Came back to Carne Mare for my birthday this year and was not disappointed. The weather was nice to view the seaport clearly but not to eat outside. As usual the service was impeccable as Anthony and his team really looked out for me. The chef had a calamari special so I ordered that to start. New on the menu from the last time I was here is the Lasagna. It's a generous size but not an overly thick pasta and so delicious. I ordered the King Carne prime rib (medium rare) as my main and it was AMAZING . I was so full I couldn't order dessert but since it was my birthday they brung me a complimentary gelato, it hit just right. Side note the A-mock-xicillin is a great drink (non-alcoholic). Had an amazing experience made some new friends. Perfect place for a group dinner or an intimate date. 10/10

We dined here in October and it was excellent! The sommelier and oysters made the experience. My whole party just decided to have oysters although we usually are not big on them, and we have been thinking of them ever since! The ambience was perfect for a special occasion as we were celebrating a birthday. The meal was worth the splurge. The food was very good as well.

We stopped at Carne Mare for early dinner and made reservations in advance for the AMEX credit. The restaurant opened at exactly 5 which left us waiting outside for a bit. Forfood, we ordered the mozzarella sticks with caviar, steak tartare, baked potatoes, and the Tomahawk steak. This was definitely too much food for two people. I definitely recommend getting the mozzarella sticks with caviar and the baked potato. The steak is good for someone who is feeling meaty and is definitely enough for two people. We also got the baked Alaska, which they lit up front of us, it was cute but the rum flavor was overpowering. Overall cute restaurant with good food, lots of seating, and a nice view.

This place is terrific. Right along the water at the seaport. Atmosphere is like an classic, old school, steakhouse style. Service is excellent. Cocktails are creative. Food is fantastic. We ate so much because everything caught our eye and tasted so good. The portions are a good size. I really enjoyed the halibut, twice baked potato, the bread, and the mozzarella stick with caviar. I recommend coming hungry. Have come back a few times for a drink at the bar and have enjoyed every visit. Definitely planning to come back and eat again, too, that baked potato has been calling my name. Food tips: Twice baked potato, mozzarella sticks with caviar Drink tips: Lambrusco with Gin

I was here for a baby shower in a private room. It was such a memorable experience and the service was excellent. The restaurant itself was stunning and the view of the seaport and river was the icing on the cake. Thank you!!!

Great food, amazing service, and a special ambiance. A dear childhood friend who lives in FiDi recommended this spot, and it did not disappoint. We started with perfectly seared scallops, then moved on to steak--mine was a tender filet mignon, his a decadent Gorgonzola Wagyu (he shared a couple of bites--OMG!). We added broccoli on the side, and for dessert, indulged in a towering chocolate cake with what felt like an endless number of layers.

After a hot day of roaming FiDi we wanted to eat by the water. Cool off, enjoy the breeze and have some good eats. We had a reservation at Carne Mare so off we went. We ordered the Granita and Alpino for drinks. The drinks took a very long time to come. It came way after we were finished with our appetizer. The granita was a cup with chunks of ice, grapefruit, and other flavors. They bring a bottle of Prosecco to finish making the drink table side. The server had to carry other drinks and the bottle. She struggled to balance the bottle with everything. I was worried something would drop. The bottle didn't have enough Prosecco. They should just finish making the drink at the bar. The drink was delicious though! Fruity and refreshing. The Alpino was skippable. For our appetizer we had the spicy crab lettuce cups. Small portion for the price, but tasty. Careful when eating this, a misplaced bite can cause all your sauce to leak out. We also had some complimentary bread. The bread was baked well! Hot and toasty, the cheese and salt flakes were amazing. Service was a bit inconsistent here. When the bread was served, some tables were given butter some were not. We had to ask for butter twice and it took them about 20 minutes to give it. As for our mains we had the Mezzi Rigatoni and Milanese Cowboy Veal Chop. The rigatoni was not good. Lukewarm and loaded with rosemary that was overpowering. The rosemary was not chopped at all. Whole leaves of rosemary was in the dish. Each bite had dry and hard to chew leaves. The veal chop was just straight up bad. It was a huge dry piece of meat. It felt unseasoned and extra fatty. I had to cut off pieces of fat before eating my chop. $75 for this absolute rubbish topped with a sprig of rosemary. The sides were okay. We had the potatoes rustica and creamed spinach. The potatoes were fried to perfection. Well seasoned, probably the best thing we ate besides the bread. The creamed spinach felt like a wet slop. With dinner being so disappointing, we didn't bother to look at the dessert menu. Save your money and go somewhere else.

This restaurant spared no expense in decorations and comfort. Most tables are super comfortable booths. Upstairs and downstairs seating with nice city and river views. Service was prompt and friendly. Not stuffy. Food was delicious. Everything was 5/5 Tomahawk my wife, daughter and I split ($195). Tuna Appetizer and Caesar were both excellent. Rhône on captain list at $99 was perfect soft lucioius. Very expensive but it was a birthday celebration and we splurged.

Saturday, 6/7/2025 - Tried Carne Mare at Pier 17. Address is 89 South St, Pier 17, New York, NY 10038 (South Street Seaport). Restaurant looks nice. They have a 2nd floor where you can dine. The bathroom is on the 2nd floor too. They have outdoor seating too. There's a beautiful stair case. When we went there to check in, the hostess said they had seating outside. So we dined outside. I guess they were full inside. It was raining this day, so the chairs outside was wet. But my jeans were wet from sitting on the chair even tho a waiter wiped it down. Bummer. Loooong wait for anything we ask for. Goodness the service was slow. But besides the extremely slow service outside, foods were good, water tasted good, restaurant looked clean, inside restaurant looked beautiful.

TLDR: Another AC spot but as the name suggests, meat/seafood is the star. Mozz & caviar, lobster pasta, duck. If you're in the area, worth a stop. Very random weeknight dinner with some colleagues. Popped in and tried a bit of everything. Apps-wise, got the spicy crab lettuce cups, mozz & caviar. The crab cups were good but kinda tasted like a spicier crab cocktail although maybe that's the idea. The mozzarella and caviar is expensive at $16 each but it's very well done. That crispy coating, the cheese is sweet, stretchy and that briney cavier complements it well. Lobster pasta, spicy, very tasty but probably would get one per two people if sharing. Veal chop milanese was good but kinda what you'd expect. It's cooked wel but yeah, fried chop. The duck was very tasty, well-seasoned, not gamey and quite luscious with that sauce. The creamed spinach and the roasted potatoes went perfect. Overall, would stop in again with the wife one day and come back to try some other things.

Absolutely the very best in the truly amazing restaurants in NYC's finest location at the Financial District at picturesque Pier 17 overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge and the wide river, this place is not a touristy at all. The service is top notch and foods are amazing. The prime rib comes out 16 oz. of perfectly cooked medium rare, breads are truly delicious and so nostalgic worthy of what the very best of the American Cuisine used to be like, each appetizer is seemingly made with Michelin Stars Chefs and the main dishes are served without any distractions. The price is what you expect for the best quality of what the center of the universe of capitalism provides. I would definitely like to recommend this one. The wine list is very much Italian and French centric. The ambience and location are as good as it can get. Big fat five stars.

For a steakhouse on Pier 17, which has been built up lots in recent years to become a destination for tourists and locals, it still has a calm and sophisticated vibe! Def a great spot for a romantic dinner or a celebration. Great service too, from the host who seated us to all the servers/runners we interacted with during our meal. Our cocktails were very well made and tasty! They even had a few spirit-free cocktails which were also great. The food good, but didn't blow me away. The meal started with complimentary bread, which was so flavorful and light and fluffy! We started with the $16 mozzarella with caviar appetizer - tasty but overrated. It tasted like both individual ingredients put together, and not like something new or unique. For entrees, we had the ribeye and the filet mignon with sides of creamed spinach and rustic potatoes. Everything was good except the filet which was tougher than I'm used to and kind of dry. The steaks came with a couple of different sauces, which saved the filet, but for the prices they charge, it shouldn't need it. That said, the salsa verde is chef's kiss! We wrapped up our meal with a lemon sorbetto and some port wine, which was also good.

Came to Carne Mare with clients for a work event, it totally lived up to the hype. From start to finish, the experience felt elevated but still welcoming. The service was amazing--super professional, attentive, and just really on point. You can tell the staff is trained to give you that fine dining experience without making it feel stiff or pretentious. The restaurant is so beautiful inside, a lovely ambiance too--elegant but not over-the-top, with a cool, classic NYC vibe. The food was so delicious, a specialty chefs menu was made for our party. Highly recommend the mozzarella sticks with caviar!

Even if we wouldn't have gotten a window table and it wasn't Christmas, the vibes and interior of this place would have still been great. We went in December night of 2024 so some aspects of the menu have changed however, most of the dishes still appear to be on their menu as of now, June 2026. It appears most changes comes to the type of pasta used in a dish, aspects around a dishes main focus and gelato/dessert flavors. Everything we ordered was an 8 or above out of 10. The beet salad (BARBABIETOLE) is easily 10/10 and a top 3 salad we have ever had. The chocolate cake with gelato (TORTINO DI CIOCCOLATO) was 10/10 and the best dessert we had at Da Andrea. We ordered 3 total, including the ricotta cheesecake and tiramisu. Tuna Tartare, gorgonzola pasta and bolognese are 9's. The fritto misto, the other pasta we ordered and the other 2 desserts are 8's. If you're in New York make reservations and go. My Wife found this place and made reservations. Only thing I regret after looking at additional photos is not ordering the grilled pork chop.

L'Artusi has been on my radar for a while, ever since I heard it was a hot spot and saw reviews of…read moreit being one of the best Italian restaurants in NYC. Being Italian American, I'm hypercritical of spots like these - but nevertheless the positive reviews were overwhelming so I wanted to check it out for myself. One of my friends and I were looking to catch up, so I booked a table and off we went. While it can be tricky to get a reservation during prime dinner time, it's relatively easy to get a lunch reservation - or an early/late dinner. I managed to get a reservation for dinner at 9:15pm which was the earliest I could find. The restaurant is pretty unassuming on the outside - it looks like a converted brownstone and once inside we were greeted by a large space with a sceney vibe. The space is split between two levels with a large bar up front and a semi-open kitchen in the back. The decor was modern - with lots of greys and neutral tones which was a little unexpected. The main star of the menu is pasta, but they also have a few non-pasta mains as well as some crudo selections, apps, and sides. We decided to get a few apps, two pastas, and one side. To start, we went with the octopus, roasted mushrooms, burrata crostone, and focaccia. These were all really good, but my favorite was the mushrooms. I'm usually not a fan of mushrooms but these were prepared with red pepper and fried egg and were delicious; it cut through the earthiness and changed the texture to something I really enjoyed. The focaccia was also a standout - it's house made and was paired with a peppery oil that complemented the bread well. For mains we split two pastas - the caccio e pepe and the rigatoni. Both of these were very good, though I felt the rigatoni was the stronger dish. It was prepared with sausage ragu, soppressata, broccoli rabe pesto, and pecorino. The flavors worked really well together and the pasta was cooked al dente. The caccio e pepe was perfectly fine, I just feel it's been overplayed and didn't feel there was anything that stood out amongst the others I've tried. We also got a broccoli rabe as a side which was great. We couldn't leave without dessert and decided to get their olive oil cake and quattro formaggio cheesecake. The restaurant is known for the former - it was perfectly fine but I've had olive oil cakes elsewhere of the same or better quality. The cheesecake was the stronger dessert IMO - the combination of cheeses gave it an interesting, almost savory flavor. The brûlée top and mascerated strawberries were great texture and flavor complements. Service was great - the place was packed but service was consistently on point and everyone was friendly. Overall, I had a good experience at L'Artusi. While everything was very good, I'm struggling to find the exact reason why this place became such a hot spot compared to other Italian spots in the city. Nevertheless, you'll have a good meal here and I would definitely return if given the opportunity.

I read the reviews mostly good so I was hoping for the best. My friends and I were not disappointed. The first thing I noticed was there were 7 people in my party and 4 arrived early and did not have to wait for my arrival to be seated. Second the waiter who took our order was polite and on point with specials and knowledge of the menu. He (just never caught his name) suggested the Rigatoni which chicken and sausage. I am not really a pasta eater but baby that dish could change that; it was DELICIOUS. I even liked the anchovy dressing on my Caesar Salad and I dislike anchovies. All the dishes ordered (chicken parm, mussels chicken paillard etc.) everyone enjoyed them immensely. The only negative was when the Chicken Paiikard arrived it was supposed to a shared dish by the elderly couple and they asked for regular dinner plates from one of the servers. But this will not lower my rating as it was taken care of swiftly. The portions were the perfect size and I was not stuffed but pleasantly satified. We told them the time of our show, food was out quickly, nicely presented, still hot and very tasty. The restaurant was not noisy and had space between the tables. It also had an elevator for those who could not manage stairs. Trattoria Trecolori you will be added to my must go again list! Thank for a wonderful experience!
