First time here. Tiny place basically a little hole in the wall. We've been seeing this place when we go get tamales next door. We finally tried it yesterday for taco Tuesday. Have family here from out of town so we said why not let see if it's good. We ordered 60 variety of tacos, some carnitas, chicken, pastor and asada, all had plenty meat were very tasty. It's simply in the name. These carnitas are the second closest to the taste of my Dad's Carnitas. The meat super tender. I ordered a carnitas torta, three tacos (carnitas, asada, and pastor), and the orange jugo naturale. Everything was amazing! You can see and taste the difference in their homemade tortillas. They take the tacos to a new level. It's a small family-owned restaurant, and the owner is very friendly. If this place wasn't so far from home, I'd be here all the time. I got the Chilaquiles And Carnitas Burrito !! My wife got it for me ( take out) omg when I Grabbed it, it was HUGE ,bigger than my head !! Came across the hidden gem located in a small strip mall. If I had to guess the top dog spot in the mall is the Pacoima burger legend spot "Key Burger". But don't sleep on this spot! Don Cuco has some of the best food in the area! The food is always fresh and the portion sizes are HUGE! The burritos especially the chilaquiles one is my fave. The price incredible $44.00 the food even better and can understand why the have 5 Stars!!! Man those Carnitas were crisp but moist, tortillas were hot thick and delicious, beans had tons of flavor and the rice was delicious too... I went on Taco Tuesday when the tacos were supposed to be $1. Well when i looked at my receipt i was charged for $2 a taco plus surcharge. It's definitely misleading. 4 tacos and agua for $15 is a little high. Since it was Taco Tuesday, we decided to come to Carnitas Don Cuco. We were not disappointed. The food is AMAZING. We ordered carne asada and the famous carnitas tacos. They were out of this world. The carne asada had so much flavor that I didn't have to add any salt ( I'm a salt lover). It was tender as well, not chewy at all. But I must say, the carnitas was to die for. It had was tender and had soooooo much flavor. It was cooked to perfection. If we could have, we would have ordered more (we ordered 6 tacos). The green and red salsas were very delicious and complimented the carne asada and carnitas even more. Make sure to order the tacos with handmade corn tortillas. You won't be disappointed.
