We came here for lunch and am so happy we did. The place is decorated so beautiful. I definitely want to come back when they have entertained. The robots that bring your food to your table is such a fun idea. The food is large portions and so good. We both had the Caroun Mix. The meats were so good I loved it and the rice was so flavorful.

I read the great reviews and decided to come early on Friday night, around 6 p.m. Why on earth would a restaurant open to the public have a wedding reception during dinner hours???? This was a full-blown reception with table decor, two photographers, and 40 guests. Looking around, you could see other non-wedding party customers looking astonished and laughing as the MC started talking on a microphone. The MC welcomed the bride and groom with a flower girl who threw rose petals in the middle of the restaurant for the bride and groom's grand entrance. Shame on the owners for doing something like this. People were hovering over our table, greeting one another. Our server was taking care of the wedding party and even apologized to us as we were leaving, since my husband had to get up and ask for boxes and a check. It was so odd and uncomfortable and ruined our experience. I will say we were checked on by other staff, but that didn't help the most awkward and surprising situation that was going on around us. I would have given this place two stars based on everything else, but the food was excellent. Also, my food was wrong, and a robot brought it over, so we had to take it off the tray. I had to ask another server about my meal, and she said she told my server, but couldn't promise that she would be over anytime soon because she was also serving the wedding party. Super professional-those were her exact words. Everyone was tending to the wedding party, and we did not get good service, which is understandable considering there was a wedding reception going on. I can only imagine how the rest of the night went, considering the DJ was also setting up to play music. I hope the owners will close for a private event and consider the rest of their paying guests who also matter and have many choices when it comes to where they can dine on a Friday night. My husband was hospitalized when we first flew in this week, and this is our one night for our first time in Arizona to have a nice dinner before flying home tomorrow. I came based on the great reviews, hoping to have the experience others had. Thanks for making our night extra special! The food is the only reason I'm leaving 4 stars.

When I visit family in Phoenix area, this is a favorite dinner destination. Caroun offers delicious food and an upbeat atmosphere. I highly recommend the family platters for feeding larger groups. We fed 7 with a "4 person order" and had lots of leftovers. Don't forget to try the veggie platters too! Delightful! Dinner here can get a bit pricey if you want to try all the dishes, but it is a worthwhile treat.

If you're looking for authentic Mediterranean/ middle eastern food this is the spot for you. Inside the restaurant I felt like I had traveled to a different country, it was unique in a good way. Food was amazing! Certain dishes I wasn't too fond of the texture and taste, but that's my own experience. We shred the veggie plate, and I ordered the Caroun mix grill. My roommate ordered the kebab sator. Both were packed with flavor! Friendly staff and speedy service! Very nice gesture on the complimentary smoothie from the chef, thank you!

Didn't need a reservation around 5 on a Saturday for dinner for 2. They also had a belly dancer around 5:45 which was a nice surprise. Great service and good food. The chicken tikka, and the lamb in the Tashreeb was very tender, definitely a highlight. Enjoyed trying a Romanian beer as well.

Nice menu at this restaurant, the food is good for the quality here in Arizona. The entire business is clean but it's like all over the place, trying to do everything at once. Random stage with club lights and throne chairs and dim lights, a bar in the middle, a lounge on one side, machine food delivery...I personally recommend having some kind of divider..and maybe moving the stage to storage? it makes the aesthetic look tacky--but overall the decor inside is beautiful but the dimmed lights do it no justice. The service was okay, staff were nice and food was out quick, but barely checked in. We had to get their attention a few times. I'll probably come again.

I had the pleasure of eating from this lovely establishment recently. Although we didn't dine in, we did take out and let me say it didn't disappoint. The meals are quite large and very delicious! Everything is full of amazing flavors. I can't wait to order from Caroun again soon next time we're up in the area.

When I walked in I noticed that they had the hookah section on the left side and then just regular dining on the right which is pretty cool. The server was friendly when greeting us but then didn't really talk much to her after the initial order. Seemed like they had a good amount of people but not too crowded. The atmosphere has fmailies and some couples. Reminded me of a banquet hall. The food took actually way longer then expected and I think they may have forgot to bring it out or something because after a while of waiting they gave us that look like "oh snap we def forgot" I don't usually like to say negative but the following could be good area of improvement: I wish the pita came a little warm but it was chilled. The beef kabobs was pretty good, half of one of them was burnt on one side. Chicken was pretty good and juicy! The rice was bland and kind of reminded me of frozen rice that was reheated. I did get the baklava which was really good!!! The veggie plate was also good. I think the falafel was delicious and fresh! After we finished it was hard to find our server and had to ask someone else to grab the check. They finally brought it over and then I paid and they said they were going to bring a bag to take some items to go since we had boxes. Well I went to the bathroom and came back to my partner still waiting on the bag, so figured they forgot so we just walked out. Not a big deal but also could have been an easy ask but the funny part is they offered lol I was going back and forth between a 3 or a 4 because they do a really good job with presentation of the food. But because the service wasn't as welcoming, and not all the flavors were there I did decide to do 3. If I could I would say 3.5

Food: 8/10 Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 9/10 Stopped in for lunch - first time in. Ordered hummus to start, quzi (lamb) and saj (beef shawarma) for our mains. The hummus was nice and tasted homemade. The quzi came with a tomato-based white bean soup that tasted like it was straight out of a ravioli can, but the lamb was good and tender - although tasted more like mutton. Comes with a lot of yellow rice, onion, peppers and pickle. A dry dish, could use a sauce or dipped in hummus. The beef shawarma saj was cooked perfectly, the pita was grilled perfectly, and its sauce made the dish a standout. Came with red cabbage which was perfectly al dente, and fries. Wish this was what I got. Super friendly service. Our mains came out with robot delivery, which is cute but also strange - as from the kitchen to our table is about 10 feet. The interior is very clean and a bit upscale. The water pressure in the men's room sink, however, was very lacking. Smoking right outside the main entry so our very first and very last impression of the place is that it stinks. Baklava is their only dessert option but it's pistachio-based, so it's already the best option. Lunch with 1 appetizers, 2 mains, 1 soda, and 1 dessert came to $66 without a tip.

We ordered the grilled chicken kebabs with rice, tabouli, and the cucumber salad. We had it delivered with DoorDash. I think the food would've been better if we had picked it up ourselves. Food took way too long to get to our place. DoorDash driver had way too many deliveries before it got to our door.But we warmed up the chicken and rice it was good. We will order from this place again but definitely pick it up ourselves.

Wednesday dinner visit. It was my first visit. I had the Caroun mix:chicken tikka, beef tikka, beef kabob. I liked the chicken tikka best. I would definitely just get one of the tikkas next time. The meal is delivered via robot and then handed to you by the server. More than half of the restaurant is set up as an area to host a party.

A very good middle eastern restaurant. I had the lamb, it was very tender and flavorful. It came with garlic stuffed pickles, rice, and pita. All were very good. Also sampled the steak tika and chicken tika also very good. Also has a good selection of imported beer from Lebanon and Romania. Will definitely be back. Caroun is our GO TO restaurant for Middle Eastern food in Phoenix. We generally order the Appetizer platter (which use to be complimentary) and the Family Platter for 3. We were there on Saturday evening. The food is always excellent and there are always leftovers to take home. Unfortunately, on Saturday night there were 6 unruly children who thought they were at the playground. They ran around the restaurant - making a significant amount of noise, and were never asked to stop by their respective parents or the staff. It certainly made for an unpleasant experience for us and other customers. I hope the owner reads my comments. We have second thoughts about returning there. Our Go To restaurant in Scottsdale is the Persian Room. We have never experienced unrully children there. The Persian Room is lovely and the food is excelent. read more

This restaurant is a must try if you love Mediterranean food. Authentic homemade food. They make you feel like you are home. The amount of food you will get definitely allows you to have leftovers for later. The staff is always so helpful and friendly. If you ever need advice on what to order they will help you out. I have not had a bad meal from this restaurant. Everything is always fresh and consistent Once you open the door it takes you on a journey into their world back home. The decor is gorgeous. Linen on the tables. Prompt and attention to detail service *Order the lemon mint juice. You will thank me later..They use fresh ingredients for each glass. Location; Union Hills and 19th Ave, it located in a strip mall just behind Walgreens. Restaurant was clean, and the service was good. When you walk in the restaurant has this great display, plenty of seating for everyone from 2 to large families. Food; I love to try new foods, and this was a great for Mediterranean. We got some platters so we can try a bit of everything; Veggie Platter; I loved the dolma so fresh and tasty, the hummus wow was great, falafels were tasty and crisp. Caroun Mix; all the meats were tasty, I will admit I was not a fan of the beef tikka, it may have been the texture for me. But the Chicken was great, and beef kebabs. read more

The food is simply amazing. Portions are big for the lamb dishes - enough to take home and have for brunch the next day. Just add over medium eggs! Great for families. Their beef kebabs are phenomenal. I appreciate when a restaurant uses a proper grill for their meat, it makes a big difference in flavor. The kebabs are very fatty and have a great Smokey flavor from the grill. The portion size is excellent for the price of $18.99 a plate, it comes with three sides and a thin pita that has already been eaten. I love ordering the garlic sauce on the side, I feel like it is a must. The staff are all very friendly when I've come to dine in, but I usually just order online for pick up. Overall, great place, would highly recommend! read more

Nice and clean restaurant. The stuff was very attentive. Appetizers used to be included in the meals but unfortunately no longer are. Which is unfortunate but also understandable. Meat and chicken was very well marinated. I substituted rice to tabola with no issues. Overall great place. read more

The food was really good! My husband ordered Caroun Mix and french fries. Parents ordered beef kabobs, and beef tikka while I ordered tashreeb. The place serves Iraqi food. Tashreeb is a big dish of one lamb shank that's served on a very thick bed of Iraqi bread which is then soaked with tomato broth. Service was friendly and fast. The atmosphere was family friendly. I thought the robot that brings food to tables hilarious, and the decorations on the wall will keep you entertained. read more

My son and I came in to try something new in the area. The place was huge and empty. Super clean. The decor is really nicely decorated. The server came to seat us right away and we looked over the menu. Everything looked great, but the prices are expensive. We went with the chicken shawarma to share as it was the cheapest thing. It was actually pretty good portion to share between us 2. It was very tasty and the fries were super crispy. The garlic sauce was so good. I asked for more and I wish the lady told me there was a charge for more before just adding it to my bill. We were still hungry so decided to try something else from the menu. We got the Caroun special plate with all 3 meats. It was like $26 and you get 3 skewers with 3 pieces of meat on each skewer. Like what? The rice was very bland. The flavors of the meats were very good, but very few pieces of food for what you're paying for. Might come back to try other items as the place and service was nice. read more

The food was great! You can tell it was homemade and tasted like it was a bunch of middle eastern grandmas were all cooking. We ordered the lamb, vegetarian platter and kebabs. All were excellent and we will be back. Servers were great and answered all of our questions and service was very prompt. I've only gotten delivery from here, so all I can comment on is the food. And it is wonderful. BIG portions. Usually enough for two meals. All the meats are cooked to perfection, and seasoned well. I recommend the garlic sauce for an added boost. read more

Great food especially the grilled meats on a skewer. The vegetarian platter had one of the greatest humuus' I ever tasted. I asked for a double portion of tabouleh and baba ganoush. So fresh and delish. unfortunately we had to leave suddenly and they were helpful in packing up all our food to go. Thanks for everything. read more

Carouns Restaurant was mediocre. One vegetarian plate option. They have no water which is really sus. Not sure what the water issue is about. Almost walked out but I was with others, so I ordered vegetarian plate. One order was wrong and we had to wait for them to bring the original order. Service was slow, waitress was inattentive. Wow wow wow! I wish I had the time to take pictures of the goodness we had last night! We ordered dinner from Carouns through Grubhub to Hilton Tapattio Cliff hotel. The menu had lots of good options so my husband and I ordered the Tashreeb, which is basically a lamb shank cooked in a beautiful tomato sauce with some chickpeas, onions and green bell peppers as well as spices. It is served on a bed of big broken pieces of bread. We also ordered the half grilled chicken. It is served with rice, garlic sauce, and cabbage salad on the side as well as Lebanese bread. The food took about 45 minutes from order to delivery. They had a $5 off deal and I have free delivery on grubhub so the order was about $36 before tip. When the food arrived it was very hot and fresh. The portion size was huge! Each of those dishes could have easily fed two people; we have leftovers today. The taste was just amazing! The lamb shank was so tender, it was falling off the bone. I am not Iraqi originally but if I remember correctly, this dish is eaten by hand. You just grab the pieces of bread, cut a piece of meat, dip some saucy goodness with it and enjoy! Everything in this dish was 10/10! The chicken was flavored beautifully with garlic and the rice was good with some veggies. They complemented each other very well! This was an amazing discovery at that part of the valley! I just decided to order when I saw they had pretty good reviews and a deal going on! This place is a must try if you enjoy Middle Eastern dishes! We cannot wait to go back again! And next time, I promise to take pictures! read more

I knew Carouns was going to be a gem. It is sandwiched between and Indian and Mediterranean grocery stores. I have been here 2 times now. The decoration is beautifully done, the ambiance depends on your company it can be dinner and chat, or with friends to smoke hookah after dinner. Two separate areas for people who don't want to smoke or be near it. The owner, manager, waiters and everyone are professional and provided us with excellent customer service. This last time we ordered the Chicken Shawarma it came with fries garlic dip and pickles, and the Kebab Satour came with onions and grilled tomato's and parsley, with fresh bread. Sometimes I find the best places unexpectedly and Carouns was one of them. It had been a rough weekend and Monday was a hot day to run errands so I didn't need much of an excuse not to cook. We were practically next door at dinner time and I'd heard good things. We walked into a strip mall restaurant to find white tablecloths and lavish decor. We were greeted warmly by our server. She appeared to be a one-man show that night but she had her robot helper and there were only a few diners. However, within about 30 minutes the restaurant suddenly filled up. You can tell this is a place for many families who seem to be regulars. I had been thinking about Baba Ganoush lately so I naturally ordered it as an appetizer. This tasty dish took care of my cravings! I ordered the Chicken Sharma and this massive plate of moist chicken arrived. The marinade and spices were perfect, the rice was tasty but there was just too much for me. (This became lunch for my husband and myself the next day). My husband ordered the mixed plate and is still talking about how great tasting and tender the beef was. Service was excellent and the food was some of the best Mediterranean dishes we have had in a long time. We will be back. read more

I've seen a lot of false reviews and it breaks my heart because my family and I work so hard to please everyone and have the best Middle Eastern food that hits close to home. We appreciate all of the good and bad reviews since it strives up to be the best and to provide better service and sense of community, however there are some reviews that lie about everything. There are people that are not even in Arizona and never been to our restaurant that are making false accusations about our food and employees. The accusations that our employees are racists and pedophiles are WRONG. It's a hard accusation to throw around without any proof or facts. I visited for the first time earlier this week and had an incredible experience! My favorite dish was the Caroun Mix entree, with Chicken Shawarma substituted for the Chicken Tikka. The meat was perfectly seared and seasoned, with a delicious smoky flavor that highlighted their unique cooking method. I also sampled the Hummus, Baba Ganoush, and Yellow Rice. The presentation and texture of the sides were impressive, though I think they could benefit from a bit more salt and acidity to elevate the flavors. Of course, seasoning preferences vary, and I appreciated having salt on the table to adjust to my liking. Aside from that, the sides were wonderfully prepared! Another standout was the cleanliness of the restaurant. Many places seem to overlook this lately, but the dining area here was spotless, which added to the overall positive experience. We recently visited Caroun restaurant, and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience. The restaurant's decor was warm and inviting, with a cozy and intimate atmosphere that was perfect for a relaxed dinner. The food was beautiful plated, so fresh and just absolutely delicious. Our server was so friendly, and welcoming.There is live music during the weekends. They do serve drinks, have seating for families, and the bathrooms are clean and available on both sides. Parking is good too.Displays of the best Mediterranean food, and the plates are big and it's worth every dollar that you spend here and the people are very friendly and nice. I recommend the kiftah kababs. The side pickles and egg plant salad were fantastic too. What a surprise to find this place. read more

Caroun, is an absolute disgrace. I will never step another foot in this establishment after being blatantly disrespected by the owner. During my visit, the owner had the audacity to make a vile joke about my religion. This was not only incredibly offensive but also reveals the owner's true lack of decency and respect for customers. Such abhorrent behavior is unacceptable and should never be tolerated. If you value respect and basic human decency, avoid this place at all costs. Caroun Restaurant deserves to be called out for its despicable conduct and lack of professionalism. Shame on them! read more

What I love about this place is that they serve seriously good, authentic Middle Eastern food, and their hours come in clutch when it's late and you didn't make dinner but still want healthy food. I called in an order at 10:30pm and it was ready in 20 minutes. It's a lively place at night where you can also enjoy hookah. It's conveniently located right next to a Middle Eastern market which has everything you can imagine. The beef kabobs and chicken are so flavorful and tender. They have some of the best baba ghanoush I've tried and the hummus is rich and creamy. read more

Caroun Restaurant is by far one of the best Middle Eastern restaurants I have eaten at in the 15 years I've lived in Arizona. Their food is freshly made and not to mention it is made with love. The spices are not the regular spices you find in other food which makes the food more unique. The restaurant is cozy for family but yet romantic for a first date type of shenanigans. I rarely give reviews and for me to give is kind of a big deal. I would definitely recommend this place, you won regret it. read more

The food quality exceeded my expectations greatly. Everything is fresh. Nothing is frozen and it's cooked over charcoal, not propane, which I really enjoy. The atmosphere was just breathtaking. This place is so good! The portions are huge! I have only ordered from Uber East so I can't say much about the ambiance but the food is terrific. Never tried chicken shawarma before trying it here but it's absolutely delicious. Love all the sides too! read more
