During the trip to Carmel, tried this coffee place early morning- pleasant staff - coffee was decent, I just tried their drip medium roast black coffee. Just what was needed on a chilly morning during thanksgiving weekend..and grabbed their carrot loaf slice which was really fresh and yummy. Not the typical very sweet types, and get it warmed for best taste. Part of the barnyard shopping center with plenty of eating indoors and outdoors too.

The coffee was good. The time we went, there was no line so there wasn't much of a wait. This coffee spot seems like a popular chain in Carmel. I wouldn't say it's a must stop shop for coffee, but if you want coffee and you are near it, why not.

    dog friendly patio too!

My partner and I both got drip and it was so yummy!! We are both baristas so you can take our word for it. Service was friendly and quick, and it's tucked away in a charming barn style mall. Would recommend especially if you're staying at Carmel Mission Inn-- just a 1 minute walk behind the hotel. cheers!

Well coming to Carmel by the Sea you expect a few things. The sea (ocean), the stoker ambiance, and the lovely residents. At this roasting company, you expect them to be good at brewing and roasting. But they overlook how good they are at their ice to water ratio. Just enough ice to chill and sustain the water. Cheers and thank you.

Grabbed two cold brews here and they were delicious -- light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. The location has a great vibe with fun outdoor seating, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. A great spot for a quick caffeine hit or to relax outside. Definitely a place I'd come back to!

How about making the drinks instead of all the staff just chatting with each other??

How about making the drinks instead of all the staff just chatting with each other?? The delays are crazy, they need an onsite manager to manage.

Happened to be around the area and so glad I stopped by to taste their cup of mocha. It was delicious and believe better than Starbucks! Might be that they use Ghirardelli. Went there around 8am and came back around 1pm to get their blended mocha which was also amazing! Definitely coming back when in town. Then inside had space for people to sit and chat or do some work. They have black and white photos of Carmel by a local photographer.

The line here goes by really slowly. I felt like the drinks were very average, nothing special. I also thought the drinks were very pricey.

As soon as i walked it it felt very warm and welcoming and the cashier was very helpful with my drink since i wanted to make it sugar free syrups and add banana cream to the latte. Although the drink ended up being $9... safe to say it was worth it and was delicious considering that this was probably the only time I'll ever be in this town so it was memorable. The morning glory bread was also very delicious and not sweet !!

The craft of making a latte could use some improvement my medium iced latte came out very light and milky-- definitely an indicator of a not-so-great latte in my book. I understand a medium/16oz only comes with two espresso shots however, I think something went wrong here. I've been to other coffee shops where an additional shot isn't necessary and my latte comes out perfectly brown with a balanced espresso & milk ratio. Maybe it was the type of roast they used or their machine needs to be calibrated. I ended up transferring the latte to my own cup when i got home to save for tomorrow and I'll add extra espresso!

It is a cute spot nestled in between buildings and has both patio and inside seating. We brought our pup and took patio seating. It was cold BUT they provided blankets and heaters! We got the fruited sour and I got the Porto Branco. The drinks were great. Sour was great and PB was perfect. We had the sourdough bread and butter to share as well as the farmers salad with avocado. The vinaigrette was fantastic, the bread was soft inside and crispy outside with the perfect bread to butter ratio (we had extra butter left over). My husband got the lobster roll which was good (not the best) but the brioche roll was great and very filled. I got the King Ora salmon which had complex flavor with miso, pepper and the cabbage was fantastic. For dessert we shared the basque cheesecake which was amazing. It was more creamy and went well with the blackberry. Service could be better but was still pretty good and we would come back again to get brunch!

Coffee please, well wouldn't ya know there was a place across the street. It was 12noon small place, no line, lots of pastries and some lunchish items in the cooler case. Large hot Mocha no whip for me, P got himself a latte thing. Both drinks were up almost instantly and out we went. First sip ah...warm....wait a second. Paul said mines cold...er. The pastry the server chose for me was good, no pastries are made on the premises. Not sure about the lunch snacks origin. We sat at the bistro tables on the sidewalk and admired the parade of tourists and residents. P went in for a reheat, I washed the pastry back with my warm coffee. The reheat worked for P, no problem. We enjoyed the scenery, had a few laughs, and left when a resident tried to parallel his Rolls Royce in front of us. Nothing special here just a coffee place but certainly convenient for our coffee break. Have a nice day Foodguy-Martin

An old friend put me onto Carmel Valley Coffee, so I figured why not give it a chance... and honestly, I'm glad I did. I grabbed a vanilla latte -- simple, safe, and done very very well for this new coffee drinker still trying to find his perfect match. Smooth, warm, and just sweet enough after miles on the trail. The kind of cup that makes you slow down and appreciate the moment. The shop itself is cute, cozy, and carries that laid-back Carmel charm. Service was polite, friendly, and quick -- no rush, no chaos, just good people making good coffee. Whether you're a seasoned caffeine pro or someone like me still figuring out what "notes" and "roast profiles" even mean, this place is worth the stop. A little comfort after a long hike, a little nostalgia courtesy of an old friend, and a latte that hit exactly how it needed to. Already looking forward to coming back.

From the outside, the place looks like a little hole in the wall with just a sign outside and an A-frame advertising their specials. When you step inside, however, it is surprisingly roomie with a few places to sit. My +1 tried the lavender latte (with honey) and liked it so much that she ordered it again. I'm not one for lavender, but I took a sip just to try it, and the latte was very pleasant and the honey added just the right amount of sweetness. I on the other hand, opted for the Tidal Wave, which was their blend of energy drink, and raspberry syrup added. It was admittedly, a little sweet, but I found myself ordering it again. Also just because I needed that extra kick, and the sugar didn't bother me with all the walking we were doing. This was really disappointing and I had to toss both blueberry donuts. The donuts looked a bit messy and rustic but it didn't bother me honestly. The undercooked donuts are a major issue though. I had the gluten free donut and it was very sweet and dense. It's almost like they added double glaze to hide the flavor and texture of the donut itself.
