The atmosphere is a little harsh but if youre just looking for some good southern cooking, I reccomend. I actually liked the food better than the more popular Shealy's buffet, but the staff was a little slow about clearing plates. When you have more than 2 people at your table, they get in the way pretty easily. I'd definitely go back again because of tbe food quality...especially since they have a different menu set for each day of the week. They also offer take out at a great price. read more

This may have food just like your grandma made, if you are old enough. Chicken taste like it is fried in lard as well as the pork chops. Pork chops had good taste. Biscuts were good. Other food was okay. Not the best I have had. Not the worst. Experience would have rated better if cups and plates were not styrofoam and the room temperature was not 90 degrees. Don't know what has happened in past few weeks but three weeks ago we went there and buffet had been closed off so you could only go down one side. Place was packed for lunch and line moved very slow.--We went there this past Sunday and walked right in at 12:15 and got seated right away. Many empty tables. No turkey and dressing on Sunday, no rutabegas, something has sure changed. Many empty tables when we left, too. We used to have to wait standing up or out on sidewalk on Sunday. What happened?? Did a Yelp search of places near the hotel we were staying at and County Buffet popped up. Really glad it did. Eight people stuffed themselves of real good down home food, tea, and lemonade for less than $70 and unlike most buffets the service was really good as well. My friend & I were driving down I-26 on a road trip and looked up this place for dinner. The food is classic southern style that I rarely see outside my grandma's house these days. Popular local place for grandma style Southern food (at least, this is what I imagine southern grannies cook.) It's gets busy, but the line moves quickly. Kinda reminds me of a cafeteria, though the food was better. The staff were constantly monitoring the buffet to refill as necessary. My favorite offering was the fried chicken drumsticks, but it was mostly stocked with chicken breast on the bone, which I found a bit dry. Everything else was decent, but not spectacular: pot roast, okra, green beans and stewed tomatoes, potato salad, biscuits were dry, peach cobbler, etc. Best to request a seat by the buffet so you can snag freshly stocked items. Tea and refills are included in the buffet price. Would have preferred real plates and silverware, instead of styrofoam and plastic utensils. read more

Had no personality and just felt like the place was designed to get people in and out as fast as possible so a new seat could open up. Felt rushed to eat and the chicken was extremely dry. I had to bathe it in hot sauce to get some moisture into it. Plus they charged the same high price for a cup of water as they do for sweat tea, it didn't lower the cost to order water. Odd. We went on a Sunday... chicken and rolled dumplings (I think they call it chicken pot pie here), real fried chicken (so moist & the batter is perfect) roasted pork loin, all kinds of sides and even the desserts are home made. The service was great, everyone is very friendly and you will NEVER have to ask for a drink refill. Which, by the way, your drink is included in the buffet price, making it less expensive that all the other buffets in Lexington and Columbia. It's a very casual atmosphere... disposable plates and utensils, seat yourself. They also offer togo by the pound too, if your looking for a grab and go lunch.
