I'm a huge fan of carnitas & found this spot on yelp. The service was okay, there's a window to order & another to pay. They weren't super welcoming but they were at least nice. I got a pound & asked for lemons & salsa on the side. The charged me .75 for a small salsa & $1 for lemons. I feel like these should be complimentary. Other than that, the food was good. Carnitas tasted fresh! I paid $14 for a pound & another $2 for extras.

Took a chance, and so glad I did. They were open, I ordered my favorite chicken and mole plate. Was not disappointed. Small secluded place, but the food was deeeeeelicious! And, oh! The tortillas were yummy too. Authentic food. Good food. I'm old town, Corona.

Lovely chuletas in a semi spicy verde sauce. Awesome flavor. So good I stole some for my equally awesome carnitas.

You cannot go wrong here. The name exemplifies what you should order here. Carnitas. Unless you also happen to love pork chuletas. In which case, I say, order both. This place has been in existence for quite some time. I just failed to discover it until I found my Yelp friend, Rose, had beat me to the punch. I was suffering from a severe case of overMexicanfooditis and was temporarily blinded. The carnitas was incredibly tender and moist, with just the right amount of fat to make it slide easily down my throat. Tasty stuff and done so right. The chuletas, pork ribs simmered in a verde sauce, were a cut above as well. The sauce was so flavorful, I was coveting it from afar. After a respectable amount of time, I convinced him to let me spoon his sauce over my carnitas, which I already loved, and I discovered I was definitely. in. love. with. this. place. So there you have it. Another small Mexican cafe in a town already inundated with fast food Mexican food. But this one rises to the top, deserves to be noticed, if only for those two dishes. And the beans aren't bad either.

Always a popular spot at the GWC swap meet, decided to give it a go. Ordered 3 carnitas tacos and a carnitas quesadilla. The tacos were super dried out. Tough, chewy, and tasteless. They came with no salsa. Got some salsa and it tasted like crushed tomatoes with zero spice. Found 3 bone chips in my tacos. Not very appetizing. Super disappointing. Perhaps the street tacos next time but the carnitas are

They also had festive decor up for the World Cup, which was playing on the TVs and added a great energy to the room. The service was awesome! Our server was incredibly friendly and spoke to us like we'd been friends for years. She was so cool. We ended up staying for hours just enjoying the vibe of the brunch crowd and the soccer fans. Food & Drinks: LOVED! The Mimosa Flight (~$9 per drink): We shared this between two people and it comes with 8 different flavors! It included peach, pineapple, strawberry, cranberry, orange, pomegranate, and I think mango (can't remember the last one, sorry!). I love that the glasses were actually filled. I watched them make them, and it's a majority of champagne with just a splash of juice. Chilaquiles: This has become my absolute favorite breakfast dish lately, so I try it everywhere. It was very yummy here! It comes with eggs, and I added steak for some extra protein. The presentation was beautiful, too. Highly recommend! Steak & Eggs: My friend ordered a dish that had a different name on the menu, but it was essentially steak and eggs. She said it was absolutely delicious. The bathroom was clean, and I noticed they have a changing table available as well, which is always a great plus. Overall, I had a really good time eating, drinking, and talking here. I will definitely be back!

It's always clean and well taken care of inside as well. Let's get to the food. My favorite here is the Al pastor. Seasoned and marinated to perfection. It's by far some of the best I've had in Cali. Never under or overcooked. It's just right! Asada. Again, marinated to perfection. Perfectly cooked. Never over cooked. The flavor is there. They've got a great salsa bar. Onion & cilantro Red and green salsa ( red is the best here ) Plenty of lemons They've even got grilled onions and jalapeños at the salsa bar. Overall would I recommend this place? Absolutely. I ordered in advance and went to pick up my food, but since I was starving, I ended up just eating there on their patio. The tacos were okay. Personally, I thought they were pretty mid and not as flavorful as I was hoping they'd be. They did have a spicy sauce that I dipped the tacos in, and that definitely helped the flavor. I personally didn't love the tacos, but to be fair, I also didn't try anything else on the menu so I can't speak for the rest of their food. The place itself is a decent size, and the patio area is actually pretty nice. The staff was very kind, my order was ready right on time, and I appreciated that they weren't stingy with the sauces. The chips are fresh, super thin and crisp, lightly salted. The salsa one of my favorites. I don't know why others cannot make them the same. I can see a plate of impeccable nachos in my future here. Camarones, Mojo de Ajo style, no head, no shell. The shrimp were nice sized, but obviously overcooked. Mr B said that a couple even tasted old as well. Too bad. On the other hand, the sides, beans and rice, were sensational. Done beautifully, with very rich flavors, I would come here just for those two items. My garlic shrimp burrito was filled with smaller sized shrimp than his, their awesome rice, some fresh salsa, and a pink dressing (?). The shrimp tasted fine, not overcooked, but not overly garlicky. And usually I dislike rice in my burritos, but this combination was an exception, a real winner. I recall having an amazing carnitas here on past visits that I really must revisit. Hmmm. This is beginning to sound like a carnitas nacho plate would be the right thing to do. The interior is very attractive with their colorful and vibrant murals. Great World Cup soccer playing on their TV. The server was absolutely attentive. A good little place worth s return visit.

Check my picture for the information. I ended up getting the 3 taco plate (2 asada and 1 carnitas) and the XL meat quesadilla with asada. The carnitas was really tender and delicious. The asada was good, but it was not my favorite. I have a thing with chewy fatty pieces and I understand it is common in lower quality cuts of flap meat. This asada had quite a few pieces I had to spit out because it was just too chewy. The refried beans were good, also not my favorite though. The quesadilla was good, I liked the grilled cheese cooked prior to folding it into the tortilla with the meat. Nice touch. That grilled cheese makes a huge difference. The next 3 taco plate had pastor, asada, and shrimp (except they actually gave me fish instead). At least my girlfriend enjoyed the fish taco as well. The tacos were loaded with meat and hard to pick up. That's the best! The pastor was tender and juicy. The fish taco was freshly fried and loaded with toppings and sauce. After paying, I asked for salsa and onions/cilantro cups so I could grab it from the salsa bar before leaving, but the lady turned around and grabbed me prepackaged salsa of each kind, bagged onion and cilantro, and limes. Super nice! Salsa were all really good! Especially the green avocado salsa. I'll come back for carnitas when I'm in the mood for tacos/quesadillas. I'll probably avoid the asada though.
