Decided to stop by here for an early dinner after reading some great reviews on Yelp. We opted for outdoor dining which had some great ambiance with heaters and string lights. Our waiter didn't introduce himself or list any specials instead just asked us if we were ready to order. I didn't think much of it until I saw a different waiter approach a table by saying his name and offering some course selections. I really enjoyed the rosemary garlic bread and wish I could take a whole loaf home haha. The blue point oysters tasted fresh and the mini tobasco was cute. We decided to get the Boston harbor seafood platter to share as an entree. Both the tarter sauce and marinara complimented the dish well. The scallops were tender and juicy. The shrimp I could barely taste since it was mostly breading. The oyster melted in your mouth but we only received one which was odd. I think we were supposed to receive two because the scallops and shrimp both came in a pair. The crab cake was my favorite. It was flaky and seasoned well. The flounder was a different story. I'm pretty sure the chef forgot to season it before frying it because it was very bland. The mashed potatoes were delicious, butter garlic but a bit cold. The vegetables seemed overcooked and mushy. Overall we were a bit disappointed with the quality of the food due to the price and upscale feel the restaurants gives off. Possibly may be because they don't specialize in seafood. Nice spot with lovely outdoor dining on the shore of Rancocas Creek. Had a res and were seated immediately. Food was good, not great. Kinda pricey, entrees mostly in the thirties. Staff followed all the covid routines. Service was great, but for some reason at least four times kitchen staff brought us food that wasn't for our table. Its been a few years since we have been there. I am happy to say the coveted area was very nice and even though we didn't sit there because of stairs to get in, our view was good and seating was nice. The view of the water was very relaxing. We started off with Italian wedding soup . It was very good and had a nice flavor. Since we were a party of three each of us chose a different dish. One was recommended by the waiter, it was sunset mango tilapia. I am so glad I asked because it was delicious. The tilapia was perfectly cooked. All the fruit was fresh and everything I wanted. The other two selections were lasagna and raviolis. Each were very pleased and happy with their selection. We were given a bread selection and the one I chose was very tasty. First time here. Nice friendly staff were very welcoming and brought us to our table. Dining rooms are big with big windows overlooking the water. They have a whole outside seating area as well which probably would have been great, however it was raining. Food was good. The crab bruschetta was amazing. If you are looking for a spectacular view and awesome staff this it. If you are looking for food to wow you this place isnt it. The view over looking the river under canopy lights is beautiful and romantic. Now let's move on to the food. My husband and I ordered apps, entrees and dessert, like always. Of the 3 apps we ordered nothing stood out and all was underwhelming. We ordered Clams Casino, Baby Octopus and Scallops Angelica. The scallops took us by surprise. We expexted a whole scallop but it was just a piece of one wrapped in bacon. Next course was soup and salad. If you are a garlic fan the Pasta Fagioli is the way to go. I never had it like that but I liked it. For our entrees hubs had the Seafood Cannelloni and I had the Shrimp Amalfi. I can see why the Cannelloni is a top seller. It was good. My Shrimp Amalfi was okay but tasted better when I added the sauce from the Cannelloni to it. Desserts were good but then again I haven't eaten anything from Bindi I didnt like. All in all South Jersey is full of Italian restaurants and this one didnt stand out enough for me to want to come back. read more

Recently visited this establishment during a date night. Upon arrival we were greeted by the hostess whom we alerted of our reservation. We were taken to our table and told our waiter would be right with us. Just a few minutes later our waiter arrived to our table, prepared to take our order for beverages. We gave our orders and said waiter went about his way. Just minutes into the night, as my date and I looked over the menu, she made mention of an uncomfortable look she was receiving from a member of the wait staff and pointed him out to me. Not too long after, I also noticed the same member of the staff taking long glances at our table while "working." There was a moment he "disappeared" behind the restaurant shrubbery to talk with another man on the staff, drawing now his attention to our direction too, visibly smirking and giggling. Needless to say, a very uncomfortable and unwelcoming experience. Not too long after, a new waitress returned with our beverages then left us for the night. Shortly after, our first waiter returned and proceeded to take our order for entrees. We ordered and again he went about his way. Shortly after, the very man who continued staring at us, dropped some bread off at our table. When I say dropped, I mean dropped. Without acknowledging us, he plopped the basket down on the table and walked off. At this point the quality of service began to decline immediately. Our entrees arrived, being delivered by a different waiter on staff. He didn't introduce himself, but was very pleasant when delivering our food. We thanked him and began to eat. The food was good. We finished up and prepared to pay and leave. Our first waiter returned to the table, asking if we needed to go boxes and if we were ready for the check, to which we agreed on both. He came back with both items and said he'd be back again to collect the check. Cash was placed in the check to cover the total, there was change of $20.00. After handing the waiter the menu, we watched as he entered the money in the register and returned to his other tables. We sat at our table for an additional 10 minutes, until the waiter stopped and asked if we needed something else. My date mentioned to him that he never came back after taking our money, to which he replied in a condescending manner, "oh, you needed change?" My date, now visibly upset, directed that he keep the change, and just wanted to leave at this point. We grabbed our boxes and headed to the front. Passing by the same hostess, I requested an available manager to speak about the issues we had during our dinner. The manager/owner Carlo came out not too longer after and we told him about the events of the night. From our early discomfort from the member of the bus staff, to our waiter and his unpleasant handling of our payment. In return, we were gaslit during the entire conversation. Kind of how he's doing in all the negative reviews here. He asked if I "assumed" we were being stared at by his staff member. It's quite clear when someone is visibly staring and talking about you. In his case, he barely tried to hide it and tried to get others to join in even. Carlo let us know he'd "talk" to him about the issue. He'd also "talk" to our waiter who assumed he deserved a $20 tip, when all he did was ask what drinks we'd like for the night. We were given a gift card though after the whole ordeal. Only reason this got 2 stars instead of 1 was because of the waterfront views. If you can't eat outside, I don't recommend going at all. The inside is so drab and smells super musty and definitely needs an update. Servers were nice enough, but it seemed they didn't care about us because we didn't order drinks. For the price of their dishes, I was expecting some top notch meals but was just left with poorly executed meals that I could have messed up on my own at home. First up, Scallops Angelica, which sounded great because they said they were wrapped in bacon; however, any idea of how you THINK that dish would look like, you're wrong. It was like they smashed scallops and shoved them in bacon rolls and then slapped them on a plate with mushrooms and some weird sauce. It was honestly an insult that they charge $21 for the dish. Everything on the menu is super expensive and my "go-to" items when I'm trying to watch my budget were even way over priced. A simple salad was $21....plus $9 if you want to add shrimp. So $30 for a salad. Wow! Okay, scratch that idea, I instead thought maybe I will get simple chicken parm to keep the bill down. Nope! That's $28. I can't, as an honest Italian, pay $28 for chicken parm. Are you kidding me?! Is it drizzled with edible gold or something? I settled on the chicken Marsala (again, $28). The flavor was good but the portion size was WAY too small and it came with vegetables. Yes, veggies and not pasta. Weird. Oh, and the veggies were gross: they were either frozen, or rotten. Boyfriend got the vodka rigatoni with chicken which ended up being $30 and said it was nothing to write home about. I just don't understand where these prices come from. And did I mention the stale bread? I cannot make this stuff up. Maybe I've been watching too many Gordon Ramsey shows but this place misses the beat on so many things. I saw the poor reviews and have had this place on my radar for YEARS and finally decided to give it a try; I should have listened! They don't seem at all concerned with changing or updating their ways. In spite of the mixed reviews we read online we decided to give carlucci's a try on Friday night. The outdoor seating and the view was the selling point for us based on the photos we saw on the site. Upon arrival, we noticed the parking lot which is large, was PACKED. luckily, we were able to find a spot up front as i am 8 months pregnant. Let's cut to the chase: front desk was engaging with guests and managing every reservation that checking in. They were polite, courteous and provided updates on wait times and impacts. With a packed house, the entire team was operating in orchestra. Once we were seated, we were greeted immediately, did not wait for bar drinks, appetizer soups delivered soon after order, followed by our entrees. This level of timely service is not what you expect from a packed restaurant on a Friday night. Food was good. No complaints with our order. I had the jumbo shrimp and crab entree and my husband had Chicken Parm. The best part of my entire experience was witnessing this staff go above and beyond in 2 instances: one gentleman who appeared to be a manager, gave this couple a wine glass with the Carlucci brand on it as they were leaving out to commemorate their visit. Must have been a special occasion for them. Second, a disabled gentleman was leaving and a staffer ran after him in the parking lot to give him a hat he left behind. This level of attention to their customers during a dinner rush was unmatched. As we were leaving, every staffer we walked by said goodbye to us. This place has heart. read more

I've been to Carlucci's twice now, and wish I had know about it sooner. Sitting back from any main roads, and on a beautiful waterfront, this place is perfect or a nice night out. The first time I came here was for my sister-in-law's rehearsal dinner, and the second for a night out with my fiancé. As a guest of an event (the rehearsal dinner) I was impressed with the venue and food. We were seated in a private room and given a buffet with appetizers and later able to pick a entree of our choice. The staff was attentive throughout the event. When I came with fiancé we decided to dine outside and enjoy the waterfront views. We were nervous it would be buggy out there, but they didn't bother us. The menu selection has a variety of Italian dishes, all of which I would have enjoyed trying. But my favorite thing was the appetizer. The Crab Bruschetta- it is one of the best dishes I've had anywhere. The crab meat is generously topped on delicious bread with a creamy sauce covering everything and served to perfection. Now that Carlucci's is on my radar, I'm looking forward to going back. read more

My coworkers and I grabbed a late business lunch here on a rainy Fall Tuesday. There were a handful of diners seated throughout the main dining room. The first thing I noticed was the very outdated decor. Although there were clean linens on all the tables; the carpeting was a dingy & worn stained tan. The white walls and columns were in need of fresh paint. There was a slight musty odor when we first entered the worn entryway steps. If it wasn't for all the great reviews we may have chosen to go elsewhere. The view of the water is a nice feature. On a nice day the patio area looks to be enticing. The food was very good. Everything we ordered was well prepared, seasoned & creative. Nothing run of the mill here. The staff was very pleasant & efficient. I did ask the hostess if there was some remodeling being done because there seemed to be some areas that looked like there was work being done. She said they were just making a new ballroom for banquets upstairs. I really hope they refresh the dining room. Even fresh paint & new flooring would do wonders. Went here because I was trying to find a local restaurant which had a waterfront view. The environment was nice and very quiet. My wife and I went on a Thursday afternoon around 4. The staff was very friendly and the waiting staff was very friendly. I chose to sit outside which had a beautiful view of the river. I believe they use the outdoor area for weddings (see pictures I've posted). Getting to the nitty gritty, the food was overall really good. The appetizer which I chose were the mini crab cakes with spinach. They were tasty and was clearly consistent of lump crab. The spinach was fresh but lacked any seasoning which nothing but a little salt and pepper took care of quickly. Entree selected was the Vodka Rigatoni which was very tasty as well. Had to ask the waiter who was attentive for an extra bowl of vodka sauce to add on top because the pasta was just a tad bit drier for me nonetheless. However everything I had an issue with (which was minimal) was correctable. I would surely recommend this place as an Italian eatery with a great location. What's that old saying about not eating at places that have a nice view? Yeah, I get it now. While the ambiance is very lovely here everything else is so average. First off, they didn't have specials which I found odd for a restaurant like this. But no big deal. As far as drinks go I quite like the sangria. We shared the scallops Angelica as an app and it was the most unappetizing plate of food I've ever seen in my life. The pile of mushrooms on the side was weird and didn't really go. The scallops were way overpriced at $18 and just ok. For dinner I got the seabass livorness which was good, if uninspired. Boyfriend got another seafood/pasta situation and felt the same way. To me this is a good restaurant for groups or little celebrations as the ambiance is great and the food is...basic. However if you are looking for flavor or a culinary adventure you will not find it here. read more

Unfortunately the food is highly overpriced and mediocre at best. Friends had seafood cannelloni which was stuffed with imitation crab meat. This is unacceptable especially for a dish that costs $38! Sooo good. I've been looking for real Italian food since I lived in Italy years ago. This place is it! We tried one appetizer, two entrees and two desserts. Everything was very good. I was very impressed with the service. It wasn't just great. The service was the ultimate example of how service should be. The servers had impeccable timing as to the ordering and delivery of the food and drinks. All of the employees and servers were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. The prices may appear high but are absolutely worth it! You won't find this amazing quality of food and service at a discount and shouldn't expect to. Nice place. Great view outdoors on a beautiful day. Staff excellent, professional and very attentive. This is the bad: Food - horrible!! . Lasagna-tasted like it was jar made. Vegetables were clearly frozen.. drinks good so kudos to the bartender. I've eaten at pizza shops with better quality Italian food. They clearly need to review their cooking and food prep. I visited the Carlucci waterfront for lunch and the food was amazing. I ordered Shrimp And Salmon Amalfi. It was really tasty. For my drink, I had a very good cranberry mimosa. My husband ordered Seabass Livornese with an orange crush drink. The sea bass was cooked to perfection. The orange crush drink was very strong but still tasted good. We did order an appetizer, Crab Meat Bruschetta. This was also good; Overall this was a 10 out of 10 experience. I recommend this restaurant. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of the food. My husband and I are out of towners from a foodie town - I always like to preface my reviews before writing them. We stumbled upon Carlucci's needing to burn a few hours before an appointment. It was gorgeous day out and the COVID cramp of the last year had us clamoring for some outdoor time. As soon as we walked in, you got the feeling this is the place your mom and dad went out to when you were a kid for a nice meal. There's sort of an old school charm about it. We were promptly seated outside and the waitstaff was 100% on top of stuff. Within minutes, I had perfect Italian Martini (Vodka with a drop of Hazelnut liqueur) served in cold glass, extra ice on the side, and small carafe of what didn't make it into the first round of full martini. I very much appreciated the clear tent which gave the outside feel with a great view of the water but took the bite of the wind out of the equation. The hostess was careful to seat people safely but still managed to make it not feel like we couldn't enjoy the energy one can only describe when food and friends come together. The waiter suggested the seafood cannelloni and the vodka rigatoni swapped out with gluten free pasta, to which we were happy to oblige. Before our entrees came out, the waiter came back in no time with salads. I completely forgot to tell the waiter I have a carrot allergy. We waved him over, explained our dilemma, and before I could blink, he had a carrot free salad on the table. When I apologized profusely, he said, "Don't worry, we've got a giraffe in the back to feed." It's the kind of service that keeps the doors open and people coming even in the hardest of times. I absolutely loved the vodka rigatoni - I felt transformed to little Italy in Baltimore. The pasta was al dente and the pea to prosciutto ratio was just right. The sauce had really well developed flavors and had me wishing I could actually eat bread to sop it up. My husband's seafood cannelloni was solid - good mix of seafood but the sauce was a little heavy. The sauce was a tomato brandy but you really couldn't tell much of a difference between the vodka sauce on my dish and the brandy based sauce on his. If you're in the area and want to be treated well with solid meal, put Carlucci's at the top of your list. You won't be disappointed. read more

Went for our anniversary...had reservations so they were aware & put a cute card on the table "happy anniversary" The gnats & the fly were annoying, as they do. The service was pretty good, the food not so much. My husband ordered salmon, which had too much sauce/glaze. He didn't want to send it back but I encouraged him to. He ordered the stuffed shrimp after trying mine. Sadly, the green beans tasted like canned beans. I personally prefer rice over potatoes but it came with potatoes, au gratin potatoes I just wish that was mentioned on the menu! It just said "potato" I would've paid to sub pasta or asked for potatoes with no dairy. . We did get free limoncello shots, which was nice. read more
