This place is the equivalent of judging a book by its cover. It all seems as if you're gonna have an amazing experience with great food until your first interaction with any of the workers. They're EXTREMELY rude. Everyone has a ghetto attitude and literally could care less about your order and your concerns. As a vegan I thought this would be a good healthy option for me and boy was I wrong . I ordered an almond joy smoothie and a vegan sausage bowl. For starters the smoothie was basically almond milk and tons of honey. It was gross not healthy at all. And when I saw the brand of honey they use it's basically fake fake fake. (Isnt a healthy food joint supposed to carry quality ingridients?) When I asked one of the sassy girls behind the counter if they used organic ingredients they looked at each other like I was crazy and basically laughed in my face and replied "no it's just regular". Never again, honestly might as well have drank a coke. Second the sausage bowl was drenched in oil and salty as hell, I literally did not feel like I was eating anything healthy. Poorly run, dirty, food hit or miss. It's a shame you struggle to get the attention of the workers just to order or if you have an issue. It's always social hour and congregational time. Makes me question if there is mgmt or supervisor ever present, if so they have no idea how to run a respectable business. The tables although "bussed", many have dirty smudges and/ or crumbs. It would be nice if someone would take a Little pride in their job. I come here because I like the menu and location, but usually leave disappointed. After making it a point to try acai bowls all around Miami, we stumbled upon this little gem. Not only is it one of the biggest bowls we've found, filled with fresh berries of all sorts and topped with coconut and agave, it's also the best price! The staff is always super friendly and best of all, it's right around the corner from our apartment so takeaway orders are simple and always ready for pickup by the time we get downstairs--unlike other places in the midtown neighborhood that notoriously promise shorter waits than they can uphold. I came for lunch, as soon as i walked in you can see there are 8 people behind the counter, however no one turns around, greats you or is ready to take your order. After waiting a while one of the staff members turns and takes my order, i ordered a burger and specifically asked for no sauces, she insisted it came with no sauces but I still asked her to mark on the order. I waited about 20 minutes, the place wasn't very busy there were probably 5 tables and 3 were already served. I asked for the restroom and no one even blinked, i had to ask 3 times until someone pointed me in the direction. They had no toilet paper or hand paper the girl came to replace and was super rude. That same girl finally brought my food and it had sauce and mayo on it!!! I couldn't believe it! I asked to return it and the 8 people there were all straight faced, no one was helpful no one gave me an answer. The manager didnt care about the situation and seemed to be mad because I wanted to return, she would speak loudly and ask "but what does she want be to do" and the girl said i wanted a refund, she yelled and said yeah just give it to her whatever. There was another table that had an issue and came to ask to talk to the manager and the girl that was doing my refund turned to the other and said "omg people are so complicated" right in-front of me. Terrible experience terrible service and unbelievable that they have so many people working and so awfully trained, the problem starting with terrible management! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Carrot Express in Midtown. Each time I have eaten there, the food has been absolutely delicious. The menu items are super healthy, the portions are huge, and the service is great--in Miami, you don't always get so lucky! I am obsessed with the green goddess salad (the cilantro lime dressing is EVERYTHING) and love the poke bowl, too. Overall, I'm a big big fan of Carrot Express and could eat there every day--SO good. read more

The reason for 3 stars is the amount of plastic. My order was done "for here" and I asked the helpful person at the counter for a glass for a glass for water and she informed me they only had plastic. We ordered an acai bowl and a wrap and they just brought the acai bowl. They completely forgot about the wrap. We gave them time, but after 20 min we asked about it and they said that they forgot and asked us what kind of wrap we ordered???? At the time the wrap came I already had finished with the acai bowl and they didn't even give us excuses about it. Not coming back here again. None of the fruit were the least bit of sweet and the açaí at the bottom of the bowl was not tasteful at all. I had to clean the cauliflower rice because it had way too much oil. I threw away 9 tablespoons of oil and it still had so much left!... I would definitely want my money back.
