Service and food is always excellent it is one of my favorites never been disappointed

Ok , on our way to the mountains we wanted something different ! Found them on YELP! Man this place is FIRE! The fried green tomatoes were great as was the Hungarian Goulash soup! The Hummingbird drink was great if you like Lavender Simple Syrup. My wife does so she liked it - I don't so it still tastes like soap to me as all things lavender and cilantro do! But she enjoyed hers. My IPA Ace Pear Cider was great! The portions are not ridiculous but large for a semi-gourmet class of food. If you're within 10 miles I highly recommend it... maybe 20! AND!!! (Drum roll please!) They were sold out of all desserts except... my wife's favorite... Crème Brûlée ! read more

I had the fried sandwich tomato with mushroom, and it was as good. It has a menu that is different than normal.

We absolutely love Rico's world kitchen, and it is our go to! The fried green tomatoes are soo good as are the lumpia and chicken sandwich. We drive from Loganville just to grab their food and it is so worth it. I do not care for their desserts but the food is great without adding any additional seasoning. At this point we have tried most of the menu and I can only complain about the dessert. So worth it! The servers are fast and efficient and the location is the cutest cozy spot ever. read more

We went at 3 PM for a late lunch, early supper, so we were seated promptly. We asked what the vegetable of the day was, and there were 3: Cole slaw, salad, or sweet potato tater tots sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. My husband got their Royal Rooster chicken sandwich with salad, and I got a Cuban sandwich with salad. (Sandwiches come with house-made chips, so getting a different side comes with a small up charge.) The salad was enormous, but very good! We've been to Rico's many times, and still enjoy the colorful photos on the wall. The service was great, and we'll of course be back again soon! read more

Wow wow wow!!! This place is always stellar. This is the Brunch apothecary's sister restaurant (located in Dacula, another must try brunch spot!) and once I heard that, I knew I had to run over here. Ambiance: smaller homey space with limited parking. Service: not bad, very attentive, nothing out of the ordinary. Food: delicious, flavorful, just the right amount of creativity. I had the ahi tuna sandwich special. It had seaweed salad, pineapples and a sauce. It was the perfect amount of flavors that complemented each other. Overall this place is such a win! One of the best restaurants in Gwinnett. Never had a bad meal there. Their specials are always on point. Small converted gas station with simple appearance, but don't let that fool you. I had one of the 3 specials offered tonight, the shrimp and grits. Honestly one of the best shrimp and grits I've ever had. No pics sorry... creamy grits, fresh spinach, flavorful sauce, and perfectly prepared large shrimp. Beer and wine only. Deserts are phenomenal. Service was on point. Came here on a weekday with my sister and had a great time. I ordered one of the daily specials which was Fried Chicken over Mac & Cheese and green beans. It was delicious and quite a large portion. In addition, I got a sangria. My sister ordered the burger, which she also enjoyed. Truly a gem. We came here on a rainy weekday for dinner, and I was pleasantly surprised. It's got an unassuming ambiance, but their food is out of this world! I couldn't decide between the po boy sandwich and the Cuban, and I had the waiter choose for me. When he brought me my Cuban, he set it down and said, "in my opinion, this is one of the best things we have." And after I had the first bite, I believed him!! They seemed to have a little bit of everything here but lots of good sandwich options and well as some specials. I kept hearing about wonderful raves about this place, and I just don't get it. Small menu and honestly not that many great things. I feel like they are trying so hard to be out of the box that it's just missing the mark. My sandwich was OK. I did a habanero chicken with brie. And it was Just dripping into much sauce. Homemade chips that were not that flavorful had dessert and again not a big well. My service was good and they did a good job. One thing to take into consideration, we had two people in our party that had knee braces on and we're getting over knee surgery. They asked to be seated and were told that they could not be seated until the last person came in From the parking lot. We explained that 90% of our party was here and that we had people that needed to sit immediately. There were tons of tables and we actually had to get a manager because the little hostess girl Couldn't Make this executive decision. But on the other hand, when the manager came out, he was not that helpful either he had to give me the whole song and dance about seating the whole party. I told him everybody in the party was there except one person you have tons of table and you can as you can see there are two people here with knee braces on. Why this had to become a deal I do not know. But it definitely set the tone. well, I be back? Our first time and we will be back. Had chicken lumpia appetizer. It had great flavor and was so crunchy. My husband wanted to drink the dipping sauce it was so good. We got another lumpia to go for our son. He loved it too! We also enjoyed the burger and shrimp risotto specials. Everything was just delicious. Got a creme brûlée to go that was just so yummy. Fresh strawberries made it even better. Inside the restaurant it is a very cozy interior and our server, Hannah, couldn't be friendlier. You may need to park nearby and walk but its worth it. Was looking for a local restaurant that wasn't a chain. Saw the reviews and decided to give it a try. It's a cozy place in a quiet neighborhood. Arrived at 7:30 and was able to get a table for two. We started with the crabcakes as an appetizer and they were very tasty. My wife ordered the Cuban sandwich and said it was delicious. I ordered the fish Poboy. I was a little disappointed in the amount of fish on the Poboy. It felt like there was too much bread and not enough fish. I ordered it blackened and it was quite tasty. Overall, it was definitely a good experience and I would certainly recommend the spot if you're looking for a local option. read more

It's been years since visiting, so we stopped by for dinner with friends Saturday night. Got the Ribeye special, medium. It came out looking the size of whatever they throw on Fred Flinstone's car to tip it over. Whoever cooked that steak knew exactly what they were doing. I don't know why I waited so long to try this restaurant but I am going to be a regular from now on. We went on a Saturday night and the dining room was full. There are a few tables outside on the enclosed patio and we were seated there. All the food and all the drinks on the menu were very reasonably priced. I had a PBR For only $3 !! We shared an appetizer of fried green tomatoes that was lightly floured and tangy. The dinner salads were large enough for a meal, and only $5 !! Last week I had a $14 salad in Gainesville that was half the size. And try the peach and black sesame dressing. Yummy. We shared an oyster po boy and a shrimp po boy and they were both on point. I also enjoyed the blue cheese coleslaw which I had never heard of before but I was cheesy and sweet at the same time. Good service, great food, excellent price. What more can you ask for? read more

We came from out of town for an Atlanta weekend trip, and our hosts brought us to this not-so-hidden gem on a busy Saturday night. We were seated and ordered relatively quick though. Service was perfect in terms of filling drinks, and making sure we had what we needed. The food: We tried their fried green tomato appetizer and their shrimp fritter appetizer that was a special for the night and both were fantastic. I ordered the ham & brie sandwich and am nearly drooling thinking of how good it was. It had apricot in it to sweeten it up which along with the brie was a great mash-up. The sweet potato chips have powdered sugar on them which was a nice touch and made the normally "'meh" side kinda exciting. I heard really good things about this place for a long time. After 11 months and three days, I got there. I wasn't disappointed at all. I got the chicken sandwich and it was legit! When the sandwich was delivered, I thought I wouldn't like the sauce. The waitress saw my facial expression and said it was 'flavorful.' After two bites, I realized it was a taste I had never experienced--in a good way! I highly recommend the chicken. The potato chips were a little too high quality for me, but you will like them. I so wanted to love this place with all its hype. The homemade sangria with too much ice and barely any alcohol but was tasty but overpriced . Yelp is saving it from getting O stars. Came super early on a Saturday night and got in on about 10 minutes. Stayed at the bar while we waited. Don't come I. Here looking for a 100% sanitation rating. We sat down and asked the waitress what her favorite dish was. She pointed to the chicken cuban and the royal rooster. BTw they were out of the first 4 apps at 5:30 on a Saturday. We had the firecracker shrimp. Have had much better and shrimp were small. I had the royal rooster but wanted it grilled but still wanted the habanero. The sandwich was bland and the buns did not hold up to the chicken. The sweet chips were ok. This place needs to put out some good food, they are living off their ratings and hype. Food was really good! A good combo would be getting the regular chips with a sweet sandwich, or the sweet potato chips (they sprinkle powdered sugar on top) if you get a savory sandwich. I personally liked the regular potato chips since they were unique - they were thick and not too salty. The fried green tomatoes were really good (4 of them for about $5) and came with pink sauce. I had the Ham and Brie Cheese sandwich with apricot jam ($9.50) - the french bread was excellent and there were 3 thick slices of ham I included. The brie cheese wasn't anything special but the sandwich overall was 5/5. It's definitely a sweet sandwich if that's your thing! Prices are very reasonable. They did have 3 specials that day that were priced at $24-30ish that sounded really good as well (alfredo pasta, salmon, and steak). It's currently decorated with quirky Christmas decor. Parking is interesting - you should be able to find a spot though. I would have given 5 stars if it didn't take 45min-1 hour for food to arrive (we had a table of 6 and arrived at 6:15). There were a couple times we asked for things and didn't receive them, and drinks didn't come out at the beginning. read more

It had been quite some time at least a year since I had been here. I had talked it up so much to my newly graduated bestie that she chose it for her graduation meal that I was treating her to. The service has definitely changed, starting with the young lady who seated us. Let's just say friendliness wasn't her middle name, and I think she thought if she smiled, her face might wrinkle. It took about 10/15 minutes before our server showed up, even though it was 4:00, and there were about 3 tables occupied. I saw my favorite sandwich was still on the menu the ham and brie sandwich, but it wasn't as tasty as I remembered, but my side of fried green tomatoes were still delicious as always. My bestie ordered the fried oyster po boy with hashbrowns. Then we overheard our server telling the table behind us the specials of the day. We asked her why we weren't told the specials was it bc it was too early? Her reply was no, y'all seemed to know what you wanted.... well, she lost out on a much larger tip! Our total was $36 with $6 (20% even though she really didn't earn it) as her tip. Had we had the specials, I would've chosen seabass, and my friend would've gotten the lobster ravioli her tip would've tripled. Always always tell the customer the specials! We were there until 6 pm on a Saturday night, yet it still wasn't crowded. Back in the day, if you arrived at 6 pm, you expected to wait 45 minutes! But the servers were way friendlier, and the food was better than what we experienced. The highlights were they had my very favorite beer that's seasonal Hell or high watermelon by 21st amendment, and because it was my birthday, I got a free dessert, and I chose the creme Brule which was EXCELLENT!
