After Bingo Loco we decided to stop in and check this place out for the first time. It's dinner time and the lights are low. It is a very chill vibe with low Music playing and making it easy to converse with friends. The staff is friendly and very attentive, taking care of our needs. I would definitely come back. Cajun Deviled Eggs: 10/10... them deviled eggs are so good that I wanted to order a second round. I got it with shrimp and every bite was flavorful. Seafood Gumbo: 8/10... the gumbo was good but nothing to really run home about. It was bean ed well but not flavorful. Didn't give that tree New Orleans feel. I enjoyed it and would recommend trying to for yourself

Came here Easter because my daughter hasn't been in eight years. She wanted to come back for the seafood. Unfortunately, the Server told us to go to Razzell (if I'm saying it correctly) or pappadeaux's. My daughter asked if they had catfish, which they didn't, and told the Server she had a shellfish allergy. She had a kidney transplant 2 years ago and developed a shellfish allergy. All of the seafood had shrimp on it. (When I came Friday with my friends I had the redfish with shrimp that was delicious). But the Server didn't offer an alternative but to go to the two places I mentioned. How rude! We went to pappadeaux's where my daughter mentioned she has a shellfish allergy but wanted seafood. The Server said she would get the manager that could offer her information on what she can get. The manager explained the gumbo was made with a shrimp roux so she could not eat that. He explained what they could provide that she could eat. It only the Server at Rouxpour could have asked a manager to speak to my daughter to see what she could get, we would be satisfied, but she didn't. I know my daughter isn't the only person that has an allergy that has been there. If only they could have talked to my daughter. I had been there the Friday before with four friends and had the best Server. This one needs training. O stars

Can never go wrong with Rouxpour. Gumbo, deviled eggs, red fish, zydeco chicken. All some of my favs. We shared the crab dip shrimp and crawfish fondue and it went so fast I didn't get a pic. Trust it is not to be missed!! Some of my friends got oysters, ppl always love them but I'm not a fan so we will trust there judgement . We had some tasty drinks: Blueberry martini: all flavors balanced Garden district: sweeter side Seasonal cocktail: in between: good as well Dirty martini :

Took myself to dinner while staying at a nearby hotel. I sat at the bar near the piano player. It was wonderful to hear live music while enjoying some Louisiana favorites. Our server was very attentive and friendly. I ordered the corn and crab bisque, zydeco chicken, and the white chocolate bread pudding. Everything was really good. I did find the corn and crab bisque a bit salty, but everything else was wonderful and seasoned well. The bread pudding (one of my faves) was warm, sweet, and moist. Such a good end to the evening!

Now this place me and my mother thoroughly enjoyed. We don't go to town center in Sugarland often however this was a good mixup for us and we will definitely be back. I am interested in trying to happy hour. The food for breakfast or brunch was great. The service also was good as well. We started out inside, but we moved outside because it was a very pretty day and the staff was very accommodating so yes, as I would say overall this was a great experience.

Came here for my mom's birthday and WOW! I don't know how I've never been to this restaurant before. I've been in the area and have grown up here for most of my life, but have never thought of coming here. First impressions: I like that it's in town center, so that parking is so easy. The restaurant itself is really nice, only complaint is they can only seat 8+ people at the booths (or so that's what they told us). So we had to fit into one of the booths with 9 people, not a BIG deal, but space was a little cramped. Food: food was great! The oysters, I could come here just for them. BUT, my main dish was also pretty good. I got the boudin chicken and the spices and everything were really good, would definitely order again. Service: Our waiter was amazing! He refilled our waters, was very attentive and even took our family photo. I will definitely be coming back again and try something new ( but also order more oysters!)

We came wanting thinking we wanted to get oysters, but ended up just ordering appetizers and grabbing a couple drinks. We sat outside as it was a nice day. Our server was very new, but friendly. You could tell when we asked a couple questions regarding the menu, and she wasn't sure.. no worries. If you've never had the deviled eggs, oh boy, you're in for a treat! Fantastic! The seafood gumbo was spot on as well. All in all we had a good time and our experience was pleasant. Highly recommend coming here and trying out their apps! It was a fun date night spot.

My sister suggested we go here, she had been to their other location. You can park in the garage for free and come down the stairs right to the side of the restaurant. The outdoor seating looks really nice and the inside was beautiful. We were a little underdressed as we can just came from the hospital and the restaurant does have a dress code. The wait wasn't long at all. I wasn't really hungry and I didn't want to eat anything heavy as I had to drive back to BR so I ordered the bbq shrimp with mashed potatoes. There's some things on the menu I would like to try so when come back for the weekend I'll definitely stop by. My food was really good. Sometimes getting south Louisiana food outside of south Louisiana is disappointing. However, this was not! The flavor was there and it had just the right amount of spice and the shrimp were juicy and not overcooked.

Came in Friday night with other couples from our marriage retreat. It was a big group of us (about 8 couples) and we did not make a reservation because we had just decided where we wanted to eat in the hotel lobby. The hostess told us that she could not seat everyone because it was Friday night and they also had reservations. Some of the group was able to split up and get smaller tables and a few decided to eat somewhere else since they could not be accommodated. (When we walked in around 7:30pm there were plenty of empty tables inside and outside). My group split into a table of 6 which the hostess said could only be accommodated outside in the patio. The weather was nice so we didn't mind. (There were a lot of empty tables around us in the back of the patio. Only a couple had reserved signs on them). While we were waiting for our waiter to greet us, Tabby came to the table to let us know our waiter would be with us shortly and she could answer a few questions for us. Tabby was so patient with our questions and basically broke down the whole menu for us! So we were pretty much ready to order by the time our waiter came. And his memory of our orders without taking notes was impressive! For starters, my hubby and I split a dozen raw oysters and the Steak Rowley. The oysters were good. The steak rowley was a lot smaller of a portion than expected (it looked bigger on their website sample picture). We ordered it cooked medium. It tasted great with that blue cheese butter! For my entree, I had the daily special sea bass. I can't remember the name of the sauce it was cooked in. The sauce was tomato based and had shrimp in it. I thought the dish was really good! It came with rice. I wanted a little bit more spice though, so I asked for the spicy sauce that came with the oysters and that kicked it up perfectly. Hubby had the stuffed flounder. He actually liked this dish considering that Tabby and the waiter called the dish bland. He asked for a creamy Cajun sauce on the side and he liked it. Overall dinner and service were great. Reason a star removed: By the end of our dinner service, there were still about four empty tables surrounding us on the patio. That meant to me that they were more than capable of accommodating our group of 16 even if we had to split into multiple tables of 4 and be in the same area instead of a few couples leaving and y'all missing out on some business.

Came here with the fam, to celebrate a bday. I have been here several times in the past, but not recently. The place has completely changed. New renovation of interior design and new menu, and vibe all around. I think they are trying to make it more of fancy wine centered place. It used to be more of a divey bar, with tasty food. They took off sautéed crab fingers from there menu, so disappointing, those were great. Parking - there is a garage a little ways down. And there are some spots out front that have a meter on it. But the hostess told me the city doesn't check it, and some meters don't work. I parked out front at the metered spot, but didn't pay. I mean what a rip? Your already paying for food, why meter the parking spots out front?? Server - I made a resy, but probably didnt need to. The place was full but not packed. Our server Alex was good. Food- I started with the crab & corn bisque. This was great, large pieces of crab, great creamy texture. Would recommend. For my entree I had the spring shrimp salad. This was fine. Someone ordered the crab cake this was not tasty at all, was dry and not much crab. The gumbo looked too runny for my taste. They could thicken up there rue for sure. The stuffed flounder seemed to be a success, though I did not try it. Overall I think it was an average meal at best. It seems to have a consistent crowd, as there was a steady flow of customers, so I'm sure there doing fine business wise. Hopefully the new changes serves them well.

    Does restaurant have Valet Parking?

Not the one in First Colony.

Is there a private room for a group gathering?

There's not a private room but maybe if you call in advance depending on the day maybe they can make the back room private.

Do i need to make a reservation?

    Yes, especially on the weekends

    How noisy is it?

I visited around 4 pm and it was REALLY loud. Put it this way, I would have to lean in to hear what the person across from me was saying. (In their defense, there were a couple of sports games that day)

Is there a brunch buffet? How much is it per person?

Sunday brunch select from a brunch menu. Check their website for selections and prices.

Is there a good viewing area to watch a ball game on tvs?

Yes there are TV's to watch.

Leaf & Grain is the spot to satisfy those cravings. This West University location is easy to find and it located on a corner of a large shopping strip. Parking is plentiful. Inside is spacious and is warm and inviting with lots of seating. Counter service is how they run business and they do it well with a great customer service. As I'm sure you've guessed from their name, they specialize in salads and grain bowls. The menu is not big by any means. A little more variety would be great. Both the salad and grain bowl categories have about 3 or 4 options each. They also have 3 plate options as well with chicken or seafood. If you're in the mood for a sandwich they have a few of those options as well. My eyes locked in on one of their seasonal warm bowls. In the summer months, they have cooler, cold options. My eyes locked in on the Massaman Curry. I'm a sucker for Thai flavors and this bowl was calling out to me. It came with a bed of brown rice, topped with chicken, peppers, onions, cilantro, spinach and topped with a curry sauce. They also gave a chili powder on the side if I wanted to make it spicy along with some peanuts. Yes please! The bowl was presented nicely. I mixed it all together and added a dash of the Thai chili powder. This dish was delicious. Not trying to be funny, but I wasn't expecting that much flavor coming out of a dish from a grain and salad spot. The ingredients were fresh and the curry was so flavorful. I tasted hints of coconut that made it slightly sweet, but it packed some heat to it as well. I loved the contrast in textures as well. I washed it down with a Mango Deck (mango, strawberries, banana, agave and coconut milk) smoothie which was a perfect, refreshing sip to go along with the spicy meal. Overall, I liked this place alot. Sometimes it's nice to have a meal without having a guilty conscience afterwards. I will definitely come back if in the area.
