My family has enjoyed many fine meals at Carrabelle's. HOWEVER, today I ordered Chicken Alfredo, which is what I normally order so I know what it normally tastes like. The noodles were luke warm, barely any Alfredo sauce and the chicken had absolutely no flavor. The waitress asked me if there was a problem and I said yes and gave her my explanation as to why I wasn't eating my food, she suggested that I speak to the manager. The manger/owner/cook, Scott Dicorato, came to our table and asked me what the problem was, I told him what I had already told the waitress. I told him how bland it was as well as not being warm and started to suggest that he might need to season his chicken because, seriously, it tasted like boiled chicken, when he very rudely said he didn't need my advice because he had been cooking for 25 years!!! (Big deal buddy, I've been cooking for over 45 years but that's neither here or there.) He was extremely unprofessional and obnoxious. I asked him if his ego was so big that he couldn't listen to what I had to say and he told me he didn't want to hear want i had to say, then said I'm not going to argue with you and walked away from the table!! I was not being argumentative at all. My husband was proud of me for not saying more after his attitude. I would have been satisfied with an apology but I will never go there again to eat because of his dismissive and condescending attitude. The waitress did tell us that he had taken the meal off of our ticket, which was fair because I only had a few bites of my food. read more

Probably my favorite restaurant in Dayton .the service is always good, the food is always fresh ,and the Help is always friendly. Pretty reasonably priced.. A great place to hang out or chill because they do not care if you sit in there a while. read more

Not sure if we'll be back , last experience slower service , didn't get one of our salads and one of the first 3 brought out was a totally different lettuce (?)- anyways got a piece of toast instead of waffles when ordering chicken and waffles again (?)- and when making sure we didn't get charged for the waffles we were told well the price is the same because you order the Texas hot chicken, really. Debated between the chicken parmesan and dragon shrimp tacos. On the server's suggestion I went with the shrimp tacos. Great flavor. Shells were a little tough. I would eat them again for sure. Two trips to this restaurant. My first visit was amazing. The second trip there may very well be my last. Food was way over cooked, served cold, and they were out of several items on the menu. Our group ( we had called ahead ) was shoved in a back corner,and it felt like we had been forgotten by the service, or lack of. So me and four other people ordered something Mac and Cheese and out of the 4 dishes mine was the only one that was swimming in what looked like milk or it could have just been watered down cheese sauce either way it looked disgusting and had no flavor whatsoever ever, sent it back and not even 30 seconds later they came back and it was so obvious that it was replated (I put pepper On the old plate they only hit Cajun seasoning in it) and the "manager" insisted that's how their cheese sauce looked but yet no one else's Mac and cheese was like that. been there a few times. This last time was rough. my family all ordered steaks. ordered them medium rare and well done. We had to have them cooked 3 times completely over and in the end was still not right. well done was bleeding and medium rare was cooked to medium well. Seems that with $100 worth of meals that they would get them right even after recooking them all 3 times. Then even after 2 hours of waiting on our food they showed no Compensation to our bill. We were visiting Dayton while escaping the hurricane in Florida and visited this location once. Carrabelle's had a good selection of daily specials including $4 margaritas on Monday. We ended up ordering drinks including water and a sweet tea and an appetizer of the fried green tomatoes. The fried tomatoes were average, weren't cooked long enough, and barely had any breading on them which didn't stay on the tomato. My fiancee got the pulled pork sandwich which was average as well and in our opinion was under seasoned. She ended up eating all of her fries and leaving the sandwich on the plate. I ordered the special which was the prime rib sandwich and this ended up being the only saving grace for this location. The sandwich was fantastic and perfectly cooked. I would order this sandwich again in a heartbeat! Final comment, our waitress was average and the individual seemed like they didn't care as much. The individual did not know the daily specials, what the kitchen could add on such as onions, types of peppers, etc, and told us the items would be served in a certain manner which ended up being the opposite in which they were served. I would not come again when I visit Dayton. You are better going to their better sister company Jacob Myer's because you could get a better meal for about the same price. PS - I don't mind food places like this and often eat at chains like Apple Bees or Houlihans and love their food! This place just completely dropped the ball. read more

I've only been here two or three times but most visit weren't very favorable. Service was great but food is average at best.

We visited on Thursday and food was cold as soon as it hit the table. Added that it took over 45 minutes for the food to come and when we mentioned that it wasn't warm, we were told we would have to wait even longer for the recook. We were really disappointed and my wife was so hungry that she ate it anyways. Gorgeous restaurant but food quality was poor. Only giving 3 stars because our waitress was accommodating. read more

Ate at bar. Very friendly barmaid. HH margarita was good at $4.00. Ordered Shrimp and Grits. Nice job on grilled shrimp and andouille sausage but grits were pasty and bland. Did not finish. Never again!!! Waited close to 2 hours for food for myself and my husband. Watched other couples, groups etc come in, eat and leave while we were left waiting on our food! Absolutely ridiculous. We ended up leaving and told the manager why even though he knew because several times he said "sorry it'll be just a minute". When we left no one seemed to even care. My husband and I decided to try something new and give Carrabelles a shoot. We were seated immediately. The waitress arrived immediately to take our drink order. She did make menu suggestions since we had never eaten her before. We ordered the waffle fries which were really good. We had the small salad which was excellent and fresh. I would have like a little cheese on the salad. My husband ordered the Spaghetti and meatballs. The sauce was very fresh and tasty and the meatballs were very good and not greasy. I had the Chicken Alfredo. It was AMAZING! The best Chicken Alfredo I have had outside of New York City. Service and food were great. I would go back again. 3rd visit to this restaurant and haven't found any bad choices. 1st visit was a shot in the dark at picking a place to eat in Dayton- but have returned twice just to eat here( 1 hr drive from Crossville)!! cannot understand how there are any bad reviews. We have been for lunch and dinner and always the food is excellent and our service is very good to excellent- today was excellent!! best cheese grits with great flavor! always get more than I can eat. my husband loves the prime rib- I got the shrimp quesadilla today and it was great. best shrimp tacos(from previous visit) Mango tea was really good!! will have to go on a friday or saturday to try the oysters!! read more

Our first visit. Mixed reviews had me concerned, but overall, good experience. I had the Shrimp & Grits. While not exactly traditional, they we're still very good. Pickled onions added to house salad is a very nice touch. Waitress was friendly and knowledgeable, without being pushy. My wife had the crab cakes, which is something I would be leery of ordering in Tennessee, but they were good too. Great selection of craft beers. read more

We had an amazing dinner this evening at Carrabelle's. Not only were our meals great, but waiter Jason Royal was fabulous! My mother in law had a bacon cheeseburger and kettle baked chips and I had a dragon shrimp taco with a side of broccoli. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. We will be back! read more

PRICED for elite individuals with deep pockets. Service was slow and servers failed to show up once we were served to see if we like the meal or needed anything. Acoustics are bad....sound reverberates from the floor to bare ceiling. Afternoon setting sun reflects off of the floor if you sit looking toward the window and blinds you temporarily. No rolls to nibble on prior to waiting 25 minutes for the main dish. Sit and wait! Then the food was COLD and I lost my appetite completely. This entity is run by Jacob Meyer Restaurant owners who are successful in Dayton. Some how they failed to bring that quality to this restaurant. All in all...I give this a MINUS 1. read more

My husband and I came in today for lunch, we were very impressed! Service was very fast and prompt, had a wonderful beer selection and the BLT was out of this world. My husband ordered the shrimp tacos and said they were the best that he had ever had. We loved the atmosphere, a great new place for Dayton!! We will be back! read more

Three of us ate there, each with a different entree; a burger with no bun, sliced tomatoes and waffle fries; an order of waffle fry nachos with avocado and sour cream; and chicken parmigiana. The chicken Parmigiana was excellent in taste and presentation on a bed of pasta with marinara. The nachos were just okay but the candied jalapenos in it were superb. The burger was really good and great sliced tomatoes, but the waffle fries were not fresh at all and tasted old or frozen in old oil and not hot and crisp as they should be. This is a dysfunctional restaurant. Nothing wrong with the service staff, they were nice and victims of the dysfunction themselves. Our party of twelve was served bread more than 30 minutes after arriving and there were only 10 rolls so not everyone got one. Giving this place 2 stars only because the red snapper was good and the server was nice. We went on Mother's Day, had reservations so didn't have to wait to be seated like some people that we saw and know they waited at least 40 minutes (and not sure why because there were a lot of empty tables). We waited about 20 minutes for our salads which were just ok, lettuce looked a little old and brown. Then we waited about a total of 45 minutes for our food. There again not sure why since they have changed the menu, taking most of the great items they had on there, and the simple menu they have now should have all be ready to be served quickly. It is very pricy for the type food you get and the selection is no where as good as it was. Why do restaurants have to change a good thing? We really enjoyed the old menu and dined there several times. Now not sure it is worth it. Heck, they don't even have chicken fingers anymore or the wonderful fried chicken salad. Or chicken livers. My black and blue salad was iceberg lettuce mixed with very few blue cheese crumbles and 4 small slivers of steak. $12.00. We were very disappointed in this restaurant. We waited 1 and 1/2 hours at our table just to get the waitress to take our order. Once we finally got her to take our order we had to wait 45 minutes to get our food and there was only four of us with simple orders. One of the orders was for the folly fried steak and it was so full of gristle it could hardly be eaten and the part without gristle was tough. The apples that came with the steak were not cooked all the way. Another entree we ordered was the chicken and dumpling pot pie ... Mostly dumplings...hard to find any chicken. The other entree was the calabash chicken salad and there was really not even an entire tender and what they did put on there was cold and tough. We all said we NOT go back to this restaurant ever. We did not even have salt and pepper shakers on our table and finally has to find some on an empty table because we could not get the waitress to bring them. Coffee was $1.99 per cup and the waitress never offered to refill the cups even when they were empty and we had to ask to finally get mire coffee and we ask nice and the waitress was really put off that we kindly ask for a refill I wish I remembered the waitress name because she was the rudest one I have ever encountered but unfortunately I don't have it but she was blonde headed with her hair pulled in a pony tail. If you get her you might want to change to a different table. Last but not least it is very noisy in this restaurant so if you are wanting a place where you can visit and talk your family while having this is not the place to go. I ordered the Chicken and Biscuits and it came out perfect. The chicken is hand breaded fresh and was delicious. Service was polite and responsive. The pricing may be a bit more than the area is used to but I eat in Chattanooga a lot so I expect this pricing for a restaurant this caliber. The atmosphere and decor is a step up from area restaurants as well. I recommend this restaurant to any and all ages. read more
