It's definitely a full on bar after a certain hour. There is for sure a younger crowd here, or at least there was on the Saturday evening we popped in. On a girls trip we wanted to grab one last drink before heading in for the night. It was a good place to grab a drink, although a tad overpriced. Would I go back? No. But you can hop from place to place on this street if the lines aren't out the door. Not really much to say here one way or another! Oh oh! The multi-stall bathrooms are unisex. They have outdoor seating that is pretty cramped but they have plastic shields between all the tables and it's outdoors, so I guess it's OK? Our table was fully vaccinated so we didn't mind. First off, boozy brunch with an entree is $28. Not on top, including the food. That's a steal. That being said, the food was OK... nothing great but not bad either. I got the eggs benedict which also came with a side of truffle fries which was not mentioned on the menu, so that was a great surprise. It also came with a light small salad. The fries were actually awesome. The eggs were OK. They weren't overcooked, but they were lacking in flavor. But again, the price... you get what you pay for. Despite being super crowded, our carafes and cups were never empty. They just drop off a carafe and bottles of water every so often to your table. Honestly, it was awesome. Great about the water too, because I didn't get too bad of a hangover, cause I was hydrating and drinking at the same time. The mimosas though were a bit heavy on the OJ I think, but overall still a great deal. Now onto the bad - because it was so crowded, we were not seated until 1:15, even though we had a reservation for 1. I'm not sure what happened there. They also brought our friend's pizza out very late. They did give us shots for how late it was, but at a boozy brunch, not sure how much that is worth. They were super nice and apologetic about it so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. There is also no music playing outside, probably so that they are considerate of their neighbors, but it does set an awkward tone for brunch. We used Carroll Place's upstairs "Living Room" for our Rehearsal Dinner and Welcome Drinks to kick off our wedding weekend! We did lots of research of different Private Event spaces and found Carroll Place to be the best choice in regards of menu options, pricing, and flexibility. The team at Carroll Place set the room from 6-8pm for our dinner of 35 guests. The family-style food was absolutely delicious - our guests loved it! We mostly got a variety pizza and pasta options which were a hit, and Carroll Place accommodated our vegetarian and gluten free guests at no extra charge. For 8-10pm, they changed up the tables to maximize the space for our 80 guests who joined for Welcome Drinks. The ambiance in the room was lovely. The decor of the space is very Old New York and the beautiful chandelier casts a warm, low light that set a nice tone. It was also amazing to have our own bar and bathroom separate from the rest of the restaurant. We were able to request the lowering the volume of the music for our toasts and turn it off entirely when it got really loud from 8-10! I had a slideshow that I tried to set up with the TV, and I gave up rather quickly since there were some technical difficulties. I think at least three different Carroll Place workers figured out all the issues and helped to get it going! I was so happy we went with Carroll Place. It's a great location for out-of-towners, the bar itself is super cool, the prices are reasonable, and the food is tasty! It was the perfect kick-off to our whirlwind wedding weekend. This place was recommended to me by Nudge when I clicked bottomless brunch options. They only do reservations, but allowed us to sit at the bar! We liked the mimosa more than the rose sangria. People found the drinks to be watered down slightly. Also, bottomless brunch is not the same as when we used to do it in our early twenties. I much prefer more thoughtful cocktails. My burger was just ok. The bread was on the dryer side. And the fries didn't have a lot of truffle taste to it. 3 star for the food, but I'm giving them an extra star for the service! read more

We went on a Saturday night, sat outside because we asked for a table inside the host told us we needed to wait about an hour, we had a reservation and were hungry so didn't want to wait and took the first available. Some of their outdoor tables are in a high traffic sidewalk and a LOT of people from the bars around the area will be walking by you and your food screaming at each other's so the experience won't be pleasant. If you can specify when reserving for tables inside. Food was ok, not bad but average, we ordered 2 pasta dishes and other person in our table ordered the roasted cauliflower as a side and the wings as a main, the roasted cauliflower arrived at the table cold and not roasted at all. They brought all the food at the same time except for the wings, the server came a couple of minutes later and asked how was the food we told her: incomplete. She went to check but still the wings didn't come for another 10 minutes. By the time they arrived not only the cauliflower was cold but our pasta too. I asked for cheese and bread, they only brought the cheese, asked again, nothing happened, asked a third time and the server told me she saw a runner with bread, so I pointed out that is was not on our table. The bread finally came at the end of our meal. She was friendly but probably just covering more tables than she could actually handle. Great option for a (relatively) cheap bottomless brunch option in the city - $28 including the entree! My friend and I had reservation for 1:30PM on a Sunday, the outdoor and indoor seating were pretty packed but we did not feel rushed at all during our time there. When we told our waitress we were doing bottomless brunch, she immediately brought out a pitcher of Mimosa and Bellini even before we ordered our entrees. Once we did order our food, it came out within 10 minutes, and was surprisingly delicious. I ordered the eggs benedict, and my friend ordered the mushroom omelette. Both came with a side of (truffle? not 100% sure but the flavor was there) fries and salad. Although the actual entree, both for the eggs benedict and the omelette, were quite small, the meal was more than enough and neither of us finished the entire plate. The eggs benedict was perfectly cooked, yolks burst beautifully and hollandaise sauce was flavorful and creamy. The focaccia underneath was fluffy and soaked up the yolks very well. On to the main reason we were there, the drinks. My friend and I both preferred the Mimosa to the Bellini, it was sweeter and just as strong, but finished all our pitchers of both just the same. We wanted to try the Sangria but weren't really given the option, every time we emptied a pitcher another one of the same drink came soon after. The waitress was very generous with the drinks, even after we paid the bill she came out with one last Mimosa pitcher. Although she brought out the bill 1.5 hours after we were seated (like the menu says), we were allowed to stay for a while later since there weren't as many guests by then. Dinner plans found me here at Carrol Place. I had never been here before, but the pics and Yelp reviews got me really pumped, so I was looking forward to trying what they had to offer. First things first, the restaurant is doing a really good job keeping compliant with COVID-19 guidelines. Like many NYC restaurants, they built a structure out on the street which gives them plenty of space for outdoor dining. We sat inside though, where they were doing temperature checks and seating tables socially distant from each other. The aesthetics inside scream date night - low lighting, warm color scheme, and lots of wood. There's an impressive looking bar upon entry and additional dining space in the back that also houses a stage (I assume they have live performances under normal circumstances). CP mainly serves Italian fare; they have good selection of small plates and salads, as well as a few entrees and a nice variety of pastas. We decided to start with a few apps: prosciutto, a selection of cheeses, kale caesar and arugula salads, and two pizzas: margherita and amatriciana. All of the apps were pretty good - the salads were really fresh and the flavor combinations on the amatriciana pizza (mozzarella, pancetta, red onion, chili flakes) were really speaking to me. For my main I had to orecchiette; the pasta was paired with pork and fennel sausage, broccoli rabe, and basil pesto. The dish was great - the broccoli rabe and sausage were broken up which complemented the pasta rather than detract from it. The pesto sauce was full of the flavor, and the pasta itself was prepared al dente with the right amount of bite. Service was great - our waiter was very friendly, and the entire staff in general were really attentive to us and made sure the meal moved at a good pace. Overall, I had a great first experience at Carroll Place - the food is solid and the atmosphere is very inviting. I came here for dinner a few days ago. The ambience was not bad and the restaurant was much bigger than I realized, with a back room that had a stage where they were getting ready to have live-band karaoke which sounded like a blast. I ordered a You Must Chill cocktail which sounded good on the menu, but when it came out tasted quite watery and had little flavor and also probably quite a small alcohol content. Also, the outside of my glass was a bit sticky which I think was due to another glass spilling a bit onto my glass, which wasn't the most pleasant experience. Overall, the food was quite disappointing. We first got some small plates and sides to share such as the Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, and calamari. They were all pretty bland. The cauliflower's only flavor was a bit of char. For my main course I ordered the Free Range Chicken which was a mistake. The meat was dry and flavorless and tasted like very low quality chicken. I had a very underwhelming dinner here on Friday night. I'm bummed because the reviews seemed mostly positive, but both the service and food were lackluster. My husband and I arrived for our 7:00pm reservation five minutes early and checked in with the hostess. We were meeting two other people. The hostess was very unfriendly and remarked that if we waited for them it would cut into our seating time and that we would have to give up our table by 9:00 pm. We were very confused because it wasn't as if our friends were late...we were early, and they arrived right at 7:00pm. When we looked confused she snapped at us again about the 9:00pm cut off, it was very odd. For starters we ordered the Brussel sprouts and French fries for the table. Both were tasty, standard appetizers. Portions were a little small (especially the fries), so next time we'd probably order more. My husband ordered the penne vodka with chicken. His pasta wasn't cooked all the way through and the serving of chicken was so small. It definitely looked better than it tasted. I opted for the kale Caesar salad with shrimp. It was your typical kale Caesar, nothing to write home about, but thankfully the portion size was what I expected. I took off a star because on one visit I was told happy hour specials are only at the bar & on another visit they said we could receive the specials at our table. I ordered a Pugliese Pizza, and my boyfriend got the Pappardelle. Both of us found our food so so. Mine especially had a slightly burnt flavor to go with my pizza, even though the bottom wasn't necessarily charred. Back in April they still had a table limit which was 90 minutes. We were aware about it, however it is a server's responsibility to at least give us a last call before our time is up.
