The mashed potatoes, not so much, dry, no flavor. The broccoli was bitter. Another guest ordered a couple of appetizers for her dinner -- spinach dip nicely served with pita and tortilla chips. The dip was flavorful and piping hot. The fried pickles were okay - they were spears, we were expecting chips/slices, but we still ate them! The meatloaf was an interesting mix of chorizo and beef, again on the dry side. When i signed my receipt i put 0 with a / through it for the tip(because we left one in cash and i put the total as $83.89! So today i wake up to an email that my total changed from 83.89 to 103.89 bc a tip was added! Now, i am all for making sure we take care of our waiter ,even with horrible service, and although we did not like the food we paid for what we ordered. But what i will not accept is Stealing my money, even after being disappointed with everything. Packed with sports memorabilia, tv's, and beer signs it's a great place to catch a game while enjoying decent food. My very first time visiting ale house here in garner. Well, Saturday night I guess wasn't so bad for parking. Spacious parking indeed. A friend invited me here and said this is a new facility. Well, I went to the bar and order me a drink, unfortunately I didn't get the name of my bartender which is I was very uncomfortable of her attitude. I've been to CAHs all over nc. This one is in severe decline and may close soon. Waited 40 minutes to be seated at a booth with messy dirty floors. Then we saw the menu. Ale house used to have large selections on their Menus with all kinds of options. NOT ANYMORE! There were two, yes two! Options for burgers. I am very disappointed in how pathetic the menu has become. Our food took about as long to come out as we waited for the dirty table and was not as we ordered it(steaks cooked too long. Missing sides. Etc) and the burgers that used to be fresh hand patty are obviously now frozen. Yuck. The server was great so no bad news there but this place has gotten so run down and with hardly anything on the menu we won't be back. I can't say my friends and I enjoyed our dining experience at the Carolina Ale House. I mistakenly thought this was a local spot and unique to Cary, but it's a regional chain. Chains aren't bad, but knowing that coming in may have helped us with our expectations. Four of us were returning from a concert at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre when we decided to grab a late supper. Carolina Ale House was less than 5 minutes from the house, so we figured why not. Oddly enough, one from my group, Steve, was hesitant because he said it was so-so (he tried them out once before) but he was trumped by the rest of us. We should've listened to Steve - this is the epitome of prepackaged, fried/microwaved food. We ordered some wings since we felt it was the safest dish. They tasted like they has been left out under a heat lamp, waiting for the right order to come in. Then my cousin, she's Steve's wife, ordered a Caesar salad, which she said tasted stale and lukewarm. I had a burger, which wasn't bad, but overall we weren't happy with the food. I's obvious the food is of the typical sports bar variety, but the food's quality is to be desired. Service was fine - our server was friendly and was on top of refills and what not, but we simply did not enjoy the food. Solid showing this evening. We were a party of four on Wednesday night. The table ordered everything from wings two chicken tenders two ahi tuna tacos. Appetizers consisted of five Cheese spinach dip, cheese curds, and cheddar bacon fries. Everything was served hot and fresh, with the exception of the chips on the dip. When we mention this to our server we were given new chips immediately. Since it was pint night, I picked three different beers from the seasonal menu and was not disappointed in any of them. The hostess staff joked with us when we came in and our server was always around, attentive, and we were visited by a manager at least twice. I don't live in the area but my friends do. I don't really understand all the fuss, Carolina Ale House is an awesome place to grab some good food and drinks. The place has a really cool vibe and it's great for hanging out with friends or having a fun night out. They have a bunch of tasty dishes like the classic burgers and wings, but also some not-so-classic things (like the foot-long hot dog) that hit just as hard. The staff is also super nice, and they add to the friendly atmosphere. There's also a massive selection of adult beverages. You can even top everything off with a delicious desert. I always get excited about new restaurant options opening up in Garner! Since it did just open I was worried about the wait time but it was not that bad. My mom and I walked in and were told that it was only going to be a 15 minute wait so we found two seats at the bar, ordered a beer and waited. The one issue I have always had with the Ale House is the lack of local craft beer but they have stepped their game up! I was able to choose from Raleigh Brewing, Double Barley, Deep River, Lonerider, Aviator and Big Boss. We went ahead and closed out since we were waiting for a table. We received a text when our table was ready which was very convenient. We ended up sitting outside which I enjoyed since it was a nice day out. My mom and I decided to split the Bacon Cheeseburger with fries & Housemade Apple Cobbler. The burger looked like it was flattened with a spatula before serving judging from the bun.. I could not eat it with my hands since the burger patty was falling apart. It is more of a fork & knife deal.. not sure why that happened. As far as the apple cobbler went, it was delicious. I order the Crispy Shrimp Platter most times which is usually very good but today's was absolutely terrible. The shrimp were extremely overcooked and the fries had been fried twice. I think since I ordered after the lunch rush (around 2:30pm) that I got reheated leftovers. I spoke with Crystal the manager on duty who apologized and she offered another meal on my next visit, but I declined. I just want them to do the right thing all day, every day. We ordered off of Postmates I ordered a Philly cheese steak onions mushrooms with no green peppers my mom got a Philly cheesesteak all the way. I asked him why should i contact them when they didn't cook the food. I use to work for this specific Ale house 3 years ago and the management was not whatsoever this rude and misunderstanding! He then went on and i just got so frustrated i told him I'd call tomorrow when Mike was in(the manager i use to work with) because i was not going to deal with a rude manager. He told me i could come pick up another one and i told him i was not coming out which is why i ordered through postmates, and if he could leave a comp card or i have it remade tomorrow, he replied i can't do anything else for you but to tell you to reach out to postmates. Located in the White Oak area in Garner, near Cabela's. I came as a group of 4 around 10:30PM and we were seated right away. Our server was very attentive and fun. We ordered a bunch of appetizers (spinach dip, wings, a Mac and cheese dish) which were regular sports bar type food. It took around 30-40 minutes for us to get our food, which our server told us was due to staff hours being cut. The food tasted good and served its purpose. They have plenty of TVs everywhere to keep you entertained, as well as two pool tables. Over all, it was your typical chain sports bar type of restaurant.
