Good evening. I am literally walking out of your restaurant. I feel compelled to tell you about my poor experience at Carrabbas today. I sat at the 2-top table in the corner of the bar closest to your service aisle. It wasn't too terribly busy, which your staff weren't too shy about bringing up over and over again. Not so much to my face, but loud enough that I heard full conversations at my table. That's why I was surprised by the lack of service from Jake in the bar and the quality of the food. I was quite literally the only patron in the bar until about the last 10 minutes of my experience. Jake came by once outside of orders and food runs. He couldn't have appeared to care any less or more interested in being someplace else. No drink refills. No "how is it". No "can I get you anything else?". If that had happened, I could have told him about the burned chicken parm (photo below) that I couldn't eat. By the time he came back, I was done with the meal and experience. Did he ask if I'd like anything else? No. Did he apologize? No. Did he ask how to make it right? No. He walked away with the plate and said he'd be back with the check. Sure, he brought the check with a 50% discount off the entree. Nice. But, I'm still hungry. I waited all day to have this solo Easter meal as I traveled away from home for work. I guess it means I can walk back to the hotel and pay for an item out of the sundries store. I know it's a holiday, but let's be real about the quality of service the restaurant. Subpar. Not consistent with previous other Carrabbas dining experiences. But one I will share with friends and online. Your staff can do better. read more

So my wife and I were seated and it took about 5 minutes before we knew we needed to leave. It's been at least 20 years since we've been to Carrabba's but it was the Asheville location. This location just seemed joyless when we entered. The patrons seemed unhappy and the restaurant wasn't very clean. When my wife went to sit down her foot slipped because there was something oily or slippery on the floor. The menus felt dirty and tacky. That's a HUGE turn off. It is something I would expect at maybe a breakfast diner. The nail in the coffin for me was the young man who was serving the table right beside us. He was a twenty something young man with a beard. He seemed polite but his body odor was offensive - he smelled like ripe onions. I've never had an offensive odor from a server but his bodily funk lingered in the air long after he left and it was eye-watering. We didn't sit there long enough for a server to appear and take our drink orders before we got up and left. Everyone that works with that young man had to smell this especially the manager on duty and if they can let standards like this slip it made me wonder what other sanitary standards were being lackadaisically upheld. We decided to go out for dinner. We saw Carrabba's and decided to give it a whirl. The menu is very large. You have a lot to choose from you can go from fairly inexpensive too quite expensive. The choice is yours. The Restaurant has a wonderful warm ambience inside. We sat a bit further back, but could still see the warm kitchen with the fires going and the food being prepared. It was really charming. Our server was extremely friendly. He explained everything we didn't understand and even made some recommendations about our meals. It is family friendly. There are small and large booths to sit in as well as tables. The prices may be a bit expensive for those with more than a couple children. But for a date night or enjoying with a friend, it has great ambience and excellent food. The portions were so large, my friend and I both took home enough for a second meal. With children, it would be easy for children to split a meal as the portions are more than adequate. I definitely recommend trying Carrabba's for the atmosphere and the excellent food. The weight person did not know what the happy hour times were; nor was she able to find the happy hour appetizers that were advertised. I got my appetizer, but my colleague had to wait an additional 25 minutes to get hers. She had the shrimp and I had the vegetable focaccia And both were extremely small and dry. There were hardly any customers in the restaurant and Still her order was quite late. I'm sorry to have to say that. I hope that all restaurants in this area are successful. read more

We were seated promptly and the wait staff was excellent. This is where the positive experience ended. The only thing good about our meal was the bread! The soup was more like a stew and was luke-warm at best. The entree portions were small, were overly seasoned and were also served luke-warm. Let me first say that I had a pick up order. They got my food exactly like I ordered it. We had the zucchini friitte as an appetizer. They practically melt in your mouth! Definitely my favorite! My friend and I had the Chicken Bryan. It didn't disappoint. Retirement celebration last night. Service from Sebastian was perfect. Drinks great!! However my Dish was not so good at all. I ordered the Filet and Shrimp Toscana and it was so heavily peppered that I could not eat it. What a horrible experience tonight--about the worst I have ever had. We arrived about 7 to a half filled restaurant at best. Asked for a booth and was seated in a bar booth despite other options. There we sat for over 10 minutes with no waiter approaching. Finally we alerted hostess that no one had approached she said she would let him know but didn't. Waited another 5 minutes and as we were about to get up to request being moved to a section where hopefully we could be served, our waiter finally arrived. He told us that we shouldn't have been seated there and should have been on a wait. Oh well, not our fault. Took our order immediately as we had plenty of time to browse the menu, only to find out they were out of fried mozzarella. Disappointing! Later, when we asked for more bread, it took forever to come. Then out of four dishes ordered, each had issues: the chicken Marsala was way overcooked, the salmon with garlic mashed potatoes was so cool to the point of being inedible and had to be sent back to be heated. The mezzaluna was good but we asked for grated cheese and it was never brought over so my husband gave up and ate it sans cheese. Finally I just wanted soup and the waiter asked small or large. I ordered small but was horrified to see that the cup was only a $1 less than the bowl at 6.99. That's highway robbery and why not just have the bowl at that point. Additionally my soda was never refilled even though it should have been and our olive oil ran out. Our table was not checked on nor kept up with as it should have been; in fact we had to wait probably 10 minutes after the food was delivered to catch our waiter's attention. And it wasn't just our table--the table behind us had to send back all four of their dishes as they were cold. They got attention from the manger, we did not. Here is the thing, the restaurant was not packed and there was no reason for subpar food and service. The hostess was clueless, the server, while nice, certainly was Not very attentive and when you are paying 20+ dollars an entree (or over 50 for an entree, 2 sodas and a cup of soup), you deserve a bit better service and food quality! I haven't been to Carrabas in a long time and probably won't return and one of the diners in our party goes a lot and said this was the worst experience she had ever had. read more

After we walked into the Ruby Tuesday's across the street that was almost empty and was totally ignored for 5 minutes. We left and went to Carrabba's. I am so glad we did. We ordered food to go. The server came to out to let us know that our food was being prepared and offered us beverages. The food was hot and fresh. I had the salad with shrimps and scallops and my husband ordered a chicken dish. Sorry don't remember the exact menu names but both meals were delicious. Sub-par at best... NO! NO! NO! So many things done and gone wrong. I'm very familiar with Carrabba's and their brand. If the owners of the franchise were to visit this location, they would be embarrassed. Furthermore, I had a sit-down conversation with the front manager (Megan) about all of this and she looked like a deer in headlights. I asked for the back manager to join us as well but evidently he left this morning!?! So no one is managing the back? Riiiight... Upon arrival, we requested a booth but had to wait for one to be cleaned as the restaurant was 15% full and had SEVEN empty booths in sight of the front door that was DIRTY. I counted ALL the wait staff (6) talking to the kitchen staff while we waited for the hostess to clear and clean a booth. Furthermore, a beautiful table under a chandelier is used for making silverware roles so I guess no one is allowed to sit there as it is cluttered with all the necessary materials. We were greeted promptly and our drinks arrived quickly (remember - I said not very busy). The bread/oil arrived from a different person with no plates. After asking the waitress for plates, she forgot. It's a good thing I know where they were so I could go get some. Soup of the day may be some of the best I've had but the salad was like eating air. Still trying to figure out what was wrong there but awful. Food arrived timely but the chicken was so overcooked I couldn't finish it. I requested more sauce several times to take it home hoping it might moisten overnight. After pointing all this out to the floor manager, she seemed to have no words except "sorry" which describes the sad state of this store. The worst food ever. I ordered the veal cutlets which were about the thickness of three sheets of card stock tough as nails. The salad that they serve me there was supposed to be an Italian salad was a few piece of lettuce, some shaved cucumbers, one black olives, and one pepper ring with some god-awful Italian dressing on it. I absolutely love this restaurant!! The food is delicious and the service is great. The ambiance is very relaxing and the restaurant itself is very clean and tidy. The staff is very kind and do everything they can to make sure your experience is everything you could hope for. During my most recent visit, I brought a huge group for my birthday! Our server Kristin took very good care of us! Our glasses were never empty and all of our food and drinks came out very quickly despite how busy it was. Our food was so delicious, everything came out perfect, which is really important to us since a lot of us have strict dietary restrictions. We absolutely loved Meagan, one of the managers. She came over to check on our experience, and when she found out it was my birthday she brought out a complimentary chocolate desert that tasted like heaven!!
