Jackson Auto Worx rocks. Primarily what's so great is the staff. Kevin and Scott work with you to get the job done. On top of that their prices are fair and the quality of work is good. Once you get a vehicle serviced there once you get on the customer list and there are discounts for return customers. Pretty great if you ask me. I have been taking my cars to Jackson's for more than 15 years. I have had a serious complaint about the work, only once, and it was corrected quickly and at no charge. THE ONE serious issue was when I had a brake job on my Dodge Caravan. I was routinely driving between Winston-Salem and Cincinnati. I had them do a complete brake job and when I got on the road, it was like riding on four blocks of wood. I took it in, when I returned, and they changed the rotors as well as checking the tire balance. Again, I drove to Cincinnati and had the same problem. To make a long story short, the owner took the van, gave me a loaner, and spent a week personally analyzing the problem. He finally determined that the aftermarket parts were the problem, replacing them with OEM parts. That solved the problem. The only additional charge was the difference in price, between the after market parts and the OEM parts. The owner is a very ethical, moral man and does business in a way that he would expect, if he was the customer. His service writers are knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and, most important, they keep you informed if the work reveals that more is needed than was originally thought. They also let you know if a job is not as comprehensive as was originally thought, and will not add on charges, which are unnecessary or frivolous. I highly recommend this shop and will continue to use them for all of my automotive work. read more

I can not thank the gentleman enough who helped me on 11/11/22. I was visiting from out of town for the day and had a scare with several 'idiot lights' appearing on my dashboard. I didn't have an appointment and the garage had a full schedule with no availability but, they squeezed me in and checked my vehicle for me to make sure it was safe to drive home. HONEST, POLITE AND QUALITY SERVICE. I'm new to Winston and dreaded finding a new mechanic. I asked around and Jackson Auto Worx was recommended a few times. I was VERY impressed. They are located next to the Police Station near downtown. - they have a SHUTTLE for drop off/pick up which is very handy since I hate having to coordinate a ride while my car is in the shop. - they called when they had an idea what the problem was and went over the details with me and gave a very reasonable estimate of the price and time to fix it. - they were polite and helpful to the T. - the work was done quickly and for the agreed upon amount. - they provided a detailed written description of the issue and the work done for my records (I appreciate this since I'm not really a 'car' person and its likely that next year I won't remember exactly). Honest, reliable and quality service, they take care of you like you're family! Leaving Jackson was one of the hardest things for me when I moved, I haven't even looked for a mechanic yet because I can't imagine replacing them! Some of the many reasons I love them: 1) Kevin and Scott knew me by name when I called and told them my first name only. They would give me a list of things my older van needed, and they would talk through the list with me, prioritizing it for what was critical to do now and what could wait. 2) They drove me to work and picked me up to bring me back to the shop. 3) Their estimates were almost always high, and I never felt taken advantage of, which, for a woman at a mechanic, is big! 4) They were often done ahead of schedule. 5) The owner was there, visible, and hands on. At times it was with him that I drove back to work or that I spoke to on the phone. He was friendly and down to earth. The office staff seemed very comfortable with him, which made me happy to give him my money since he had created such a relaxed work environment. I'm sure there are tons more reasons, but the biggest is that I felt known and respected. I felt like they were looking out for ME in every interaction, and for that I am incredibly thankful to them for all the years I took my van there (I think they were my mechanics for about six years). read more

On the two occasions I've used Jackson I've worked with nice smart guys who showed they understood what I needed and were great to work with. On my recent visit I was given an estimate of $300-400 and the work came in at $300. I'm sure that doesn't always happen but it was great news in my case. Jackson Auto Worx provides EXCELLENT SERVICE! It is excellent in EVERY way, they keep us informed and educate us as well as helping us determine the wisest repairs; they are very knowledgeable. Keeping our beloved old 2002 Subaru running (260,000 miles) is a cherished project for us and they have helped us figure out how to do this while keeping a realistic perspective on safety and expense. Great experience! I have been to Jackson 4-5 times over the past couple of years with my older-model car. Each time impresses me with their quality of service, knowledge and customer focus. They are prompt with repairs and go over estimates prior to any services being performed. I feel that the costs of any work I have had done has been reasonable, and in many cases significantly more affordable than some of the bigger chain repair shops.They also will either provide a shuttle service or loaner car if you can't wait for the repairs. read more
