Saw people raving about this place for years and decided to stop by and get some doughnuts on the way to a n evening hair appointment in hopes that I could share some goodies with my hair dresser. The shopping center looks a bit dilapidated when you look closer. (I mean it's been there since I was a kid) But it's never external structure that makes me shy away from an establishment. When I went in it was dead but I was warmly greeted by the cashier. I ordered 4 doughnuts (2 strawberry glazed and two regular glazed). I paid and went about my way. As soon as I got in the car, I sampled the treats. Both flavors left much to be desired. Dry chewy dough and not enough glaze to compensate. They tasted old and even a bit greasy. It seems that I'm one of few with this experience so I'd be glad to give them another shot in the morning and hope for a better result. read more

The best of our selections was the apple fritter and the bear claw. We never had a bear claw so I'm not sure they normally have apples in them but I'm glad they did!!! The donuts here are good, always fresh each time that Ive had them. They serve as a nice treat every now and again (because hey, they are donuts)! Any way, it was time for me to treat myself so I stopped by. The service is always pleasant and they make you feel welcomed. On this occasion, 1/16/21, I was disappointed. I watched the kind young fellow wear one pair of gloves to serve customers and take money. I thought Maybe I just didn't see him change his gloves. So, when I noticed that after he took money from the customer in front of me, he proceeded to use hand sanitizer on his gloves to serve me. I politely asked him to changed his gloves as he had just handled money and in return, he politely said that he could not because they were the last pair. At that moment I decided that I wasn't getting a treat, and left! Here is my takeaway: To the owner: Ensure that your staff have adequate PPE to serve customers. COVID is still very real and it is just plain ole food safety, 101. To customers: No need to make a fuss if you see something that make you uncomfortable. Best are the Fritters and the Old-Fashioned, with a shout out to the jelly filled (they fill them there with your choice). If you skip the cinammon, twists, or strawberry, you won't be missing out. We visited Carolina Glazed Donuts on a weekend, during later morning. The store was empty (we were the only ones there are the time) so we felt comfortable being inside to make our selections. The prices were fair. One piece of advice we have is to visit earlier in the morning. We visited late morning and by that time more of the donuts were gone, so we did not get to actually taste some donuts that we maybe would have wanted to if they had been available. Our favorites were the apple fritter and the blueberry cake donut. Both had nice, fruity tastes and the level of sweetness was perfect. We also had a few donut holes which was a nice way to get a taste of multiple different flavors. This donut shop is located in a small strip mall, so there is plenty of parking. Next time, we will try to go in the early morning so that we can try some of the more popular donuts. read more
