First time trying Georgia's. They have quite the selection on their menu. It was hard to choose but I went with the jambalaya. It had decent flavor but tasted like a reheated tv dinner. The chicken and shrimp were definitely from those prepared bags you get from the store. It was pretty expensive for the portion I received as well. There is a good amount of seating for their customers and it was clean. Service was extremely friendly and quick. Not sure I would come back here based on the value. read more

Checked out Georgia's at the Anaheim Packing District with my lady. She got the fried chicken, yams, and mac n cheese, and I got the jambalaya over rice. The fried chicken was definitely solid and the jambalaya was honestly on point -- flavorful and filling. The only thing that missed for us was the mac n cheese. It tasted like it had been reheated and the cheese never melted right, so the texture came out kind of mushy. One of the many small restaurants inside the Anaheim Packing House, Georgia's is a delicious Southern food restaurant with hearty portions and tons of flavor. The fried chicken is hard to beat. The fried catfish is crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside and not fishy at all. The traditional sides are great: collard greens are full of flavor, coleslaw is traditional, the yams are sweet, the mac & cheese is creamy with a little spice, and the mashed potatoes with the bacon gravy can't be beat. You can get your food to go or enjoy it in the seating space next to the restaurant. Service is fast and efficient and all the cashiers I've dealt with are friendly. If you're getting a to-go order, you order yourself at the kiosk, but if you're eating in the packing house, you order with the cashier. Enjoy! read more

I met a friend here and while I was browsing around for what to eat, I came across this place and went with the food here, since you don't come across places like this very often. They have a small seating area in their section and you order at the cashier, or if you're doing take out they have a kiosk where you can place your order without any contact. I ordered the Fried Catfish ($22.95) and chose fries and coleslaw as my 2 sides. It took about 10-15 minutes for my order to come out, and the catfish was sooo tender and steaming hot when I got to my table and opened it back up. The only thing was that the fries were not. The fries on the other hand were cold and soggy, meaning that they were sitting out for a long time while they were frying the catfish. The catfish itself was great. It was so tender that it was practically falling off the fork as I tried eating it. It was also plenty of food and I could barely finish it all. Service was nice and friendly, and it wasn't the quickest, but the fish was great. The fries I was a bit disappointed with. Coleslaw wasn't bad but wasn't anything outstanding either. read more

Georgia's is a southern comfort restaurant. This location is inside the Anaheim Packing House. They have a small section by their area for seating with service, or you can get it togo and enjoy it in general seating if your party want to eat other things as well. My boyfriend and I were both ordering at Georgia's so we decided to sit in their section. You order and pay at the counter and they will give you a number. My boyfriend had the Blacken Catfish ($22.95) which came with 2 sides. He opted for the Mac N Cheese and Seasonal Vegetables. I ordered their Tri-Tip Salad ($18.95) replacing the blue cheese with shredded house blend cheese. Complimentary corn bread! Yum! What a pleasant surprise when they brought out the complimentary corn bread. It was soft and moist. A great way to start off the meal. My boyfriend's blacken catfish was a really small portion of fish. Nothing too impressive with the fish either. The seasoned vegetables are average. The mac and cheese was good. My salad was better by compare. The tri-tip salad was a nice way of being healthy but still eating something healthy. The raw red onions was the only thing I picked out of the salad. These would have added better flavor contribution to the salad if it was pickled or something. A decent option while at the Anaheim Packing House but some of their menu items are on the pricey end. This place is located in the Anaheim Packing District so parking will definitely be a challenge. They do offer valet parking so that should lessen the challenge a bit. Since there are so many different restaurants, I wanted to try a little from a couple of places. Georgia's restaurant does offer a small seating area but if it's busy, you'll have to find seating elsewhere. I ordered the following menu items. 1. Corn bread: I was told it's made in-house from scratch. Two muffin type cornbreads along with a honey butter. The cornbread was sweet and tender and the honey butter kicked it up a notch. I would definitely order this again. 2. Mac and Cheese: I was told it's made from scratch in-house. The Mac and cheese was not served hot, just warm. And while it had good flavor, the roux was grainy rather than smooth. I would not order this again. 3. Peach Cobbler: I had such high expectations for this since it's made in house from scratch. It had good flavor but it was dry (no liquid in the filling) and it lacked the biscuit and/or crispy type crust. I would not order this again. This review is based on my experience on Friday, May 15th. I met my friend for lunch so we decided to dine in and eat at Georgia's. I felt like I was at a private, stand alone restaurant with how attentive and on point Omar and Esmeralda were. I mean, they were patient, answered all the questions my friend had concerning the food - they let her modify and change her order numerous times and they werent annoyed at all! LOL. You can tell Omar takes pride in his job, and he does his best to make sure the guests feel welcomed. Esmeralda was just the sweetest with her smile. You can see the joy in their faces like they really enjoy their job and what they do. Even the cooks in the back were nice! I didnt have any cash to tip them and I felt so bad, but they assured me that it was okay. They werent being nice just for a tip, they were being sweet and accomodating to ensure we had the best experience at Georgia's - which we did! Now to the food..we ordered so much! We got peach cobbler, a lemon cake, a waffle, shrimp n grits, some kind of etoufee or however you spell it, beignets and...man oh man those complimentary biscuit things were so darn good. Who came for lunch to this restaurant in the Anaheim packing district. We chose this because I had a nice selection of seafood, all prepared Cajun style. I ordered the sea bass with the side of Cajun Rice and corn on the cob. Hubby ordered blackened catfish with black-eyed peas and red beans and rice. We both really enjoyed our food. The portions were pretty big for lunch so we ended up taking most of it home. Came for dinner on Tuesday night 5/5 with a group of friends. Seemed like a busy night, but there were plenty of seats. Food was decent overall, and I have to give credit where it's due--the cornbread was genuinely delicious. That said, the customer service really took away from the experience. The blond woman who took my order wasn't very personable and seemed disengaged. I wasn't offered a receipt, and when I asked questions (like about condiments), the responses were short and not very helpful--no effort to explain options or make suggestions. Not sure if she was upset but her attitude definitely gave the impression she did not want to be there. I also noticed other customers going up for refills, but that was never mentioned to me, so I didn't even realize it was an option. It felt like more attention was going to staff conversations on the side than to customers. A little more attentiveness and communication would make a big difference here. On a more positive note, a young male employee stood out in a good way--I noticed he brought dishes out frequently, checked on us a few times, cleared our plates, and even acknowledged us as we were leaving for the night. There's so much to tell about Georgia's! Located in the Anaheim Packing District, I can only imagine how this would be if it was a stand alone restaurant. You order at the counter and they bring your food to the table. Simple concept. It's a food hall with a really laid back and sway vibe. Different offerings for any taste bud but I would pick Georgia's each time. The owner came over to check on us and offer some history on the restaurant. She refilled glasses, cleared tables and assisted her staff in many ways. That alone is a plus in my book. They bring the table a complimentary bowl of cornbread and honey butter before the food comes out. This cornbread belongs in the food hall of fame! I ordered the fried catfish with cabbages and mac n cheese. I'm not a fan of the way the cabbage was done and should have opted for the collard greens, which someone in my party tried to get the owner to ship her some home lol. The cabbages had excellent flavor but I don't like peppers and onions in mine. Just a personal preference. The Mac and cheese was stellar! Cheesy and buttery and seasoned to perfection. My fish was also good but I would have preferred whole pieces instead of the cut pieces. It was seasoned well but cooked just a tad too much for my liking. Oh and try the sweet tea! It was so good. Hear me out. I think I ordered the wrong thing. My inclination was to order catfish and Mac and cheese with corn bread. I should have. I'll give this place another try. The chicken tasted like shake and bake, the waffle tasted like corn dog batter. Not at all impressed and won't order this again from here. I'll go to the one in eastvale and then write another review. I was disappointed the chicken tasted a day old even my husband agreed. Located deep within the Anaheim Packing House, this gem stood out to us with its lovely wooden shopfront and expansive menu! We ordered the sweet potato fries and the Lemon Seabass. The seabass was so delicious and parted smoothly with each parting of my fork. The sauce was also amazing, and complimented the fish and sauce so well! I ordered the fried green tomatoes with lemon ramula sauce and collard greens, and they GAVE me a cornbread biscuit with butter...yummm. I saw some of the food others ordered. Whew, talk about southern cooking, the dining room was busy. The collards were good, I needed hot sauce to complete the taste, which they had. The fried green tomatoes were about 1 1/2" thick and very heavily battered. So much so that I couldn't taste the tomatoes. To remedy that I removed the bottom batter coating, then it was on like popcorn . Talk about good eats. If you go get the fried green tomatoes and the jambalaya; at least four people ordered the jambalaya while so was in the restaurant. First time to Georgia's. I'm spoiled having dined in South LA, Crenshaw and Inglewood where it's much better, as well as Fixins Soul Kitchen in LA Live. All very different experiences - I prefer smaller mom n pop places like The Family in South LA. As everyone knows, the parking at Anaheim Packing House sucks big time. I only chose this place since I was meeting family who were doing a Disney tour. I was driving solo, so add $15 to your "tab" since you'll need to valet your car unless you get lucky. I went on a Tuesday night. Everyone liked the food. I got the smothered pork chops. They have real cutlery which is a plus, no way plastic knives would work. The bacon gravy is great, as were the collard greens and cajun rice. Good portions too. The peach cobbler had cardamom rather than cinnamon, which some of my group didn't like. I'm somewhat neutral, but then again, I like cilantro too. Service was friendly - felt bad there was 1 server and 1 cook hustling with our group of 6. Can't say much about the ambiance, as it's a food court. It's nice there's local soul food now that I'm in OC, but since parking is so bad, I don't plan on being a regular. read more

I wanted this place to be so good, and unfortunately it was a huge letdown. We had friends over and ordered a big meal with fried chicken, red beans n rice, corn on the cob, chicken soup, onion rings, and cornbread. While the food was fresh, it lacked ANY seasoning, herbs, spices, salt, etc. 100% bland plain food. I couldn't believe it! Let's start with the fried chicken - turns out it's all boneless meat, but had they put ANY seasoning on the chicken or in the bread crumbs n flour, it would have been fine. But it was truly the most-plain chicken I've ever had with tons of flour and some bread crumbs. All you could taste was caked flour. On top of that, one would expect them to use clean oil but that was not the case either. The onion rings were made the same way - zero salt or pepper or seasoning in the batter, then fried in old dirty oil. We could only taste caked flour and dirty oil. Nasty. The corn on the cob was probably the worst. Just boiled corn. No butter, no salt, no pepper, nada. Why? The red beans and rice, along with the chicken soup, were salvageable by adding hot sauce to them, as they also lacked seasoning and spices. Would have been nice for the chicken soup to have more than 2 tiny pieces of chicken. This is really just vegetable soup. The cornbread was the only item that tasted as expected, particularly since they provided cups of melted butter. But, overall, this was a huge disappointment and most of the food went in the garbage. Hopefully this was a one off experience but I can't afford to give them a second chance. read more

I just saw the menu is gigantic but honestly this review gets 2 stars because the size of the chicken breasts they are so small and like flat and the breading that they swear by my blind grandma could of added more flavor it was extremely bland and the Mac and cheese just has no flavor and the macaroni they use isn't of good quality and the sauce is runny it's not thick a bigger noodle would be better and the sauce was lacking again flavor.
