Took a walk into Midtown and stopped at Tap 42. This was a tough one because I had heard great things. Loved the vibes, cute spot, great upscale sports bar atmosphere.... But the SERVICEEEE!!! This really brought my review down. The lady that brought me the menus seemed bored of her joband just repeating a line like a robot. Then my server wasn't any better. Checked in twice which was cool. But no smile, no enthusiasms, no introduction, not very friendly whatsoever. Couldn't tell you either of the names. Flame grilled wings were good, a little peppery but overall great taste. The homemade dipping sauces were pretty tasty. I really enjoyed the buffalo. The slider I expected to be much better, but it wasn't extra special. Still good! The friesss.... I've been to Tap 42 Midtown a few times and it never disappoints. My absolute favorite dishes are the Crispy Asian Calamari Tower and the Wagyu Steak & Noodle Bowl. The noodle bowl has a little kick to it, which I love. It's so flavorful and honestly too good to pass up. The vibes are always great, whether you're there for brunch, lunch, or dinner. Came here with some friends and started off hot with the Cheesesteak Egg rolls they were phenomenal. Then for my meal I got the Big Smash with a side of sweet potato fries! The big smash was good I gave it a 7.8/10 on my one bit score which is a pretty damn good. I liked the flavor of the sauce paired with the juicy patties it hit the spot for me. I returned to this old fav to celebrate the big 5-O as a boozy brunch with a group of friends. For starters, the CLASSIC hip hop beats took me back to my 20's since everyone knows 50 is the new 21! Our group had a patio table; with today's weather it worked out perfectly! I appreciate how their manager Dayan was able to work with me the week prior to reserve for my group. We had two servers who were really timely with plating and drink refills for their unlimited mimis ($30, and you can switch around between champagne, seltzer, bloody Mary's and beer). The excellent staff also let our crew enjoying the ambiance until well midafternoon. As far as food, I kept it classic with their chicken and waffles. Served with an order of nicely crispy sweet potato fries, this was a fluffy waffle with a serving of lightly breaded chicken tenders. The tray comes with ketchup, a marshmallow sauce as well as maple syrup. For my birthday, I also received a chocolate bread pudding a la mode with a candle and all. I've been to serval Tap42 locations and this location really needs an overhaul. The music was amazing! The dj played a lot hits that made us want to sing and dance. The service was mediocre at best. Despite a not so busy Saturday afternoon, we had to ask 3 times for drinks and it took a while to place our order. The food was horrible. My sweet potatoes fries were cold and scraps. My hangover burger was supposed to be served on a brioche roll and wasn't. The bacon was super thin you could barely taste. My blueberry drink was pretty good! Once the order finally came, the food looked delicious! See photos...HOWEVER, it was not. I think my burger was a pattie. It had no seasoning at all. The fries were cold eventhough the waitress brought me new ones. There were cold ones mixed with luke warm ones. The Ceasars salad was kind of salty. The Ceasars wrap was just okay. I ordered the strawberry kush drink with cbd and it was so good I ordered two . Don't know what kind of magic sauce they put in that but it was delicious. The service was great. We had the wings with sauce on the side which was Amazing. I wanted to order just the waffles for my son as he eats nothing else on the menu and they allowed us to which was nice. Drinks were okay but they are not great at making an old fashioned so had to pay for whiskey 3 times. 1 x for my husband and 2 x times for me cause the old fashioned was horrible. The only thing I did not like was the waitress did not tell me gratuity was included. I had to contact the store because I paid almost 70 for a tip which was about 30% of the bill. The manager however was really nice and called me and apologized and refunded me the tip that was not disclosed. Also offered to take care of us if we returned. I have no issues tipping. I came here for dinner last night and had one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. I ordered a chicken Caesar wrap and asked for fries as my side. After waiting an extremely long time, I had to remind the staff twice that I still had not received my meal. It ended up taking over an hour and a half just to get my food,for a wrap and fries. Completely unacceptable. When the checks were finally brought out, I was still charged for the meal that took over 90 minutes to receive, and I had to request that it be taken off. On top of that, they also charged me for a basket of fries as an appetizer, even though I had only requested fries as my side with my entrée. When I pointed this out, they refused to remove the charge. There was no apology, no compensation, and no accountability for the horrible service. Mistakes happen, but the way this was handled was careless and unprofessional. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Between the extreme wait time, billing issues, and lack of customer service, it was a very frustrating experience. read more

Then they have some type of manager come interrupt me while I'm in the middle of a phone call to tell me about how I'm not supposed to be sitting at a table because I ordered from the bar. Right away you can tell nobody there cares much customer service; they only check on you when you flag them down. At least at the bar. They ask for a card as soon as you get greeted, and its a given theyre going to lose your card at some point. Sure enough, they lost my credit card, got charged for someone else's tab, and also mine. Tap 42 is one of our all time favorite brunch spots. We visit the Fort Lauderdale location often and wanted to try the Midtown Miami spot. It's located pretty close to 95 in a central area with other bars and shops. Parking is kind of a pain as it is hard to find any street parking in that area. However, there's a garage near by that wasn't too much. I can't remember exactly how much it was but I believe it was $3-4 an hour which is definitely reasonable in that area. The food at Tap 42 has always been great and this time was no different. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and it was cooked/breaded perfectly. Loved the bread they use as well as the toppings. My all time favorite thing at Tap 42 though is their sweet potato fries. They really are the best sweet potato fries I've ever had and recommend everyone to try them if you are a sweet potato fan. The marshmallow sauce they make too is amazing. We ordered the bottomless brunch and that included unlimited mimosas, blood marys or Truly's. We were able to switch them up as well which was nice. If you have a big group and everyone orders the bottomless they will also let you have a bottle of champagne at the table, makes it much easier when getting drinks. Also, the Truly's aren't canned Truly's, they came in a glass (not sure if it was just poured in there or if it was a homemade one) The pricing is pretty on par for the area. An entree is $20+, drinks are about $15+ and the bottomless brunch is $25 which is a steal. Had a great experience there and will definitely be back! read more
