    Carnitas taco

I work in the area and I have been visiting this place for a few years now, lately, a few times I have been over, the food and service has changed, I used to love the carnitas taco plates from this place and not just that but I have also tried every meet they have and used to be a nice portion in a plastic/foam container well presented, the past few weeks they have change how they do this and now they give you tacos wrapped in paper that comes apart, leaking all over, not even foiled, the portion is significantly less, I get the cost of living is getting more expensive but don't lower your quality if your already have a good clientele that has expectations, If cost is the problem make the prices match the quality and quantity of food you serve. Otherwise the place is nice ambiance is typical of a small restaurant at a shopping center.

Stopped by here after watching the IG videos...plus there's a happy hour that I was curious about. I ordered 2 pounds of cuero and carnitas to go. It comes with lemons, cilantro & onions, and 2 cups of salsa that you choose and serve yourself. The carnitas/cuero mix was delicious...it took me way back to when we'd have parties and my abuelo would make carnitas and cuero in the cazo de cobre. I really really liked the cuero...but i think the mix with carnitas gives it the right texture. Happy hour is beers and micheladas $2.99 and $3.99 no food items and it's available Monday-Thursday all day. I'll definitely be back to try some of the other meats and a michelada

Social Media advertising can definitely lure you in. Some nice videos or neatly setup pictures can entice you. The flash is nice and all but there must be substance behind it. After following Carnitas Uruapan on IG and seeing all the buildup leading up to their Ontario opening, I was hell bent on driving over to Ontario from Fontana just to try their specialty, the carnitas. I mean, can you ever go wrong with carnitas? I drove the 20 something minutes to Ontario, I ordered 2 lbs of carnitas to go along with 2 lbs of rice and 2 lbs of beans. Sadly, the carnitas were a disappointment. They were very bland and lacked flavor, they were definitely not like any carnitas I had ever had before. When I got home I served myself a plate with some carnitas with the rice and beans and even had some of their tortillas. The beans were the best part of that plate. All that to say I would not come here again for carnitas.

    Dry carnitas

The carnitas were dry and tasted boiled, no flavor at all. The salsas are watered down, no flavor, only good thing was the asada burrito, beans, rice. The cueritos were okay, I don't think I would return 15$ for a pound of meat

This place has the best carnitas tacos mixed with cueritos that I've had, the birria is great as well. I feel like im in Mexico... I give this 5 stars as well as 5 thumbs up Este lugar tiene las mejores carnitas mezclados con cueritos para sus tacos, la birria está deliciosa con su consome.. Siento que estoy en mexico

Fat (this is just half of it)

Tried this place for the first time and will not be returning. We ordered a family pack on the website and was given a pick up time. When we arrived they had no idea what we were there to pick up. The order was still sitting on the machine. When we got home and opened up the carnitas we had about a pound of fat we had to pull out. The size of rice and beans for a family of 4 pack was super tiny and had to order more while we were there. The meat was ok tasting but because we couldn't pull out all the fat I kept bitting into pieces of fat. I'd pass on this place unless you like paying $30 for 2 lbs of carnitas with a pound of it being just fat.

15 minute drive to get here and they locked the doors and closed early. Says they are open until 8pm. At 6:45 pm they had already closed.

    Birria de Chivo (goat meat)

I've never been to the actual location but I've gotten several plates brought to me from my in laws. I've tried the birria (goat meat) and carnitas. The birria is soo good. It's hard to find it being made of goat and the taste is just plain delicious. Their brown salsa reminds me of eating at Mexico. Only 4 stars because their carnitas were just alright.

First of all, the decorations are amazing. The first thing that caught our eyes were the hanging lit up butterflies. They really make a statement. Next to them is a tree covered in Christmas lights, and next to that is a lit up aquarium looking thing. Even when I went to the restroom, I noticed that the cement floor had sparkly gold specks and something that looked like the Milky Way. As a vegetarian, I was so happy that the menu had leaf symbols so that I could quickly tell which items I could ask for without meat. The food came out fast. It felt like we had barely ordered them and the waitresses were suddenly coming out with them. The portions were huge, like my sister ordered the grande nachos and it really was grand. It looked like an appetizer that was meant to be shared with a group of people. The food tasted good. I enjoyed my meal so much that as big as it was, I devoured the majority of it and only stopped because I was too full. Towards the end, one of the employees asked if he could take away my plate and even though I knew he wasn't our waitress and it probably wasn't his job, I asked him for boxes instead. When our waitress came to our table to ask if I wanted boxes, the other employee at that moment handed us the boxes. I thought it was nice that the other employee did that for us even though he probably wasn't expected to. Overall, we had a great experience here.

Not sure why it can be labeled that. Whole beans, white rice, Poblano sauce are. Always best to ask! I had a wonderful server that double checked for me and made sure I knew that when I shared I can't have meat product in anything. Thank you so much!! It's a beautiful restaurant and food quality was great. But the menu truly needs to have transparency and accurate labeling.

I went with the al pastor, and it was excellent. The pork had that perfect balance -- juicy with crispy edges, seasoned beautifully, and just enough sweet pineapple to make it sing. The salsa is actually hot. They packed that burrito with more meat than a gym bro's meal prep Sunday. I genuinely paused mid-bite out of respect. Price felt totally reasonable for the portion and quality. If you're cruising by on the freeway or in the neighborhood and want well seasoned, authentic tacos, this is absolutely worth the stop.
