Carolina Ale House is packed on Thursdays! Whether it be for trivia or just food, there were so many people. These 4 stars can be all for the amazing waiter we had. He was so busy running around getting everyone's orders and trivia cards in, but he managed to serve everyone with a smile and a funny joke. Sincerest appreciation for how efficient he served and his great attitude / professionalism. The prickly pear limeade was yummy but it tasted mainly just of limeade only. Their passion fruit spritzer on the other hand was super delicious, a thicker drink, and tasted strongly of passion fruit. Love the patio seating here. Will come again for the food. We took a large group of boys and sat at two tables. The boys had their separate tickets and me and another mom had our own. The boys got their food quickly and it took an extra 30 minutes or more after theirs for us to get ours (a salad and bowl only) I ordered the grilled chicken shrimp bowl and when it arrived the chicken was raw and when I told the waitress after waiting to find her she went to the manager and took the meal off. She never offered me anything else nor offer to take my blueberry lemonade off as compensation for the trouble. She then charged me for 3 boys at the table when they had already paid. ($75) We waited over 30 minutes to get the check for the other mom and fix the error because I had been double charged and she never showed even after asking for a manager. We waited another 15 minutes- We left cash on the table because we are honest people and even though we didn't need to leave anything since we double paid we didn't wanna dine and dash - very disappointing to get double charged especially since I didn't even get to eat dinner. Another one of our regular places to eat. The food is usually pretty y good. There have been a couple of instances where the service was slow or the food maybe not great, but that's the exception rather than the rule. Upon coming home to Augusta for a graduation, we decided to go to Carolina Ale House after the ceremony to celebrate with family & friends. I had been to Carolina Ale House before in 2012, so I was slightly familiar with what they had to offer. A quick menu refresher did some good. I remembered the first time I came, I had a bacon burger. This time around, I got the Southern Fried Chicken Club with lettuce, tomato (hold that), smoked BACON and housemade ranch ($8.99). This is a GREAT price. This also came with fries. The sandwich arrived HUGE. The chicken was hanging outside of the bun like a BIG girl in a two-piece bathing suit. The smoked flavor of the bacon adds a unique taste to the sandwich that really blends well with the chicken. Unfortunately, I wasn't even able to finish the sandwich, so I took it home to eat later. The fries on the other hand were NOT really that good. I like the crispy texture, but I think the fact that they are beer battered adds a weird taste to them. They're also not seasoned at all, which leave them tasteless. Needed a lot of salt and ketchup to deal with it. Atmosphere: This place is definitely like a mini-sports museum for Georgia sports. They have sports paraphernalia all over this place from college to the pros. I can only imagine what it's like to come here to watch the Dawgs or Falcons play! There are televisions ALL OVER this place. No way you could miss anything. Overall, I loved our experience here. Our waitress Ms. Weezy was pleasant and helped our table with anything asked. I ordered fish and chips and the food was fairly good. The fish is nice and crispy on the outside, and very flaky on the inside. The fries are pretty good too. Just salty enough and fairly crispy. It came with a bowl of coleslaw. The slaw was pretty unremarkable. Diced up cabbage with some kind of seeds in there. Not creamy, no sauce nothing. Very bland. I had iced tea, and it tasted a little bit old. When the server filled up my glass, she didn't put any extra ice in it. The server was adequate, but she didn't have much enthusiasm. She probably spent 25 seconds on me all together. The bathrooms could use the good cleaning. One of the urinals was out of order, and it looks like it's been out of order for a long time. I do enjoy this sports bar! They have a number of tasty menu options including the fish tacos, burgers and flat breads. If you want to share some nachos, they serve a huge and tasty platter. Saturdays are busy during the college football season as are Sundays with NFL games. Get there early to reserve your spot near a tv with the game of your choice. They have a nice beer selection with many craft options. Add to all of this a friendly staff and a local clientele that is welcoming (I know this because I'm the only Broncos fan there on Sundays) and you've got a great hangout. read more

So we're here in town working not familiar with the area. Won't do it again. The place is not busy at all. We both order the same exact plate, this 28 day aged rib eye loaded mashed potatoes and the (un)seasoned veggies. The WORST! My instant potatoes taste better than this. Thank GOD for sour cream it added a LITTLE flavor. I added so much salt and pepper I just gave up. We weren't going to complain HOWEVER the waitress came and asked. Why'd she do that? The cheesesteak although over flowing with both meat and vegetables, didn't even have salt and pepper added. The fries however were super good and seasoned well. The salad, though large, also lacked seasoning on the fried chicken. I moved to the area 3 months ago. And, have frequented this establishment regularly since my arrival. To the point I am friendly with the night time bar staff. I would have consider this a 5 star establishment based on customer service alone , that is- until my last visit. I attended this location last Friday night with a date and we played pool for a couple hours. We ordered drinks, I got a pitcher of Stella Artois and my date ordered a double top shelf pineapple Margarita. After the first game we ordered 10 chicken tenders, at some point my date ordered another margarita. We played 2 more games and ordered doughnuts and were finishing up. The waiter Stephen , asked my date if she wanted another drink and I told him we were almost finished. However he still brought the drink. I later asked for the bill and was careful to tip at exactly $125.00 Because as far as I knew I only had $127.00 in my account. And this dingus was attempting to inflate the bill to inflate his tip however he was unaware of my finances and was only taking from himself in the bigger picture. Fast forward to Monday and I check my account to find out he added an additional $5.00 to his tip. I went to the restaurant and asked for them to correct the situation by giving me a full refund however they only refunded the tip. Not even offering a gift card. I am a firm believer of tipping according to service and living within my means. So I was fully aware of the bill and knew I had reached my limit in order to tip graciously. At no time should the server be causing me anxiety and furthermore and especially he should not be stealing and committing fraud. Happy Hour is from 4-7pm which is a pretty good window. I had the sangria. It wasn't bad. Could be stronger, but it was good. We started with the BUFFALO CHICKEN BITES. I wasn't a fan. They were too salty and the sauce was very vinegary. I also tried the BAR CHEESEBURGER. It was pretty well cooked. Not bad for $1.99! This was a pretty decent meal for 2 for only $25. I visited this restaurant last weekend during lunch hour. The appetizer we got was the 5 cheese and spinach dip which was fantastic! For my entree I got the steak tacos and even though there was hardly no steak in it , the lettuce and other veggies in it tasted very fresh! The waitress was also great. The food was good. My father got the nachos and they were a good size portion and he rated them 9/10. I had the Caesar salad with chicken and it was good as well. My mother had a problem with her salmon being too spicy with the green creame on it (she has a very low spice tolerance) and Amber C was a very wonderful waitress she helped my mother get a replacement salmon and everything. There was no hesitation to allow us to sample as many beers as we wanted. On our second night after a really long day at work and more time outside in the Georgia heat than any of us were used to.
