Fried chicken with collard greens and mashed potatoes with bacon gravy
    Kathy W.

One of the many small restaurants inside the Anaheim Packing House, Georgia's is a delicious Southern food restaurant with hearty portions and tons of flavor. The fried chicken is hard to beat. The fried catfish is crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside and not fishy at all. The traditional sides are great: collard greens are full of flavor, coleslaw is traditional, the yams are sweet, the mac & cheese is creamy with a little spice, and the mashed potatoes with the bacon gravy can't be beat. You can get your food to go or enjoy it in the seating space next to the restaurant. Service is fast and efficient and all the cashiers I've dealt with are friendly. If you're getting a to-go order, you order yourself at the kiosk, but if you're eating in the packing house, you order with the cashier. Enjoy!

Came here to grab something ~fast~ and on the smaller side! The 2 beignets were perfect for me portion wise. I waited for 15 minutes, which to me was a little long. I think they were behind a bit when I ordered them! Nonetheless the only other time I've had beignets were at Disneyland and these are way better! They have a thick inside and are flakey on the outside!

Got the catfish plate with cajun rice & mac n cheese ($24) My brother & I wanted a bite so we shared & it was perfect The service is great & food came out quite fast. The catfish was fresh & hot. I wish the fish had more seasoning but the texture & quantity was great! The cajun rice had great flavor but a little soft for my liking. Mac & cheese is standard & good. Corn bread was delicious

I met a friend here and while I was browsing around for what to eat, I came across this place and went with the food here, since you don't come across places like this very often. They have a small seating area in their section and you order at the cashier, or if you're doing take out they have a kiosk where you can place your order without any contact. I ordered the Fried Catfish ($22.95) and chose fries and coleslaw as my 2 sides. It took about 10-15 minutes for my order to come out, and the catfish was sooo tender and steaming hot when I got to my table and opened it back up. The only thing was that the fries were not. The fries on the other hand were cold and soggy, meaning that they were sitting out for a long time while they were frying the catfish. The catfish itself was great. It was so tender that it was practically falling off the fork as I tried eating it. It was also plenty of food and I could barely finish it all. Service was nice and friendly, and it wasn't the quickest, but the fish was great. The fries I was a bit disappointed with. Coleslaw wasn't bad but wasn't anything outstanding either.

Georgia's - located inside the Anaheim Packing House

Georgia's is a southern comfort restaurant. This location is inside the Anaheim Packing House. They have a small section by their area for seating with service, or you can get it togo and enjoy it in general seating if your party want to eat other things as well. My boyfriend and I were both ordering at Georgia's so we decided to sit in their section. You order and pay at the counter and they will give you a number. My boyfriend had the Blacken Catfish ($22.95) which came with 2 sides. He opted for the Mac N Cheese and Seasonal Vegetables. I ordered their Tri-Tip Salad ($18.95) replacing the blue cheese with shredded house blend cheese. Complimentary corn bread! Yum! What a pleasant surprise when they brought out the complimentary corn bread. It was soft and moist. A great way to start off the meal. My boyfriend's blacken catfish was a really small portion of fish. Nothing too impressive with the fish either. The seasoned vegetables are average. The mac and cheese was good. My salad was better by compare. The tri-tip salad was a nice way of being healthy but still eating something healthy. The raw red onions was the only thing I picked out of the salad. These would have added better flavor contribution to the salad if it was pickled or something. A decent option while at the Anaheim Packing House but some of their menu items are on the pricey end. I originally looked at the pork ribs but I thought the price point was higher than their competitors and didn't feel like it was worth it.

This place is located in the Anaheim Packing District so parking will definitely be a challenge. They do offer valet parking so that should lessen the challenge a bit. Since there are so many different restaurants, I wanted to try a little from a couple of places. Georgia's restaurant does offer a small seating area but if it's busy, you'll have to find seating elsewhere. I ordered the following menu items. 1. Corn bread: I was told it's made in-house from scratch. Two muffin type cornbreads along with a honey butter. The cornbread was sweet and tender and the honey butter kicked it up a notch. I would definitely order this again. 2. Mac and Cheese: I was told it's made from scratch in-house. The Mac and cheese was not served hot, just warm. And while it had good flavor, the roux was grainy rather than smooth. I would not order this again. 3. Peach Cobbler: I had such high expectations for this since it's made in house from scratch. It had good flavor but it was dry (no liquid in the filling) and it lacked the biscuit and/or crispy type crust. I would not order this again. I would like to try other menu options but so far 1 out 3 items were good.

This review is based on my experience on Friday, May 15th. I met my friend for lunch so we decided to dine in and eat at Georgia's. I felt like I was at a private, stand alone restaurant with how attentive and on point Omar and Esmeralda were. I mean, they were patient, answered all the questions my friend had concerning the food - they let her modify and change her order numerous times and they werent annoyed at all! LOL. You can tell Omar takes pride in his job, and he does his best to make sure the guests feel welcomed. Esmeralda was just the sweetest with her smile. You can see the joy in their faces like they really enjoy their job and what they do. Even the cooks in the back were nice! I didnt have any cash to tip them and I felt so bad, but they assured me that it was okay. They werent being nice just for a tip, they were being sweet and accomodating to ensure we had the best experience at Georgia's - which we did! Now to the food..we ordered so much! We got peach cobbler, a lemon cake, a waffle, shrimp n grits, some kind of etoufee or however you spell it, beignets and...man oh man those complimentary biscuit things were so darn good. I loved how thick the grits were. it was just how i like it. the cobbler was yummy too. There's so many items on the menu I want to try, so i will definitely be back.

Went here for the second time and they didn't disappoint! Located in Anaheim packing house this hidden gem is spectacular. I feel like majority of the food are good, well, all the food are good. I just haven't tried everything in the menu. The food came out fast as well and there's a kiosk for to go orders. Seating's limited but inside the packing house, there's a bunch of seats anyway but probably if you come with a bigger group it will be harder to find one.

"Disappointed with the meal. The catfish portion was surprisingly small, and the bread/rice tasted old and stale, not fresh. Overall, it didn't feel worth the price."

Micheal was so kind and attentive, politely show us his character. This review is so they can give him and them a raise.( the staff)

The place was really clean. Enjoyed it. The blackened chicken was great. Corn bread was served on the house, Micheal our waiter super a fun of his style of connecting with people. He cleaned up nicely wanted to give a quick shout out.

Who came for lunch to this restaurant in the Anaheim packing district. We chose this because I had a nice selection of seafood, all prepared Cajun style. I ordered the sea bass with the side of Cajun Rice and corn on the cob. Hubby ordered blackened catfish with black-eyed peas and red beans and rice. We both really enjoyed our food. The portions were pretty big for lunch so we ended up taking most of it home. We liked the simple, Southern style decor in this small dining area. you order at the counter and then they give you a number and bring the food to you. The young man who we ordered from came to our table several times to check and see if everything was okay. I really like that, especially because he didn't have to at a counter service restaurant. This is a good choice if you're in the Anaheim packing district. The food was delicious.

My boyfriend and I visited the Anaheim Packing House for the first time and tried some tasty soul food. It was pretty loud in here since the packing house was filled with people. Georgia's wasn't too busy when we ordered, but once we sat down the line got pretty long. We dined in so we started with complimentary corn bread and honey butter. It was sweet and the texture was perfect-- golden outside and soft on the inside, not too dry neither. We were offered more but I needed to save room for the main dish. I had some delicious chicken and waffles. The chicken was very crispy and I loved the sweet and savory pairing with the syrup. I could only finish half of it because it's so filling. My server was awesome! She brought me a to go box and included more honey butter and syrup.

Can this restaurant accommodate large groups?

A friend of mine had her graduation party there. Our hosts were very accommodating to make it a PERFECT event. Just reach out to the manager. They will work with you.

Is this restaurant offering Thanksgiving catering?

Hello Bri, thank you for your message. We will be offering thanksgiving dinner at the Long Beach location. Thank you.

Is this restaurant good on its own merits, regardless of it being black-owned?

It's a really delicious restaurant. Great food and customer service. Last I checked Anaheim location is closed due to COVID. Long Beach location is open but prepare for long lines.

What third party delivery service does your establishment use? Also, how many miles away will it deliver?

I've personally used Postmates and I live 7-10 miles away. Delivered with no problem.

What is the estimate wait time for a party of 3 during Sunday brunch?

Wait time for food depends on what you order and how busy they are. Wait time for seating will vary. It's in the Packing District, you don't have to sit where the restaurant is located. You can take your food and sit where ever there is an open spot.

Do do you have barbecue shrimp and grits?

They did not have shrimp and grits when we visited!!!

Is there chicken pot pie? How is it?

    Everything here is good

Any chance you'd sell me one of your shirts? My name is georgia and I'm a cook and I just love those shirts!

I think you should probably go into Georgia's and talk to them. I'm happy to know you went to Georgia's it's seriously the BEST!

Is this place black owned restaurant?

Thank you for your question. Yes, we are. For more information about our story, please visit us at www.georgias-restaurant.com

Finding a parking spot during rush hour will be difficult. Ambiance/Environment: They have a large space with lots of indoor seating and some outdoor seating. The inside is incredibly dark. Since my cousin brought her dog, we dined outside. They had a few umbrellas, but since the sun was setting, it didn't do much. It was very busy, so the wait time to dine inside was over 30 min. Since we opted to dine outside, we were luckily seated immediately. Service: I didn't catch his name, but thank you to the host who seated us immediately. He was really nice. Shout out to our server Elise for being quick and attentive. She checked on us a few times and refilled our waters. Throughput took under 20 min after ordering. Food & drinks: I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken and Dad's Mai Tai. The entree included baked & fried chicken thighs, drenched with hot honey Nashville sauce, and served with mac & cheese, green beans, and a biscuit on the side. The sauce was sweet and had a slight spicy kick to it. It made the chicken even more delicious. The mac & cheese was creamy, and the green beans were seasoned well. The biscuit was dry, and the butter didn't really help. I like sweet cocktails, but the Dad's Mai Tai was too sweet for me. The maybe extra shots of rum would've been sufficient. Pricing: I really enjoyed their dinner! Highly recommend the Nashville Hot Chicken entree! Prices are more than you'd expect, but it's not surprising in this economy.

It has this dark but classy aesthetic and I was not prepared for that (in a good way). This restaurant has been here for about 2 years with different ownership and menu so I was excited to see what they had to offer. Hugo helped us with our order and he was very friendly and professional. We went ahead and ordered the ahi tuna taco, pork belly bao, garlic fries, the margharita pizza, the yuzu lobster pasta, and for drinks I got the virgin burning thyme. My friend got that and other drinks as well. Ahi tuna taco - 5/5 probably the best food item for the evening. The tuna was fresh, perfect amount of kick in its sauce, and the outter shell was perfectly crunchy. I think them replacing the shell with wonton was exceptional with the texture. Every bite was extremely satisfying. Pork Belly bao - 4/5 everything was delicious. The bow itself is bouncy and moist. There wasn't anything special about the sauce inside with the pork belly, but I would definitely give it a try at least once. A great portion with your friends or family as an appetizer. Garlic fries - 3/5 It was a bit underwhelming, but nothing horrible. I could not taste the garlic at all, but the fries itself was cooked to perfection with the outer being pretty crispy and inside being soft. Margharita pizza - 4/5 I really like the crust and the breading of this pizza. It was crispy and the pepperoni was cooked to perfection. I really like the small pepperoni because it gives an immense amount of flavor in each bite. The cheese and the tomato sauce was fine, but nothing special. Yuzu lobster pasta - 4/5 I wish I was able to taste more of the Yuzu since that's in the name of the dish, but I could not. If it was just called the lobster pasta I would say it's amazing. The tomatoes were perfect to lighten the entire dish with the heavy sauce and the pasta. The lobster was cooked fine. Other than that it was fine, but I would say either enhance the Yuzu flavor or remove it in the name of the dish. Burning thyme - 4.5/5 I really like the acid and the balance of sweetness and sour in this drink. Usually, I get skeptical when I make an alcoholic drink version because the bartender tends to over sweeten the drink, but this was not the case, and I enjoyed it a lot with our food.

Since my mom worked next door and showed her employee badge we received a 20 percent discount. We were also granted free admission to their Saloon next door. Which usually charges either $10 or $15 for cover. I would return and highly recommend.

We attended a special Chartreuse tasting event at Strong Water which was being held in honor of…read moreChartreuse week and Chartreuse Day 1605 (May 16), the annual celebration of Chartreuse's origins and history. The tasting featured a great lineup of green and yellow Chartreuse paired with small bites. It concluded with a complementary Chartreuse-based cocktail from one of five recipes. Brand ambassador Taylor guided the event and began by telling us about the unique history of Chartreuse. The tasting started out with a small spoonful of Vegetal Elixir Chartreuse to warm up the palate. This is the base spirit of both green and yellow Chartreuse and clocks in at 138 proof. It was surprisingly not harsh, but immediately kicked my salivary glands into overdrive. I didn't even know that vintages of Chartreuse was a thing, but Taylor walked us through tasting three different vintages of both yellow and green Chartreuse, and it was surprising how different they were. The lineup concluded with more rare varietals of the green elixir 1605 and yellow cuvee. Great job, thanks Taylor! Chef Kling presented each small bite which included a crispy Icelandic cod, a roasted beet crostino, and a lamb slider. All of them had a five star list of ingredients and were delicious. Strong Water is known for their excellent cocktails, but their food is also great. For my cocktail at the end of the event, I had the Bar Flower (Green Chartreuse, Crème de Cacao, Pineapple, Lime). This was so good, with the herbal and chocolate flavors perfectly balanced. It was served with a flaming lime half. This was such a great event! Chartreuse retails for around $100 a bottle, and the higher-end varieties cost even more. At just $45 per person, this event was an amazing bargain. Strong Water frequently hosts great events, so keep an eye on their social media for upcoming dates. I really love Chartreuse, so I went back a few days later on the last day of Chartreuse week to try a few of the other limited time cocktails. I started out with their twist on a Grasshopper (Chartreuse, Crème de Menthe, Chili Liqueur, Crème de Cacao, Cream, Cane, $22). This was a great classic Grasshopper, but the Chartreuse added a herbal complexity, and there is a dash of heat on the finish from the chili liqueur. Next I had the Flare Gun (Yellow Chartreuse, Overproof Rum, Italian Bitter, Lime, Cane, $20). The yellow Chartreuse definitely comes through, but it's softer and has a light sweetness, unlike the green variety. Even though it contains overproof rum, it is perfectly balanced and not boozy at all. I usually don't like bitter drinks, but the bitterness was at a perfect light level. I finished off with the Tales from the Black Lagoon which is my favorite drink here, and it's also a favorite of many of the bartenders. All three cocktails were a home run. Chartreuse is an expensive spirit, so those drinks cost a little more than average. Shout out to Karen, Joey, Edgar, Jordan, and Ying for excellent hospitality, as always. Strong Water is our favorite place. We can't wait to go back!

They were charging for parking so we paid $30 plus processing fee. Kevin the manager couldn't care less that we were here as customers not for the monster truck thing so they didn't give us a table and we had to sit at the bar. He initially said that there was a 30 min wait even though we could see empty tales. We had already paid so we had to stay to get the $30 discount on your bill when spending $30. He was not willing to refund since they were not technically the ones charging you. Once we sat at the bar, the bartender was nice and made us feel comfortable so we could enjoy our night. The place was crowded with families with kids, adults just overindulging and being very loud. The moment the event started time got closer, all of this crowd started leaving which allowed us to really enjoy our night. The food was great as always. The poke nachos are really tasty with a good balance of fish and nachos. The fish and chips is one of our go to dishes they are always perfectly cooked. We have noticed that shrinkflation has happened throughout the years, but after enjoying a few beers you don't notice anymore. This was the first time trying their burger and it was amazing! The patty was perfectly cooked and the flavors just worked together. We also decided to give the beeramisu a second try and we enjoyed it. It is a creative and unique twist to your traditional tiramisu. Since it had been a while, we didn't even know that they have a club now. We gladly join and got the poke nachos as a welcome gift. Overall the experience started on a bad note but we left happy after good food, service and drinks. Also, Kevin came by after the mess to check on us and apologize for the inconvenience. Make sure you check the angel stadium for event before you come, they will be busy.

But we got a super nice host who noticed our mistake and kindly sat us down right away. We appreciated the customer service. We ordered the brussel sprouts (3 out of 5) and the carne asada fries (4 out of 5). Both were large portions, enough for two people to share as an appetizer. I especially enjoyed the green cilantro sauce on the carne asada fries! I love that this location lets you do a beer flight with as few as 2 beers. Some of my favorite beers I tried in my flight were the Golden Stout, Wreck Alley (a stout), and Boat Shoes (a tropical IPA). One thing that shocked me about the restaurant setup was the lack of TVs. It has a sports vibe, especially with Angel Stadium right across the street, but the only TV I could see from where I was sitting was super far away. So come for great beer flights and fun apps, but not to hang out and watch sports.
