Burrata Mozzarella
Tessa B.

Really enjoyable experience! I got the spaghetti vongole and ate the entire thing...they are also generous with the burrata portions. Cozy inside so be prepared to sit close to other parties, and they will have music playing on the speakers, but wasn't too loud for us to not hear each other. Complimentary bread wasn't the best but it's free so I can't dock any stars for that. Everyone loved our food and service was great. Would return

Menu was pretty limited for a vegetarian and the Pizza was nothing special in my personal opinion. For someone looking for authentic meat-centric dishes I feel your experience will be different. The soufflé was delicious but a little dry for my preference. Service:9/10 Has Apple Pay at the counter Ambiance 7/10 Very cramped

Very tasty food in a small yet incredibly cozy restaurant. This spot is perfect for a date night or a casual dinner with family. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it easy to relax and enjoy the meal. The prices were very fair for the portion sizes, which made the experience even better. The only thing that would have enhanced our visit was a bit more engagement from our server--introducing themselves when they came to the table, checking in to make sure everything was okay (we did need napkins), and not just stopping by when it was time for the check. Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a comfortable, intimate dining experience with great food.

We were staying in FiDi and Il Brigante was a short walk, located in the Seaport. Very cool area and open late. The food was amazing. The service was great. We sat outside with a 10pm reservation and it was still lively and welcoming. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend.

This restaurant is very small and cozy with a few outdoor tables. It's very close to the Seaport. Service was ok but a little pushy. The pizza we had as an appetizer was just meh...OK. My grilled chicken breast was unfortunately tough and dry. The green salad was good and had a tasty vinegarette dressing. They have ONE bathroom in the whole place and if you are waiting on line for it, there is nowhere to wait except right in the doorway to the kitchen which is a tight squeeze from all the waitstaff activity.

Lunch on Friday al fresco at il Brigante on a quiet side street near South Street Seaport. We started with the arancine. For main courses we had gnocchi alla Sorrentina, fettuccine Bolognese, and spinach fettuccine with truffles, mushrooms and tomatoes, along with a crisp Vermentino. It was a long, leisurely and delicious lunch!

The food, service and ambiance is amazing! The manager is so kind and loves wham! (He turned up the music when they came on) such a great experience especially at Christmas! Merry Christmas don't miss the delicious food and fun.

Rigatoni Funghi e Salsiccia (front) and Spaghetti alle Vongole Veraci (back)

We made a last-minute reservation on July 4th hoping to be near enough to watch the fireworks. The food and ambience were both great! Both pastas were amazing but I liked the rigatoni more (I may be biased though because I do love pink sauce)! The outdoor seating was intimate and quiet, I loved that the tables were spaced out so each table could have private conversations. Servers were attentive, and came at the right moments to check in. Kind of an aside, but after the meal, we were able to head down an alleyway to get a good view of the fireworks! Dining at Il Brigante was a great last-minute decision :)

Recently came here with the kids and family to enjoy a meal, and it was a great experience! The pasta dishes were delicious, and we also tried the chicken and Bronzino, which were really good. The calamari was another hit. The drinks complemented the food perfectly, and the service was super friendly. It was a bit light due to how packed the place was, and if you're sitting inside, expect it to be louder than usual. Overall, the service and food make it worth coming back again! Regarding Yelp, I recently had my Elite status removed after 8 years because I'm a business owner. Despite not being related or affiliated with any food businesses--only a local real estate office in NY--Yelp managers believe a business owner shouldn't be an Elite reviewer. In my opinion, being a business owner shouldn't disqualify someone from providing honest and fair reviews of unrelated businesses. My reviews are meant to be helpful and honest, and I believe that shouldn't affect my Elite status.

Very good Italian with a cozy feel! I stumbled upon this place by chance with very low expectations and I loved it! Tried three different pastas and all great. The staff was really nice and hey answered all our questions and made great recommendations. I will be coming back

Really not a bad spot to check out if you're in the area. It's a nice little Italian place with outdoor seating near the Seaport. Good service and decent pasta, I'm not normally a huge pesto fan but I liked this one

Spaghetti Alla Carbonara
Wendy C.

As soon as we walked in, my partner and I were seated by a lively and friendly host, but problems arose as soon as we sat down. Service: The waitress helping us gave my partner and I attitude when we needed a little more time deciding what to order (this was the very first time she asked if we were ready to order) and to have a bottle of sparkling water instead of tap. She visibly rolled her eyes. When she brought the bottle of Pellegrino and glasses out, she placed my glass right on the middle of the menu (the very menu I was looking at in order to decide what to order). I thought she wanted us to order quicker? We ultimately laughed both instances off, thinking it was an off day for her, but then noticed she was very polite and smiley to a couple that was leaving (she smiled and joked with them because they almost left their leftovers behind). I'm guessing it wasn't an off day after all. She was just off for us. All the other gentlemen that we interacted with were pleasant and friendly, so it's not a restaurant thing; it's definitely a person thing. Ambiance: Their outdoor setting is quite cozy and romantic looking. We didn't get to enjoy it, though, because we walked in too late. But the inside is equally as cozy and romantic. The brick stone walls and dim lighting adds to the coziness of it all. Food: The carbonara wasn't bad, but flavor wise, it was lacking. Definitely not cheesy enough. But most importantly, it was lacking a 'wow' factor because the dish tasted dead. The chicken and sausage with roasted potatoes and green beans (blanking on the Italian name): the chicken was breaded and the sauce it was coated in made me think I was actually having Chinese food. The only things that reminded me that I was having an Italian dish were the sausages, potatoes, and location I was in. Overall, I cannot picture myself coming back nor can I imagine myself recommending this place to anyone I know.

Tiramisu
Heidi L.

Cute little Italian place near South Street Seaport. I love the grilled branzino. It was so fresh and flavorful. My family love their pasta dishes with seafoods as well. The tiramisu was light and had strong rum flavor. The crunchy shaved dark chocolate topping added interesting texture to it. Service was friendly and the place was charming. We will definitely return.

Even if we wouldn't have gotten a window table and it wasn't Christmas, the vibes and interior of this place would have still been great. We went in December night of 2024 so some aspects of the menu have changed however, most of the dishes still appear to be on their menu as of now, June 2026. It appears most changes comes to the type of pasta used in a dish, aspects around a dishes main focus and gelato/dessert flavors. Everything we ordered was an 8 or above out of 10. The beet salad (BARBABIETOLE) is easily 10/10 and a top 3 salad we have ever had. The chocolate cake with gelato (TORTINO DI CIOCCOLATO) was 10/10 and the best dessert we had at Da Andrea. We ordered 3 total, including the ricotta cheesecake and tiramisu. Tuna Tartare, gorgonzola pasta and bolognese are 9's. The fritto misto, the other pasta we ordered and the other 2 desserts are 8's. If you're in New York make reservations and go. My Wife found this place and made reservations. Only thing I regret after looking at additional photos is not ordering the grilled pork chop.

Baba Al Rum was also tasty, as was the Orecchiette. Rigatoni was salty, but well-flavored. I visited a popular Italian restaurant from the Union Square Hospitality group with a group of five others. The restaurant is quite large, and although it was somewhat noisy, the tables were spaced apart enough that it was easy to hear everyone. We had an early dinner at 5:45 PM, which took quite a while, but I didn't mind. To drink, I went with the Bitter Giuseppe for $19, with Cynar 45.3, Punt e Mes, lemon, and sea salt. I'm a fan of most Negronis, and this was a particularly bitter version. The bit of lemon and sea salt added a unique but enjoyable flavor at the end, though in retrospect, the salt probably wasn't super necessary. Two of us split, and eventually, a few of us ordered their signature appetizer, the $18 Cast Iron Focaccia, with tomato conserva, a mixture of crushed tomatoes, olive oil, and Calabrian chili. The bread was fresh and warm, albeit a tad oily and salty, but it paired wonderfully with the conserva. As someone who doesn't like it when bread is extra, this was delicious and worth it. Another person ordered the $18 Insalata Verde. It was very large, but fairly basic, with a vinaigrette that had a citrusy and mustardy flavor. There was also the Caramelized Onion Torta for $27, which was very large, as expected for the price point. It had a creamy and tangy flavor from the Pecorino Toscano with some sweetness from the onion. It was delicious, but very heavy, and I would recommend that around three or four people split it alongside the focaccia. Finally, there was also the $15 Pizza Bianca, which was easily the smallest of all the plates, but they still enjoyed it. My main dish was the Orecchiette for $26, with ramps, pistachio, and pecorino. Like most of their dishes, the portion size was quite large, with plenty of pasta, which was perfectly cooked. The ramps added a touch of sweetness, although I would have liked a few more nuts. Additionally, there was almost too much pecorino, which made the dish slightly salty, but it was still enjoyable. As a side, I got the $19 Grilled Asparagus with dates, vermouth, and blue cheese, which came with many pieces of lightly charred asparagus. While there was plenty of funky blue cheese, I would have preferred more dates. Two of the others got the Rigatoni Alla Gricia for $30. The portion was large, and I tried a bit while they tried mine. The noodles were again cooked perfectly, and while there was a lot of guanciale, this was easily the saltiest of all the dishes. For dessert, I chose their Baba AU Rum for $18, which was uniquely mixed with chocolate and orange. The presentation was a bit off, as it looked like a certain emoji, but the flavor made up for it. The subtle hint of rum paired with the bitter-sweet chocolate and orange. The dark chocolate-covered orange slice on top was a nice touch as well. Someone else got a tart, and one other person got the Gelati, which resulted in one of the only faults during service. She heard it was two scoops, and ordered espresso stracciatella and hazelnut, but was given two separate orders for $12 each. The gelato was good, but unlike most things, definitely not worth it for the price. I liked the appetizers much more, but I found the food good overall. Tasty dessert, and the portions make up at least a bit for the relatively higher prices.

We started with the housemade focaccia and Wagyu carpaccio--both were outstanding, with the perfect balance of crispy, flavorful, and fresh elements. My partner and I shared the pasta, hangar steak, and potatoes, which turned out to be the ideal amount for two. We finished with the famous olive oil cake, which we loved for its subtly sweet, moist and tender bite. Served with lightly whipped cream and raisins, the combination was surprisingly delicious. We were also touched by the complimentary anniversary scoop of ice cream. The interior seating is a bit snug, but the decor is beautiful--elegant yet homey. The service was good as well. Overall, we highly recommend L'Artusi for a special night out!

L'Artusi has been on my radar for a while, ever since I heard it was a hot spot and saw reviews of…read moreit being one of the best Italian restaurants in NYC. Being Italian American, I'm hypercritical of spots like these - but nevertheless the positive reviews were overwhelming so I wanted to check it out for myself. One of my friends and I were looking to catch up, so I booked a table and off we went. While it can be tricky to get a reservation during prime dinner time, it's relatively easy to get a lunch reservation - or an early/late dinner. I managed to get a reservation for dinner at 9:15pm which was the earliest I could find. The restaurant is pretty unassuming on the outside - it looks like a converted brownstone and once inside we were greeted by a large space with a sceney vibe. The space is split between two levels with a large bar up front and a semi-open kitchen in the back. The decor was modern - with lots of greys and neutral tones which was a little unexpected. The main star of the menu is pasta, but they also have a few non-pasta mains as well as some crudo selections, apps, and sides. We decided to get a few apps, two pastas, and one side. To start, we went with the octopus, roasted mushrooms, burrata crostone, and focaccia. These were all really good, but my favorite was the mushrooms. I'm usually not a fan of mushrooms but these were prepared with red pepper and fried egg and were delicious; it cut through the earthiness and changed the texture to something I really enjoyed. The focaccia was also a standout - it's house made and was paired with a peppery oil that complemented the bread well. For mains we split two pastas - the caccio e pepe and the rigatoni. Both of these were very good, though I felt the rigatoni was the stronger dish. It was prepared with sausage ragu, soppressata, broccoli rabe pesto, and pecorino. The flavors worked really well together and the pasta was cooked al dente. The caccio e pepe was perfectly fine, I just feel it's been overplayed and didn't feel there was anything that stood out amongst the others I've tried. We also got a broccoli rabe as a side which was great. We couldn't leave without dessert and decided to get their olive oil cake and quattro formaggio cheesecake. The restaurant is known for the former - it was perfectly fine but I've had olive oil cakes elsewhere of the same or better quality. The cheesecake was the stronger dessert IMO - the combination of cheeses gave it an interesting, almost savory flavor. The brûlée top and mascerated strawberries were great texture and flavor complements. Service was great - the place was packed but service was consistently on point and everyone was friendly. Overall, I had a good experience at L'Artusi. While everything was very good, I'm struggling to find the exact reason why this place became such a hot spot compared to other Italian spots in the city. Nevertheless, you'll have a good meal here and I would definitely return if given the opportunity.

The first thing I noticed was there were 7 people in my party and 4 arrived early and did not have to wait for my arrival to be seated. Second the waiter who took our order was polite and on point with specials and knowledge of the menu. He (just never caught his name) suggested the Rigatoni which chicken and sausage. I am not really a pasta eater but baby that dish could change that; it was DELICIOUS. I even liked the anchovy dressing on my Caesar Salad and I dislike anchovies. All the dishes ordered (chicken parm, mussels chicken paillard etc.) everyone enjoyed them immensely. The only negative was when the Chicken Paiikard arrived it was supposed to a shared dish by the elderly couple and they asked for regular dinner plates from one of the servers.
