We just had our wedding at Carlucci's Waterfront and I'm disappointed I cannot give 10 stars because they deserve it! First their all inclusive package made it so easy-DJ and cake was included. The cake was delicious! DJ was amazing. Second, the staff could not be more accommodating, they were so kind. The manager Carlo was also wonderful. They all made our big day that much more amazing. Lastly, the food was phenomenal. Even the salad dressing was so flavorful! The bread came out piping hot, the pasta course was so good and I got the filet mignon as my entree. I've been going here for years and have enjoyed their Italian dishes. Tonight I ordered linguine and clams. It was the worst I've ever tasted. There was absolutely no garlic in the white sauce (which was a small amount of butter and olive oil at the bottom of the dish). The dish was dry and absolutely tasteless. After the salad the ONLY thing else that was good was the pumpkin pie. We decided to have the calamari for openers. They were crispy and hot minus any flavor. The marinara sauce was fair. You like turkey? Not here you won't! The bird must have had a hard life. It was tough, DRY and chewy. The stuffing was right out of a box or at least tasted like it. Went in for our son's graduation and had one of the best meals ever!!! Tomahawk steak & prime rib were cooked to perfection, chicken Parmesan & veal Parmesan were absolutely delicious! Only issue we had was our waitress forgot our appetizers. BUT the manager literally not only made the appetizers for us, he took them off them bill and gave us complimentary cannolis! Go for the bread. Had two of the fall specialty dishes, the duck and the braised short ribs. Both were entirely not edible. The short rib was under cooked and needed to be cut with a knife, properly prepared short rib should be fork tender. The duck was cooked to a medium rare which should have been acceptable but it also just wasn't good. The service was very good and the view is lovely. Restaurants with a view usually give me vertigo. No, not the physical variety just the nagging sensation that I'm falling into a ripoff. My experience has been that the many advantages of prime real estate are often squandered in the kitchen as the proprietor believes his guests will be hypnotized by the gaze into sweet nothings while the kitchen mails in a mediocre meal and a Heimlich-inducing check. I am happy to say that Carlucci's disappointed me. Sure they're busy and the view is serene but the service and the meal conspired to make a liar out of me. I'm a crab cake guy so I've had my share of excellent spheres. These were excellent as was the generous antipasto and the pastaless Pasta Fagioli. Had a couple of martinis here with my fiancé and was very happy with how delicious the drinks were. Didn't realize how expensive food was, would probably come here for a special occasion due to the price however I would definitely come back for drinks. Great experience. Brought my girlfriend here for our year anniversary and our servers made it a great experience especially Sarah! She had a lil note for us and even brought us a lil dessert at the end. The drinks were very good as well (The Peach Bellini and the Caribbean Smash) . I had the Chicken Francese at $34 served with no salad, very little gravy on the chicken and pasta and no taste. Oh and the chicken was dry. SERVICE: Upon arriving and checking in, we did not get a warm greeting and reception from the host/hostess stand (3 people were standing there). As we were seated at the bar, a hostess came over to the bar area and yelled out a guest's name and party #, asking if they were here. When she walked away, every person at the bar was left rattled and staring at each other with confusion. We waited a while for the Bartender to come over to us and when she did she only put a drink menu in front of us and walked away. Never greeted us with a hello or I'll be right back with you or even a smile. When she returned, she asked what we wanted to drink. I had a question about a wine and instead of answering it she walked away and returned with a class of that wine. FOOD: Over priced. My husband got the Beef Braciole. It was disappointingly dry.I got the seafood cannelloni. The sauce was good but pasta shell was too thick. Also, I think it was stuffed with imitation crabmeat. The texture seemed stringy like imitation crabmeat and without the sauce it tasted like it, which I don't like.
