Great oysters! Stopped in for some beer and oysters. Took advantage of happy hour and enjoyed them for only 2 dollars each. We had 3 dozen! They were so fresh and delicious. The service was on point as we were greeted by some friendly people and served with class and finesse. This is a very nice looking place. It's been a while since I've been back to the south street seaport and everything is so different. It used to be a public place where people could go and enjoy the views and have some fun eating and drinking but now it's become a more exclusive place with restaurants and music venues, cool but not the same. Nonetheless I can still enjoy it but I miss the old outdoor patio where you can just sit and have a beer.

We went to pier 15 the Watermark to have a late lunch and was dying to have oysters well that didn't happen and a story for another time. Like I always say things happen for a reason, we continue our walk towards pier 17 a sign with oysters yes yes yes lol. They were it serving outside due to the air quality and heat . We were skeptical because it looked like a high end restaurant but they were very welcoming. The experience was amazing delicious salty oysters first round went down like water so we ordered two more dozens lol-sooo fresh went down perfectly with my tiny mini olive oil martini-what an end to our seaport experience. Will definitely will come back. All our servers was so professional they made you feel welcome thank you guys .

I like this place a lot but not today we walked in for brunch place was half empty. The hostess was rude. Made us wait 10 minutes. Took care of 2 other guests that came in after us . Then proceeded to tell us there's nothing available and we have to eat at the bar. We were so turned off. We just left. We are local to the area so it was very disappointing..

Came back to Carne Mare for my birthday this year and was not disappointed. The weather was nice to view the seaport clearly but not to eat outside. As usual the service was impeccable as Anthony and his team really looked out for me. The chef had a calamari special so I ordered that to start. New on the menu from the last time I was here is the Lasagna. It's a generous size but not an overly thick pasta and so delicious. I ordered the King Carne prime rib (medium rare) as my main and it was AMAZING . I was so full I couldn't order dessert but since it was my birthday they brung me a complimentary gelato, it hit just right. Side note the A-mock-xicillin is a great drink (non-alcoholic). Had an amazing experience made some new friends. Perfect place for a group dinner or an intimate date. 10/10

My most recent visit to Carne Mare was for the Winter 2026 Restaurant Week menu, and it absolutely delivered. I started with the wagyu beef tartare--outstanding and exactly what you want from this classic: rich, impeccably seasoned, and beautifully balanced. For the main course, I chose the King Salmon Salsa Calabresi. The ingredients were clearly top-tier, and the sauce had just the right amount of acidity to complement the salmon without overpowering it. The skin was crisped to perfection. Dessert was the mascarpone cheesecake, and honestly, it was flawless--light, creamy, and the perfect way to end the meal. I also have to compliment the bartender. She made one of the finest Negronis I've ever had, and I've had more than my fair share. Perfectly balanced and expertly executed. When I visit Carne Mare, I usually sit at the bar, which I highly recommend. The leather barstools are genuinely comfortable (with proper backrests--an underrated detail), and the bar itself is a stunning mix of warm wood and hammered copper. It's a beautiful space and a great way to experience the restaurant. Between the food, the cocktails, and the atmosphere, Carne Mare continues to be one of my favorite spots in the city--sophisticated, welcoming, and consistently excellent.

Andrew Carmellini's Italian chophouse at Pier 17 blends style and substance. Standout dishes include the woodland mushroom agnolotti that's luxuriously delicate, with tender pillows of pasta giving way to an earthy, deeply savory filling. The solo di bruna adds a silky richness that elevates the dish into something refined, comforting, and quietly indulgent all at once. The honeynut squash cacio e pepe is tender and caramel-kissed, coated in a blanket of sharp cheese and cracked black pepper that melts seamlessly into each bite Pair it with the house wedgini and a 12-ounce gorgonzola-cured Wagyu striploin, and it'll deliver a memorable finish. Plus the server was amazing! He was sassy and from Brooklyn! So fun

We dined here in October and it was excellent! The sommelier and oysters made the experience. My whole party just decided to have oysters although we usually are not big on them, and we have been thinking of them ever since! The ambience was perfect for a special occasion as we were celebrating a birthday. The meal was worth the splurge. The food was very good as well.

We stopped at Carne Mare for early dinner and made reservations in advance for the AMEX credit. The restaurant opened at exactly 5 which left us waiting outside for a bit. Forfood, we ordered the mozzarella sticks with caviar, steak tartare, baked potatoes, and the Tomahawk steak. This was definitely too much food for two people. I definitely recommend getting the mozzarella sticks with caviar and the baked potato. The steak is good for someone who is feeling meaty and is definitely enough for two people. We also got the baked Alaska, which they lit up front of us, it was cute but the rum flavor was overpowering. Overall cute restaurant with good food, lots of seating, and a nice view.

This place is terrific. Right along the water at the seaport. Atmosphere is like an classic, old school, steakhouse style. Service is excellent. Cocktails are creative. Food is fantastic. We ate so much because everything caught our eye and tasted so good. The portions are a good size. I really enjoyed the halibut, twice baked potato, the bread, and the mozzarella stick with caviar. I recommend coming hungry. Have come back a few times for a drink at the bar and have enjoyed every visit. Definitely planning to come back and eat again, too, that baked potato has been calling my name. Food tips: Twice baked potato, mozzarella sticks with caviar Drink tips: Lambrusco with Gin

I was here for a baby shower in a private room. It was such a memorable experience and the service was excellent. The restaurant itself was stunning and the view of the seaport and river was the icing on the cake. Thank you!!!

Great food, amazing service, and a special ambiance. A dear childhood friend who lives in FiDi recommended this spot, and it did not disappoint. We started with perfectly seared scallops, then moved on to steak--mine was a tender filet mignon, his a decadent Gorgonzola Wagyu (he shared a couple of bites--OMG!). We added broccoli on the side, and for dessert, indulged in a towering chocolate cake with what felt like an endless number of layers.

After a hot day of roaming FiDi we wanted to eat by the water. Cool off, enjoy the breeze and have some good eats. We had a reservation at Carne Mare so off we went. We ordered the Granita and Alpino for drinks. The drinks took a very long time to come. It came way after we were finished with our appetizer. The granita was a cup with chunks of ice, grapefruit, and other flavors. They bring a bottle of Prosecco to finish making the drink table side. The server had to carry other drinks and the bottle. She struggled to balance the bottle with everything. I was worried something would drop. The bottle didn't have enough Prosecco. They should just finish making the drink at the bar. The drink was delicious though! Fruity and refreshing. The Alpino was skippable. For our appetizer we had the spicy crab lettuce cups. Small portion for the price, but tasty. Careful when eating this, a misplaced bite can cause all your sauce to leak out. We also had some complimentary bread. The bread was baked well! Hot and toasty, the cheese and salt flakes were amazing. Service was a bit inconsistent here. When the bread was served, some tables were given butter some were not. We had to ask for butter twice and it took them about 20 minutes to give it. As for our mains we had the Mezzi Rigatoni and Milanese Cowboy Veal Chop. The rigatoni was not good. Lukewarm and loaded with rosemary that was overpowering. The rosemary was not chopped at all. Whole leaves of rosemary was in the dish. Each bite had dry and hard to chew leaves. The veal chop was just straight up bad. It was a huge dry piece of meat. It felt unseasoned and extra fatty. I had to cut off pieces of fat before eating my chop. $75 for this absolute rubbish topped with a sprig of rosemary. The sides were okay. We had the potatoes rustica and creamed spinach. The potatoes were fried to perfection. Well seasoned, probably the best thing we ate besides the bread. The creamed spinach felt like a wet slop. With dinner being so disappointing, we didn't bother to look at the dessert menu. Save your money and go somewhere else.

A Birthday Dinner That Felt Like a Scene From a New York Movie…read more We chose Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse for my birthday dinner because we wanted something special--not just a good meal, but a real New York moment. And the moment we walked in, I thought, yes... this is exactly where a birthday should happen. The restaurant is absolutely stunning. The high ceilings, dramatic staircase, rich wood, elegant details, and huge dining room made everything feel grand and glamorous. It had the classic energy of an American steakhouse, but with a modern and luxurious New York style. Then I noticed the enormous floor-to-ceiling windows. Honestly, the glass was so perfectly clean that I almost forgot there was glass there at all. For a second, it felt like the entire city was simply open in front of us. I was strangely impressed by this because giant windows in a busy city are not always this spotless. But here, they were crystal clear, and the New York view became part of our dinner. We sat looking out at the city, ordered wine, and began my birthday celebration. Then, as if someone had carefully planned the scene, a sudden rain shower started outside. Perfect timing. There we were, sitting inside this beautiful restaurant, watching the rain fall over New York through the giant windows, drinking delicious wine, eating incredible food, and celebrating my birthday with my family. It felt less like dinner and more like a scene from a movie. The wine was wonderful, and every dish we ordered was delicious. The oysters were fresh and clean-tasting. The burrata was creamy, soft, and beautiful with the tomatoes. The warm bread arrived shiny with butter and was dangerously good--the kind of bread that makes you say, "I'm only having one," and then suddenly the basket is empty. The fish entrée was beautifully prepared, and the steak was exactly what I hoped for. It had a deeply seared, flavorful crust on the outside while staying tender and juicy inside. This was not the kind of steak you quietly eat. This was the kind of steak that makes everyone at the table stop talking for a moment. That silence was the review. Everything tasted carefully prepared, and the ingredients felt fresh and high quality. There was not one disappointing dish on the table. At the end of dinner, they brought out a lovely birthday dessert with strawberries, pink cream, a candle, and a "Happy Birthday" chocolate decoration. It was sweet, pretty, and the perfect ending to the evening. The beautiful interior, the sparkling wine, the city view, the sudden rain, the excellent food, and my family celebrating together made the entire night unforgettable. I went there expecting a nice birthday dinner. Instead, I received a full New York birthday movie scene--with steak. I would absolutely return the next time I visit New York. Ambiance: This place has a nice ambiance, definitely very "New York" -- dark (you can't see how dirty the floor is) and loud music (maybe too loud). We sat upstairs (we had a reservation) and of all the people on the top there was a party of 4 (us), a party of 8 (all dudes celebrating something) and the rest of the tables were on a DATE - which I thought was funny. Service: We were served by Ann-Marie who was so delightful. She was kind, super nice, and took the time to speak to us (which is basically how we figured out she wasn't a native New York City person). She gave us good food suggestions and we were very happy with our selection. Food: Here is what we ordered * Steak Frites: My two boys got the steak frites and I have to say the steak was awesome! I had a bite of each of theirs and they each ordered it differently (one Medium Rare/Medium and one Medium) and they both were prepared PERFECTLY. The fries were overflowing. * Caeser Salad with Salmon: My wife got the salad with Salmon (they only have a few salad options) and she enjoyed it. * Prawn and Crab Risotto: I got this and I have to say it was VERY bland. I wouldn't get this if you are looking for taste. I had to put salt and pepper on it to make it have any semblance of taste. Value/Price: I would say this is not over priced but it is not cheap either...bill is attached. I would recommend it to folks who are looking for a good place to either go out on a date or a family type meal.

Service was good. We had the fried chicken Benedict and the crab cake Benedict. I was a bit confused when I saw that each Benedict dish only had one poached egg - shouldn't it always be two? I guess that's shrinkflation (plus inflation) for you. That bent said, the crab cake was actually really big and filling. The side of potatoes were really delicious. Would I come back for brunch again? Very unlikely. But, it does seem like a pretty "safe choice" if you need a last minute reservation for a group.

I sat at the bar, since it was only me, but tho the bar wasn't busy and service was friendly, it was very slow. The food was wonderful! I'm glad I made the choices I did, tho of course nothing I wanted was included in the happy hour specials. The fried calamari was some of the best I've had tho it was observed with a little bit of cocktail sauce and a huge thing of tartar sauce. I'm sure I could have gotten more cocktail sauce, since I don't like tartar sauce, but it wasn't necessary. The calamari was so good. The lobster bisque was delicious and the picture can't show you that it was full of lobster. There was a LOT more lobster than a lobster bisque normally contains and the price was about normal for a lobster bisque with one tiny piece of lobster. The iced tea was a bit out of control. If I'm going to be charged $5 per glass of iced tea, that glass should be larger than the ones they use AND not 90% ice. That much for a glass of ice with a splash of iced tea is extreme. I'd still return, since the food was wonderful and hopefully I just got unlucky with the service.
