My coworkers and I grabbed a late business lunch here on a rainy Fall Tuesday. There were a handful of diners seated throughout the main dining room. The first thing I noticed was the very outdated decor. Although there were clean linens on all the tables; the carpeting was a dingy & worn stained tan. The white walls and columns were in need of fresh paint. There was a slight musty odor when we first entered the worn entryway steps. If it wasn't for all the great reviews we may have chosen to go elsewhere. The view of the water is a nice feature. On a nice day the patio area looks to be enticing. The food was very good. Everything we ordered was well prepared, seasoned & creative. Nothing run of the mill here. The staff was very pleasant & efficient. I did ask the hostess if there was some remodeling being done because there seemed to be some areas that looked like there was work being done. She said they were just making a new ballroom for banquets upstairs. I really hope they refresh the dining room. Even fresh paint & new flooring would do wonders. Went here because I was trying to find a local restaurant which had a waterfront view. The environment was nice and very quiet. My wife and I went on a Thursday afternoon around 4. The staff was very friendly and the waiting staff was very friendly. I chose to sit outside which had a beautiful view of the river. I believe they use the outdoor area for weddings (see pictures I've posted). Getting to the nitty gritty, the food was overall really good. The appetizer which I chose were the mini crab cakes with spinach. They were tasty and was clearly consistent of lump crab. The spinach was fresh but lacked any seasoning which nothing but a little salt and pepper took care of quickly. Entree selected was the Vodka Rigatoni which was very tasty as well. Had to ask the waiter who was attentive for an extra bowl of vodka sauce to add on top because the pasta was just a tad bit drier for me nonetheless. However everything I had an issue with (which was minimal) was correctable. I would surely recommend this place as an Italian eatery with a great location. What happened to this place? Last year the food was good! Went the other night with friends, got eggplant with pasta. I was almost gagging . The pasta was terrible, it was stale! How can you mess up pasta? The eggplant was hard to chew. I got the house salad and the dressing was balsamic and very bitter! Sooo over priced for what you get!! Won't be going back! read more

What's that old saying about not eating at places that have a nice view? Yeah, I get it now. While the ambiance is very lovely here everything else is so average. First off, they didn't have specials which I found odd for a restaurant like this. But no big deal. As far as drinks go I quite like the sangria. We shared the scallops Angelica as an app and it was the most unappetizing plate of food I've ever seen in my life. The pile of mushrooms on the side was weird and didn't really go. The scallops were way overpriced at $18 and just ok. For dinner I got the seabass livorness which was good, if uninspired. Boyfriend got another seafood/pasta situation and felt the same way. To me this is a good restaurant for groups or little celebrations as the ambiance is great and the food is...basic. However if you are looking for flavor or a culinary adventure you will not find it here. read more

Celebrated a birthday with friends. We chose Carlucci's due to the outdoor seating and the view. Dining alongside the creek with friends was definitely the highlight. Unfortunately the food is highly overpriced and mediocre at best. Friends had seafood cannelloni which was stuffed with imitation crab meat. This is unacceptable especially for a dish that costs $38! I had chicken parm which was just okay. I expected much more for $27. This place definitely has potential and a good following but could use improvement. Nice place. Great view outdoors on a beautiful day. Staff excellent, professional and very attentive. This is the bad: Food - horrible!! . Lasagna-tasted like it was jar made. Vegetables were clearly frozen.. drinks good so kudos to the bartender. I've eaten at pizza shops with better quality Italian food. They clearly need to review their cooking and food prep. This place could be wonderful if they would actually prepare good food. Maybe we'll try them a couple of years from now when we are back in this area. read more

My husband and I are out of towners from a foodie town - I always like to preface my reviews before writing them. We stumbled upon Carlucci's needing to burn a few hours before an appointment. It was gorgeous day out and the COVID cramp of the last year had us clamoring for some outdoor time. As soon as we walked in, you got the feeling this is the place your mom and dad went out to when you were a kid for a nice meal. There's sort of an old school charm about it. We were promptly seated outside and the waitstaff was 100% on top of stuff. Within minutes, I had perfect Italian Martini (Vodka with a drop of Hazelnut liqueur) served in cold glass, extra ice on the side, and small carafe of what didn't make it into the first round of full martini. I very much appreciated the clear tent which gave the outside feel with a great view of the water but took the bite of the wind out of the equation. The hostess was careful to seat people safely but still managed to make it not feel like we couldn't enjoy the energy one can only describe when food and friends come together. The waiter suggested the seafood cannelloni and the vodka rigatoni swapped out with gluten free pasta, to which we were happy to oblige. Before our entrees came out, the waiter came back in no time with salads. I completely forgot to tell the waiter I have a carrot allergy. We waved him over, explained our dilemma, and before I could blink, he had a carrot free salad on the table. When I apologized profusely, he said, "Don't worry, we've got a giraffe in the back to feed." It's the kind of service that keeps the doors open and people coming even in the hardest of times. I absolutely loved the vodka rigatoni - I felt transformed to little Italy in Baltimore. The pasta was al dente and the pea to prosciutto ratio was just right. The sauce had really well developed flavors and had me wishing I could actually eat bread to sop it up. My husband's seafood cannelloni was solid - good mix of seafood but the sauce was a little heavy. The sauce was a tomato brandy but you really couldn't tell much of a difference between the vodka sauce on my dish and the brandy based sauce on his. If you're in the area and want to be treated well with solid meal, put Carlucci's at the top of your list. You won't be disappointed. read more

Sooo good. I've been looking for real Italian food since I lived in Italy years ago. This place is it! We tried one appetizer, two entrees and two desserts. Everything was very good. I was very impressed with the service. It wasn't just great. The service was the ultimate example of how service should be. The servers had impeccable timing as to the ordering and delivery of the food and drinks. All of the employees and servers were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. The prices may appear high but are absolutely worth it! You won't find this amazing quality of food and service at a discount and shouldn't expect to. I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time. Tonight we finally decided to check it out. We were first seated indoors at a small table, right by the bar, where within 2 minutes I had several staff members run by me. There was no way I was going to sit at that table and have people run past me all night. It was also extremely bright in there, no ambiance. They offered to move us outside in the tent. Unfortunately, we were seated in the far corner, it was freezing & there were multiple holes in the tent, including a giant one that I could have walked through. We waited a long time for a server, so long that I was ready to leave, but my husband talked me into staying. It took forever to get our drinks. We finally ordered and our appetizer, salad and food all arrived within 5 mins of each other. But there we sat with all this food and still no drinks, or water. We also asked for more bread, which never came. My filet was not good at all, I actually had to send it back. It was cooked perfect, but the cut of meat was no good, it was tough & stringy. They brought me out what looked like a much better piece of meat, but once again, it was cooked good, but the meat itself was just not up to par, definitely not worth the $48 price. The manager came over apologized. He took care of us, and also caught us on the way out and apologized again. Our main waiter was also very apologetic. I don't know if they were just having a really off night, or understaffed. I know things are crazy because of Covid restrictions. I told my husband I would never go back there again, however because of the way the manager took care of us and treated us, I will definitely give them another try. I would like to check it out when the weather is nicer to see the great view from their patio. Great food...great ambiance...and most importantly, good wine! Definitely recommend! The lamb chops were definitely the best dish. Cooked to perfection with just the right amount of seasoning. The seafood cannolinj came in a strong second. Creamy sauce was not overpowering but a perfect feature. The sea bass (not pictured) was very good as well - nice and buttery! We didn't get a chance to check out the water view as it was 20 degrees, but we'll be back for sure! read more

There's no option for a 1/2 star or I would've given 2.5 stars. Went for our anniversary...had reservations so they were aware & put a cute card on the table "happy anniversary" The gnats & the fly were annoying, as they do. The service was pretty good, the food not so much. My husband ordered salmon, which had too much sauce/glaze. He didn't want to send it back but I encouraged him to. He ordered the stuffed shrimp after trying mine. Sadly, the green beans tasted like canned beans. I personally prefer rice over potatoes but it came with potatoes, au gratin potatoes I just wish that was mentioned on the menu! It just said "potato" I would've paid to sub pasta or asked for potatoes with no dairy. . We did get free limoncello shots, which was nice. read more

The location is great...the water view is awesome but the dinner was the worst food I have ever had and very expensive. I do not mind spending money for good food but this was awful. I had Chilean Sea Bass which I really love but the fish served to me was tough and chewy...a little like overcooked fish sticks. My brother had a seafood combo which he said tasted like frozen flounder. I did tell the manager when he walked around and asked how everything was. Someone came over and gave me a $25 gift card. I will never go there again for dinner. I did enjoy the lunch I had there once but I will never go for dinner. It's a shame. Wonderful waterfront dining in a tent adorned like a tiny white lighted paradise. The Italian food was creamy and luxurious. I ordered the braciole which was a thinly sliced filet mignon stuffed with sautéed spinach and mozzarella cheese on top of perfectly cooked rigatoni in a creamy tomato sauce. The steak was so tender you could cut it with a fork. The salad was served with a delicious tangy white balsamic and bruschetta Toast. The potions were large enough for two people. My husband ordered the lasagna and described it as a meaty flavorful Northern Italian delight. The others in our party ordered the homemade rice pudding which was described as just like mama would make. The average price of an entree was $25.00 which was well worth the ambiance. read more

I visited the Carlucci waterfront for lunch and the food was amazing. I ordered Shrimp And Salmon Amalfi. It was really tasty. For my drink, I had a very good cranberry mimosa. My husband ordered Seabass Livornese with an orange crush drink. The sea bass was cooked to perfection. The orange crush drink was very strong but still tasted good. We did order an appetizer, Crab Meat Bruschetta. This was also good; Overall this was a 10 out of 10 experience. I recommend this restaurant. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of the food. The owner Carlo was extremely friendly and told us about the history of this family business. Our server Sophia was so personable and knowledgeable about the menu. I am conflicted on my review for this restaurant. We were seated as per our reservation time. Every single employee we countered was overly friendly. The only hiccups were my salad was withered but the waitress quick brought me a new salad and we had to ask a few times for water. These were small hiccups. What I didn't enjoy completely was my food. I had my favorite chicken parm. It was sooooooo dry and lacked seasoning. For the price I expected more. The side of my meal covered in sauce was tasty the other side was not. It reminded me of banquet chicken. However, my family throughly enjoyed their steak and seafood platters. This has become one of our favorite places since COVID times, because they have a huge outdoor seating area so it's relatively easy to get a reservation or even wait for a table on a beautiful day. We're consistently impressed with the quality of food across the Carlucci's properties and this is no exception: they seem to nail every dish spot-on. For example, today I had the Old English Fish and Chips, and I have to say it was far better than any I've had at even the most legendary places in England! So crispy on the outside and moist on the inside it was just amazing! For dessert we tried both the Red Velvet and Limoncello Mascarpone cakes. My wife liked the Red Velvet cake but I had to try the Limoncello one because I'd already had it up in NYC and wanted to compare it. I have to say that this one won hands down: very light and not too sweet, with pronounced lemon and limoncello flavors, finished with a very light whipped Mascarpone topping garnished with white chocolate shavings. This place has so much potential and the views are beautiful especially for not leaving Mount Laurel. The food was really great and fresh which is why it is getting 3 starts but minus 2 for customer service. I came here for my 30th birthday and my mother and family came down from New York and it was going to be a nice time. From the moment I arrived I could already tell my mother was annoyed and were were seated inside right next to a baby-shower. My mom tried to complain and they literally wouldn't budge. My 85 year old grandparents were sitting and comfortable and it was to late to leave over sitting inside so as annoyed as I was we let it go and ate. Then problem 2 comes in, the hostess brought over a booster seat with no straps for my 1 year old ‍ she said there wasn't any high chairs left. That was if for me I said we're leaving since there isn't a high chair available. Of course they found one once we threatened to leave and then... the best part, a 20 dollar antipasto to make up for sitting us inside when we had reservations , no feeling it was important enough to bring a high chair when I asked but only when we threatened to leave and sitting us next to a loud baby shower. The worst part is no one ever sat at the big table outside.. because it was our reservation... we ate , the table was cleaned, and 2 hours later ... empty outdoor table overlooking thei water. The food was good and fresh , and our waitress was really sweet. If customer service was a little better this is a 5 start place. If you can't handle multiple parties AND refuse to serve a lunch menu on Saturday and Sunday you better make sure the single tables get treated better on the weekends. read more

Fresh seafood and homemade, fresh, authentic Italian food are on the menu at this restaurant. Their roasted red peppers are clearly homemade and I have ordered a variety of dishes here, all of which were excellent and satisfying. The service is spotty- some servers are excellent and some are not very attentive. There is often a live musician on Saturday nights. They are remodeling the outdated building and gravel parking lot, which is sorely overdue. The restaurant has beautiful views of the creek. Sept. 2014 update: I had my rehearsal dinner for my upcoming wedding at Carlucci's, and everything was perfect. We were able to have a private room with a view of the creek. I was able to spect 4 beers and 3 wines of my choice for my guests (and only had to pay for what was opened. Fruit and cheese were out when guests arrived, and then there was bruschetta and bread, a choice of 2 fabulous soups, salad, main course, and dessert. All 22 people were impressed with their food, and everyone left happy and satisfied. Lois and Melanie were a pleasure to deal with and even made customized menus with our picture on it.
