Mexican plate minus the chile relleno-meh!
    jessie a.

There's no doubt that the Zaragoza location has the better chefs. The same plates here aren't as good as the other locations. I made a reservation for 8 and the tables weren't ready on arrival even though the place was pretty dead. There were only 2 other couples and us during lunch. Our waiter had to be hounded to refill our drinks. The chips were stale and the salsas flavorless. I ordered the desebrada tacos and they were ok. Nothing special there. I tried the enchilada off a friend's plate and it tasted like canned chile colorado. My other friend ordered the chicken tampiqueña and it was a huge breast but sadly it was dryey. I tried a bite of the 3 leches cake and even it was dry. . Very unimpressed with this location. Will not be returning.

It was a good stop. The food was good, we went for a brunch moment. My husband loved his soup. My tacos were good! The service was good. The ambiance is nice, the decor is really pretty.

The restaurant itself looks great and staff was friendly. However, service was SLOW, the Jalapeño margarita looked like a smoothie and tasted way off. My husband ordered a bottle of beer, it was brought in a can, the water tasted weird and the chips were too thick and greasy (in my opinion). I ordered a michelada instead with XX Lager, I think she brought me a Radler instead (lemonade and beer). This was all before the food y'all . So I ordered guacamole and the queso fondido with sirloin to be safe. Husband ordered the chicken fajitas.... I don't even need to wait for the food to come to know that I'm never coming back here ‍ Update, food was overpriced and salty. Tortillas were on point though!!! It's gonna be a no for me

They don't do curbside which is messed up for those taking COVID seriously Also, got home after picking up my food and they left out the trimmings So no onion no cilantro none of the stuff that makes the meal complete I was also amazed at how badly the pack the tacos They set them up so you can't pick them up without spilling the meat. I do not recommend this place. Hopefully, they will get their stuff together.

This is a nice restaurant. Nice ambiance. Nice modern facility. Service is always the best. But how can a mexican food restaurant not have perfected their Mexican food. Don't these Mexicans taste their own food??? Beans and rice are a staple in Mexican food. Their charro beans were so salty. And the rice so generic. Put some peas in the rice. Use some tomato sauce to make them moist. I don't know...but do something. I've had better rice at Taco Cabana! My girlfriends Caldo de res was really tasty. But do NOT order the tacos de Papa. They don't salt the potato and the taco shell reminded me of Old El Paso brand taco shells. I know..it's a crazy thing to order. Who would order a taco filled w potato?? But it's such a basic dish that they should be able to make it like grandma used to make. I just can't understand how a chef doesn't use salt. I will say this: this place serves the coldest beer in town!

Delicious restaurant! I am so excited that this location opened up so close to my home. Primarily, the restaurant is gorgeous, both interior and exteriorly. The interior is ample with a large bar and seating area. Staff was very accommodating and our server was fantastic! He was very amiable and provided fantastic service. As for the food, the food was delicious! We started with an appetizer of chori-queso, which was to die for! I am a huge lover of chorizo. The combination was perfect, the cheese was cheesy, and the homemade tortillas that accompanied the cheese made a great combination! My husband and I also had some of their alcoholic beverages, their mango margarita was delicious! A little too large for me but regardless, it was tasty. I ordered their shrimp cocktail- Highly recommend! Very, very good! My husband had their suiza enchiladas-also very good. The restaurant does stick to their motto, of cooking homemade Mexican food. Being from San Antonio, this Mexican food wad delicious by far the best I've had. Overall, I love this restaurant! Beautiful décor inside and outside, drinks are delicious and large! Staff is great and food is to die for. Definitely will be returning here, I highly recommend this restaurant! So glad it's so close to home!

    Fajitas with no skillet... -.-

This prob one of my worse restaurants! We been here several times and almost always have trouble, something bothers out stomach so bad! At first, we thought oh, it's prob not the restaurant, just us. But no! Horrible!! And the fajitas! They have the sharable, $26! So not worth the price! No skillet, just on the plate, the food was even hot! And soooooo greasyyyyy! The meats and the vegetables alike! It's like you eat fat! The chips were the same way! You're a Mexican restaurant and can't even do Mexican right?! My one star is for the interior decor, looks nice..

    Beautiful entrance!

Terrible food. Great drinks and service. Sorry, but I will not go back. Better places in town for Mexican food like KIKI's downtown.

I had the pot roast with salad, and had bread pudding for dessert. My dining partners had a chili bowl with corn muffin, a Denver omelette with hash browns and corned beef hash with potatoes, scrambled eggs and added a waffle, because WAFFLES!! Oh and they split a chocolate cream pie. So my salad was amazing, forgot to take a pic. The ranch dressing here is really good. Ripe to and crisp romaine. And nice cucumbers. My pot roast was so tender it was simply falling apart, the veggies under were nice. The gravy was yummy, I had to ask for some extra. The green beans were simply amazing here. And they had corn on the cob!!! Bi-colored, sweet, tender-crisp when you took a bite! SO GOOD. My dining partners liked their food, the Denver omelette was a picture to look at and huge. The only real complaint there was the has was just too dry. It was just shredded corned beef and small cubed potatoes. It needed something to bring it all together, she said. She didn't finish it. The 3 of them split a chocolate cream pie. It looked very nice but when cutting into it, to share slices, that was impossible, it was not set inside, it was very runny. Perhaps the waiter grabbed one that had just been made and not one that had chilled long enough, but they ate it with spoons and loved the flavor. My bread pudding was spectacular. I love Bread Pudding anyway, but this was very very good but the third bite in, it was cold, not just refrigerator cold but super cold. So I called the waiter back over and asked him to please reheat it because it was like near frozen in the middle. Which he happily did and also added some fresh whipped cream for me. So a couple of miscues with the desserts but all in all a nice birthday celebration. MAGGIE, I know you wanted me to email you, on my previous review, HOWEVER, your email address you gave bounced back as undeliverable or not an email address on several email options I have. Just to let you know, I tried. I was going to just come talk to you in person, but today was not the day to do that sort of thing. Could you check and see if your email address is correct? Thank you! Love the BBD! Will be back again.

The food was a nice change of pace from traditional El Paso foods. Soul food eggrolls: it was like a big spoonful of granny's Sunday meal without overeating. I'd never put greens, Mac n cheese, and chicken together but somehow it worked. Understandably, it wasn't seasoned like granny's to appease the masses, but the sauce on the side elevated the taste. TVs are located throughout, from various table angles. Our server Alex will receive 5/5 stars for his kindness, attentiveness and attention to not only our table but his very full and frequently sat section. However, when reaching out to other staff members for assistance in his absence, there were some things that fell through the cracks. Missing silverware, condiments not being present, and at times things going forgotten or unnoticed when requested. The appetizer (pictured) Philly Egg-rolls, were the best food option we received for brunch that afternoon. It was shareable between 3 adults and filling before the entrees arrived. I wouldn't order the Monte Cristo Sandwhich again, very large, dry and just didn't pair well with the potatoes and the jam offered (pictured). We did have to switch out drinks due to her taste and upkeep up the beverages. The sweet tea originally ordered did not taste well but received new drinks upon request: Mango and Strawberry lemonade. This is a family friendly place, busy, but I would give it another chance.

They have that authentic hole in the wall taste everyone wants, with the appeal, cleanliness and service of a well kept and professional chain. Yay! I've come here twice so far. Once for dinner and the other for breakfast. For dinner we took our food to-go and ordered a fish taco, shrimp taco and California burritos for the rest of the family. All was good, but I have to admit that I've had better fish tacos and wouldn't order that again. Still good tho! The burritos were great. In fact, our next visit was for breakfast burritos and they were so good and filling I couldn't even finish mine! Worth the price for sure. I ordered bacon, egg and cheese and the bacon wasn't fatty at all, and they didn't skimp on any of the ingredients. My husband ordered the country burrito which contained eggs, potatoes and cheese. He added steak and that hit the spot! We dined in and the staff were very friendly and courteous. They even brought our food to our table when we could have easily walked up to the counter to pick it up.
