. This is unusual. He had the salad and it was simply "just a salad." I ordered Cranberry, Apple, Walnut, Chicken Salad. It was huge and it was perfect. The dressing was divine, and the Blue Cheese crumbles were abundant. I would definitely order this again--and I'm usually an Italian entree woman. My partner ordered the Dill Salmon, and as huge a portion as mine was is as small a portion as his was. I could see he was not satisfied at the end of his meal, so I shared the remainder of my salad. He said his salmon "was okay." He likes his salmon not so wet, and he complimented my cooking by saying, "Your salmon is better." He said the mashed potatoes were better than they looked, but when I grilled him on his opinion, he said he would not return. We split the Dulce de Leche for dessert. It's a three-milk ice cream with Dulce de Leche swirled in it. I thought it was excellent--he was not enamored with it. We just agree to disagree on the meal--what I do agree on is his portion was way too small. The price--even before the 20% Yelp Check-in discount was probably average, if not better. Once they applied my Yelp discount, it was a terrific price. This could've been four stars had my partner's meal been of the level of mine. If they can work on that building and improve some of their entrees, this would be a gem. As it is now, it's barely a diamond in the rough. read more

Love, Love, Love this place. If I lived close to this I would visit at least monthly if not weekly. I went on a Thursday evening and one of the first peeps at the bar for happy hour. I was in luck martini Thursday is half off! Lots of great food specials on the bar menu and as an hour rolled by so many great people filtered in that are regulars and just super nice to talk to. I had a lovely time and the drinks were terrific. Stephanie was my excellent bartender and the food we ate was amazing. My favorite thing was the little crostini bruschetta that is complimentary. I had arancini balls and also wings. They also have a 20% off yelp special upon checking. You just cannot do any better. I've been going to Carlucci's Waterfront Restaurant since the very beginning. I use to dine at the same location when it was the Pirates Inn. I've supported that restaurant for years. Unfortunately I will not be returning. The food has always been delicious and reasonably priced. Today's experience was extremely disappointing. Stopped at the bar as I usually do and my wife and I had 2 martini's apiece, Additionally, we order 6 raw oysters. When it came time to be seated we asked for our bar tab. Our tab came to $88.50. That's $16 per martini and over $3 per oyster. With tip the bar tab was over $100 for 4 drinks and 6 not so fresh raw oysters. When it came to ordering dinner entrees like prime rib, which I've always enjoyed, they too were highly priced. Previously I was able to have drinks and dinner for approximately $100 plus gratuity. Today just my bar tab came to $100+. In my opinion this is nothing more than a money grab. Believe me, it's not about the money but more about being taken advantage of, pandemic or not. I can get better drinks in downtown Philadelphia for less than what I was charged at Carlucci's. Extremely disappointed! read more
