Please stay away from this Retina doctor! He misdiagnosed my…read morecondition, threw a bunch of laser in my eye, I ended up with a detached retina, and I am now legally blind. I trusted this man over and over when he patronised my husband and I and told us we were "over-reacting " as my eye kept bleeding internally for over 6 months. My surgery was done elsewhere, thank God, but please also know that he does NOT use full anaesthesia for his surgical procedures, and it involves laparoscopic probes being inserted into the back of your eye. This is not standard practice. It is barbaric. His equipment is outdated and I sincerely wish I could have sued him. Please stay away. I now go to NC Retina in Raleigh, very happy there.

HORRIBLE BEDSIDE MANNERS - NO COMPASSION! Is NOT taking this COVID19 pandemic seriously - shame on…read moreyou! I am a retired military/disabled vet and I was referred to Dr. Reddy from my eye doctor at the Veterans Administration hospital in Hampton, VA because I am near blind in my right eye. I had a scheduled 1000 appointment for 30 March 2020. I arrived 30 mins early for my scheduled appt. Upon arrival for my appointment, Dr. Reddy and his two receptionists were in the office area where I was to check-in. Dr. Reddy was also in the same room/area as the two receptionists - at this time I did not know who Dr. Reddy was. There was a patient in front of me who had just put his pen in the cup holding several other pens. Since I am a high-risk patient, I simply asked the receptionist if she had any sterilized pens. She told me I could use the hand sanitizer to sterilize the pens. At that moment Dr. Reddy interveined abruptly and stated, "or you can wear gloves when I come in". I politely explained to the doctor that someone from this office called me on Friday (27 March) to confirm my scheduled appointment and told me NOT to wear gloves because it just makes the spreading of germs worse. At that time Dr. Reddy seemed to become agitated and began speaking in a raised and rude voice/tone, almost chastising"me stating words to the effect "this COVID19 is nonsense of having to continue to wash your hands, etc". I excused myself and asked the doctor why are you raising your voice to me and why are you being RUDE and speaking to me abruptly for?" He then replied harshly to me (again) "I am speaking to my employee." Dr. Reddy then says to me I can sanitize my own pen or if that's not good enough I leave his office. I was stunned. I asked Dr. Reddy if he's a doctor. Dr. Reddy says I'm, a doctor. I then asked are you Dr. Reddy and he said he was. I asked Dr. Reddy again why are you raising your voice and speaking to me in such a manner. I asked him where are your bedside manners? I went on to tell the doctor that my eye doctor from the VA recommended you. Dr. reddy replied, "well I guess your doctor won't refer you to me again". He then said, "to get the hell out of his office." I left his office and I turned around and went back to the office to confirm the receptionists' names because they had witnessed the entire incident. One receptionist refused to provide me her name, stating she doesn't want to get involved. The other receptionist was on the phone and was unable to apeak at that moment.

Maybe I should just be editor of all these businesses! Who keeps entering all these names…read moreincorrectly?? Anyways, this should be correctly named Virginia Beach Eye Center. Although they do do surgeries, they do more than that. There are 2 doctors here both very well known in the area and in the field of ophthalmology. I've had a great experience with them individually, but the biggest negative thing about their practice is the wait. Be prepared to be here for at least an hour and 15 min. They have so many patients packed in that they inevitably fall behind. However, they do spend the time talking to you once it's your turn. Also in the same building is their affiliated optometry center. Instead of an ophthalmologist you can opt to see an optometrist. Then just walk right over to the other counter and get your glasses prescription filled! I often like to come in to get a few candies which they have a big bowl of by the counter. shhhhh

Sent to cornea specialist from same Company and was told need surgery to fix what they did $2700 dollars per eye. So they caused it and now i cannot see nearly as good as before surgery and have to pay to fix what they caused. I suggest going elsewhere.
