This is the only Mexican restaurant in all of corona that serves the best Mexican food. I used to order food to go at Miguel's and Luna Mexican restaurants in corona but their food is nothing compared to Tacos y Mariscos on 6th street. They have really good BOMB Mexican salsa. This place is always clean even the owner is always wiping down everything with sanitizer cleaning spray every time while I wait for my food. They all wear mask and handle my food with care. Mexican restaurants in Corona are like Starbucks. One on every corner. Tough competition. This location, close and convenient for us, unfortunately seems to have a curse. The business keep changing names, but it's always fast food, Mexican food. Lucky for them, they have already survived almost a year, a most vile year of pandemic uncertainty and extermination for many business owners. But in spite of the many surrounding small restaurants offering the same cuisine, this little corner stand appear to be busy and well supported. To make things better, they offer drive thru service and have extended hours. My Carnitas was wonderful. Tender and moist with great flavor. For that, I shall return. On the other hand, Hubby got a chile relleno, and two street tacos, an asada taco and a lengua taco. Sorry to say, he said it was all *just* ok. And he already has a list of favorite places that meet his criteria. But what I did notice was the size...impressively generous portions. He needs to try other things. I noticed they also offer chicharrones as an entree, and menudo with pata. These are positive offerings in Mr. B's repertoire of eats, so this will be our next test. This is my first and probably last time here. I ordered carne asada fries but instead of fries I wanted shredded lettuce. Nothing extra or less just low carb style. She said they can do it for $3.99 extra. Wait $3.99 extra for lettuce. Now I'm not claiming to know the restaurant business but I'm sure lettuce is cheaper then French fries. I also understand that all restaurants are ran different, but I have never been charged more. If anything the cashier doesn't know how to ring it up. My friend and I came here to try something new (we live in the Rialto/San Bernardino area). I must say it was definitely worth the drive! My friend had ordered a Sope and a jarrito. I was a fatty ordered a carne asada burrito, a sope, and a large Pepino y Chia agua fresca. We sat and waited for our food. Looking around, I had realized that the place had a charm to it. The color scheme was simple yet festive (I've seen places that do waaay too much!) The kitchen looked clean through the window so that's always great! The staff was very welcoming. While we waited, the servers had downtime in between orders they made small talk and we had some laughs while we waited. When the food came everything looked and smelled delicious! The burrito was nice a big, even distribution of the ingredients so I had abit of everything in each bite. The agua fresca was so cool and fresh I almost finished it immediately and ordered another. As for the sope..... Now let me say this.... When I usually order sopes from restaurants they about palm sized, you know the average size of a sope (which is why i ordered one with my burrito). Nope! The put our sopes in front of us and they were not palm sized at all. The sope was bigger than my entire hand! The edge went out passed my fingertips and they definitely did NOT skimp out on ingredients. Looking at my order.. I knew I was in for a battle. We sat took our time eating and even got to meet the cook (and owner) and he was very sweet and welcoming too! By the end we were stuffed, but I didn't feel so heavy. If I could give a 0 star I would! This place is no longer El Perico. Not sure when they sold the restaurant and it is now named something else. So upsetting because my boyfriend & I would always come here for the amazing Torta Ahogada & shrimp burrito. We drove all the way from Fontana so we decided to still try the food, worst mistake! I got the camarones a la Diabla 0/10 shell still on shrimp, the sauce was not spicy, instead it was very oily and they never gave me the tortillas i ordered. My boyfriend tried the shrimp burrito 1/10 he had to pull out multiple shells from the shrimp. Shrimp burritos shouldn't have shells still on the shrimp!! We also witnessed multiple customers in the same disbelief and constantly having to get their ordered fixed. One family got up 6 times because their order was wrong! Unbelievable. I had been wanting to try this restaurant for quite a while especially because they advertise homemade tortillas. I finally called in an order Sunday morning, the customer service wasn't bad, but they couldn't hear very well. I ordered tacos for a group of people and had to ask for the homemade tortillas,she said sure we can do that,never mentioned the price would increase substantially. We ordered tripas, asada, buche, al pastor,carnitas and chicharrón. I got a call a few minutes later saying tripas would take a while as they barely started cooking them. When we got the tacos home they looked good, except the buche, we didn't recognize the meat, in fact we had to look at our order list to see what meat it was after we figured out what the others were. The buche was old meat, dried out and unrecognizable. The Al pastor was flavorless as were the others, we were missing 3 tacos. The only good taco was the chicharrón,it had good flavor.
