    Delicious adobada burrito
    Sarah A.

My husband is love them for their super flavorful Adobada, whether in tacos or burritos, its all good. They use a thinner tortilla for their burrito which I like because it doesn't feel like im eating so much tortilla. They always serve solid tasting food for a good price, so i would definitely encourage trying them if you want to support locals. They do have taco tuesday : $2/taco Burritos are $11

    Carnitas and Al pastor

Decided to have some tacos for lunch and came to Hernandez for the first time. Love that I can order online and it's the same price as in store. We got to try their quesabirria, tacos (asada, carnitas, al pastor, buche) and tamales. Unfortunately, didn't get a buche but instead of another carnitas and then didn't get the chicken tamales but 2 cheese ones. Overall the food is good especially at such affordable prices. I am surprise that the tacos are $2.69. One complaint I have is that I wish the give up more cilantro and onion along with a bigger container of salsa.... It overall pretty good. The birria was on point. The tamales were good especially for $2.50 each of 6 for $12... way better than Costco one lol!

Friendly staff and quick service. I ordered a breakfast burrito over the phone and they serve that all day! Plenty of parking in the lot. Tacos are also very good here.

We got 2 burritos a carnitas and alpastor - they were both really good! The rice is sooo authentic!!! It makes you just want to order a rice and bean burrito - no joke LOL it's sooo good. The ambience is super chill; you're in and out of there within minutes; they had a lot of people when we went but they made the food very quickly:) thank you!!!

Street tacos. Beef. $2.69. Loaded with meat. Get it spicy

Well now that I'm 72 years old it's official.... I've eaten over 1 million tacos. Good and bad. Pretty and ugly. Ridiculously expensive in tourist 5 star resorts and others in Mexico City street shacks that cost pennies. The tacos here are up at the pinnacle of quality, flavor, presentation and satisfaction. Absolutely delicious. The short menu is displayed on the video screen behind the cash register. Order, pay and wait maybe all of 4 minutes for the food. There is one small table with 4 chairs outside on the patio. Nice folks. If I'm even a little hungry when on this end of Cirby ave, it's going to be another mandatory visit even if it's for just one taco. A taste of real Mexico. Salud!

I came across a few reviews of Carniceria Hernandez that piqued my interest, so my wife and I decided to check it out. As soon as we walked in, we could tell this place was exactly what we were looking for--tons of great products, fresh meats, and even some in-house prepared foods that immediately caught our attention. The staff was super friendly, offering to explain the different prepared dishes and even giving us samples. We tried the carnitas and the birria, and both were delicious. I did pass on the menudo since I'm not a fan of tripe, but everything else was spot on. My wife went for a vegetarian burrito, and I opted for the Birria De Res. I have to admit, I totally forgot to snap any pics of the food--next time for sure, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We also picked up a couple of cheese and pepper tamales, which were amazing. Once we got home, we dug in, and everything was just as tasty as we hoped. We're definitely giving this place two thumbs up and wholeheartedly recommend it. If you're in the area, give it a try--you won't be disappointed!

    Super nachos

Came for the chicharrones but it's only available on the weekends. I will definitely be back to try it. Opted for the super nachos instead and it did NOT disappoint.

Delicious and generous portions. Tacos are $2.29. Most popular meats are Carne Asada and Carnitas. Adobada (Al Pastor or marinated pork) is tasty. Other meat choices for today are Pollo (chicken), Tripa (tripe, beef intestine), Buche (pork stomach), and Cabeza (cow's head). Caldo de Res is beef stew that comes with corn tortillas, Spanish rice, cilantro, onions, lime wedges, and your choice of red or milder green salsa. Loved all the beef chunks and rounded flavor of the broth. I bought too much to sample, so I had to tear myself away from this soup to save my appetite. Ask for the Chile Relleno to be in its own bag or soup container, or bring your own sealed container for it. Styrofoam boxes. Here are the Daily Specials: Monday: Chile Relleno and Caldo de Res Tuesday: Chile Verde Pork Closed on Wednesdays Thursday: Empanadas Friday: Shrimp Fajitas Saturday and Sunday: Menudo, Quesabirria, including Goat Breakfast burritos are available all day! Choose between Chorizo or Jamon and Eggs with beans, rice, cheese, or salsa customized to your preference. Store also sells marinated meats, tortillas, snacks, drinks, and some produce. Meat counter offerings looked fresh and appetizing. The owner Maria was very kind, patient, and helpful, explaining menu items to me. She let me sample the marinated pork and even offered to let me sample the beef stew. However, that stew looked so yummy that I knew I wanted to buy it already. She identified and labeled the tacos for me. So sweet. She is fluent in Spanish and English. Closing time is 8 PM weekdays and 7 PM weekends. No dine in. You order everything to go. This unassuming little gem just opened 7 months ago. If you are searching for Bay Area quality tacos, come to Carniceria Hernandez!

For a rainy day, the whole Oakhouse team was in great, kind, friendly spirits and happy to dish up their well-rounded menu. Their mac and cheese had me doing that chewing-while-aggressively-pointing-at the-dish kind of thing and their brisket is the kind that doesn't need to hide behind a sauce and HALLELUJAH for that. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels upscale but not stuffy. There was a pianist playing beautiful classical versions of Top 40 songs from different decades (along with some traditional classical bangers), the live music was a fun and unexpected touch. The hostess was lovely and attentive, even offering to seat us before everyone arrived. The buffet area is absolutely gorgeous. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and clearly cared for. I know better, it's not my first rodeo (legit Gaucha here), Feijao, a pinch of rice, a few leaves of salad, and a micro-dosing of potato salad, than I sat back down for the real experience to begin. Which it did, promptly. Within moments, we were graciously swarmed by servers offering up an incredible variety: bacon wrapped chicken and filet, Picanha, Fraldinha, lamb, pork sausages, Costela (honestly to-die-for), grilled pineapple, and even queijo com mel drizzled on top. Perfeito. I was completely in my element and so was everyone at the table. The service was outstanding. Rafael, David, and the gentleman carving the gold wrapped steak (yup, I said gold). It's been a while since I have been inside Mercado Loco... let's see how they are doing!…read more Tonight, I did not bring enough of my homemade carnitas over to my clients and she was wanting carnita taquitos. So, I pulled into Mercado Loco because their carnitas is delicious! They have a very compact parking lot with a vendor on the sidewalk selling the doritos that you can put your sauce & lime on. I skipped him today and walked through those automatic doors... I know Mercado Loco has been here for decades. I grew up just around the corner and finally walked in about 5 years ago for the first time. Boy, was I missing out! At first, you notice this is a Mexican grocery store that also offers hot lunch/dinners. The price for some of their items are a little high than your typical grocery store... being that some of the items they offer are higher quality. However, sometimes, the prices do not match up when you get to the front. Cilantro had a price of $.69 on display, but I was charged $.75... it was only a tiny difference, but just putting it out there. I went straight to the hot case and a woman with a beautiful smile greeted me in Spanish and asked me what I would like. I ordered a pound of their carnitas. Oh, heck, give me some of those chichorrones, too. Next thing you know, I'm grabbing some of their hot salsa... I think their hot salsa is one of the best, hottest salsas that I have ever had that I can handle! We're talking nose running, but it's so good you can't stop! Next, I grab some king size corn tortillas. Some cilantro... they have wonderful produce available here... as well as those gorgeous purple dragon fruits when the season is right. After my pound is carnitas, pound of chicharonnes, cilantro, tortillas, and salsa... it came out to just a hair above $40! Ouch, but that is what you pay for when you want authentically cooked carnitas and chicharonnes. When I got home, I was a little disappointed that I was given some of the dried out pieces of their carnitas. When I say dry, it was too hard to eat. So I cut those parts off and tossed them (my carnitas blew their out of the water, btw.... just saying, lol.) The chicharon's were hot and miss throughout the entire time we ate them. Super hard, popping you he l can hear in your teeth, in your jaw... but some parts were delicious, succulent, crispy... yum! I love coming here earlier in the day. When I get tacos, they for 99% off the time on point! They are gorgeous and tasty... and get the HOT SALSA!

This place is dirty and filthy. People are careless of the quality just like the owner. He use to have an other location in Rancho Cordova. But the dirty details about their specials and promotions made me sexond doubt buying anything feom there. JOKINGLY i would ask if the meat was good this time. (Its fresh we just got this batch.)
