Omg I love this place so much I could literally eat here everyday. We got the combo c which feeds 3-4 and it was about $180. Meat is so tender and delicious, and every single side dish is amazing. I was so excited to keep eating the pancake but apparently that is the only side that is not free refill :( The egg is the fluffiest steamed egg I've ever seen and the japchae is addicting. We also got the beef tartar and cold noodles. The tartar wrapped in perilla leaf has a sharpness to it and the sweet pear(or apple?) helps with the richness of the beef. I could eat the cold noodles forever, so easy to eat and refreshing.

My all time favorite non ayce kbbq! The customer service is great and they are attentive and they cook so you can enjoy the meal. It's nice going here and seeing people enjoying the food and seeing what items you can order if you have never been here. We always get the non marinated combo which is brisket, boneless short rib, rib eye steak, bone in short rib, steamed egg, tofu soup and banchan. Literally everything is so good and made fresh. Meat had nice marbling and is tender. The cold noodles are also really good and you can do a small portion to enjoy with the meat. I love every banchan that comes out and love all the workers who are so kind and helpful! Can't wait to go back again!

Umm so I just found out about this place even though I've been living in Orange County for what seems like forever. LOL. Parking here can get tricky but luckily, there are some residential areas and a lot across the street for the overflow. The place gets pretty crowded but luckily, we got there before the lunch crowd took over. The inside is a bit dated but I didn't mind as long as the food slaps, and it definitely did. My friends and I ordered the prime non marinated kBBQ combo for two people. Even though there were three of us, it was still a good amount of food for us plus we ordered the naengmyun too both the spicy and non-spicy. My favorite is the brisket, that's always been my go to meat. The short ribs were also very tender and delicious. Actually, everything was pretty damn good but the brisket stood out the most for me. They are generous with their banchans and service was excellent. I really prefer having the workers cook the meat for us so that my friends and I can spend time talking instead of cooking.

Come at opening, we waited around 10'. We ordered the non-marinated beef combo ( with a soup and egg soup). The waitress cooked our food for us, excellent banchan, flavor soup, quality beef. Parking is a bit challenging if they are busy, small parking lot (even with the overflow). Clean restaurant, fast service.

Really hard to go wrong with Korean Bbq in Garden Grove! This place was no exception. Old school Korean BBQ joint! Wait staff cook your meat in front of you which usually means the quality of the meat is good! ,(and so you dont mess it up!l Respectable selection of meats but stand outs were boneless short ribs and the pork jowl and pork collar! Standard fare items like the seafood pancake amd soft tofu soup were also delicious. Our servers were really good at keeping up with meat cooking and kept the banchan flowing! We came here twice during a recent visit to Disneyland in neighboring Anaheim!

Mmmm old school way better quality than ayce. Reminds me of old school kbbq that defined the kbbq standard. Was just passing through the area and found this spot. We aren't ayce ppl so this was just right. The naengmyun was good. Service was great- they cooked everything perfectly and spoke Korean and English. It was just a perfectly pleasant experiences and a bit of going back in time. Would def come back.

Heard so many good things about this restaurant so we decided to give this place a try! We went on kind of a rainy day and fortunately, the wait was not long! We ordered their beef combo and got their spicy cold noodles. They served a good variety of side dishes and the quality of the meats were decent! Didn't have the wow factor. The spicy noodles were really good! Overall Mo Ram Gak is a good place to get your Korean bbq fix! Service was great and we liked how the place was clean. We did feel like we were kind of rushed eating and getting out but it was fine

Every time I come here there's always a line out the door so you know it's good. I visit pretty often for their mul naengmyeon and I love that it comes with a smaller portion of bibim naengmyeon on the side. The mul naengmyeon is easily my favorite. The broth is icy, slushy, and packed with flavor, while the noodles have the perfect chewy and bouncy texture. My only complaint is that I wish it came with a little more meat. I've tried cold noodles at a lot of places but this is still my favorite spot for naengmyeon. The side dishes are always delicious too, especially the mung bean pancakes. The service is quick, straightforward, and efficient, even when the restaurant is busy. The ambiance is a bit dated but that's easy to overlook when the food is this good.

One of the best places for naengmyeon. We love this spot for their water noodles and for gogi combos. The broth is full, rich, and tangy. If you want you can add more vinegar or mustard for more flavor. This spot has been the go to for many years. We only have discovered it seven years ago. The service is good and they are very friendly. The good part and bonus is if you buy a naengmyeon either water or bibim. You get a tasting of the other, the tasting size which is more than a tasting. So the amount of food you get is substantial. The bbq is good not the best but good for combos. Tip: go at odd times or non peak, because it gets very/crazy busy where you're waiting for over an hour. The space is good and there are some great seats inside. Outside is ok, but not for hot summer days. Enjoy!

Great quality kbbq with an impressive banchan spread and delicious famous cold noodles! Parking was tough during a busy Friday night, be prepared to find street parking or safe lot. Wait wasn't too bad, about 30 min for a table on Friday night. It was a medium sized place with a cozy vibe. We went with a combo A and a small bowl of spicy cold noodles. It came with a very delicious spread of banchan, with the potato cake being the standout for me. Combo A came with brisket and pork belly and both tasted great and was cooked perfectly by the staff. They both went well with their sauces and salt. We were also very impressed by the cold noodles which offer a very refreshing bite that was sweet, spicy, and a bit of acidity. Overall great spot for kbbq and their signature cold noodles. Staff were friendly and cooked food for you perfectly. I'd add this spot for nice summer kbbq or cold noodles.

LOVED the cold noodles here!! It was super refreshing and flavorful and the noodles were the perfect bouncy texture. The galbi was also super tender and the tofu soup had such a deep seafood flavor. There is a huge selection of delicious banchan, with the mung bean pancake, mushrooms, and beef being my favorites. They give free refills on most the banchan btw! The restaurant itself is super lively and you can tell that it is an authentic Korean place. Our server was also so sweet! She gave us a free spicy cold noodle on the house after she watched us debate between which cold noodle to get. Would love to try the bbq next time and would 100% come back!

Quite possibly the best Korean restaurant in OC! It gets BUSY here. We came on yesterday (Sunday) around 5, and there was still a wait. One good thing I found out yesterday is that you can get on the waitlist via Yelp while you are on your way (thank you Yelp!) The food is always worth the wait! They have some of the best Korean bbq, but yesterday we went for the cold noodles (naengmyun). It was SO good! They even give you extra noodles for free, and you can choose whichever cold noodle you would like. We ordered Galbi (Korean bbq) with our noodles, and they were excellent. Service was wonderful yesterday as well. They have a signature Korean pancake that comes with the meals, but since they were so busy ours did not come out in time. Our waitress insisted we take ours home, and packed it for us. Highly recommend for those looking for good Korean bbq or cold noodles in Orange County. They have other choices as well, such as soups, stews and more. Just check in with Yelp ahead of time to avoid waiting longer than needed. And most importantly, enjoy!

A little disappointed. We waited for over half an hour for a table. We had a party of 8. My brother had to catch a flight back home so, we came here around 4:45 pm. We tried to beat the crowd, after half hour, I asked for two small tables and can sit separately. This is another Korean bbq where the staff manages the grill. The meat was mediocre and our server was not as friendly. This place definitely wants you in and out. Most likely won't be coming back here but their cold noodles were the best I've had. If you love cold noodles, I would recommend this place.

This place is marked as having outdoor seating. Is it still available this year?

    Yes

Can you call and make reservations ahead of time?

Only if you have a large party. If I can remember correctly, I think a party larger than 9. Otherwise, they now offer an option where you can request to be on a waiting list via Yelp, if you're about 1-2 miles away from the restaurant. As a note,… Read more

Last time I came they dont have the raw beef (yukhoe)? Do they get rid of it for good or they have it now?

They always had it when I've went. We order it every time we go. Maybe it was just that day they were out...?

Do you still have outdoor dining?

The last time I was there, the outdoor dining was under a tent, adjacent to the parking lot and restaurant building.

Hello do u have all u can eat today and how much per person thank you?

No they do not have an all you can eat. Meats, soups, noodles, etc are ordered off the menu, ala carte.

Do they have a lunch menu or is it the same as the dinner menu?

Are you guys open today 25th? If so are we able to make a reservation?

Yes we are open! I’m sorry we do not take any reservations anymore. We are now doing first come first serve basis. Thank you!

Are they open on Christmas day?

    Yes, only closes every Mondays!

    Do they offer takeout?

    Yes they do!

Do they still have outdoor seating where we can sit with our dog?

    Yes they do

Is it all you can eat?

    No, it's by portion

Are dogs allowed for outdoor dining?

Yes! Pets are welcome for outdoor seating

Can you order the marinated meat combos for takeout raw? I wanted to have bbq night at home but mo ran gak has the best meat!!

Thank you! Yes! You can take any of the combos or a la carte raw! It includes all the sides, rice paper, rice, sauce and salad

Do they still give the sipping broth?

    Yes

Is indoor dining open and are they grilling at the tables yet? Last time I went (last month) we were still sitting under tents and they were just bringing food to the table.

Yes indoor opened and feel safe and yea grill at table!!! Go early and sign up before restaurant opens and limited parking!

Bad timing for lunch, too many people were waiting in line, dining inside. We waited for 20 mins at Daiso, another 20 mins outside restaurant. First, the service was awful. Nobody paid attention to us to bring us some iced water, forks, and extra noodles. Normally the servers asked us to refill the noodles, or served fast but today was disaster for us. Other people came later than us but the server served them iced water and took their orders not ours. What happened to us today? We sat at the tiny table in the corner and we barely moved to eat our foods, we ordered 3 items which were 2 beef belly phos and fried rice w shrimps. There was not any rooms available for all the foods including pho toppings, sauces, and other entree. We were not comfortable at all. And also, my wife and I couldn't eat the fried rice w shrimps. How can we eat w chopsticks or deep scoop shaped soup spoon? How hard is everything today? We tried to call the server for 2 forks but no one paid attention. Wow...wow.... I felt bad feeling about this restaurant for the first time. The service, attention, everything was not normal. Waiting time was 15 to 20 mins but we had to wait for 40 mins. Barely sat soooo tiny table. My wife got really upset at the service. She got an email about the lunch special, beef belly pho Mon to Fri 2 days ago. That is why we decided to go to eat today. Now that I've tried the food, felt the service, and enjoyed our meal, I can see why it has a line and a high star rating! The service: super friends and accommodating! The place itself is a small/medium size with lots of tables for seating multiple small/medium sizes of parties. We were a party of 5 (4 adults, one baby/toddler with a high chair). I loved how they accommodated my child with their children's menu in addition to providing us with scissors to cut up noodles. Upon stating our allergies, they helped us with food suggestions and limitations. It's honestly the little things that go above and beyond, as well as their friendly service. They weren't overtly checking up on us, and had just the right amount of interaction and help. Food: 3 of us got the beef belly pho and one got the beef rib, my son got a kids mean. Upon receiving our bowls you'd think by looking at the clarity of the broth that it wouldn't be super flavorful, but it absolutely was. It's not overpowering, but the right amount of savory with a hint of sweetness from the added o green onions. Each pho came with the garnishes of basil, lime, and bean sprouts as normal. We did have to ask for small side plates For those who wanted hoisin and sriracha on the side, but not a big deal and quick to get. I'm also a huge fan of the lychee lemonade at vox, which they had here. Not refillable, but still loved it! My son got their chicken nuggets with fries since the pho broth had some sesame oil which he's allergic to, but he loved it. It came in the cutest kid "happy meal" type of box and we used the scissors given to cut the nuggets and a few "washed" noodles. Overall, would love to come again for a great bowl of pho if the wait isn't too long!

So good and so affordable. Each dish was around $15-18. They have 2 locations but I think this one…read morespecializes in their egg noodles. We got: Taiwanese soup noodle (5/5): new on the wall and wanted to try. Lots of good beef pieces in the soup, and not too heavy on the spice. Came with a vinegar dipping sauce Dry noodle combinations (5/5): we basically tried all of them. Perfect Al dente egg noodles with a clean broth on the side. Mine came with intestine, others had a fried chicken or dumplings which was really good and meaty. I like how all combos came with a sauce to accompany it Oxtail noodle soup (5/5): slightly spicy, very satisfying. Tender oxtail Overall so good and will be coming back! Also want to try the #2 location down the street

I'm not sure why I had this place bookmarked. Maybe it was an Instagram or TikTok…read more I would say the food was pretty good. My granddaughter and I ordered oxtail pho & chicken wings. The chicken wings were phenomenal. We got all flats, which I'm not sure if they normally serve it like that. They were crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside and just enough seasoning. The broth was super tasty. The oxtail cooked well. The noodles were in my opinion too soft. That's fine, my granddaughter likes him a little soft. The service was service, not bad or good. It was a small place, felt a little chaotic. Would I go back, if I was in the area probably.

Long time diner, first time reviewer…read more I've always loved Grandpa's Kitchen, maybe because of the sweet name that makes me think of my own grandpa. They have one of the best egg noodle soups around. The broth is perfectly balanced and well seasoned, the egg noodle is well made, with generous toppings. The dry version of the egg noodle is equally delicious. You can't go wrong with either selection. I'm always surprised at their affordable prices. These days you can't really get a good bowl of noodle soup for under $18-$20. Here you can get a solid bowl for just $8 during happy hour! Whaaat?! Crazy! That is such a great price that I almost feel like I'm robbing them. LOL. During this recent visit, I wasn't too hungry so I just got a small bowl of wonton soup for just $7. It comes with 5 pieces of wontons. The only disappointing thing was that it doesn't come with one of my favorite toppings - tóc mỡ. It would've cost $2 to add it. I really wish they did include it. I also got some grilled pork skewers. Though a little soft, they were pretty delicious - nicely seasoned, flavorful, and make a great appetizer. I also love that they're open late - till 11PM!

Big portion!! Grandpapi is here for you in this economy!! Has a couple of bigger tables (4 seater)…read moreif you want to come here with family, quite chill, 3% surcharge on credit card, decent plaza parking. Service chill, can pay at register in the front, like typical viet restaraunt where they kinda leave you to it. The Grandpa's noodles was good (a dryer noodle), great portion, meat was tender, the radish cube looking things was crispy bits of pork skin. The menu is unique here and mostly in vietnamese. I think I had wished for some sauce to go with the noodles (but I understand its mostly with the soup on the side), good tightness of the meatballs :D... They have the classic condiments on the side, the pickled garlic isn't very crunchy and kind of on the sweet side, the pickled chili does have that slight acidic kick that works well. I modified my noodle to egg for a dollar. The soup was good, on the more umami soy/beef side than clear. The wontons were abundant too, instead of a chili oil the sauce is more like a tangy sweet chili vinegrette thing. My accompaniment got a garlic noodle soup (fried garlic oil) that was rich and also in a huge bowl. For the price and portion its a hidden gem for someone who needs to feed a family. Not like gourmet, but good enough! Omg, also I missed the corn milk :((
