I always love a place that can surprise, even after being around for years. It has been quite some time since I dined at CAH and my recent visit brought me for lunch. I always favor blackened tuna so when I saw a southwestern, salad version I knew I had to try it. And I am glad I did. The color, the crunch, and the flavor were all on point. The team is top notch and the wide array of seating (inside and out) allows you to choose the best setup for your meal. I have been to the Carolina Ale house several times. First thing is that I have never been dissapointed in the food. The Pub Burger, Fish and Chips, Salads, and Buffalo Wings are all delicious. The Batter on the Fish and Chips was likely the best I have ever had. The fish was a great quaility Cod and the CAH fries are crisp and tasty. The Pub Burger is always a hit with me. It is just damn good! I also like the Buffalo Wings beacuase they are seasoned well and the 6 count usually is enough for me. Table service has been hit and miss. On the occasions I had issues, the manager immediately corrected the problem. Three of the best servers/bartenders are Jessica, Anil, and Adgi. This location is on the the places I frequent the most in the area. The food is just plain good! BTW....Wed is $3.00 any pint of draft beer and they have a great selection. read more

This place was not the best. We didn't get served by our waiter at all... the hostess was super sweet and took our drink order without us asking. He did it after we got seated for about 15 minutes with other staff in sight. Our food was even brought out by another server. The only thing our server did was hand us the bill... The food itself was pretty bad. We got the chicken tacos, fish and chips and French onion soup. The chicken tacos were alright. The chicken was finely shredded. My fish and chips we super bland. The batter was good but the fish itself was very rubbery. A chunck of it couldn't even cut apart with a knife and kept sticking together to what seemed like a tendon. Very unappealing in fish. The coleslaw had no dressing and was just bland. Our waiter forgot my tarter sauce and the salsa for the tacos. Overall, wouldn't recommend this place. This place is always busy so I decided to finally try it. I ordered the pub sandwich, the kids spaghetti, the fish tacos, the doughnuts and the cheese curds. The food was just ok, nothing to get excited about. Everything tasted pretty average. With the tacos, the pickled onions were entirely too thick. They should have been thinner. The caramel sauce was missing from my doughnuts and it really needed it. The cheese curds were super salty. My husband and I used to go to Ale House down in Florida all the time while we were in college. We saw there was one close by to our friends' house here in GA, so it's what we chose for dinner. This trip was doomed from the get go! As soon as we sat down, we were hit with the smell of vomit. We asked our waitress about it, and she looked at us like we were crazy. There was a table behind us that was dirty when we arrived, so we thought it may be coming from over there. When it came time to order drinks. Some of the guys asked about the seasonal beers. The waitress had NO CLUE. She literally said she knows nothing about beer or what an IPA is. HOW?! We're literally in an ALE. HOUSE. !!! She came back with 3 out of the 5 drink orders incorrect. Food orders went in. Trash table is still trashed. Every now and then we get a waft of vomit smell. When the food came out, the waitress had no idea which burger was which. Hubs and I shared nachos with zingers on top. The food was fantastic, which is literally the only thing saving this trip. At exactly an hour and 3 minutes after we were seated (yes, I kept track!) the hostess came to seat a couple at trash table, and it was at this point, that she cleared the table while the couple stood and waited. The checks came while we were finishing some beers. Everyone signed their copies, then the waitress came back to ask for the signed copies. A little strange, but ok! I was hoping the manager would pass by at some point to ask about our visit, but that never happened. I visited the Ale House for a lunch, service was great. My server was attentive and my food came out super quick, I did not wait long. The reason for the 3 stars is for the chicken quesadilla..IT IS TERRIBLE. If you go there, DON'T order this item. I spoke to the manager and she explained that they recently changed their menu and that they use smoked chicken similar to pulled pork. To me it looked like they used ground chicken and it tasted as such. I tried to like but I just couldn't. I even tried to smother it in their sauce and guacamole but neither of those helped. This place is actually pretty good. The food and drinks are affordable my only complaint and the reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of five is the drinks don't taste good. I had a Strawberry Coconut lemonade (alcoholic drink) that tasted like none of those three things. Instead, it was like drinking kool-aid or a watered down kids juice box with no sugar. Then I had a strawberry margarita that tasted like water, lime, and weird strawberry concentrate. Just honestly not very good at all. I'm not sure why it's only three stars. I almost hesitated to go the other day but I'm so glad I didn't. The restaurant was clean pretty calm/ quiet. All the prices seemed really affordable and reasonable. Our server was a total sweetheart I wish I remembered her name. The food was absolutely amazing. I ordered the honey buffalo zingers all's I can say was YUM. my husband ordered a Philly cheesesteak and it was pretty good. My only complaint would be the loaded fries we ordered were a little over cooked but not to bad and so was our sons sliders but they were still edible and good. We will definitely be back. It was a quiet Tuesday evening, only three of us dining in. The Hostess was OK, bordering on unfriendly. She asked us to wait as she cleaned up Booth #53 (yes, I took a peek at where she was going to seat us on her seating chart). She then cleans up our booth, perhaps they were short staffed. So after about a 7 to 10 minute wait, she grabs three menus and seats us. The menu selection was really straightforward and they offered a robust 'adult beverage' menu. I opted for an unsweetened iced tea which was really tasty and ultimately decided on the Pub Burger, rare with fries. The burger was cooked perfectly to the desired temperature and not gonna lie was MASSIVE; it's a good thing I was starving. The Pub Burger was loaded with fried onions and the bacon was cooked to perfection; not too crispy but well enough to not be dangling out of the burger, limp. The quality of the ground beef was really good, definitely not of the overly processed quality of ground beef patty. While our Hostess was less than desirable our Server was great and the food was of tremendous quality, value and at a desirable price point. After gratuity, my check came out to just under $20. Still a fan of this place. I recently visited when a friend came into town late. He was looking for something that would be open after 10pm. After searching Yelp, we decided on Carolina Ale House. I totally forgot about them. They stay open until 2am. I think the kitchen closes a little after 12am, but call to confirm. I had the Veggie burger, which was amazing. It had avocado on it and I added cheese. It was the best thing I've eaten from the location. I didn't have any drinks, but they usually have great specials. This is also one of the local watering holes when it comes to big sports games. I like Carolina Ale House. Although, I don't visit for the Ale. I'm usually there for other drinks. Friends and I meet here often. Especially with groups. They are always good for groups. The staff is prepared and can typically handle the crowds. They see crowds often for the various games in various sports. There's an indoor and outdoor bar. Indoor and outdoor seating. Inside there's a huge projector screen, which shows the game of the sport that's popular or in season. The parking is good. It is shared with other stores, so after hours there are plenty of spots to choose from. The staff has always been friendly. No complaints here. read more

Met a friend here to have a little liquid refreshment and watch a game. Flat screens are everywhere and games were on every screen. Wood and beer are everywhere. it reminds me of a cross between Longhorn's bar and Hooter's crowd. Well that sucked! Went with the family to enjoy a meal and got disappointed. One son ordered the grilled chicken kids meal... didn't finish. Ate the fries though. The pizza loving son ordered the pepperoni pizza kids meal... didn't finish. Ate his sides. I tried a slice, it was soggy and lacked real taste. Wife ordered the nachos... didn't finish. She actually ordered a bowl of chili to see if that would help... it didn't! I ordered the grilled garlic Parmesan wings and fries. The fries were good. The wings were crispy! I asked the waitress if these were grilled and not fried. She reassured me that she saw them take them off of the grill. They were so dry! A manager came by and asked "how was the meal?" I replied "it was ok." Then asked "My grilled wings were dry. Next time, how do I need to order my wings, if I want them juicy?" He explained their grilling process and what probably happened to my wings. He appreciates wings too, so he discounted my order... much appreciated. The food experience was a disappointment.
