Beautiful, captured them perfectly, while blending in the cool backgrounds in Southie. Then, she came and took some (pre) engagement shots of my now husband and I and our puppies. We loved them so much, so we called to see if she was available for our wedding and thankfully she was! Everyone who sees our photos loves them, and immediately asks who the photographer was, and we happily pass on her info! I hope she gets tons of business from our referral because we know what a great job she does! She was great getting shots of our dogs, and was always open to suggestions for shot ideas. She was able to suggest a location that was absolutely incredible and was so professional throughout the entire shoot. We never felt like any of it was forced or awkward. Just much better versions of ourselves, if that makes sense. Melissa was professional but mellow and put us all at ease. Even the baby was happy the whole time. I turn into a neurotic mess when my photo is taken, so it was reassuring to get an email before the photo shoot with suggestions for what to wear and how to style ourselves. She also asked us if there was anything we wanted touched up a little in the final shots, such that the raging zit I had at the time of the shoot is concealed (did I mention I get all stressed out about being photographed?!). I got a few shots breastfeeding, too, and she did an excellent job sensitively capturing this intimate, treasured exchange between me and my daughter. To be perfectly honest, I was getting a little frustrated, not being able to find someone that could fit our needs, budget, and honestly, personality preferences. The only other people I knew that did photography were booked up that weekend, so I was a bit down about the whole thing. And then, I stumbled onto Emily. I found Emily through OffbeatBride.com where she had done a 1 hour shoot for a couple in Boston Common. That was basically identical to what we had envisioned! I contacted her, told her what we were looking for, and she asked to set up a meeting. AND, she's in the next town over from me. This was starting to perk me up a bit. I went to her home, we chatted, I looked through books of previous weddings she had done, and her laid back demeanor was PERFECT for our really easy going, 8 person wedding in the Arboretum. I can't tell you how amazing it is to find someone that is easy going and professional, that takes photos that really capture the moment (quirks and all), gets RAINED ON for an hour, doesn't complain one bit, and produced the best photos I could have hoped for. I also can't tell you what a relief it is to not have to worry how the photos will come out, if the person is dependable, or any of that stuff because I knew off the bat that she'd come through, and she did in spades. Instead, I could worry about other things (like where my dress was....) I can't recommend Emily enough, and am plotting other things I can use her skills for going forward! Please, Please, Please, do yourself a favor, brides - you have enough to worry about. Don't let your photographer be one of them. If you're in Boston, call her, seriously.

I wanted our baby to be the feature and not my husband and I and she was able to deliver that easily while also getting some lovely shots of us as a family. She's very personable and it was soo easy to have her take pictures. We eloped and did our pictures separately and I was worried there'd be no emotion and it'd look fake. Instead, it was the most comfy I've ever been with a virtual stranger. Kristin is warm, engaging, and so enthusiastic. We were just racking our brains to figure out what other photo shoots she could do for us! The pictures looked incredible and it took less than 3 hours to get them back. She gives great direction (I seriously don't know how to pose especially with a puppy) & is very relaxed yet professional. She truly knows what angles are best & chooses/takes the most "flattering" photos. I am very self-conscious, & I have had my fair share of photographers taking pictures of me that just made me feel more insecure. With Katie, however, majority (if not all) of the images she took were impressive & definitely to my liking. She would literally tell me throughout the experience, "Don't worry, I am going to make you look good!" That was honestly so reassuring & made the photoshoot even more pleasurable.
