On July 23, 2025, I visited Tru-Tec for maintenance inquiries after completing a safety recall with…read morethe Toyota dealership. I came into Tru-Tec asking about maintenance and left Tru-Tec with a lawsuit. The maintenance Tru-Tec originally completed was a valve cover gasket replacement and front brake replacement. However, when I got my car back that evening, the check engine light was on for the very first time since I purchased the car back in November of 2023. While completing this work, Tru-Tec verbally told me that they had burned through a wire and would replace it for free. They refused to write this down for my records, constantly brushing off my and my husband's requests. After visiting the shop a total of 5 times, trying to charge me for the wires and installation they originally stated were free, and still having my check engine light on, Tru-Tec was unable to fix the damage they caused, eventually calling me "neurotic" and banning me from the shop. After months of carpooling with my husband, utilizing rental vehicles/tow trucks, visiting several locations that refused to touch the damaged wiring, and receiving quotes from the dealership that would have cost more than $5,000, I was finally able to have the car back in working condition once Premier Performance came into the picture. After hearing from several professionals, I learned that the wiring Tru-Tec originally installed was off-market, which could have caused even more damage to the car's internal systems. Since the car was repaired correctly and safely by Premier Performance back in September of 2025, I have had no issues with the car. I tried several times outside of court to receive the repair costs from Tru-Tec. However, the new owner, Jordan Becker, refused to take any responsibility. After multiple attempts to resolve this directly, I filed a small-claims case against Tru-Tec to recover my repair costs. I ultimately won a settlement through mediation. In my personal opinion, Jordan Becker is incapable of maintaining proper car and customer care. His dangerous incompetence led to my car being out of commission for months, as I had to use several different shops and resources to properly repair the car. Jordan repeatedly gave my husband and me conflicting information over and over again, which, in my opinion, demonstrated that he is not capable of running the family business. I highly recommend that you stay far away from this shop (unless you want to learn more about the legal system).
