I always thought Carrabba's had good ambience. Soft Italian music, lower lighting, good table space... (5 stars) Sat quickly by hostess but no welcome, greetings or interest in whether we had ever been to the restaurant etc. (2 stars) About 10 minutes until server apologized stating "we're really short staffed" (Jon K) Asked for Michelob Ultra Zero. Was told they do not carry that product. Pointed it out on the menu specifically as an item they in fact carry. Server immediately departed for the bar, returned two minutes later saying oh we don't have it... It's a new menu item... These are new menus... and that product hasn't arrived yet. We placed an appetizer order for the combination plate. It came out remarkably quickly, unfortunately probably too quickly because the mozzarella sticks were still cold inside. Unfortunately, the bruschetta served on CostinI toast points was soggy and unpalatable because of it. Server was abundantly apologetic... Distractingly so. He moved incredibly quickly versus just being patient. We understood they were short staffed by his early comment, but him running at high speed only made us edgy. Bread and drinks were delivered by a different person. We did place the entrée order. The sirloin, chicken Parmesan, and clam linguini. Entrees came out very quickly. Again, possibly too quickly because the medium rare sirloin came out raw. We didn't touch it. The claim linguini was actually very good, the chicken Parmesan was average. Upon completion of our meals the server did begin clearing plates and noticed that the steak had not been touched and asked if everything was OK. We indicated that the steak was not cooked correctly and we didn't like it and he asked "if we would like for him to talk to the boss man about taking it off the check." Service (2 stars) Overall, my memories of Carrabba's were that it was a consistently good place to eat at a comparable price. Currently their prices are extremely high comparative to food value. $17 for a combo appetizer $25 for chicken Parmesan and $25 for a 7 ounce sirloin that was not even as tender as a Golden Corral steak is way too high. Again, I think the food quality overall and experience would've been much better, but would not risk coming back at menu prices that are higher than going to A restaurant that is comparable to those prices like Maggiano's. I mostly get take away here and the packaging is great and the food is decent (barely but I can eat it) but that's where the pros stop. The service for picking up the food is consistently rude. I pick up for myself and often through working for door dash and I'll be waiting for waaaayyy over the promised time with little to no updates. I'll see things missing then ask for them only to be met with exasperation from an employee. I would like the things I pay for? Walked in and didn't even stay to eat. When we first walked in a couple was walking out and I overheard her saying they need training for service. Host and the group of servers/workers around her were so unwelcoming. We told them we were a group of 9 which I know on a friday during dinner may be hard to accommodate. But the workers talked amongst themselves in front of us making weird faces of how they'd accommodate 9. They did eventually say itd be 20 to 30 minutes. We said we'd wait and as we waited more customers walked in and the host said "why is everyone and their mother here" as to complain about guest coming for food. Yeah, after that we just left because if service isn't good at the front, how much better can it be from servers. I'm very limited to what I can eat due to my gastro issues. Luckily I found Carrabba's menu which had something I could eat. When we arrived on a weekday evening around 7:30pm, the place was quite crowded. Despite it being crowded, it was still very clean and tables were being bussed quickly. We were greeted right away and sat quickly. Our server was Madison, and she was really great! She took our drinks order and brought our drinks out quickly. Then she took our order. They do give you sliced bread and some olive oil dipping sauce. I can't have it since I can't have gluten but my husband said it was really good. I opted for the chicken noodle soup, grilled chicken, and the grilled seasonal vegetables. My husband got the minestrone soup as well as the lasagna. We did my have to wait long for our food. The soup was brought out quickly. My chicken noodle soup was so good! There was quite a bit of pepper though so it did have a kick. My husband said his soup was really good too. He said his lasagna was really good as well. My chicken and veggies were cooked to perfection. The char on both was perfect. Definitely the best grilled chicken and best grilled veggies I've ever had! When we were done, Madison checked in on us and brought us the bill quickly after first asking if we wanted any dessert to which we both declined. A friend and I had lunch there today and it was outstanding! Our waiter Josh did an excellent job taking care of us and issuing our order it was correct and brought to us quickly. We went to another restaurant before heading to Carrabba's but they had no booths available. We're both exhausted from riding so we didn't want to sit at the bar or any regular table. This is the first time I've been to Carrabba's in at least 10 years. After visiting, I asked myself why did it take so long to go back? I recommend Carrabba's if you want really good Italian food. Came on Memorial Day to celebrate our birthdays there was no one in the facility. It took 35 minutes for us to be set and it was only five in our party. The hostess was horrible. She had a problem that she said five of us at a round table with one of us having a knee brace we ask if she couldn't move us to another table and it took an additional 20 minutes we left there was only maybe 10 customers in the whole facility. She had no empathy. She was irritated that we asked for another table, we will not be coming back. read more

Came on Sunday late afternoon and restaurant wasn't even half full, I was informed they were short on servers so it was a 25 min wait before I got seated. Everything here is a fair price, nothing too expensive. Reminds me of an Olive Garden without the breadsticks tbh. they do give complimentary warm bread that was pretty good. The bread was very soft and I did enjoy that. The pasta I ordered was very mid, nothing stood out (fettuccine weesie, sub w penne pasta) They also forgot the scallops on my order which sucked. I have no idea where my waiter was all evening. A couple sat in the table next to us must be regulars. Which is great! All the staff came by to greet them. Their little events are really what draws me in. Their events, like the bourbon one they had are unique, fun, and have a variety of food I wouldn't normally pick on my own. Three, sales/promotional items. If they email you about a sale or promotion -. Some of the best food they have comes from their promotions. I've never gone wrong, portions are always generous, and the food they're trying to win you over with is great. Four - Their bar! We went once to eat dinner and did so at the bar. It was ridiculous how much fun we had. No sad people...well one guy was sad as he watched baseball...but everyone else was eating, drinking, and having a blast without ending up on channel 13 or Grizzy's Hood news.News. Five, date nights! Every time my husband and I came here for date night we get good food and good service. It is so worth it. You get the Lady & the Tramp vibe, minus the dogs. I remember when Carrabbas had high quality standards and after tasting their grilled chicken and spaghetti, I know for a fact that they no longer use quality ingredients as a standard. I understand the revenue challenges these restaurants are under when it comes to profitability and margins, but come up with more creative ways to cut costs like reducing the menu options and focusing on high quality ingredients for staple dishes. I don't give bad reviews often however leadership really needs to understand the implications of not caring about its customers enough to deliver the best experiences to them. Casual ambience and great for lunch! We tried the new grilled vegetable ravioli and it was so good that I forgot to take a picture of it. The main veggie in the ravioli was mushroom, so it was super delicious! We were there for a few hours just talking, but our waiter did still come by several times to check on us, so the service was nice as well. We also tried the chocolate dream cake and the tiramisu! I've never liked coffee cake so I wasn't a huge fan of the tiramisu, but the chocolate dream cake was great! It was filled with fluffy mousse and was very rich! It was a bit too much for us to eat alone, it is probably better to be stared between 2-3 people. read more

I haven't been to this restaurant in over a year and I could tell the quality of food was not the same. I ordered Chicken Bryan and the dinner portion was very small. Good spot for a weekend dinner. Price is similar to that of Olive Garden and the concept is the same- large entrees with soup or salad and bread beforehand. Bread is great, love the herbs and olive oil. I like that there's an option for which salad you want or soup. The pasta options range from classic to unique, my favorite is the rigatoni with sausage because of the goat cheese, it's so creamy and tangy. Wow where do I even begin. I have always heard of this restaurant, Carrabba's, but somehow I always miss it when my family decides to go. So for many years, they always talk about how yummy it is but I never got a chance to eat at this restaurant. I even did an Uber deliver for this restaurant. When entering the restaurant, it is a lovely romantic spot for a special night. You can smell the fresh bread baking in the oven. Along with the fresh pareasen being served right besides me. The lights are dimmed around but bright on the table. The hostesses greeted me and my friend with a warming smile and guide us to our table. The waiter then greeted and introduced himself and got us some drinks and bread. We order the muscles for our appetizer. The muscles was cover in a white wine sauce with lots of garlic. The muscles was very delicious and fresh. Since the sauce was so yummy, I even took the bread and used it as a dipping sauce. For my entree, I ordered their new filet and shrimp and it come with either a soup and a salad. I got the lentils and sausage soup. The soup was surprisingly yummy. Usually soup at a restaurant is heavy in oil and heavy in salt. However the soup was a perfect balance of flavor. For my entree, the noodles itself was heavenly. It had the perfect consistency. It was cooked perfectly al dente and I wish I can have this noodle every time I ate pasta. However for me I wish there were more sauce to cover my pasta. But this was a blessing in disguise cause it allowed me taste the fresh and perfect cook ingredients. read more

Came on Father's Day Sunday 6pm and surprisingly got seated right away. We got the bread and olive oil dip (no butter). Ordered drinks-- the prickly pear margarita was so good. Food I ordered the Cesar salad, spinach with scallops. It was good. Nothing special. Daughter had the penna pasta Mac & cheese. We liked it. Very light sauce. Whatever my husband ordered, some sort of fettuccine with marinara meat sauce and basil and shrimp my daughter loved. Then we had strawberry cheesecake. Ok.. so I've been here many times over the years. I've always ordered pasta or the mussels; both excellent. This time I decided to order their Tuscan Grilled filet 9oz. This steak deserves every 5 star. I ordered mid rare and it was perfect...perfectly seasoned and the grill flavor came through slightly but clean and favorable. For the price it's well worth it(includes two sides, their bread and olive oil seasoning, and salad), for around $40.00. I've been to almost all fine dining steak restaurants in Houston, Sugarland etc... and this was impressive. I ordered pick up and the order was quick; no waiting when I arrived, at the scheduled time. The atmosphere was quiet. Will definitely order again anytime I'm craving a filet in Sugarland. read more

New Years Dinner. Got the classics combination for an appetizer- the calamari was thin (most thinly sliced calamari I'd ever had). Depending on personal preference, it might be perfect. For me, I am used to a thicker calamari- but the breading was good, as was the seasoning. There was also some octopus legs as well. Very crisp. The mushrooms were pretty flavorful, and the mozzarella sticks had great pull. Entree wise- everyone was satisfied. My mother and I both had winter specials. She chose the Short Rib Marsala and I had the Rigatoni Al Forno. I tried a bite of her Short Rib Marsala- it was arguably some of the most tender and flavorful beef I'd ever had. If I went back, that would be my first pick. The Rigatoni Al Forno was cheesy and carby (a perfect combination), but it lacked the depth I was looking for. Felt like the pasta was too big to fit in my mouth and a bit harder to get through, but still a decent dish. My father had the Linguine Pescatore- I tried some of that as well. Had a nice kick, and more depth. Perfect for a seafood/pasta lover. The portions were really big- my mother and I did not finish our entrees. Would definitely recommend the short rib and pescatore. Side wise, everyone had the house salad, as recommended by our server, and it was pretty good. Drink wise, my mother ordered strawberry lemonade, and it came with free refills! She liked it. Additionally, there was also a take home an entree for $10 deal going on- we thought it was great and got a Shrimp and Scallop Linguine alla Vodka and Chicken Trio to go. The ambiance was pleasant- there was some easy jazz playing in the background, although there were some more mainstream pop songs that did play. Loved the warm, dim lighting. Nice paintings in the background as well. Service wise, I was very impressed. Our server for the night was a really sweet older gentleman, and he gave us great recommendations and thoroughly explained the $10 deal going on. There was a bit of a mix up with the $10 deals as there were a lot going on (and it's not hard to see why), but our server double checked our bags before we left and quickly fixed the problem. Wait times were not too long and allowed for great conversation! Apparently, my parents used to come here frequently before I was born, and I fully understand why. My go to spot for pasta and muscles that are consistently delicious every time! I love ordering the fettuccine because of the chewy yet thin consistency of the noodles, they are just perfect! The muscles are a must have every time I visit because of the white wine sauce and the loads of diced garlic mixed in. The complementary bread is perfect to dip in the extra sauce from the muscles. I would like to give a recommendation to try the wine pairing dinners (and occasional bourbon dinners) that are offered twice a month. There are very interesting and ever changing foods that are not part of the everyday menu. Very generous pours. 4-5 courses with wine all for 1 price. Besides that Sugar Land location has a great assistant manager that makes them fun with personal interaction at your table, trivia on that night's subject, and drawings for prizes.
