The carnitas were really tasty -- tender, well-seasoned, and nicely crisped in spots. Flavor and portion size were solid. Service, unfortunately, didn't match the food. Orders took longer than expected, and the staff seemed distracted and a bit curt. I get that everyone can have an off day, and the guy passing the food looked like he might've been having one, but it still affected the experience. Honestly didn't know what to expect. And thats really with any place. But as soon as you pull into the parking lot you can see this place already looks legit. It has the vibe of a legit taco spot. But they're more than just a taco spot. And once you taste the carnitas all doubt you'llsee what I mean. The staff is very friendly here. And the carnitas here are perfection. No big pieces of fat. Ok guys I'm about to put you on to one of my favorite place / an amazing carnitas spot you'll ever find. Me and my family have been coming to this spot for a couple years now but never actual did a review and it's time. The taste of the food comes first, you'll be craving this on a weekend after cleaning the house or on a random Tuesday. The taste is so authentic and rich it just does it for me. It was a Saturday when I came in and it was fairly busy but was super easy to order. They have combo if you want to get it with tortillas, pico, and salsa. If you want the meats just by the pound they also do that and you could just get sides for additional. We usually do tortillas by hand at home so I didn't do the combo this time. I ordered 2 pounds de buche and 2 pounds of carnitas. Salsa came on the side for that and just added a pico. The person taking my order was super nice. The workers are very genuine and know what they're doing. If you come in on a weekend they have menudo which is very popular and usually runs out. Parking is very easy to find if not you could always park on the street. Inside vibes are absolutely great for me with good music, they sell alcohol if you want to buy some, and serve some pretty amazing food opinions. It was fair. I was hoping the meat would be juicier, but it wasn't dry either. It could have used a little more flavor. It's chopped, so no big chunks of toasty carnitas like I like. The rice, beans and salsa were good. I think it would have tasted better with green salsa but they gave us red salsa. That red salsa would probably taste good with chips. I came here recently with my family hoping to have a tasty carnitas lunch. There is plenty of parking out front, indoor seating and a bathroom. The person at the counter was friendly and answered our questions. The restaurant was empty when we arrived but we decided to give it a chance. My husband ordered a carnitas taco, my daughter and I both ordered carnitas tortas and a Jamaica agua fresca. We got our food pretty quickly after we ordered. That was the good news. Bad news... my daughter and I couldn't eat our food because the tops of the torta bread was very moldy like green spots not quite science experiment but still moldy. I gave the tortas back and we got a refund. The person behind the counter offered to make us something else but tbh we lost our appetite after seeing the moldy bread also didn't want to take a chance on something else. Maybe it was a bad day but I am not sure I will be coming back. This place has perfected the carnitas. They only serve carnitas and it doesn't disappoint. The tacos already have a kick to it so adding the salsa is at your discretion. WOW. I was searching for the best carnitas in Orange County and this place came up as one of the highest reviewed. Now I know why. I arrived on a Friday evening about 30-minutes before closing (they close at 7 PM). Usually for places like this they can sometimes run out of meat -- but not here. I ordered a "mixto" taco ($3 after tax), which is a mix of all different kinds of carnitas meats (stomach, ribs, skin, etc.). So, so good. The variety of cuts was so juicy and tender. Not too much fat and grease. Very soft and flavorful. The tortillas really took it to the next level. I am not sure if they are made in-house, but the taco came with two yellow corn tortillas which were warm and fluffy. The pico de gallo on top is a nice touch. I'll definitely be back to try the carnitas plate ($9) and more tacos! Plenty of parking as they have their own lot. They also accept credit card. One of my favorite spot for carnitas and they sell it by the pound. The portions are large and the prices are decent.
